Level VII

Y/n's POV:

I felt hate, hate towards this reality. My life was trapped inside this vicious circle of violence and depravity, with no way out.

Dying would be the easiest and least painful way...what would I have left when I would no longer be able to remember my parents' faces? What about my younger brother? Would he forget his missing sister once he became an adult?

Few people had managed to make me smile again thinking that there might still be some humanity in such a place...but now, even that was impossible.

The exit was in front of me, but I couldn't cross it. Not anymore. My every attempt was in vain.
It was clear that the Entity didn't want to let me escape...it wanted to prevent me from running away from him.

Michael Myers was staring at me outside the gate and, with my every move, he would go in pursuit. Anyway, I couldn't stay there waiting for him so I ran towards the heart of the forest scratching myself all over to create an escape route.

My heart was pounding from being out of breath. Despite all my fears, I still hadn't stopped fighting for my life; every second had become important to me and I certainly couldn't waste it to catch my breath.

I didn't know which direction to go and everything seemed the same and had the sensation of turning around the same point.
Luckily, he wasn't following me...or maybe, he was hiding in the dark and it was just me who couldn't see him. The sound of rain was the only thing audible there, along with the sound of my footsteps as I stepped on the wet ground.

After a long run, I stopped. The house where I had been with Jake earlier wasn't very far from me, but it didn't reassure me to go in there now; if I had to face Michael, I would have preferred to do it in the open air, where I would have had more chance of escape.
Before starting to walk again I turned to look over my shoulder...but there was nothing.

Suddenly, something like a metallic noise caught my attention. It wasn't very strong, but every step I took its intensity changed; and just when the sound got deafening, I finally saw it...

- - -

The hatch was right there, open, in front of your eyes. The last chance to escape. A glimmer of hope hit your eyes and, without thinking too much, you ran towards it.

《I can get out of here!》  You screamed inside as the adrenaline rush gave another boost to your tired legs.

You prepared to jump inside that dark hole, convinced that it would take you back to the camp, where your companions were waiting for you...

But maybe it was just fate. Albeit terrible...without even having time to react, you were dragged and thrown away from the hatch...when you lifted your face from the ground, it was already closed.

The worst part was that you weren't alone anymore. You were left on the ground, trembling like a leaf, forced to hear his heavy breathing. You couldn't see him, but you knew he was there staring at you silently. There was no doubt that he had been the one to close the hatch.

You didn't know why you were lying on the ground, maybe because you wanted to avoid looking him in the eye. However, Michael grabbed you again and violently slammed you against a tree trunk. His hand pressed against your throat to keep you from moving.

At this point, the realm should have dissolved and separated you two permanently, but it was evident that things turned differently...the Shape seemed determined to upset your miserable existence, to the point of convincing the Entity to let him do what he wanted.

《N-no more...please...》

It was hard to tell because of the rain, but Michael seemed to feel your sobbing as he stared at that look on your dirty, wet face.

Your eyes saw nothing but a merciless masked monster.

《D-didn't you humiliate me enough?! What do you still want from me?!》  You had the courage to scream those words, now on the verge of despair.

Suddenly, his knife made a clean cut at the base of your neck. Although superficial and without particular damage, a few drops of blood splashed on his white and expressionless face.

It was a clear warning to you.

The killer let go of your neck, but the knife continued to swing close to your face. You jumped against the trunk when you felt his fingers penetrate you violently.
The tip of the blade touched your skin, so your fingernails scratched the hard wood behind you.

The pain was incessant and intense, not even after what had happened in the basement; his fingers kept hitting you from within and with faster movements, facilitated by the fluid and the blood.
In self-defense, your body tried to escape from that unbearable touch, but your legs seemed to follow his constant thrusts, more and more intense.

《S-stop...no!》  Your arms still had the strength to react and you pushed against Michael's chest and managed to stop him; of course, he didn't move from his position in front of you.

Inside him, Michael enjoyed seeing his prey squirming in vain attempt to free itself, before being brutally killed, but now it didn't seem that way...in your case, he was just waiting to torture you as he had never done with any other victim before.

Your arms were in the middle, so he grabbed your shoulder to turn you away.
But he didn't just limit himself to that; to keep them from moving again, he managed to lock your wrists against the tree above your head...you widened your eyes as he implanted the knife through your hands and a loud scream came out from your mouth.

More.

Because he had gripped the handle of the knife slowly tearing apart every millimeter of your tissues, it was impossible for you to hold back the screams, which anyone could have heard outside the Red Forest.

- - -

As he said, he wanted more. He wanted to hear you cry, scream, plead and call his name with your high, pained voice. All of that was wonderful to him.

Your body was shaking, now tired and hurt. Your legs could no longer hold your weight, but that would have made more blood flow from your hands down your arms; your breasts and belly leaned against the cold trunk, while your thighs were pressed against each other trying to protect that shred of dignity that still remained...being a spectator of all that made him tremble intensely, eager to corrupt even your soul.

His panting behind the mask alerted you to the bad omen that would soon come...Michael pressed his fingers into your buttocks, leaving some bruises on them, before separating them.
Of course, he wanted another taste of you.

Without warning, he pushed his hard member in with all the weight of his abdomen. You tried to bite your tongue, but the other stopped you by sticking two fingers inside your mouth.
Your continuous groans of pain accelerated his unpleasant and intense movements and you could only hope that he would finish as soon as possible.

But silence returned as you felt his lips on yours. The real ones.
Short wisps of hair seemed to fall on your cheeks, but when you opened your eyes to see which one they belonged to, he covered your view.

This time, he was looking at you with his face completely unmasked.

《P-please don't do this anymore...》  Your voice was weak, but it still managed to reach his ears.

Abandoned in the darkness, he took the opportunity to observe your lips, your cheeks, your chin and hair moving across your face, despite your poor condition.

So beautiful.》  He just said.

- - -

You couldn't believe what you just heard.

《W-what...》  His hand still covered your eyes. As if nothing had happened, you felt his lips brush against your left ear.

You. Are. Beautiful.》  Michael slowly whispered those words with his hoarse but deep voice.

There was no sense. What did it matter, after all the harm he had caused you?

Michael took the knife from your hands causing you further suffering and imprisoned your frail body against his. You didn't get a chance to see his face, as yours was pressed against his suit.

《T-this can't be true...how can you...》  Your palm reached your face to wipe away your tears but that gesture made you stay dirtier than before. The smell and presence of all that blood made you feel sick.

Michael turned your head to one side so you couldn't look at him and gave you an unexpected kiss on your cold cheek.

- - -

Y/n's POV:

There was a warmth that came from that kiss, so kind. I was experiencing the same sensation I felt that time, the first time he held me so close to him.

I had stopped crying, even though it was hard to ignore the pain in my hands and heart. I couldn't trust him so easily.

I was pressed against his chest and, in that position, I could feel his heartbeat...I didn't know why, but it was inexplicably fast.

I raised my head; now that he was without your mask, I could see his neck and part of his slightly pinched chin.
I couldn't do more, as he prevented me from seeing by covering his face again with that expressionless mask.

I grabbed him supporting myself with both hands and further staining him with my blood.

《Why I can't see your face...》  When I said that, his head tilted slightly towards me as if he wanted to take another look at me, but without giving me an answer.

《And why are you doing all this to me...what that kiss means...tell me Michael, please...》

Michael continued to stare at me as if he couldn't speak anymore, but his grip around me got stronger, as if he didn't want to let me go...then, he bent an arm to grab and lift my right thigh.

I had forgotten that he was still inside me and had the feeling that he had grown bigger.

《W-why? Put it out, it still hurts!》  But he started thrusting again, after he made sure my back was against the tree again.

I didn't know how, but I wasn't in as much pain as before. Of course, that wasn't because he had suddenly softened, but it was probably those kisses that made me lose control.

It got to the point where I pleaded Michael to continue and that made my voice uncontrollable. I clung to his shoulders, the same ones that had been stained with the blood of so many victims and on which their indelible imprint still lay on the fabric.

Among the complaints, I called his name in a completely different tone from the one I had just before, when I was on the ground in pain and suffering...I felt there was something wrong with me and despite the violence I had suffered from him, why didn't I just hate him? I wanted to know what was going through his head, what his true intentions were, and what was the reason for this change.

One thing was certain...we both experienced intense pleasure. I could hear his panting on the other side of the mask and his breath on my neck as I pressed my fingernails to his back.
I wanted to kiss him and feel his thin, rough lips over mine again...but when I tried to lift his mask, Michael stopped.

《I-I want to kiss you...》  He satisfied my request by uncovering himself up to the tip of the nose. As he kissed me, I could feel that he liked it too; when he tried to get his tongue into my mouth I resisted, but without success.

There was a great silence around us, as if the forest no longer existed, as if none of it was there.

It was just me and him.

- - -

When it was all over, Michael still didn't let you go. His arms gripped your body, so small and fragile compared to his.
That pleasant sensation was so overwhelming that you forgot all the pain of the past; somehow, Michael had been forced by the Entity to behave that way...right?

That was what scared you, which was the fact that Michael could change again towards you. Now he was there, close to you, teasing your skin with his long and intense kisses, often leaving their mark...it was evident that something had changed in him and you hoped that he would no longer hurt you.

You stroked his uncovered cheek. It was so white and smooth. You wondered how it was possible that a young man like him had become a ruthless killer...

If it was true that he was able to kill his victim in cold blood, then why was he hugging you so heartily?

《M-Michael...let me go now...》  You tried to free yourself from his grip, but the killer didn't want to.

No. You are mine.

Instead of rebelling and hitting that human-looking monster, you stood still, leaving him the chance to hold you tight, despite the dirt of the earth and blood on your bodies.

At that moment, the words Jake had told you at the abandoned hut came back to your mind and suffered because you knew you could never return that feeling he had for you...
Anyway, the Entity reacted to force you to separate from each other and return you to your respective "Limbo".

It took just a blink of your eyelashes and you found yourself again in front of the camp fire. The warmth ran through your clothes, intact again, and your skin unscathed...but inside you knew it was Michael Myers's.

You weren't alone anymore and you turned around when your teammates approached you.

- - -

Laurie's POV:

When I saw Y/n appear in front of the fire, I headed towards her.

《You are finally back, Y/n.》  I was wondering how it was possible that she had taken so long to get back and I was afraid that something horrible had happened to her.

《Are you okay? Jake and Claudette told me it wasn't easy this time...I knew he was there, with you...》  She knew I was referring to Michael Myers.

《I'm fine. Thanks for worrying about me.》  She smiled faintly. I didn't know why, but that answer didn't quite reassure me.

The last time I had met the Shape, I was perplexed. Especially after he said her name and said she was going to be his...but Y/n said nothing about it and her attitude was the same as always.

I had to be sure and grabbed her wrist so I could talk to her privately.

《I have something important to talk to you about, please follow me.》

She did that without saying anything. As we walked away, my gaze met Jake's, somewhat troubled.

As I thought, they were hiding something.

- - -

Y/n's POV:

Laurie needed to talk to me, but I worried when her grip on my wrist tightened. It was evident that something was wrong and I was hoping Jake hadn't told her what Michael had done to me in front of him.

She stopped in the heart of the fake forest.  Whatever she asked, I knew I could never tell her the truth.

《Now please tell me what really happened there.》

I could feel my hands starting to sweat as I clenched them into fists.

《After saving me, Jake managed to escape while I didn't...didn't he tell you this already?》

Laurie looked at me uncertainly. Why was she so suspicious now?

《Yes, he told me that he saved you from Michael and also told me that you two separated just before going out...》  She took a step towards you  《you were left alone with Michael, right?》

《Yes, he was chasing me the whole time. It was hard to get out of there alive.》  I couldn't help but lie.

《Did he hurt you?》  She asked me again. I didn't want to continue this conversation.

《What else could a killer do who only thinks about killing...?》  I seriously asked. Laurie started shaking and it wasn't from the cold.

《You should tell me, Y/n. What does he want from you?》

I wasn't just protecting myself. I was determined not to say anything about it.  However, Laurie was too.

But before I could answer, her green eyes widened and she raised her voice sharply.
《He told me that you belong to him. You must know what it means!》

《...I don't know what you're talking about and he was probably referring to the fact that I was his obsession last time. There are no other explanations or meanings, in a place like this, Laurie.》

I crossed my arms patiently, but inside I couldn't understand when Michael had said that and why right in front of her.

《Y/n, after Michael killed my friends he stalked and chased me through the streets of Haddonfield, with the intent to kill me–》

《Exactly. Kill you. Don't rape you, like he did with me...but I don't want to talk about this.》  I had enough of that.

《Why? Why pretend nothing happened...》  Laurie waved her arms and paced back and forth between the branches.

《...》

《He matters to me.》

After saying that, there was a few minutes of silence. Laurie was with her back to me and was completely still.

《What do you mean now...》She said turning around. I knew she would be shocked.

He...is important to me.》

- - -

Laurie's POV:

I was petrified.

《...who?》  I asked; I swallowed when she said his name. It couldn't be true.

It was impossible if not crazy.

《D-do you realize what are you saying? How can you think this of a monster like Michael is...!》

She must have gone mad and it was all to blame for this shitty place...

《I didn't think so at first, but now I'm sure Michael isn't that evil, it's the Entity who–》

"PAFF!"

It was stronger than me, I couldn't control my hand when I touched Y/n's face. Her cheek slowly turned red.
Her eyes were focused elsewhere, as if she didn't want to look me in the face.

She believed the famous killer Michael Myers had a good soul, but he wasn't...there was only evil in his eyes and I had clearly seen it when he tried to strangle me that night. His face was dull and unable to feel emotion, even though he was very young.

《So you and him...no, I can't believe it...》  I was so shocked that I couldn't find the courage to say what I thought, but her silence confirmed it.

I didn't know what to think. Even if it was a plan to try to survive, how she could jeopardize herself and do such a thing with a lousy guy like him...

Y/n kept her gaze down. I felt guilty for giving her that slap, it wasn't what I wanted, but it was too much to hear all of this.

《F-forgive me Y/n, I didn't want to hit you...but why–》

I suddenly met her eyes and that silenced me.

《...I thought you would understand me, at least you...but the truth is that just a great hypocrisy. How can you judge me, or anyone else, when you don't remember all the times you abandoned your teammates to save your lives? At this point, there are no right or wrong things but only the choice of our actions, and I've chosen this, I chose to approach Michael because I feel there's something that binds me to him, and he to me. Now, I don't expect you to accept it but, at least you Laurie, believe in what I'm doing.》

When she finished, I couldn't reply, perhaps because I didn't know what to say or what to do. She was right, this place had made us all lose our heads, but yes, it was unacceptable to me what she was trying to do, which was to believe that she could touch the soul, if it existed, of Myers.

Despite that pained expression, I could see that light illuminating her eyes and it was determination...I hadn't seen that for a long time now.

I retraced my steps leaving Y/n alone, which she said no more. That speech was more than enough for me.
As soon as I saw the camp fire, I ran into Jake. For a moment, I thought he was secretly following us.

《Laurie, what did she tell you?》  His tone was strangely calm.

I clenched my fists before answering.
《Nothing...nothing different from what you told me.》

Jake seemed relieved to hear that and went back to the others, not asking me where Y/n was. Whether he knew something or not I couldn't say for sure, but he was fine with that...after all, I had made a choice too now...

I had decided to protect and to believe in Y/n's words, but not that in Michael Myers there was still humanity; however, there was nothing I could do other than let that wicked game keep on...
