Hook Man.
Flashback
Athena always enjoyed school. Even if she hardly had any friends. She loved learning new things or even being able to further her knowledge in the things she already knew. And the girl knew a lot. If Athena could choose, she would rather go to school than hunt. She never could get the hang of it. Having to kill things, even if they weren't people—Athena still felt bad.
Now since Athena was the only Winchester at the required age to go to school. She went by herself. Those were the best 8 hours of Athena's young life. That and because she gets to see Cameron.
Athena wasn't good at understanding social cues of any kind. But with Cameron the girl was slowly learning how to show empathy towards others instead of just trying to explain it away.
A soft tap is heard in front of the girl and she blinks. Athena shifts her gaze up and connects her eyes with the hazel brown ones in front of her.
"Hey, Thea!"
"Oh—hey—hi!" Athena straightens her back. She takes her bag off the seat across from her and the girl sits down.
"How are you doing?" Cameron asks. "You didn't come to school yesterday."
"Oh, yeah I was just...busy with some family business." Athena shrugs.
Athena wasn't lying. She had family business to attend to. It was a Djinn.
"Well, I'm glad everything's okay." Cameron opens her book bag and grabs her Rubik's Cube. "Here."
Athena's eyes light up, "No way!"
"Yup, all yours."
The Winchester pulls her brows together and she shakes her head. "Cameron, I'm not gonna take your Rubik's Cube—"
"You can and you will." Cameron arches a brow. "I never got the hang of it." She lets out a breath. "But I have faith in you. I mean...you're good with your brain!"
Athena laughs softly, "I don't know about that—"
"Athena Winchester."
Athena looks back into Cameron's brown eyes and the Winchester could've sworn that they sparkled every time she looked into them.
"You are a freaking genius and don't let anyone tell you any different, all right?" Cameron tilts her head to the side.
Athena's lips curve into a smile. "Th-thank you."
Cameron pulls her brows together. "What? Do you think you're not a genius?"
"I've never...heard anyone call me a genius before." Athena shrugs.
"Jeez, what goes on at your house?"
Athena's chest tightens. "Uh...the usual—normal family things..."
Cameron's eyes turn across Athena's blank expression. Athena tried to laugh off whatever uncomfortableness she felt, but the pain she felt just ended up showing in her eyes.
Cameron forces a gentle smile onto her lips that makes Athena calm down. The girl holds the Rubik's Cube out towards the Winchester.
Athena grabs the cube and her fingers brush against Cameron's, a chill shooting down her spine.
Athena pulls her brows together. "Huh."
Cameron snorts, "Holding onto my hand a little too long now."
Athena blinks and looks at Cameron who was staring at their fingers touching. The auburn-haired girl's mouth hangs open. "Sorry! Was that awkward?" She pulls away, the Rubik's cube now in her hand.
Cameron presses her lips together. "Would've been with anyone else."
"But I'm not just anyone." Cameron shrugs.
Athena's gut turns and she squints her eyes at the girl. "Uh...right."
Athena didn't know why, but there was something off about Cameron. Athena was never able to hit it off with someone immediately, so being this close with Cameron was weird to her. And Cameron was always so cool and collected when Athena would say talk to her like she wasn't surprised the Winchester would say something odd.
The teacher claps their hands, snapping Athena out of her thoughts.
"All right class let's check our homework from last night!"
Present
"Ow!"
"Hold still—"
"You're pulling my hair!"
"Because you're not staying still!" Dean sticks his tongue out of the corner of his mouth, trying to concentrate on the frizzy hair in front of him.
"How do you let your hair get like this anyway?"
Athena keeps her eyes on the Rubik's Cube in front of her and shrugs. "I dunno—I'm busy."
"Busy with what?" Dean scoffs.
"Being a genius," Athena says.
"Y'know, maybe Sam's right. You should lay off the genius talk." Dean advises. "You're starting to sound cocky."
"Wouldn't that be better than thinking I'm worth nothing?" Athena raises her brows. "Because that's how I normally feel..."
Dean presses his lips together. "Be as cocky as you want, Athy. Sam is wrong."
"What about me being wrong?" Sam enters the room.
"Oh, speak of the hair expert." Dean stands up and motions to the girl.
Sam cranes his neck forward. "What the hell did you do to her?"
Athena's eyes widen, "What are you talking about—"
"Nothing! He's lying!" Dean waves his hand. "She doesn't take care of it, so I tried..." he points at the hair products and Sam's eyes widen.
"You used my hair products?!" Sam runs over to his bed.
Athena bites the inside of her cheek to keep herself from laughing.
"Yeah, I thought that you guys had the same hair texture." Dean shrugs.
"Uh—does it look like we have the same hair texture?!" Sam points at his sheen brown locks then Athena's frizzy auburn hair.
The girl stands up, "Can I go back to my room?" Her eyes were still glued to the Rubik's Cube.
"No, we have to go." Sam sighs. He looks at the girl's hair. "You're gonna have to rock the pigtails today, Athy."
Athena presses her lips together and nods. "Uh...okay."
Sam braided Athena's hair into pigtails. He was in such a hurry that he didn't put the butterfly barrettes in her hair so Dean did it for her.
Now, the siblings were at a cafe, working on looking for their father. Well, Sam was working on looking for John, Dean was looking for a case, and Athena was working on her cursive handbook.
Athena and Dean have been trying to tell Sam that John didn't want to be found. But Sam was so determined to get a better chance to find Jess' killer that he felt like he needed to find their father.
Athena sips her tea as Sam sits down with a huff.
"So, anything?"
"I had them check the FBI's missing-person's databank. No 'John Does' fitting that description." Sam explains. "I even ran his plates for traffic violations."
"He doesn't want to be found," Athena says, shifting her eyes to her brother.
Athena and Dean notice Sam physically grow more frustrated from the statement.
"Check this out." Dean turns the laptop towards him. "News Item out of Plains Courier, Akeny, Iowa. It's only about 100 miles from here."
"Mutilated body was found near the victim's car parked on 9-mile road." Sam reads.
"Keep reading." Dean urges.
"Authorities are unable to provide a realistic description of the killer. The sole eyewitness, whose name has been withheld, is quoted as saying the attacker was invisible."
"Could be something interesting." Athena voices, taking in what Sam read aloud.
"Or it could be nothing at all."
Athena and Dean sigh.
"One witness who didn't see anything doesn't mean it's the Invisible Man."
"But what if it is?" Dean questions. "Dad would check it out."
Right because John Winchester is SUCH a good role model.
Athena lightly pinches her thigh, quieting her thoughts.

Flashback
Athena keeps her eyes on her red Chuck Taylor's as she listens to Cameron talk. The Winchester wanted to look at Cameron while she talked, but Athena's an observer and she stares for wayyy too long. Everyone gets weirded out by her and she never understands why until it's too late to fix it.
"Well, this is where we split ways."
Athena blinks and looks at the brunette. Cameron flicks the tip of Athena's nose. "See you later, Thea!"
Athena pulls her face back and rubs her nose, her cheeks becoming hot. "Wait!"
Cameron stops and turns to the girl. Athena scratches her wrist and inhales a deep breath; trying to approach the situation carefully.
"Are you homeless?"
Athena's eyes widen. "Uh—no! I mean...I didn't..." she trails off her sentence. "I meant to say that in a nicer way."
'What the hell is wrong with you?'
Cameron lets out a sputter of laughs. Athena focuses on the girl.
"Oh, wow! You really don't hold back, do you?" Cameron wipes the tears from her eyes. "You're so cool! I don't know why you don't have any more friends."
Athena smiles softly, but she then pulls her brows together; comprehending the second part of Cameron's sentence.
"Was that a compli..." she stops talking, noticing Cameron walking away from her.
"O-Okay! I'll see you tomorrow!" Athena waves her hand.
Athena watches Cameron turn a corner and disappear. Her heart continues to beat quickly. And the girl was left confused.
"I think I get heart attacks."
Dean slows his chewing and looks at the girl.
"What?"
Athena nods her head and flips through her books. "My heart beats super fast when I'm at school."
"That's just fear. You have a fear of school." Dean shrugs.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I used to have that when I would have to present." Dean shudders.
"Uh—no. I love presenting." Athena says. "Telling everyone what you learned in a project manner—"
"Are you really trying to explain a project to me?" Dean slumps his shoulders. "I'm not an idiot."
Athena inhales a deep breath, keeping her thoughts at bay.
"Right...sorry." She presses her knuckles against the side of her face. "Then what could it be?"
"I dunno." Dean shrugs while chewing. He then stops and pulls his brows together. "Wait...do you have a crush?"
Athena raises her brows, "Like...romantically?—"
"There's only one definition for crush, Athy."
A snort leaves Athena's lips, "No, there isn't, Dean." She holds up a finger but he shakes his head.
"Yeah—we're not doing that again." He lowers her hand. "Who have you been hanging out with?"
"Cameron."
"Ooooh..." Dean leans forward and Athena pulls her brows together.
"What—"
"So, what does he look like?" Dean asks.
"He? Uh—"
"I mean, I didn't think that you were going to have your first crush until like...never actually because you're you."
"I don't have a crush on Cameron." Athena retorts. "We're just friends."
"Is that why you're heart beats fast when he's around?" Dean asks a smirk on his lips. "Do you think about him all the time?"
Athena looks at her book, "I mean...yeah..."
"Do you stare at him whenever he's not paying attention?"
Athena's eyes widen, "Yeah."
"Boom!" Dean holds his arms up. "Athy's got a crush."
A small smile forms on Athena's lips. To Athena, it wasn't just a crush. She felt a deep connection with Cameron. Athena felt like Cameron was someone she could count on. The young girl has never felt that before.
Present
"So, you believe her?"
"I do."
Dean slowly nods his head, "I think she's hot, too."
"Just because Sam believes her, doesn't mean he wants anything from her." Athena rolls her eyes.
"I'm pretty sure that's exactly what that means."
"No, man, there was something in her eyes," Sam says.
"Dust?"
Sam looks at his little sister, "No. Like fear—trauma. She saw something that's going to stick with her for the rest of her life."
Athena slightly opens her mouth and nods. "Ooooh...yeah—I know that feeling."
"She also heard scratching in the roof and found the bloody body," Sam adds. "Suspended upside down over the car."
Simultaneously, Dean and Athena stop in their tracks; causing Sam to stop as well.
"Hold on..."
"Wait..."
Athena turns on her heel and looks up at Sam. "Bloody body?"
"Suspended?" Dean adds.
"That sounds like—"
"The Hookman Legend," Sam says, finishing his siblings' thoughts.
Athena's mouth hangs open, "That's one of the most famous Urban Legends!" She exclaims.
"You don't think that we're dealing with The Hookman," Dean speaks.
"Every Urban Legend has a source, a place where it all began," Sam replies.
"What about the scratches and the fire punctures and the invisible Killer?" Dean inquires.
"Maybe the Hookman isn't a man at all." Sam shrugs. "What if it's some kind of spirit?"
Dean slumps his shoulders, "Please don't tell me we have to—"
"Research!" Athena raises her hands into the air. "I'll go ask the librarian for the archives!"
Athena sprints down the aisle of books.
"Athena, please, be careful—"
Athena trips over her foot and falls to the ground. She quickly jumps up, "I'm okay!" She sends her brothers a thumbs up before turning to the librarian.
After Athena asked for the archives the Librarian sat them on the table with the three siblings. Athena's mouth hangs open as she opens the dusty boxes.
"Arrest records going back to 1851." The librarian smacks the dust off her hands.
"Thank you!" Athena smiles at the lady.
"No problem, sweetie." The librarian walks away.
Athena looks through the box and giggles.
"So, this is how you spent four good years of your life, huh?" Dean questions Sam.
"Welcome to Higher Education." Sam sighs.
"Higher Education sounds awesome!" Athena exclaims, she grabs one folder and starts to look through it.
After hours of research, Athena lets out a squeal. "I found something! I found something!" She stands up with the article clippings. Sam and Dean look at the young girl.
The girl's smile soon falls and she frowns. "I shouldn't be this excited—especially with what's in this article."
Dean cranes his neck forward, "Well, are you gonna read it or...?"
Athena blinks, but it clicks in her head. "Oh, right!"
"1862–a Preacher names Jacob Karns was arrested for murder. He was so angry over the red-light district in town that one night he killed 13 Prostitutes." Athena summarizes. "Some of the deceased were found in their beds, sheets soaked with blood, others suspended upside down from the limbs or trees as a warning against sins of the flesh."
"Get this—the murder weapon...looks like the Preacher lost his hand in an accident, had it replaced with a silver hook." Dean picks up one of the newspaper clippings.
Sam lets out a soft breath and points at another article clipping. "Look at where all this happened."
"9 Mile Road."
"Same place where Frat Boy was killed."
"Guys, I would like to say we are such a good team," Athena says with a huff.
"Yeah, we're like the Scooby Gang." Dean smiles.
"Eh—I don't know about that I mean, are we really better than the Scooby-Gang? They have a talking dog!"
Dean nods his head, "Okay, well all we need is a talking dog and we're golden!"
"Or cat." Sam shrugs. "Athy's a cat person."
Athena's gut turns. She pushes away the feeling of wanting to cry in her bed and presses her lips into a firm line. "Uh...I mean, dogs are cool too."
"What? I have never heard you express any interest in wanting a dog." Sam says.
"I have! Right, Dean?" Athena looks at her eldest brother.
Dean pulls his brows together and frowns, thinking. He then shakes his head, "Nope—not that I remember."
"Maybe you just never paid attention to what I've said before." Athena folds her arms.
Dean nods, "Right, that must be it."
"And besides..." Athena shrugs. "...Dean's allergic to cats, so...why not compromise and get a dog?"
"Or we could compromise and not get any pets," Dean speaks with his hand raised.
"Or we could put this discussion aside for another time," Sam says.
Athena and Dean look at each other.
"Agreed."
They all start to walk out of the library and Athena lets out a breath of relief.

Flashback
A rough knock is heard at the girl's door and she jumps. Before she could stand up, the door swung open.
"D-Daddy? What—"
He slams the door shut and Athena jumps. She stumbles back, her back hitting the nightstand.
"What...the fuck is this?"
Athena pulls her brows together at the notebook. "I...I don't—"
He throws the book towards her, she quickly falls to the ground before the book could hit her in the head.
Athena's breathing quickens.
He stalks toward her and grabs a fistful of her hair. John yanks her up and she cries out in pain. He grabs the notebook and shows her the page.
Athena's eyes widen when she sees the page that she was writing about Cameron. The girl was so confused about her feelings toward Cameron that she decided to write them down and make it easier for her to interpret.
"It's not—"
"It's not what?!" John grips her hair even tighter. Athena feels strands of her hair pulled out of her scalp. Tears prick her eyes.
Her mind goes back to when Victor would pull her hair and she felt sick to her stomach.
"She's just a friend. I swear!"
Athena's skin starts to crawl, and tears roll down her face.
"Don't lie to me, Athena," John growls.
Athena's body starts to shake and she squeezes her eyes shut.
"End it. Now!" He shoves her head down, hitting the carpeted floor. Black dots form in her vision and she stays curled up on the ground.
John throws the book at the wall once again, causing Athena to flinch. He walks out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
A large lump forms in her throat and a rack of sobs leaves her lips. Athena's body starts to shake violently and she grips her chest, not being able to breathe.
Athena hears the door open once again, and her heartbeat quickens.
"Ath—"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...." She sobs over and over again.
"Hey, i-its me."
Athena opens her eyes, meeting Dean's soft eyes.
"Dean? What...what are you..." she trails off her sentence, feeling nauseous from her headache.
"Dad went to the bar pretty angry," Dean says, crouching down.
He's never comforted Athena before. After Sam left, it's like John has been taking his anger out on Athena even more than before. Dean was an adult now, it wasn't so easy to push him around anymore. He's always protected Sam from John's wrath. But Athena, she wasn't new to it.
"Uh...do you...want to talk about what happened?" Dean asks.
Athena sniffles, "No, please just...you don't have to be here."
"Athy—"
"Please, stop pretending to care about me, Dean!" Athena cries even harder. "I just want to be alone."
Dean's eyes water and he wipes his nose. "I'm sorry." He whispers, guilt filling his chest. He stands up and walks toward the door.
Dean stops at the door. He wanted to walk back over to her, wrap her in a hug and apologize for all the shit he put her through. Dean wanted to pick her up and tuck her into bed, telling her everything would be okay. But instead, he looked back at his sister before leaving
Present
"Spooky..."
Athena and Dean walk through the cemetery. "I'm surprised you didn't stay at the party." she looks at her brother.
"Yeah, me too." Dean sighs.
Athena snorts softly, "Well, why didn't you?"
"Because I wanted to hang out with the bestest sister in the entire world!" Dean bumps the girl with his hip and she stumbles off to the side with a laugh.
"Bestest isn't even a word." Athena sputters.
Dean rolls his eyes, "Okay, miss know-it-all. If you must know..." he inhales. "...the spirit of the Hookman has been killing people who have acted immorally."
Athena slightly opens her mouth, "Ah." she nods. "Understood, mister immoral."
Dean forces out a chuckle, but it quiets down; signaling that it really did bother him that he was one of the 'immoral'.
Athena chews on the inside of her cheek, "You know immoral doesn't mean you're necessarily a bad person," she states, hoping to reassure him.
Dean looks down at the girl, "Really?"
Athena nods her head, "I mean, immoral means 'violating moral principles; not conforming to the patterns of conduct usually accepted or established as consistent with principles of personal and social ethics'." she pronounces from memory, her pointer finger in the air.
Dean rolls his eyes.
"If we did everything that was accepted by other's social opinions and what they think is right then...we wouldn't be the people we are today." Athena shrugs. "I mean what about the people out there that like the same gender--is that immoral?"
Dean looks at the ground and Athena's chest tightens. "Do you...think that's immoral?"
His eyes shift to the girl and he shrugs his shoulder. He knows Athena is an open-minded person, and he knew how much of a debater she was. So, how could he answer this question without getting chewed out by her?
"I mean...it's not...normal."
Athena's stomach turns and she slowly nods her head. "Huh..."
"So, people loving who they want to love isn't normal?" Athena looks at her brother, her brow arched.
Dean starts to sweat. "People can do whatever they want, y'know? It's just...dad has always said that--"
"Right, because dad is such an expert on same-sex relationships," Athena grumbles. "We should take his word for everything, right?"
Athena's breathing quickens. "Follow him to the ends of the earth?"
I don't fucking think so. Athena's mind echoes.
Dean pulls his brows together at Athena's snappiness. "Athy--"
"I don't want to talk about this anymore," Athena says, her voice cold. "Here." she stops and points her flashlight at the unmarked grave. Dean looks at the grave, but he looks back at Athena; noticing her purposefully avoiding eye contact.
Dean thought it was because she was mad at him. But the real reason was that she was angry at herself. Angry that there was a small piece of her that understood what Dean was trying to say. John burned into his kid's brains that whatever he said was right. And they followed John's moral laws. But once Sam left, he created his own and lived by them. Sadly, Athena and Dean were still there following after their father. But with each day that went by, Athena could feel herself slipping out of a John's iron grip. She was slowly able to breathe again.
After digging up the grave, Athena grabbed the kerosene and matches. "Ready?" she looks at Dean who was holding the salt.
"Let's burn this motherfucker into ashes." Dean laughs lowly.
Athena pulls her brows together, "Have you ever considered meeting with a therapist or seeking a psychiatrist?"
Dean frowns, "Whatever, let's just do this."
They toss the salt and gasoline onto the bones. Athena hands Dean the matches and he lights one.
"Goodbye, Mr. Preacher sir." Athena waves as Dean drops the match into the grave, igniting the bones into flames.
"Sweet, so we're done." Dean shrugs.
Athena blows air out of her mouth. "If I say that this felt too easy, would I be jinxing it?"
Dean thinks for a moment, he then waves a hand. "Nah, I doubt it."

Flashback
After the night of John's wrath, Athena was relieved to have school so she could see her friend. Athena decided she wanted to tell Cameron the truth about her life. Cameron felt like someone Athena could talk to about anything. She was comfortable with her and after everything Athena has been through, it was hard for the Winchester to feel that way with someone.
Athena continues to stare at the door, her eyes never leaving it. Her hands were folded into the desk and her legs were bouncing. She shifts her eyes to her digital Hello Kitty watch and she pulls her brows together.
Cameron usually came 3 minutes before class started. But there were 30 seconds left.
The bell rings and the teacher closes the door. Athena grabs her pencils as the teacher continues to talk. But the entire time, Athena was worried about the whereabouts of the curly-haired girl.
"Athena."
The girl looks up from her paper and shifts her gaze to her teacher. "You're gonna be working with Antonio today."
Athena looks at the boy who was now sitting in Cameron's seat. "Uh, no offense, but...where's Cameron?"
The teacher frowns and Athena pulls her brows together.
"Is something wrong?" Athena inquires.
"You didn't hear? Athena, Cameron transferred schools."
Athena blinks, the crease between her brows deepens. "Wh-what? No—she would've told me."
"Obviously she didn't." Antonio murmurs.
"Do you want me to call your mother?" The teacher looks at Antonio with an arched brow.
Antonio tenses, "No, ma'am."
The teacher looks at Athena who was looking at the Rubik's cube on her desk.
"Athena, how about you take a few minutes in the hall?" The teacher touches the girl's shoulder.
Athena shifts in her seat and swallows. "N-No, I'll be fine..." her voice shakes. "I was just surprised...that's all." She looks at her new partner. "Uh—we can start working if you want."
"You mean you can start working—"
"Antonio!"
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Hannigan!"
Athena blinks away her tears.
"If it makes you feel any better..."
Athena turns to the snot-nosed Antonio.
"...Cameron was a weirdo."
Athena shakes her head, "That didn't help—actually."
Antonio shrugs, "It was worth a try."
Athena looks at her paper, her chest tightening in a painful manner. Cameron left her without a word. Athena eyes well with tears.
Why does everyone always leave me?
Present
"I thought we got all the silver."
"So did I!"
"Then why is he still here?!"
"We missed something..." Athena looks around the office of the church. Her eyes stop on the cross around the blonde's neck. The youngest Winchester pulls her brows together. "Lori, where did you get that chain?" she points at the girl.
The brothers look at Lori.
"My father gave it to me." Lori answers.
"Where'd your dad get it?" Dean asks.
"He said it was a Church Heirloom. He gave it to me when I started school--"
"Is it silver?!"
"Yes!"
Sam grabs the necklace and rips it off the girl. A sound is heard down the hall. Athena turns to see a line begin to be carved into the wall, the ghost approaching them. The girl's throat tightens.
"Fiddlesticks..."
"Sam!"
Dean tosses Sam the shotgun and Sam tosses Dean the necklace. The eldest Winchester turns to Athena. "Stay behind Sam! Don't move!"
Athena swallows and nods her head. Dean runs down the hall. Athena gets behind Sam and stands beside Lori. Sam fires the shotgun, hoping to buy some time. He falls to his knees, the pain evident in his face. Sam's hands start to shake, blood leaving his arm.
"I can't carry it." Sam huffs.
Athena looks over her brother's shoulder, her breathing becoming quick. Sam looks at the girl and she pulls her brows together, understanding what he was getting at.
"Then...try harder...?--"
"Athena!"
"Okay--okay!" Athena grabs the shotgun and her eyes examine the weapon. "I...I don't--"
"Dad taught you didn't he?" Sam asks.
"Yeah, but he stopped!" Athena starts to panic. "He gave up on me!"
Scraping is heard against the wall and Athena flinches. Sam looks around the office and continues to clutch his bleeding arm, his head become lighter with every second that passes.
"There's a latch on the barrel of the gun, you see it?" Sam asks, his breathing was heavy, but he attempted a comforting voice.
Athena's eyes spot the lever, "Y-Yeah."
"Okay, pull it." Sam says.
Athena grabs the lever and pulls it, opening the barrel of the shotgun. She swallows, "Okay, I-I think..." she empties the shell casings from the shotgun and places the new ones in.
"Okay, good, Athy." Sam forces out a chuckle. "But hurry."
"Right--yeah." Athena closes the shotgun and laughs. "Hah!" she turns and aims the shotgun toward the spirit.
Before she could register anything, the Hookman smacks the gun out of the girl's hand. Athena's mouth hangs open and her eyes widen. "Are you kidding?" she looks at her empty hands. "After all of that?!"
"ATHY GET BACK!"
Sam grabs the back of Athena's bag, pulling her into the corner with him and Lori. The spirit slowly approaches the three with it's hook raised. Before the spirit could attack any of them, he stops in his tracks and is bursts into flames.
Athena lets out a sharp breath. "I really wanted to shoot that gun."
Sam chuckles and ruffles the girl's hair.
"Maybe another time."
Author's Note:
Athena is slowly but SURELY finding her voice! Also, I think I might skip a few episodes. We'll see, but don't be surprised if I do.
