CHAPTER SIX

ALYS HAD KNOWN THAT JAIME WAS STILL A KINGSGUARD MEMBER. But she hadn't excepted to meet him in such an unexpected way. He still had those beautiful glistening emerald eyes that could cast you in a spell and never let you go. His golden hair shining under the light and she felt herself hold herself trying not to run her hands through his hair.

She could still remember their promise. That was something Alys would never forget.

"I love you Jaime"

"I love you too" he stopped and stared at me. "And I will forever"

Well, let's just say that that didn't happen. She had met him during the tourney at Harrenhal, when he was getting his armor on. He didn't have a squire for belt him, so Alys offered help.

"Need any help?"

Jaime turner around, quite startled that someone was inside his tent. His eyes met her and arched in confusion, "And you know how to, my Lady?"

Alys chuckled and nodded her head. She went up to him and put on his armor, trying not to squirm at his eyes burning on her face. She didn't know why she offered to help, but she felt like she needed to do it.

"Any why pray to tell my Lady, that you offered help. And who exactly are you?"

Alys smirked and stood up."Well, I am Alys Stark daughter of Rickard Stark," She saw how Jaime's eyes grew in shock. She supposed he didn't notice her in the carriage.

"And I have done this too many times to count Ser Jaime. I have two brothers always needing my help"

Jaime felt quite shocked. Even Cersei didn't offer him any help, let alone any Lady. Jaime had learnt that he was quite the charmer, making all the maiden he saw blush at the sight of him. And somehow that did make Jaime have quite the large ego. His father had always told him he was a slow learner. But none of the Lady's would have offered him to put on his armor, that much was Jaime sure of.

That did make Jaime feel quite taken with her. But he knew that Cersei was going to kill him if he found a Stark inside his tent. Gods how he didn't want that to happen.

Jaime nodded while giving her a grin. "Well, my Lady. It seems like you were quite the help, probably even better then my own squire. I hope to meet you soon, my Lady"

Alys knew who Jaime was the minute she was him. It wasn't quite hard. The Lannister's were famous for their golden hair and green eyes. She had met with Lady Cersei a few hours ago, and that was plain right horrifying. She was awful, and it was quite shocking to find out that Jaime and Cersei was even related. Whereas Cersei was horrible and mean, Jaime was playfully and quite a git, but not a horrible person overall.

Alys felt herself smile and answer back,

"I hope so too, Ser Jaime"

She had not excepted him in front of her on her own wedding. Jaime stands there awkwardly, trying not to look into her eyes. But when he did he could not help himself but let his eyes soften. He did care for Alys, more then he would like to admit. Yet he didn't know if that was such a good thing to do, seeing as she was to be Queen.

Honestly he had not thought that Alys would be the next Queen. He had thought his sister to be it. He was surprised to hear that Robert rejected his sister and accepted the marriage to Alys Stark. His father had been furious when he got the news, deeming Robert a coward and a drunk, and honestly he was not wrong.

Jaime stared at her his eyes looking at her up and down. She was even more beautiful then he remembered.

"Alys" he didn't know what to except her to say. But he wanted a word at least. Alys stares at him quite shocked.

She was not sure what she should say. She took a few steps closer to him and looked at him. "It's good to see you again"

Jaime suddenly remembered that Alys was supposed to be at her wedding ceremony in the Sept.

"The king ordered me to escort you to the carriage"

Alys figured that this was not exciting a good time to talk about their past, so she decides to drop their subject and allow Jaime to escort her to her carriage. Jon Arryn was supposed to walk her down the isle. Seeing as neither Alys nor Robert had any fathers, Robert politely asked his hand to do the honor. Jon Arryn is a nice and honorable person, most like her brother and she did quite enjoy his company.

But what Alys didn't understand was why Robert asked a man she didn't know nearly anything about instead of questioning her about it.

Jaime helped her in the carriage where she was met with Jon Arryn. She was nervous so she only greeted him as he congratulated her. It was quite a long way to Baelor's sept seeing as the road was very thin, and took twice the time to arrive there.

Alys could hear the people shout out to her, their new Queen. She always did have a soft spot for beggars and the poor. She lived a life where she always was comfortable, whereas the others weren't so lucky. She pulled the curtain away and opened up the window. She pulled her head out and waved at them with the perfect smile she could muster.

Best people see her as happy.

The crowd cheered at their new Queen, happy that she gave quite the example.

The carriage finally stopped at the sept and Jaime came and opened the carriage door for her before helping her down.

She met his eyes and quietly whispered, "Thank you"

She couldn't see his reaction as she was pulled by the hand ushering her forward. She could feel her heart hammering on her chest. This was not something she was excited about. As she was standing on top of the stairs with Jon Arryn at her side. She could see all those jealous and angry glares by the Lady's. Most of all, she could see Lady Cersei's glare.

Alys wanted to bury her head deep in the sand.

All eyes were on her including Robert. He had his eyes locked on hers. Though he had an emotion in his eyes that she could not put a finger to.

Jon Arryn walked her to Robert where he took her small hand in his large one. He didn't look at her anymore and Alys could see that Jon flashed her a pitiful look.       Spare your looks, Lord hand. I am not some weak woman.

The septic began to talk. Alys could feel her hands tighten around Robert's and she was sure he could feel that she was nervous.

"Now you may look upon each other and say the words."

She gave a shaky breath and turned to look at Robert. And just now she realized how much larger Robert actually was standing over her. He was like a big mountain, and Alys herself was not a very large person. So she could only guess of how large the night difference is.

She looked at Robert right into his sky blue eyes and said the words as he did his.

"Mother, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger I am his and he is mine. To this day until the end of my days"

They learned in, though Alys had to stand in her tippitoes to reach him. They barely kissed before Robert hastily pulled away. She had expected it, but deep down she was hurt. It was as if she hadn't lost more people then him. Robert had only lost Lyanna whom was never truly his, while her and Ned lost both their parents and their sister, and people do not see us weak. Perhaps Robert is a fool for getting the Iron Throne.

She could only hope for a happy life, for it is much better to hope then to lose hope.
