Dear Diary, I'm quite lucky

A/N : A short update but please bear with me. I'm kinda busy, and I cannot really update everyday. I really really appreciate the support and love, but I'm in my twelfth so I've got studies, classes and extra-curricular stuff too, being expected to perform well everywhere, it cuts down my time on wattpad and other platforms. I do understand the eagerness to read the next chapter but I cannot update daily. I've been updating frequently with the time I get. This year is extremely crucial for me and I cannot afford ruining it up. So please please understand.

Dear Diary,

I believe luck doesn't favour everyone everytime.

Luck hasn't always favoured me either.

But I do think I'm quite lucky

Given the friends and family I got, to support me through all ups and downs, I think I'm quite lucky, actually the luckiest.

Shubman's gaze travelled towards Jugnu who was busy arguing over the phone.

" No you listen to me! The audacity he had of stirring rumours about Shubman Gill! Shubman Gill to be crying out loud! Does he know the consequences? Listen to me, I shan't hear a word against my cousin!"

He sighed,
" Jugnu—"

" Chup kar! Making a mountain out of a molehill? Excuse me? Are you even hearing yourself? Listen to me, I can very well cross my limits if these rumours aren't taken down! So what if he's a public figure? You'll throw dirt on his reputation to gain limelight? Disgusting and cheap!"

" Chup karao isse." Shubman let out a tired sigh.

" Haa jaise hone vala hai. He won't shut up even if you ask him to. He cares about your reputation more than you do."

" Isn't that your work Seb?"

" He...he beats me to it every time."

" Jugnu...Jugnu yaar...bass yaara."

Jugnu frowned fiercely at him.

" Shut up! I'm clearing out your name! They cannot publish any shit like that!"

" You're lucky y'know?" Shubman suddenly turned towards the door as Sara walked in.

She smiled softly, making his heart race.

She was wearing casual for a change today.

A blue t-shirt with loose white pants, her hair tied, and Shubman looked at himself, realising he was wearing a blue hoodie as well and he bit back a smile as he looked back at her.

She carried this look so good as well.

" Yeah, I'm aware." He nodded.

" You should be! You don't always get best-friends and cousins both like Jugnu. The way he is so fiercely possesive of you is really admirable."

" We Punjabis often tend to be possesive about our loved ones."

" I can see." She nodded, her smile broadening.

Jugnu hung up finally, and let out a deep breath.

" Bada aaya baat ka batangad bana rahe ho bolne vala. Nalayak! Seb you better look into this as soon as possible!"

Seb nodded and rushed into the balcony with his phone.

" You're here? Great I've been waiting for you!" His expression immediately changed as he grinned at Sara and Shubman shook his head.

" So biased." He tsked but neither of them heard him.

" So....I've got tickets for Arijit Singh's new concert. But, I can't really go. How about you go in place of me with Shubman?" Jugnu arched a brow and Shubman frowned.

Can't go?

That wasn't what he said when Shubman had asked Seb to book the tickets.

" Why can't you?" Sara asked him.

" Kunwar's insisting I accompany him somewhere so I gotta ditch Shubi last minute, he was quite upset with me about that."

Sara turned to take a look at Shubman who immediately looked away.

" If you're accompanying Kunwar, why isn't Shubman as well?"

Jugnu sighed.

" He uh....has a photoshoot tomorrow. We're going there to stay."

" You'll miss his photoshoot?"

" Got no choice." He shrugged.
" Please? I know he's insufferable, but for me? Just for tonight?"

Sara sighed.
" Sometimes, I feel like hitting you KP. I just can't say no!" She said pouting and he laughed.

" That's because I'm your bestest friend! Thank you so much, you're always very sweet." He grinned at her.

" What time then?"

" Eight thirty. I'll pick you up."

Nodding, she bid them bye and walked out saying she had to wind up her meetings.

Shubman turned towards Jugnu furrowing his brows.

" What're you upto?"

" Doing something you cannot." He shrugged.

" That is?"

" Making a move on your behalf."

" I....she will never fall for me Jugnu. We both know that."

" What makes you think so?"

" She hates me...." He mumbled.

" Are you stupid or are you stupid? She does not! It was you who claimed to hate her Shubi! Yaar woh itni sweet hai, kyun bina matlab tujhse nafrat karegi?"

" Behavior Jugnu, Mera behavior! Kyun nafrat nahi karegi yeh puch!"

" She doesn't hate you Shubi, if anything you aggravate her for sure, but hatred? Nah, it's too strong a feeling. She herself says that. And she's also said she doesn't hate you."

" When?"

" Quite a few times. Look, you just go for the concert okay? And enjoy yourself!"

" You...you were so eager for this concert! Why would you do that Jugnu?"

" Because sometimes, when your best-friend is stupid, you gotta be smart and make sacrifices! Ja Shubman ja, yeh sabit kar ki mera yeh balidaan acche keliye tha!" He exclaimed dramatically and Shubman rolled his eyes.

" Dramebaaz."

Jugnu chuckled.

" Thank you." Shubman said and he furrowed his brows.

" For?"

" For always being there. And for being you. I don't say it often but you're extremely important for me Jugnu. You're really a firefly, who has a light of his own, and with that one light, he can light up the entire room. You matter so so much. I'm really lucky to have you."

" Bass bass, rulane ka iraada hai kya? You matter so much to me Shubi. I'm willing to do anything for you!"

Shubman sighed, smiling fondly as he put his arms around him, murmuring a thank you yet again and Jugnu patted him, embracing him back.
