DON'T COMMENT FOR ME TO UPDATE!
Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes truly was a sight. The store was bright and colorful and filled to the brim with stuff. Fireworks and multiple other objects flew throughout the store, Evangeline constantly ducking to avoid getting hit. She, Hermione, Ron, Harry, and Ginny had all went to the store to check things out.
George and Fred were really good at this. They did an amazing job with the store, everything looked amazing. And, they were incredible salesmen. They almost convinced Evangeline to buy a Screaming Yo-Yo. Almost.
She was currently looking at different objects whilst Hermione and Ginny were looking at a batch of love potions. Fred and George had approached them, matching smiles on their faces. "Hello, ladies," they said simultaneously. "Love potions, eh?" One questioned. "Yeah. They really do work," the other said. "Then again the way we hear it, sis, you're doing just fine on your own."
Evangeline turned to face them, her eyebrows raised. "Meaning?" Ginny asked. "Are you not currently dating Dean Thomas?" Evangeline turned to look at Ginny. This was the first time she was hearing about this. "That's none of your business," Ginny replied, putting down the love potion and walking away from the table. Evangeline walked closer to where Hermione stood.
"Why are you looking at love potions again?" She asked. Hermione quickly placed the potion down. "No reason. I'm just looking," she replied. Evangeline nodded disbelievingly. She looked around the store to see Cormac McLaggen looking at Hermione. Evangeline's face scrunched up in disgust. Hermione seemed to notice him staring and grew uncomfortable.
A few feet away from Cormac stood Aldon Carlisle, who was also staring at Hermione. Evangeline looked at Hermione who was looking at Aldon with wide eyes. Evangeline turned away. "What is happening?" She whispered to herself. She walked away from her friend. She continued to make her way through the store, looking for something that could benefit her.
She found a bruise removal paste and picked it up, flipping it over and reading what it said. "Guaranteed to remove any bruise in only an hour," she read to herself. "Could be useful," she said before going to look for a price. When she couldn't find one, she decided to go and find one of the Weasley twins.
Evangeline found them on the stairs talking to Ron and she quickly made her way over to them. "Oi, how much for this?" She asked once she reached them. "Well, it's usually six galleons," Fred answered. "But for you, it's on the house," George said. Evangeline smiled, "Really?" The two nodded. "In fact, you can have whatever you like, on the house," Fred continued.
"Thanks, but it'll just be this," she said. "All right," George replied. "Enjoy," they said simultaneously, beginning to walk up the stairs again. "Thanks guys," she called after them. They stopped and turned back to her. "Anything for you, snakey," they said at the same time again. She rolled her eyes at the nickname, turning to Ron who was looking between her and his brothers. His mouth was open in shock.
Evangeline furrowed her eyebrows. "What? Did I miss something?" She questioned. "Nope," the twins replied before making their way up the stairs again. Evangeline stared after them in confusion before turning back to Ron. She raised an eyebrow. He shook his head, "Nothing. Let's just go." He took ahold of her hand, intertwining their fingers together and began pulling her down the stairs.
"Aren't you going to buy anything?" She asked him as he pulled her along behind him. Harry and Hermione were already waiting at the bottom of the stairs. "Nope," he responded. Evangeline shrugged it off as they met up with Harry and Hermione. "We're leaving, I guess," she told the two. They looked at her in confusion and she shrugged. They then made their way to the door.
Evangeline could sense that Ron was upset and she squeezed his hand. He turned to look at her, a smile making its way to his face. She smiled back. They walked past a group of people as they headed to the door. "Hi, Ron," a feminine voice said. Both Ron and Evangeline turned to the girl. She looked vaguely familiar. She had pale skin and curly blonde hair.
Evangeline furrowed her eyebrows at the girl. She was looking at Ron as if he were her prey and she was about to pounce. Evangeline didn't like the way she was looking at him. "Hi," he replied politely, the confusion easily detectable in his voice. To Evangeline at least. He pulled on her hand and the two began walking again. Evangeline could sense the girl staring after them and she turned to look back at her.
The girl was glaring at Evangeline who sent her a look of distaste back. The four made it out onto Diagon Alley. The stores were all dark and Evangeline frowned at the contrast between Fred and George's store and the rest of the stores on the street.
"How are Fred and George doing it? Half the alley's closed down," Hermione said. "Fred reckons people need a laugh these days," Ron answered, his hand still tightly holding Evangeline's. "I reckon he's right," Harry said. The four walked past Ollivanders and Evangeline frowned at the sight. "Oh no. Everyone got their wands from Ollivanders," Hermione said.
Evangeline thought back to when she got her first wand. It was the day after her eleventh birthday and she had been so excited. She had been bugging her aunt and uncle about it and even they were happy when the time finally came. They would finally get her to shut up. That day, she had tried out many different wands until she found the one. Her wand was her second favorite thing that she owned.
She began playing with the amulet around her neck as Harry walked to the shop. He opened the door and the four entered. Evangeline let go of Ron's hand as she began looking around the shop. It was completely wrecked. There was nothing left but blackened furniture, destroyed by a fire. "Harry," Ron called. He was stood by a window and Harry made his way over to him. "Is it me or does Draco and mummy look like two people who don't want to be followed?" He asked his friend.
The two girls walked over to where they stood, peering out of the window as well. Evangeline could see Draco and Narcissa Malfoy looking extremely suspicious as they made their way down Knockturn Alley.
The four found themselves following after the two. They passed a man who was talking to the wall, or maybe to himself, Evangeline wasn't sure. She looked at him as he mumbled something about someone who will never leave him. After hearing this, she quickened her pace. The two Malfoys walked into a store called Borgin and Burkes. The four hid behind a wall to avoid being seen.
Before she knew it, Evangeline found herself on the roof of the building beside the shop, Harry, Ron, and Hermione by her side. "This is stupid," she whispered. "You can say that again," Hermione whispered back. Harry turned around and shushed them, both girls giving him a dirty look in response. They peered over the the angled roof and looked into one of Borgin and Burkes' dirty windows.
She squinted her eyes and shifted forward slightly, trying to get a better look at what was happening. Narcissa was placing a kiss on Draco's cheek. When a figure stepped in front of the window, the four quickly ducked down. They remained hidden until a curtain was pulled in front of the window. Harry was the first one to sit up.
He stared at the window, though they were no longer able to see anything. "We should go," Evangeline whispered to the three. "I agree," Ron said, nodding his head. The four carefully made their way off of he room and were quickly leaving the sketchy alley.
Evangeline didn't know what was going on in that shop. But whatever it was, could not have been good.
