Olivia softly hummed to the Queen song that was playing on the radio. So much has happened these last few days and there was a lot to take in. And now, she was in Steve's car as Dustin explained to Steve what was going on. "Wait a sec, how big?" Steve asked, puzzled. She could tell by his tone that he didn't quite believe Dustin. And oh, how she wished Dart was just a made up creature in Dustin's mind.

"First it was like that," Dustin made a small space with his hands. "Now he's like this," He explained, expanding the space.

Steve looked at him unconvincingly. "I swear to God, man, it's just some little Lizard."

"It's not a Lizard," Dustin confirmed.

"Yeah," Olivia agreed with him. "It's definitely not. I've seen it."

"How do you know?" Steve asked the siblings.

"How do I know if it's not a lizard?"

"Yeah, how do you know if it's not just a lizard?" Steve repeated his question.

"Because his face opened up and ate my cat!" Olivia blurted out suddenly. "Mews," Olivia sniffed quietly, tears starting to stream down her face. She truly loved Mews and missed her so much. She knew she had bigger things to worry about, but she was having a difficult time accepting the fact that Mews was really gone. Steve turned around to look at her with sympathy before looking back at the road.

Once they pulled up to their house, Steve got his bat out of his trunk, and they walked to their shed where Dustin had trapped Dart in.

"I don't hear shit," Steve said, moving closer towards the shed.

            "He's in there," Dustin shrugged.

Steve started to hit the shed with his bat. When nothing seemed to be there, he moved his flashlight so it was shining in front of Dustin's face. "Alright, listen Kid, I swear if this is some sort of Halloween prank, you're dead, alright?" Steve warned him.

Dustin squinted his eyes. "It's not a prank. Get it out of my face," He huffed.

"Yeah, Steve. It's not," Olivia mumbled. She was still crestfallen. She was always known to have a sweet smile on her face, especially when it came to her brother Dustin, so it was unusual to see her gloomy.

"Oh right- um, I'm sorry about Mews," Steve awkwardly patted his hand on her shoulder.

"He must be further down there," Dustin concluded, once they opened the shed. "I'll stay up here incase he tries to escape."

Olivia sighed at his comment. "Steve, I'll come with you. You can't go down there alone."

"No, no, you stay here with Dustin," Steve told her. Steve didn't know why, but he had the sudden urge to protect her.

While the siblings waited for Steve, it was quiet for a moment until Dustin spoke up. "Olivia, I know I've already apologized, but I really am sorry."He apologized. She looked at him. She knew he meant it, but the fact that he still kept Dart when they both knew he could be dangerous disappointed her. "I know, Dustin. It's okay. It's not your fault," was all she said before Steve reappeared.

"Get down here," He said, shining the flashlight at the two. The two climbed down the shed and followed Steve.

"Oh shit! Oh shit!" Dustin shouted.

"No way," Olivia gasped, looking at the hole that Dart had created in the earth. That was impossible.

            Dart had escaped.

The next morning, the trio walked along the train tracks, tossing meat behind them to to lead him towards the junkyard Dustin told them about. Olivia and Steve were walking next to each other with Dustin a little ahead of them. "So," Steve began to say as he threw meat behind him. Things were a little awkward between the two as Steve ended up sleeping in her bed the night before. "Why did Dustin keep this potentially dangerous pet anyway?" He asked curiously.

"It's about a girl," Olivia admitted. "He wanted to impress this girl that he likes."

"Ah," Steve said knowingly. "How long has he known this girl?"

"He just met her actually," She stated.

Steve looked at her incredulously and jogged a few steps ahead to catch up to Dustin. "All right, so let me get this straight. You kept something you knew was probably dangerous in order to impress a girl who... you just met?"

"All right, that's grossly oversimplifying things," Dustin responded and shot a glare at his sister behind. Olivia shrugged and smiled sheepishly. She still couldn't get over the fact that her little brother had a crush. It was adorable.

"I mean, why would a girl like some nasty slug anyway? Olivia doesn't like it," Steve pointed out.

"An interdimensional slug?" Dustin corrected. "Because it's awesome." He exclaimed. Olivia rolled her eyes. Classic Dustin, she thought.

"Well even if she thought it was cool, which she didn't, I just... I don't know. I just feel like you're trying way too hard." Steve said honestly, continuing to toss more meat onto the tracks.

"Well, not everyone can have your perfect hair, all right?" Dustin sighed. Olivia tried to hold back her giggle.

"It's not about the hair, man. The key with girls is just acting like you don't care," Olivia raised her eyebrows, not liking Steve's advice. She was about to interrupt their conversation and say that he was wrong, but she kind of wanted to hear where he was going with this.

"Even if you do?" Dustin asked, confused.

"Yeah, exactly, it drives them nuts."

"Dusty, this is possibly the worst advice I have heard," Olivia disagreed. "Don't listen to Steve. Just be yourself."

"Be yourself? That's the best you got?" Steve said playfully. "No, no. Don't listen to her, man. Just act like you don't care."

              "Then what?" Dustin quizzed.

"You just wait until uh..." Steve turned Olivia, who quickly went back to tossing more meat on the tracks before turning back to Dustin. "...until you feel it," He finished, nudging Dustin's shoulder.

            "Feel what?"

"It's like before it's gonna storm, you know?" Steve tried to explain. "You can't see it, but you can feel it, like this, uh... electricity, you know?"

"Oh, like in the electromagnetic field when the clouds in the atmosphere-" Dustin spoke with innocence. Olivia covered her mouth so she wouldn't giggle again. Her brother was so wholesome and sweet without even knowing it.

Steve cut him off, "No, no, no, no, no. Like a... like a sexual electricity."

"Oh," Dustin mumbled. "So have you felt that with Olivia?"

Olivia picked up a small rock and threw it on her brother. "Dustin!" She exclaimed.

"Hey! What was that for?" Dustin complained.

"Steve and I are just friends," Olivia stated.

"Yeah, yeah," Steve nodded, though Dustin noticed a little sadness in his tone. "Anyways," Steve moved on. "You feel that and then you make your move."

"So that's when you kiss her?" Dustin asked.

Steve was thrown off by his question. "No, whoa, whoa. Slow down, Romeo. Sure, okay, some girls, yeah, they want you to be aggressive. You know, strong, hot and heavy, like a... I don't know, like a lion. But others, you gotta be slow, you gotta be stealthy, like a... like a ninja," He revealed.

"What type is Liv?" Dustin asked curiously.

"Yeah, what type am I, Steve?" Olivia teased, folding her arms. A part of her wanted to know what Steve thought of her and another part of her didn't. They barely knew each other so she wondered what he even had to say about her.

"Olivia's different," Steve stated, and looked at her with soft smile on his face.

"How am I different?" The girl wondered. Different. What was that supposed to mean? She hoped he had meant that in a good way.

Steve shrugged his shoulders. "You just are," He smiled.

"She is," Dustin agreed. A wave of happiness and warmth filled her at Dustin's response. "But break her heart, and I'll kill you, got that?" He threatened.

"Shut up," Steve and Olivia scoffed. Steve looked back at Olivia, and when she seemed to space out and look at the fall colors around her, he turned back to Dustin. "I would never break her heart." He whispered.

"Good," Dustin stated. "Now, back to my love life. This girl that I like is special, too, you know. It's just, like, something about her." Dustin continued.

"Woah, your not falling in love with this girl, are you?" Steve asked, taken aback.

             Dustin paused. "Uh, no. No."

Olivia knew he was lying, as he had told her himself that he had taken a liking to Max.

"Okay, good. Don't. She's only gonna break your heart, and you're way too young for that shit." Steve's heartbreaking comment made Olivia think back to Halloween night. She felt nothing but sympathy for him, she knew how much he loved Nancy. And as much as she felt guilty for thinking it, she wondered if Nancy breaking up with him was actually a good thing.

Since that memorable conversation on Halloween night, fate seemed to keep bringing Olivia and Steve back together again. It was like the universe was telling her something. She used to think that they were two completely different people who lived in different social worlds and would unlikely cross paths. But seeing Steve in this new light and how he was sweet with her and her brother made her rethink that maybe he wasn't so different from her after all.

Steve looked at Dustin. "Fabergé," He said suddenly.

            "What?"

"It's fabergé organics," Steve repeated, pointing to his hair. "The shampoo and conditioner, and when your hair's damp... it's not wet, okay? When it's damp... you do four puffs of the Farrah Fawcett spray." Olivia couldn't hold back her laugh this time. She would have never have guessed that Steve Harrington's secret to his perfect hair was using Farrah Fawcett spray. And on top of that, he revealed his secret to Dustin Henderson out of all people.

"Farrah Fawcett?" Olivia repeated, giggling. "I've used her hairspray before, actually."

"Yeah, Farrah Fawcett," Steve huffed. "You tell anyone I just told you that, either of you," He looked back at Olivia. "And your ass is grass. You guys understand?"

"Yup," Dustin nodded with a smile. Olivia thought it was cute how happy he seemed that Steve had just given him advice.

"Oh, yeah," Olivia teased. "Because I'm just so popular and will tell everyone that Steve Harrington's secret to his perfect hair is Farrah Fawcett spray." She said sarcastically, doing a little twirl as she spoke. Though even if she was popular, she would have never told anyone anyway. It wasn't her secret to tell, and she would hate to loose someone's trust. Olivia was honored that Steve trusted her and Dustin enough to tell them this.

Steve just shook his head at her. "Yeah, yeah." He couldn't understand how she didn't seem to be aware of how beautiful she was, and that just about every boy in Hawkins admired her.

Dustin stopped in his tracks. "We're here," He snapped his fingers when he realized that Steve was staring at Olivia again. "Hey lovebirds, I said we're here," He said again snapping his fingers at the two and pointed to the old junkyard that was just ahead of them.
