"i literally don't care, do it yourself." yoongi muttered, watching as jeongguk threw on a shirt.

"you should, you're my best friend." jeongguk said, turning towards yoongi.

"i'm not talking to taehyung for you. just go up to him. he's such a sweetheart, it's not like he's gonna say no and walk away." yoongi said, sitting up and sighing, stretching his arms.

"but—"

"jeongguk. don't worry about rejection. this isn't my business but jimin says taehyung gets bullied, a lot. he's used to rejection, he doesn't have that many friends. i'm sure he will be perfectly fine with talking to you." yoongi said.

"i know but why would somebody bully him? he's so cute." jeongguk said.

"because. not everyone likes it when a guy acts or looks feminine. just because you find it cute, not everyone else does." yoongi explained.

"i know. it sucks that people judge others by how they look." jeongguk muttered, throwing his backpack over his shoulder.

"it sure does."

once they arrived at school, yoongi went off to find his boyfriends, leaving jeongguk to do whatever for twenty minutes until class started.

he looked around, wondering if taehyung was here yet. he decided to go to his locker, hang his bag on the hook and grab the things he needed for first period.

"...i think the main character is starting to realize that everyone is brainwashed, and that goldstein is actually good because he rebelled."

jeongguk turned around when he heard taehyung's voice, seeing him walking into mr. kims classroom with the teacher, a book open in his hand. lucky for jeongguk, he actually had something to turn in there, so he quickly gathered his things and went into the classroom.

"hi, mr. kim." jeongguk said, smiling. taehyung blushed, looking down at the book he was clutching to his chest.

"what brings you here, jeongguk?" mr. kim asked. "i'd like to turn in the assignment for our seminar." he said, handing him his completed packet.

"thank you, i'll grade that during my free period. i've heard football season has started?" he asked. jeongguk nodded, smiling. "yep! we had our first practice the other morning." he said.

"that's nice. anyways, are you here to stay for a bit? or do you have other things to do?" mr. kim asked curiously.

"uh, i can stay! if you don't mind." he said.

"go ahead." mr. kim said, smiling.

jeongguk nodded, sitting down in a random desk and leaning back in his chair, turning on his phone and scrolling through his messages.

a lot of them were from girls who got his number from someone else, but he came out as gay so he doesn't understand why they still hit him up. probably thought they could change his sexuality.

meanwhile taehyung and mr. kim were silently whispering to each other. "joonie, i'm nervous!!" he whined. "don't be! i know you can do it. jeongguk's a nice guy. just go talk to him." he said. taehyung aggressively shook his head. "taehyung. go."

taehyung let out a sigh, gulping and taking in a deep breath before turning on his heel and waddling over to jeongguk.

someone plopped down in front of jeongguk, taking his phone from his hand and replacing it with a book. "here, read this." taehyung said softly.

"what's it about?" jeongguk asked curiously, looking up at the cute boy in front of him.

"it's called 1984. a classic book. have you ever read any classics?" taehyung asked. jeongguk shook his head, feeling sheepish and guilty.

with anyone else he would've brushed it off as nothing, but with taehyung, he felt insane for not reading a book. like he was an outcast in taehyung's eyes.

"that's okay! i have a lot! i'll lend you some!" taehyung said excitedly. jeongguk smiled, opening to the first page of the book.

"1984 is about a futuristic world where the government is like super insane and restricting. it was written in 1948, so it's perception on the future is much different than ours is. but it's still interesting." taehyung explained.

jeongguk watched as taehyung spoke, seeing the passion ablaze in his irises. he'd never seen someone so pure and intelligent.

"could i borrow it and read it?" jeongguk asked. taehyung nodded with a smile.

"thanks. there's a bookmark in it, are you reading it right now??" he asked.

taehyung blushed, looking down at his lap. "i-i mean...yes, but i can finish it when you're done." he said.

"i don't want to interrupt your reading though." jeongguk said, setting the book back down on the desk and sliding it over to taehyung.

"no, no, it's okay. really. i have tons of other books to read!" he said, pushing the book back.

"no, take it back. i won't read it until you will." jeongguk said, sliding it over yet again.

taehyung put his hands on top of jeongguk's, sliding the book over and keeping his hands there. "read it!" he said, maintaining eye contact with jeongguk.

the quarterback smiled, falling into taehyung's trap. "fine. i'll read it." he said, setting the book carefully into a pocket inside his backpack.

taehyung quickly pulled his hands back, putting them in his lap and nervously tapping his foot.

"y-you're friends with yoongi right?" taehyung asked. jeongguk nodded, resting his elbows on the table. his chocolatey eyes studied taehyung's demeanor, finding it adorable that he'd nervously pull on the sleeves of his sweater.

"oh, that's cool. my best friend jiminie is dating yoongi. i've never really talked to him before, he's seems scary." taehyung admitted.

jeongguk laughed loudly, causing taehyung to look up and blush when he saw how pretty jeongguk's smile was.

"yoongi? scary? he's the biggest teddy bear i've ever met. i promise you, don't be afraid to talk to him." jeongguk said.

"are you sure??" taehyung asked.

jeongguk nodded. "yes. he can be incredibly annoying, and grumpy but that's usually only if you disturb his sleep and relaxation. other than that, he always goes soft for jimin and hoseok. he talks about them all the time." jeongguk said.

"okay. m-maybe i'll talk to him later this week." taehyung said.

"what are you doing later this week?" jeongguk asked.

"i'm going to the movies with them.." taehyung answered.

"really?" jeongguk asked with a frown.

"yes! it's going to be fun. why are you frowning?" taehyung asked, tilting his head like a puppy.

"well, aren't you worried you might fourth wheel?" jeongguk asked, confused.

"oh, i know i will. i'm used to it by now." taehyung replied, smiling.

jeongguk felt his heart drop. he knew that taehyung's only friends were mr. kim and jimin, and hoseok as well. so obviously, he'd always have to fourth wheel with jimin.

"do you.. want me to come with? keep you some company??" jeongguk asked.

taehyung's eyes widened, and he gasped softly. "y-you don't have to! r-really, don't feel pity on me. i'm fine with going with them three!! there's no need." he said, blushing deeply.

jeongguk sighed, shaking his head. "taehyung, i know you don't need me to, or i don't have to. but do you want me to? and i'm expecting an honest answer." he said.

taehyung gulped, his heart racing faster than he could process. it seemed like jeongguk already knew him too well.

"y-yes.."
