"mommy!!"
taehyung looked up, smiling as his daughter clumsily ran into the kitchen, attacking his legs in a hug.
"hi honey, how was school?" he asked, lifting her up from the ground onto his hip.
"good! i made paper planes with mrs. kelly!" she said.
"awe, that's awesome!! where is your brother?" he asked, kissing her cheek and setting the whisk in his hand down.
"he's with daddy, he can't get his shoe off." she explained.
"ah, i see." taehyung smiled, carrying her over to the front door. there was jeongguk, kneeling down and trying to untie their sons shoe.
"jihwan, what did you get into now?" taehyung asked, giggling as he saw that his shoelaces were tied at least six times.
he looked up, smiling at the sight of his mommy. "channie tied my shoes like this at recess!!" he explained.
jeongguk huffed, taking out the last knot and pulling off jihwan's shoes.
taehyung smiled, looking up at his husband and kissing him sweetly.
jeongguk kissed him back with a smile, rubbing his back.
"how was work?" taehyung asked, setting areum down. she ran off and went to go find yeontan and captain.
"it was good. and for you?" jeongguk asked, wrapping his arms fully around him and swaying back and forth.
taehyung smiled, kissing his nose. "great. gucci contacted me." he said proudly.
jeongguk's eyes widened. "what?? no way!" he said.
taehyung nodded happily. "mhm! and they want me to design something for them!!"
jeongguk laughed, lifting him off the ground. "that's amazing! you've always wanted to work for gucci." he said, setting him down.
taehyung giggled, smiling brightly and hugging him tight.

these past seven years had really paid off for them. jeongguk graduated with a football scholarship and went to his dream college, majoring in literature. he now taught college students as an english professor.
taehyung graduated a year later, going across the country to study at a high class design school to be a fashion designer. it was difficult for the both of them due to the distance, but they made it work.
they would facetime every night, visit each other twice a month, and send letters back and forth all the time.
once they graduated, they reunited in their home town. jin and namjoon got married and moved into a fancy downtown loft. jin's restaurant became one of the top restaurants in their city, and namjoon became principal of their old high school.
yoongi is now a producer and songwriter, hoseok and jimin went along to become professional dance instructors. the trio were still together, traveling the world with each other.
taehyung and jeongguk got married a year after they graduated from college, adopting twins areum and jihwan.
they stayed in taehyung's old home, while jin moved out. it was big enough for the four of them and their dogs, and had the perfect homey feel.
jackson and chanyeol would visit them often, they'd all sit down for coffee or tea and laugh about old times.
chanyeol had moved on from jeongguk and married rosé, their favourite store clerk. jackson became a football coach at their high school.
everyone was happy, and everyone got to live out their dream.

"kids come downstairs, it's movie time!!" taehyung called out, snuggling into jeongguk's embrace. areum and jihwan came running, their little feet padding against the wood floors as they jumped onto their parents.
jeongguk groaned with a chuckle, lifting areum up and holding her in his arms.
taehyung smiled and snuggled with jihwan, kissing his forehead and starting the movie.
"what are we watching mommy?" jihwan asked.
"up." taehyung replied, ruffling his hair, glancing at jeongguk.
the older smiled knowingly. it was the movie they watched with everyone when he asked him to homecoming. he remembered how when it came to the sad parts, taehyung would start tearing up and trying to hold in his cries but he just held him close and played with his hair, and he cried it out.
they all got comfy, the dogs snuggling with them too. a bowl of popcorn was shared between all of them, snacking on it during the whole movie.
areum would sneak some popcorn pieces to yeontan, giggling as he munched them up.
"mommy, why do the other kids at school have girl mommies?" areum asked all of a sudden.
taehyung paused the movie, smiling gently. "well, your daddy and i are gay, so neither of us are able to have children. girls can." he started.
areum nodded, remembering how her parents always taught her that liking the same sex was perfectly okay.
"usually, children call the woman in the family their mommy. and since neither of us are female, we just decided for you guys to call me mommy. you could easily call me daddy too, but... it's easier that way when you tell others, that you have a mom and dad." he explained.
"but.... what if i wanna say i have two dads?" jihwan asked.
"you certainly can if you want to, baby." taehyung said, rubbing his head.
"is it bad to have two dads?" areum asked.
taehyung sighed, looking over at her. "some people think so. but we don't listen to those people. because they're wrong. it's perfectly okay to have two dads." he said.
"mommy's right. there will always be people trying to bring you down and stop you from doing what you love and loving who you want to love. but don't let them get to you. stand up for yourself and what you believe is right." jeongguk said softly, caressing areum's cheek.
the twins nodded with smiles on their faces, snuggling back into their parents and watching the rest of the movie.
by the time the movie was over, the twins had fallen asleep. jeongguk lifted them both into his arms, carrying them easily to their bedroom as taehyung picked up the living room and kitchen.
he yawned and stretched out tiredly, feeling arms slide around his waist from behind.
he smiled and leaned back, tilting his head and looking up at his husband.
"hi darling." jeongguk murmured, kissing him sweetly.
"hi." he smiled, kissing him back.
"what are you thinking about?" jeongguk asked softly, swaying with him and resting his chin on his shoulder.
"just... everything that's happened since we first met." he whispered.
"it's been a long road, hasn't it?" jeongguk asked, sighing and closing his eyes.
taehyung hummed as a reply. "i'm so happy, gguk. i'm the happiest i've ever been. we have two wonderful kids, everyone we know is still together and living amazing lives, we have our dream jobs, it's everything we could ask for." he whispered.
"i'm happy too. ever since i started crushing on you, i would always dream of my future with you. and my dream came true. i'm so in love with you, tae. and i love our kids." he said softly, kissing his neck.
taehyung smiled, turning around to face him. he cupped his cheeks in his hands, staring at his husband.
"we did it." tae whispered, pressing their foreheads together.
jeongguk grinned widely, his signature bunny smile. taehyung did the same, his boxy smile reaching from ear to ear.
"we did it."
