But when Bradley applied to flight school, eager to follow in his father's footsteps, Maverick pulled his papers, sending him back four years.

Bradley never understood why, and the rift between them grew deeper. The boy she once trusted with her secrets became a stranger, his playful grin replaced by something harder. The space between them, once filled with shared laughter and trust, was now filled with resentment and unspoken words. Alexa was torn—loyal to her father, yet aching for the hurt she saw in Bradley's eyes every time their paths crossed.

By the time Bradley joined the Navy, the bond they'd once shared had been replaced by something colder. They were no longer childhood friends—they were rivals, each of them scarred by the silence that had grown between them. But even then, Alexa knew: Bradley had always been her biggest supporter, her first love. Now, he was just a reminder of what they'd lost.

Years later, Alexa's called back for a dangerous mission—one no one else is brave enough to take on. But when she walks into the briefing room, there he is. Bradley Bradshaw. He's no longer the carefree kid she grew up with. He's hardened, guarded—carrying the weight of his own demons. It hits her like a wave: the memories, the hurt, everything they'd been to each other. Hello beautiful people, Top Gun is one of my favorite movies EVER, this story has been coming in and out of drafts but I feel so happy that this version is finally the final one, writing this has been a lot of fun for me, I have so many plans for the story that I am so glad you gave it a chance and were able to read it.
