The leaf was looking for very festive, a sight that would greet you only once in a long while.
The shops and stalls were filled with families, friends and others – visiting, buying and just watching.
The kids ran around in groups, in families, chasing after one another and trying the different games out.
A family of two blonde males and a redheaded female came into her line of sight, they were all calling her.
She felt herself moving towards them. Walking towards them, her legs going forward as if it was being controlled.
The blurry view started to become clearer and clearer.. the more she moved closer and closer.
Right when they were to become no more blurry, she felt herself struggling to breathe.
She shot up, with sweat trailing down her skin and her hair all messed up.
She was on her bed.
No- a spare bed in her past parent's home.
Fire alarms rang in her head and she jumped out from he- the bed.., her body moving towards the smell.
"Kushina-san?" she saw her standing in front of the gas stove, "What are you doing?"
Kushina looked embarrassed, she turned to her sheepishly and directed her eyes towards the table where you could see... burnt balls..?
"What's that?" She questioned, wary.
"Wanna taste?" Kushina offered her a bowl.
She received the bowl with doubtful eyes.
Kushina was amused, looking at the girl who was behaving as if she was feeding her poison.
"Is this.. natto?"
"That was the intention.. yes." Kushina added vegetables to the soup she was making for breakfast.
"I saw it in a magazine not long ago that natto is a dish that you can't go wrong with and all. Although. I don't personally like it very much.. the texture is kind of a turn-off. And I know how that sounds like yes, you shouldn't judge a food by it's texture or whatever.. but I just don't like it." she rambled, nearly hitting everything in the kitchen with her ladle.
"I don't really like it either. Kushina-san." She put the bowl down and secretly decided to call it the Bowl straight from the slimy depths of Tartarus.
"It's because I burnt it, isn't it?"
"No, not really. I share the same opinion as you."
"Really?! Phew, thank god. I thought you would be like Minato or something. Then I guess... hmmm.. he can eat it if he wants to judge my taste so much." she huffed slightly, purposely acting dramatic.
"I'm just going to go wash up." Miyuki announced when she saw Minato walk in the kitchen.
"What's this?" he asked, looking at the bowl of slimy, coal-like object.
The house was filled with quiescence.
No one moved.
Two dark eyes stared at each other from both ends of the table.
They were engaged in an unofficial staring contest.
No one blinked.
It seemed that this would last a long time.
They were both undefeatable, both reigning in their own categories.
The sky would turn dark and they still wouldn't mo-
The younger Kakashi blinked.
"I won" Himeru smiled.
Kakashi wondered if smiling would look like blinking for him as well. But he also noted that for some reason, it was easy to tell apart whether he was smiling or blinking.
"Eat your breakfast." Himeru served him a bowl of rice with vegetables. "We have to meet up with the others soon."
"I don't like your cooking."
"Well, we don't have a cook so I would say you have to deal with it."
They were interrupted in their childish banter by the ringing of the doorbell.
Himeru stood up to open the door. He didn't even need to think twice about who would be on the other side of the door.
The eager heads of Obito and Rin popped in.
"oh"
"Himeru-san, is Kakashi here?"
"Yes, come in."
The both of them did not need to be told twice.
Obito was the first to speak, "Hey Bakashi, I am earlier than you."
"For the first time in your life, you are early." Kakashi retorted gulping a glass of water.
"It's not the first.!" Obito was interrupted by Himeru.
"Now, now, don't fight in the kitchen. Let him eat first. Obito, Rin." Himeru reprimanded the two of them.
"They don't have to wait for me." Kakashi told him.
"No need to be embarrassed." Himeru teased.
"I am not embarrassed!"
"Kakashi's embarrassed!" Obito teased.
"I said I'm not!"
"Let's say you are not. Can you three walk to the spot by yourselves? I have to go somewhere." Himeru started making his way out the door.
"No problem, Himeru-san. We can get there by ourselves." Rin assured him.
"Kakashi, were you and Miyuki the only ones to be sent on this mission?" the Hokage asked - no, questioned him.
"Yes, I do not know of any once else. However, if the Fifth sent someone after us, then that's a different case."
"Thank you, you can go back now." the Hokage got back to scanning a piece of paper, the same one he was staring at when they entered.
"So, you think there was something in the paper?" Miyuki asked him.
They were making their way to the spot where they had planned on meeting up. A few minutes late but Kakashi assured her Obito would somehow find a way to still be late despite being with the other two.
"Maybe someone entered after us?" Kakashi told her what he had been thinking.
"Why would she though? She knows we would end up here so why would she let someone else go after us?"
He wasn't in a hurry to reach the rendezvous. Instead, he opted to bring her to a tea shop for some quiet time – as he called it.
"Maybe someone fell inside by accident?" He answered, clearly not serious while he sat down at the tea shop while reading the icha-icha, making sure to hide the cover to be careful.
"Could you please focus on what we are talking about, Kakashi?" Miyuki nearly whined, her hand twitching slightly.. resisting the urge to burn down that crap book.
The Hokage wondered what he had had gotten himself into. He had seen a lot of things during his time on this earth but this still managed to give him a headache.
Playing around with time was one of the most unnerving thing that anyone could ever experience.
Some would say it's impossible to play around with time, but he knew better.
The Second Hokage, his own teacher, had known that it was possible.
The legend of old, so maybe that was really true.
He remembered the words of his teacher when he was next in line for the seat, the legend of the Clan Unseen.
The paper was still there on the table, it was written I'm a rush and there was a smudge of ink on the paper as well.
"Hokage-sama,
I am writing this as per Tsunade-sama's orders.
There is a blonde kid here claiming to be from the future. He knows important things about about and Leaf that even Tsunade-sama is slightly convinced. However, Tsunade-sama has knocked him out after he made some rather unpleasant comments.
Tsunade-sama wishes you will take care of this situation and not get her included in this event.
Kindly,
Shizune."
