Christmas break had finally come and Evangeline couldn't be happier. She was excited to see Remus and Tonks again. She and Vivian sat in a cabin with Hermione. The three were discussing what their plans were for the break. Cleo was sat in a different cabin with Harry and Ron. The girl had planned on figuring out what was going on with the redheaded boy. Evangeline wanted no part in it.
It wasn't long after the train was in motion that Evangeline had gotten up to use the bathroom. She made her way through the train to where the bathroom was. She made it to the bathroom and not too long after, she was done. Evangeline made her way down the train and back to her cabin. She stopped at a cabin when she saw the glass was fogged.
As she looked closer, she noticed that in the fog was a heart. Inside the heart was 'R+L'. Evangeline looked up and into the cabin, seeing Harry, Cleo, and Ron all looking at her. Her eyes met Ron's and she briefly stared at him. She looked back at the heart and rolled her eyes, continuing on her way back to her cabin.

The Caspian sisters made it back home with Remus and Tonks. The two were now engaged and Evangeline was over the moon. The sisters decided that they wanted to do something big for them as a sort of congratulations gift. Neither adult wanted it though, so Vivian and Evangeline settled on cooking them dinner. But the problem with that was that cooking wasn't either of the girl's specialty.
And when the girls were almost successful in burning the house down, Remus and Tonks decided to take over. They were now sat around the table, eating dinner. Now that they were all comfortable, Evangeline had become immersed in her thoughts. "So, how's school going? Preparing for you N.E.W.T.s yet, Evangeline?" Remus asked. The girl shrugged, picking at her food. Remus and Nymphadora looked at one another, the woman slightly concerned.
"School's great," Vivian decided to answer. "Evangeline was telling me that she would register for the Apparition class next term, isn't that right, Evangeline?" She continued. "Yeah," Evangeline replied. "You'll need money for that won't you? How much is it now?" Nymphadora asked, looking over at Remus. "Uh, I believe it's twelve galleons," he replied. The three looked at Evangeline who was now taking a bite of her food.
"Angi, what's wrong?" Nymphadora asked. Evangeline looked up at her and shook her head. "Nothing. Sorry, I was just thinking," she mumbled. "Hopefully not about that Weasley," Remus said distastefully. Nymphadora immediately sent a smack to his abdomen and he grunted. She scowled at him, shaking her head. She then turned back to Evangeline, a sympathetic look in her eyes.
"Vivian told us about, what happened," she explained, choosing her words carefully. Evangeline sighed, looking at her sister who was shoveling food into her mouth to avoid explaining herself to the younger girl. "I never liked that boy," Remus said, shaking his head. "Oh yeah, since when?" Nymphadora asked. "Since he decided to be an idiot and— Ow!" Remus was saying when Nymphadora stomped on his foot.
He looked at her in annoyance. "I'm just saying that—" He stopped speaking upon noticing the woman's glare. He looked down at his food and stuffed a forkful of it into his mouth. "Do you want to talk about it?" Nymphadora asked, her attention now back to Evangeline, who was instantly shaking her head 'no'.
"No. I do not want to talk about it or him or what happened. I just want to eat my dinner in peace. Can I do that? Can we just sit here and have a nice celebratory dinner?" Evangeline said, growing more upset with each passing moment. Nymphadora nodded her head in understanding. "Yeah, of course we can," she answered. Evangeline nodded and looked down at her food.
The air in the room had shifted and became awkward. No one said a word and Evangeline continued to pick at her food. Her fork stabbed into a piece of meat and she lifted it up and examined it before dropping her fork back onto the plate. "Can I be excused?" Evangeline asked. The three looked up at her and she cleared he throat.
"Of course," Remus replied. Evangeline quickly pushed her seat back and stood, scurrying out of the dining room. She clenched and unclenched her fists as she made her way to her room. She hated that she was upset. She hated that the very mention of Ron made her want to run for the hills. She hated that she had all of these feelings. She just wanted to get over this. She wanted to get over him.
But it's hard. It's so damn hard and she hated that it was. She still had feelings for the boy. The very boy who broke her heart. She had feelings for him and they just won't go away. And she hated that too. She entered her room and accidentally slammed the door too hard. Evangeline sighed in frustration and flung herself onto her bed. She grabbed a pillow and placed it over her face before screaming into it. The pillow successfully muffled the sound.
She then threw the pillow back to it's place and sighed, staring up at the ceiling. She just wanted it all to stop. She wanted the pain to go away. She didn't want to have these feelings anymore. All Evangeline wanted was to go back to who she was before.
Before the friends and the feelings. She wanted to go back to not giving a shit about anyone or anything. Because things were a lot easier when she didn't care. When she didn't feel. Maybe if she could go back to not feeling, the pain would finally go away for good.
••••
The next few days were quiet for Evangeline. She spent the majority of them on her own, immersed in her thoughts. When she was at Hogwarts, she didn't have too much time to think about the things that happened with Ron. She had pushed her feelings away and just tried to get over it. But now that she was home, things were different.
Evangeline had nothing to do at home besides relax. And because she wasn't busy, she had plenty of time dwell on the event that left her in the state that she was in. Confused, hurt, and angry.
She tried busying herself by doing little tasks around the house. But even that couldn't keep her thoughts at bay. And in the end, she was back to thinking about a certain redhead with bright blue eyes and who blushed way too much. Evangeline almost found herself smiling at the thought of him and his stupidly cute face. She groaned, dropping her face into her hands.
Evangeline rubbed her hands down her face and sighed. She needed to stop thinking about him. She wanted to stop thinking about him. Her mind kept telling her that she should hate him. But her heart wouldn't let her.
The youngest Caspian girl picked up a plate and went back to scrubbing it. She was trying to distract herself in the best way that she knew possible: cleaning. It wasn't something that she enjoyed doing, but it usually helped take her mind off of things. It wasn't helping as much as it usually did, but it was helping, if only a little.
She scrubbed on the plate even harder in order to get a stain out. "What are you doing?" Remus asked from behind her. She jumped slightly, not hearing the man come into the kitchen. "Don't sneak up on me like that," she said, sending him a glare before going back to scrubbing the plate. "Is there a reason you're going around the house and cleaning like a madwoman?" He asked, leaning against the counter next to the sink.
"The house is filthy. I had to clean it," Evangeline said as she continued to scrub the plate. The stain just wouldn't come out. "The house was not filthy. I would know, I cleaned it only yesterday, which you would know if you bothered coming out of your room," he replied. Evangeline rolled her eyes at his last remark. "Well, you obviously didn't do a very good job," she responded and he chuckled.
"I'm gonna try not to be offended," Remus joked. Evangeline sighed, "Did you need something?" She turned to look at him, her eyebrows raised. He stared at her for a moment, his eyes a little sad. "I just wanted to see how you were," he said. Evangeline turned back to the plate in her hand. "I'm fine," she replied. Remus shook his head, "I don't believe you."
Evangeline shrugged in response. Remus sighed and pushed himself off of the counter. "I'm worried about you, Evangeline," he admitted. "There's nothing for you to be worried about," she replied, shaking her head. "Stop doing that. Stop pretending that you're fine when you and I both know that you're not," he said. She sighed again and scrubbed harder.
"You're not alone, Evie. You can talk to me, or Dora, or Vivian. We're here for you," he continued. Evangeline took a breath of air, growing annoyed. "Dora thinks that it would be best to talk about it. You know, the whole thing about bottling up feelings and such—"
"There's nothing to talk about. I'm not bottling up anything, all right? I'm fine!" Evangeline exclaimed, cutting him off. She scrubbed the plate in her hand so hard that it broke. Some glass from the plate cut the palm of her left hand and she hissed, pulling her hand away from the sink. Blood dripped from her palm and onto the ground. Her right hand came to clutch onto her left as Remus grabbed a rag.
He took her hand and pressed the rag against the injury. Evangeline didn't look at him, instead looking at her injured hand. "You're mighty strong, breaking a plate like that," he said, trying to lighten the tension in the kitchen. "Sorry," she muttered. He just shook his head, "Nothing to be sorry for. But maybe, we should have that talk."
She sighed, finally looking up at him. "Or better yet, talk to your sister," he said. Evangeline pursed her lips in thought. "I'm gonna go get the first aid kit. Keep pressure on that," he said, pointing to her hand and walking out of the kitchen. Evangeline bit her lip and went to sit in a chair.
She didn't want to talk to anyone. Talking wouldn't do anything but make her feel worse. And vulnerable. She didn't want to feel vulnerable. She just wanted to be left alone.

Emotional Evangeline is not my favorite Evangeline. But, she's human and she has feelings so it's only normal for her to be upset. Especially after opening her heart up to someone and that person breaking it. I just wanted to show you guys this side of her. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter.
