โฑโษช แดกษชสส ษดแดแด สแดแดก เผ*ยทห
Saturday is a day Jungkook occasionally uses to train. Shirtless, sweaty and in the garden when the sun is shining. He enjoys the peace and quiet in the morning, as usually, no one comes into the garden so early. To his right, the neighbour's cat lies on the lounger and sunbathes. By now Jungkook thinks that the cat really likes it here more than in his own home because it has become rather a habit that the cat is in his garden and then returns to his own family in the evening.
Today, however, fate does not seem to mean well to him.
He is just about to do a 3-minute plank at the end of his training when the door to the terrace opens and out steps a somewhat unamused Yongsun. He watches him with his arms crossed in front of his chest as he leans against the door frame. Jungkook can literally feel the gaze burning on his skin.
However, he makes the mistake of mistaking his gaze for annoyance. Jungkook knows he was wrong when he hears a soft snort.
"Are you training again so you can better run from the police the next time you do something?"
Jungkook tries his best to resist the temptation to roll his eyes and say nothing back. Because that's exactly what Yongsun wants. To provoke him.
"I know you heard me. What, no witty remark? Nothing clever to say? Are you too fine to talk even though you're the one who's a criminal?" At his words, Jungkook tenses his body even more. His cousin will drive him mad one day. Jungkook is really trying his best to be the smarter of the two and not give in.
Maybe the reason for their constant bickering is that his father is a lawyer and he was brought up differently. Or maybe it's just because they have completely different personalities. Today, however, Yongsun seems to have it in for him and to take out his bad mood on him. Great.
Why had he only left his headphones in his room?
Jungkook shakes his head considerably and turns on his right side, not only to sunbathe his sweaty skin but also to make his next plank.
"Oh, I see," Yongsun says and Jungkook can practically hear the fat grin in his voice. "The fine gentleman is in no mood to talk today. But I know you understood me very well. What do you have to do as punishment, huh? Tell me. Is it cleaning toilets?"
Cleaning toilets? Seriously? Why is that the first thing that comes to his mind?
"Yongsun can you shut the fuck up? If all the video games 10-year-olds play have given you square eyes and you can't see straight, we can make an appointment with the paediatrician, because that's where your mental age is. I train and it's none of your business what I do and what I don't do. It's my business, not yours."
"Oh, so the fine man can speak."
Jungkook tenses his sharp jaw and clenches his teeth as he looks sharply through his eyes. What the hell... He senses anger rising inside him and straightens up, in a more comfortable position as he pierces Yongsun.
"Yongsun, what's your fucking problem?"
"You want to know what my problem is? That I have to live under the same roof with you and especially you, a criminal."
"If you don't like it, then move the fuck out. No one is stopping you, quite the opposite. It would be much more relaxed and not everyone would be tiptoeing around you in case you have another one of your Volkan outbursts," Jungkook admits honestly and how good it feels to finally tell him the truth. "But I don't even think that's the problem. Do you want to know what I think it is? You don't want to take responsibility for yourself and would rather be pampered from top to bottom, and if you move out you can't be the centre of attention anymore."
Finally, Jungkook stands up, no longer seeing any point in continuing to train. His mood is now ruined.
"Get out of my sight. I can't see your face anymore today," Jungkook waves his hand while picking up the mat beside him as if to clarify what he just said. Yongsun lets a mocking laugh escape his mouth.
"That's not my problem at all."
"Oh no?" Jungkook pauses in his steps, "You give the impression, though. All these years you've acted no different than a five-year-old, constantly vying for attention and throwing tantrums."
"You're one to talk," Yongsun mutters and scoffs. "Say... I've never seen you with friends before, let alone talked about any..."
Ouch.
As if someone had plunged a dagger into his heart. Jungkook notices how he freezes and cannot move an inch. This is an absolute taboo topic. A wave of dizziness overcomes him, he clenches one hand into a fist and tightens his grip around the mat in his right hand. Jungkook sees an emotion strike Yongsun's face that he cannot interpret. The last thing he needs is for Yongsun to know he hit a sore spot.
Strangely, the first thing he thinks of is not boxing, where he deals with his feelings, but comfort from Jimin and Minjun. The thought throws him off for a moment and he feels light-headed. Thinking of the only thing he can do next, Jungkook runs his hand through his hair and speaks with tightness in his chest, "Why does it always have to be a fight with you? You piss me off every time we talk."
Without another word, Jungkook heads into the house, but not without making sure to bump Yongsun's shoulder. While doing so, he does his best to show confidence, to signal that he is strong and give him a message. Inside his room, he kicks a shirt by side, his body slumps and he falls back against his door. Jungkook's eyes go up, looking heavenward before he lets out a huge breath. Relief rocking in his chest, along with the need of getting comforted.
That's how he finds himself shooting the only person he can think of a message. He clicks on send before he can rethink.
Jimin (baby daddy) ๐ซ๐น
Hey, how are you?
[sent: 9.23 am]
Hi Jungkook, I'm fine :)
Are you always up that early on a weekend?
[sent: 9.25 am]
Of course
My muscles do not keep fit without working out ๐
[sent: 9.26 am]
You...
You work out?
[sent: 9.26 am]
Yes?
[sent: 9.26 am]
Jungkook blinks, confused at Jimin's previous message. Wasn't it what he just texted?
Oh...that's um
That's cool
I like that
I mean-
Shit
that sounded more wrong than it should have, sorry
[sent: 9.29 am]
Do you mean you like that I work out or do you like working out in general ๐
[sent: 9.30 am]
Yes, I do
[sent: 9.30 am]
Jimin you really confuse me here
What do you like?
[sent: 9.31 am]
Working out ofc!
Not that I dislike the idea of you working out but
[sent: 9.31 am]
...
But?
You like the idea of me working out?
[sent: 9.32 am]
ANYWAYS
What's the reason for texting me?
[sent: 9.32 am]
Jungkook scrunches his nose and has to laugh at Jimin's message, imagining him being flustered. It makes his heart flutter.
Am I not allowed to just text you on my free day?
[sent: 9.33 am]
You can
But you seem different than usual
You started the conversation different
Is something wrong?
Is something bothering you?
[sent: 9.35 am]
What if I told you I just had a fight with my cousin?
[sent: 9.36 am]
You did?
You've never told me about him?
[sent: 9.36 am]
He's not someone worth mentioning
We never got along
It's just nerve-wracking that I have to live with him under one roof
[sent: 9.37 am]
Do you live with him?
What did you talk about?
If you don't mind asking me
What did he do to upset my Jungkookie?
[sent: 9.38 am]
Jungkookie?
[sent: 9.38 am]
It's cute:)
[sent: 9.38 am]
Jungkook feels his cheeks heating up at the nickname. Does he like being called Jungkookie? He imagines it would have a nice ring if Jimin said it to him.
Whatever
My cousin... and I got into an argument about something that happened in my past
For most people, it might not be something big or to get angry about but it still kind of hurt when he picked on me with it
[sent: 9.40 am]
It's okay to feel hurt sometimes
It only shows that you're human
For whatever reason, it's not nice to get picked on you by your cousin
Im sorry it happened to you
I hope you did tell him that it's not okay to do that
[sent: 9.42 am]
He didn't. But it's nice to see how much Jimin cares about him. Jungkook finds some comfort in his words. For once he can talk about some of his feelings to someone. Tell him about the difficult relationship he has with his cousin. He feels somewhat relieved.
They continue to talk some more about his family and Jimin does make him feel better in the end and they somehow get to the next topic which connects them both: Minjun.
Have I shown you the video of Minjun's first little Taekwondo performance? ๐ฅบ
[sent: 10.01 am]
No, you have not!
Please send it to me
I'm desperate to see how good he's already picked up on this!
[sent: 10.01 am]
<sends video>
[sent: 10.02 am]
Oh my God!!
Look how cute he looks in this uniform!
He's becoming a Taekwondo fighter as I did!
It also reminds me of...
[sent: 10.03 am]
Of?
[sent: 10.03 am]
Nothing...
It's just it reminds me of the old days to be honest
[sent: 10.04 am]
I guess that's right
You know? He was so shy at first?
I thought he would cry again because of all the attention?
But my baby didn't
I'm so proud of him
[sent: 10.04 am]
I'm glad to hear that
He nearly cried when he had this performance in kindergarten
But I could distract him with some words and did some pep-talk
Hearing this... he has improved a lot already
[sent: 10.05 am]
Jungkook didn't necessarily lie when he texted it would remind him of the old days or that he did some pep talk, believe it or not, it was actually the promise of giving more piano lessons and promising that he will do great and has a talent. He just needs to believe in himself.
So having had the piano lesson not long before Minjun had the Taekwondo performance might have strengthened his belief although it was something completely different.
"No, look. You have to use your small pinkie for this key," Jungkook said in a caring voice and placed his pinkie on the correct key. His fingers glided over the white and black keys as he showed Minjun, who sat patiently on his lap, what keys he had to press. He had stuck small coloured stickers on the keys to make it easier for Minjun to recognize the keys.
Minjun looked at him, waiting for approval after he played what Jungkook previously had played. "Yes, that's correct."
Jungkook still wonders how they haven't said anything. They surely must have noticed by now. A feeling of sadness gathers in his chest. Soon he will have worked through his lessons and he will no longer be able to teach Minjun as he would like to continue. Each time, Minjun is able to understand and apply more. What he likes most about Minjun is the seriousness and consistency he has with playing the piano. Whether it is because he has taken a liking to playing the piano or because he wants to make Jimin proud, it is enough to see the sparkle in Minjun's eyes when he teaches him.
As for Jimin...
He's gorgeous. A dream man anyone would love to have and spend time with. Jungkook knows he's not being fair to Jimin. He doesn't play his cards close to his chest, but he can't bring himself, to tell the truth. The thought of losing Jimin over this makes his heart ache. Jimin had brought him into his and Minjun's lives thinking he was an educator and Jungkook hadn't even had the courage to better him. Sooner or later he has to confess it to him, but can't he still enjoy the time he has left?
Jungkook is selfish, but who wouldn't be when you're friends with someone so wonderful who might not want anything more to do with you when the truth comes out?
