GOTHAM CITY UNIVERSITY 12:30 PM

Y/N's POV

"Y/N I expect your project to be turned in by next week I extended the deadline" your professor instructed cleaning all the utensils that were used during class today. You nod your head placing your cookbooks into your bag finally enough time for you to take care of a baby without having to stress about a project due the very same day. You can actually chill and think about what your gonna do for your project instead of rushing like you always do. "Thank you, Madam Montmorency," you say as your teacher smiles before stopping you.

"I hope little Nailah isn't any trouble to my best student," she says looking down at you. Nailah is your baby that you had with someone who wasn't your boyfriend at first but is now. It was an "accident" from what Nailah's father says a hole in the condom but you know that it wasn't true. Every girl he has fucked with before you said that he likes "hitting it raw" and that he hopes his fling isn't dumb enough to keep a baby he won't wanna have any relations with.

So you weren't surprised when you were knocking on the doorsteps of his father crying because you were young, dumb, and only did it for a good time. Lucky for you his father forced him to be in your life and since then you guys started going out and made it official the day you brought Nailah into the world. "Naw she ain't she's with her father right now cause he didn't have classes but I do gotta get her cause he does have to get ready for his soon" you answer as Madam Montmorency nods before leaning on a desk.

"I'm glad that you and Richard Grayson are co-parenting. But I hope you guys have other help as well?" Madam Montmorency asks as you nod your head "My friends help us as well as Dick's siblings" you replied as Madam Montmorency nods her head "That's good make sure you keep those people close for Nailah's sake" she says as you bob your head. Madam Montmorency walks away leaving you to your thoughts.

"Babe, are you ok? You're off in space again" your boyfriend asks softly shaking you to get your attention. You snap out of it looking at your boyfriend holding a sleepy baby in his arms "yea I'm fine just...thinking" you answer as he nods his head handing you Nailah, she shifts in your arms silently whimpering for a few seconds. "I was thinking about taking her to go see the lil mermaid" Dick request caressing her cheeks.

"I think it would be a good daddy, daughter bonding date" you answer walking out of the classroom and to the lunch hall a few doors down. "Yea I thought the same thing too" he answers rubbing his daughter's back. You look at your sleeping daughter smiling and rubbing her back "How was she?" You ask sitting down at your regular table in the back of the cafeteria.

"She was ok like she always is when she's with her daddy" he joked removing the backpack from off his back and placing it onto the table. You roll your eyes grabbing the lunch you packed for you Dick and Nailah. "Where is everyone else?" you ask as Dick shrugs his shoulders. "They should be here soon I do know Cy's Coach kept him back for practice" he answers as you nod your head and hand Nailah back to Dick.

"I guess it will be just the three of us" you speak peeking over at Nailah waking up from her slumber you smile at her as she veers around to you with a gummy grin. "Are you hungry Nailah?" you question her placing her food in front of her she doesn't say anything just stares at you with a smile. You place your hands out as Nailah whines laying closer to her father's chest. "Come on baby let me feed you!" you speak grabbing a chicken nugget she whines again wiping her face onto her father.

"Don't act like this now" you groan. Of course, you forgot Nailah is a daddy's girl, she's always clinging to her father no matter how much you try a pry her away from him. She follows (crawls) him everywhere to the balcony where he escapes away from Nailah to smoke and she's sitting at the glass window crying, to the kitchen to grab a beer to destress, and even to the bathroom.

He is never without Nailah he takes her everywhere from the Gym to his classes when your both have courses at the same time. She loves you of course usually when she wants something, or when she can't find her father.

You curse at Richard for spoiling her but he never listens. It's like Nailah was placed on this earth to terrorize you. Dick always makes sure his daughter is always taken care of and happy and with his environment of being the son of Multi Billionaire Bruce Wayne it's never a problem. "The fuck she need her own private Island for? She's a week old my nigga" You remember telling Bruce and Richard when they were discussing the future of little Nailah.

You and Richard of course come from different cultures and with that comes different ways to raising Nailah. With Dick being raised by Greek parents who are taught with a lot of fear tactics, threats, the use of exaggerated superstitions, and clinginess. And with you being raised by Haitian parents who weren't very good at communication, easily angered or annoyed, weren't good at giving you any type of privacy, blamed for almost everything, and forced to do things you didn't want to do.

You two have a different perspectives on how to Raise Nailah you wanted to be able to communicate without getting violent and irritated, you wanted to show Nailah it's ok to explain yourself and that it's always ok to express yourself, but you also wanted Nailah to trust you with everything you want to be considered Nailah's second best friend. Even though some of your parents teaching you do love and has rubbed on you.

Now Dick, even though he spoils his daughter he still comes from a family who disciplines by fear tactics, threats, and exaggerated superstitions. He still wants to be that fun, yet overprotective and strict dad that teaches Nailah manners, etiquette, and respect he might have to discipline baby Nailah by ignoring her or popping her bum but in overall it's all out of love cause that is how he was taught. he makes sure Nailah gets a taste of her Greek culture while also getting a mixture of yours.

"Don't worry bout it bae I'll feed her" he says placing Nailah on the assigned highchair that the principal and professors saved their money to buy that stays at this exact table. "Baby Nailah!" a few voices yell in unison you smile knowing who it is they sit down across from you a Dick and Smile at the baby giggling at the new attention. "How is Auntie's baby doing?" Your friend Koriand'r coos.

"What was on the menu today?" You ask as Koriand'r shrugs her shoulders not knowing "y'know damn well ion eat that slop my momma made Jollof Rice and grilled chicken last night when I went to visit" she answers taking out her fork to dig in. You turn to Rachel who was quiet as always "Do you think if I ask Professor Hugo for a longer deadline he would give it to me?" She asks as Dominique looks at Rachel sigh and picks at her food. "He might if I'm being honest though the nigga scary," she tells talking about the tall, thin man with a with a bald head and a pointed beard. He is always wearing a green lab coat and black gloves. He has a very distinctive appearance, with sharp features and piercing eyes that give him a menacing look.

You and Dominique think he was an Arkham Asylum patient. "Dominique be nice," Koriand'r says shoving her. Dominique pulls out a bowl from out of her bag and places it on the table "I miss my man!" She groans before looking over at Dick feeding Nailah "Robin where is Cy? He ain't answering my calls!" She asks as Richard continues to feed Nailah "He's at practice from what he told me his coach is keeping him back a little while longer than everyone else causes he's team captain" He answers as DJ groans once again.

"I ain't finna lie it's quiet over here I ain't use to this shit cause Garfield, Victor, and Robin usually the loudest nigga at this table," Kori says before looking over at Richard who is staring her down. "No offense," she says before going back to her food and phone. Sadly the quiet didn't last long cause, not even a good minute went by before you hear the voice of Victor, Kaiden, and Garfield walk over laughing at something. "Speak of the devil" Kori whispers before smiling at her boyfriend walking over and kissing her.

"Wassup gang!" Garfield yells sitting down by Rachel and wrapping his arms around her "Good before your loud asses got here" Kori lets out as Gar rolls his eyes before taking out his food. "The Lunch they are serving is trash" Cy answers looking at the dish in front of him "Give me some!" you yell looking at the Fou Fou placed in front of him. "I have Soup Joumou I'll give you some! I just want a little bit" you beg as Cy groans before taking a napkin and placing some of his Fou Fou onto it. You smile thanking him

"So how were y'all classes for the ones that had it?" Kaiden asks as nobody answers just busy eating "Professor Hartley had us write a couple verses" Garfield answers as Kaiden nods his head "Professor Knight is gonna be the death of me I swear" Kori grumbles leaning onto her boyfriend. "She won't give me a chance to do anything she says it's because I'm just not ready" she adds rolling her eyes. "How am I not ready? Huh I'm the best student in her class and probably the only one that pays attention" she continues before stopping herself from continuing "we'll my day was nice I got to work on a few fashion pieces" Dominique says smiling. "I need to see it," you say as DJ nods her head.

"We have a game in a week and when I tell you Coach has been stressing me out, I have three assignments I haven't done yet" Cy groans he places his ball down on the floor and looks down at his food. "What about you Y/N?" he ask as you don't say anything to busy eating "oh Madam Montmorency extended th deadline for my project so I have until next week to figure out what I'm gonna do" you say as Rachel looks over at you confused

"So your telling me you don't know what your gonna do for your project yet?" Rachel ask as you shrug your shoulders before looking over at Richard and Nailah "what did y'all do today?" You ask as Nailah giggles at her father's funny face. "Well we visited my parents and she spent some time with her uncles and auntie, before falling asleep in the car on the way here" he says as you nod Kori and DJ look at the three of you guys with a smile "you guys are such a cute little family!" DJ says with a smile on her face.

"I got to get ready for my next class" Richard says looking at his phone, Kaiden, and Victor nods in agreement cleaning up their mess. "Oh I'll come with you to get changed" you say cleaning up your mess and getting up from the table to stretch. "Bye Nai" Cy says waving at the baby pulling at her dads shirt not even worried on who is calling her name.

You and Richard reach your apartment pulling out your keys unlocking the door and walking in with Richard and Nailah behind you. "Imma shower" He says placing Nailah into her playpen and then walking into the direction of the bathroom. You turn to your daughter looking up at you "what Nailah? Why the long face?" you ask as your daughter's bottom lip starts to quiver you sigh walking over to her and picking her up. "Nai don't start now" you warn her as she starts to cry you groan before walking over to the couch.

"Bug come on your dad is showering," you say rubbing Nailahs head she continues her cries this time louder you try everything to silence her bouncing her on your lap, handing her a binky, even giving her milk you know that she won't stop crying until she's with her father so you wait by the bathroom with a crying baby in your hand waiting for Richard do be done with his shower.

Ten minutes go by of Nailah crying bloody murder that you hear Richard turn off the shower. He walks out with a towel around his waist and a towel in his hand to dry his hair. He looks down at his whiney daughter who suddenly stops and is giving her father a toothy grin "why are you giving your mother such a hard time?" he asks handing you the towel in his hand and picks up Nailah. "I don't think she likes me" you say as Richard sits down on your bed and you walk over to help him dry his hair "she loves you Y/N" he answers as you roll your eyes.

After you finish drying his hair he places Nailah down on your lap and walks to the dresser to get some clothes he left over here  "Want me to take Nailah with me to class to you can rest?" he ask as you nod your head looking down at the baby playing with your braids. "That would be really great actually" you say thinking about using this time to figure out what your gonna make for your project and probably call Rachel and them and see if they wanna hang out.

"Ok well you rest up I'll see you after class ok?" Dick says grabbing Nailah from your arms "I'm gonna work on my project and call the girls over since they don't have classes anymore until tomorrow" you answer as he nods his head walking over to the door he stops looking over at you. "I love you" he whispers before kissing you. You smile waving him and Nailah off.
