Level IV

Y/n's POV:

A very special day was approaching for me. Based on the marks I had left on the tree, it was two weeks and three days. Out of here, it was now summer. I thought back to the trips I took by car with my family for my birthday; I often chose to go to Philadelphia and it was a long way from our neighborhood in Pennsylvania County, or we spent a few days outdoors away from the urban bustle along the Delaware River. Vegetation grew and the view was breathtaking.
I liked living these quiet moments, because I knew my parents would like it too; even if for a day, they let the weight of their respective jobs slip by dedicating themselves exclusively to us.

Knowing that I couldn't celebrate my twentieth birthday with them made me feel bad.

Couldn't I get out of here, even for a little while? The time needed to review and hug them...

They would have seen that I was fine, at least...but they wouldn't let me go anymore and, unfortunately, that wasn't the way things were.
I hadn't told anyone about it yet, until a question came from Jake; he had seen the bark marked with the number "20". I had forgotten that this boy knew every inch of the forest and no doubt had noticed the hollow tree I had discovered.

《I haven't stopped counting the days since I've been here and, soon, it will be my birthday...a day like any other, of course.》

Jake smiled.
《It's still a special day for you, don't forget it.》  If I could make a wish for that day, I wanted to wake up in my beloved home.

There were few positive things in this realm, but something incredible had happened lately. Someone had made me unstable and I didn't know how to react every time I met him again.

Although still a question mark, Michael Myers wasn't exactly the killer I expected him to be; my new companions always identified him as the Shape, including Laurie, and the same was true of all the other killers. Nobody wondered if they, like Michael, had had another life outside of this one.

《It's impossible. They have never tried in any way to communicate with us. Did they have a normal life? I don't care...but I doubt it was different; there's not a shred of humanity in their eyes.》  That was how Nea had answered me when I brought up the subject. Those present nodded their heads agreeing that she was right.

《And you? Have you ever tried this? You don't know if they have a name-》I was interrupted by David's laugh.

《Ahahaha! Don't tell me you're serious?! Do you really think you're here to have a chat with those monsters? Wake up Y/n...》  He finished with his usual swaggering smile; on the contrary, I stared at him and realized that I wasn't joking.

《I believe that Y/n's observation is not so wrong, otherwise it wouldn't be explained why there are completely different killers. Most of them still show human features...》  Zarina had got in the way; I was glad to know that someone had asked the same questions as me...it was part of her profession, after all.

《...and everyone has a different power, so they can put it in our asses for good, okay, what about that? Why do you care so much about getting to know them?》  I didn't understand why David was doing this until Dwight stepped in to make peace.

《D-don't fight, please. There's no need to use certain languages between us.》  His expression changed as David turned to his side.

《We aren't fighting, four eyes. I'm just curious to know where our new partner wants to go, expert in "communication with the killer" and also with the Entity, while you're here...》  He sat right next to me and the situation became more and more tense; I had heard that it didn't take much to piss him off, but not that he got his hands on a woman and it worried me a bit.

Anyway, I tried to stay composed.

《I'm just saying things could be different if we knew more about them. They're in the same condition as us and I don't think they lack a will...》  It was a difficult goal to achieve, but not impossible; I wanted to find out more about Michael Myers, but I had a feeling that he still saw me as a prey to be captured and not as a person. Either way, this was my business.

I felt David's breath on my neck and realized that his face was two steps away from my ear.
《Mmm, you seem determined...I bet you already know how to get closer to the killer, but do you really think it can work?》The way he spoke was really irritating me.
I got up from the trunk to leave when I felt a strong grip around my wrist. He was still waiting for my answer.
《Then? What are your intentions?》

《What I know is that I don't want to just run away...if there's a way to really win in this game, I just have to find out.》  I gave up the fire, having freed my hand; I had to think the weight of my words, since the last thing I wanted was to discuss with my teammates. The only thing that haunted my thoughts was only one; I had to find out more about him.

- - -

Things seemed less difficult when we were dragged into Coldwind Farm. The cornfield stretched for several meters and when I first set foot in it, I was kind of disoriented, but that wasn't just for me.

It was almost a relief to see a brighter-than-usual sky above our heads, if there wasn't someone chasing us.

I reached a stationary generator, hidden behind a stone fence; to keep me company was a skinned animal, hanging over my head.
After a few minutes, you felt something move behind the ears of corn. My heart was beating loudly, so you couldn't think who might be...until David came out.

《Did you start the party without me?》  He said with a grin, as he walked over to the generator.

I didn't want to talk to him for the moment. Fortunately, he seemed to understand this and continued to take apart and assemble pieces.

Once the light at the top of the pole went on, I hurried on my way, until something held me back.

Once again, David was holding me back and I didn't understand what he wanted from me.

《David...we have no time to waste here.》  I told him; his expression looked different than usual, as if something was bothering him.

《Tell me Y/n, what happened during the last trial?》  That question made me distress.

《What do you mean?》  It wasn't the right time to talk about it, but I couldn't ignore that he had noticed something.

《Come on, you know perfectly well what I mean...why did he let you escape after being caught?》

- - -

Sooner or later, someone would find out, but I didn't imagine so soon. David told me that, after saving Jake, I had been taken away by Michael and that someone, probably him or Kate, had followed us.

《Michael didn't kill you, did he? What did he do to you?》  His tone seemed harsh, as if he wanted to reproach me for some fault.

But the truth is, I didn't feel any of this.

《Nothing.》  I tried to deny his doubts.  《I chose to sacrifice myself for a friend knowing the consequences. And now let me–...》

The noise of the chainsaw petrified me and the Cannibal came out into the open, from the cornfield in front of us.
He was so tall and massive. He was looking at us from the other side of his leather mask and his attention fell especially on David.
He grabbed him abruptly away from me and, after throwing him to the ground, hit him repeatedly with his mace.
The ears around the massacre turned red; when he was done with him, he turned to me.

My feet were shaking, but they managed to give me a push to run in the opposite direction, away from that monster.

I reached a hut and, after making sure he wasn't following me, I hid inside one of the three lockers inside.
I stayed there for a few moments; my heart was still beating fast. I didn't want anyone to run into him for me, but sure I didn't want him to come here.
At the height of my abdomen, there was a narrow crack where I could glimpse the external environment.

I wasn't safe in there, especially after a long time, but it was better than being out there if the killer was around.
The noise of the corn confused me and I didn't know if it was the wind that moved them...until his large shape passed in front of me. He was ready to get out, elsewhere, when he stopped in the middle of the room.

He slid his old chainsaw off his shoulder and turned his head just in my direction.

I stepped away from the hole and held my breath with both hands. His footsteps were approaching and the light that just entered inside disappeared. He was in front of me.

- - -

I was counting every second that passed, from when I was locked in there, until his shadow appeared in front of me.

Please, go away...

I prayed he would never open the doors but, after five seconds, he did.
Now, his black eyes were fixed on me, trapped.
I could have screamed, hit him, and shivered at what was going to happen soon, but strangely I didn't.

He tilted his head slightly to the side, as if he wanted to understand what was ahead. Maybe, he didn't understand why I wasn't scared.
A thud made me jump. He had dropped the mace on purpose and, with his free hand, approached my face.
He touched it with his dirty fingers. His bracelet made eerie noises of bones.

He reached for my neck, where he tightened his grip. After that gesture, he took me out of the locker and, with the other hand, turned on the chainsaw.

Meg's POV:

After several searches, we had finally found the last generator.
It seemed strange to me that the Cannibal hadn't shown up; Nea had joined me and told me she had seen King's body.

《Let's hurry up with this thing. It could be around and we know how fast it can be when using the chainsaw.》
I agreed with her and so we began to work; Nea was good with items lying around and, this time, she had a toolbox with her to speed up the repair time.

The last reel was about to click until we heard a chainsaw strike inside the cornfield.
《He must have found Y/n.》Nea said, turning back.

《Finish this, I'll go to her.》  And, with a sprint, I walked away following that annoying sound, more and more clear.
They were inside the hut; from the window, I saw Y/n in the air, trying to break free from the killer's grip.
Without any hesitation, I stepped over the window; he noticed me and whirled around, furious to have interrupted him.
I turned on my flashlight and aimed the beam at his crippled face, until he let go of Y/n.

Y/n's POV:

《Run!》  Meg yelled at me.
I recovered from the lack of air and left the hut; I followed her until we reached one of the exit doors, closed.

At that moment, a rumble warned us that it was ready to be opened.
Meg pushed the lever down while I checked that no one came.
As soon as it opened, Nea joined us, chased by that bastard.

《Go away, go away!》  Nea repeated coming towards us.

The Cannibal was frantically waving his weapon to knock us down, but we managed to avoid him by escaping through the exit.

I was running in the dark and my footsteps mingled with those of my teammates, until I no longer felt them next to me.

- - -

I kept walking, aimlessly, while the dark fog enveloped me completely.

Where is it taking me now?

I was sure it wasn't the camp. Darkness ruled the place and the air seemed unbreathable.

The floor was wet, but I doubted it was water. At first, I felt like I was alone, until I heard the echo of a breath. He looked familiar and, whoever was, was wearing a mask.

He was there, in front of me, I just couldn't see him. Something touched my arms and I slammed into him. His chest was strong and large and he appeared to be wearing a suit.

《M-Michael...?》  I said softly.
I wasn't sure it was him, but some details made me guess.

I received no response, but what looked like arms held me tight.
I felt a warmth that spread over my whole body and, strangely, it reassured me.

After all, Michael Myers was the only one who made me feel that way.

My eyes were getting used to the dark and I looked up to notice his famous white mask.
I didn't know where I was, but it didn't matter that much. I was hoping the girls were able to get out and back to the others.

《Yes.》  A voice, but not Michael's, spoke to me. I was sure I heard it, but the other hadn't moved an inch.

Could it have been the Entity that spoke to me?

《And now, you are his.》  These were the last words it said to me. I wanted to understand what it meant, but the other threw me to the ground.

It hurt my back and it felt wet and dirty; I tried to get up, but my feet couldn't move freely.
The realm around me appeared showing me a sort of basement, devoid of hooks. Without an exit.

Above me, was Michael.
His aura seemed different from before; there was something wrong and I was sure it was the Entity's fault.

《What did it tell you?》  I asked him, hoping he would answer me this time.

《Answer me, Micha–...》

My voice was interrupted by his hand, pressing against my mouth.

I tried to take his hand away, but something grabbed me and pinned my hands to the ground, as if I had been nailed.

The cold enveloped me as Michael tore off my clothes.
I couldn't say anything, except a few laments, which weren't enough to make him stop.

His movements were violent and rigid, as if he were being controlled. I was afraid the Entity was telling him what to do.

《Please...don't do this...》  It was the only thing I thought, while hoping it would stop quickly.

- - -

Your body was discovered in every place and his touch was unpleasant.
You couldn't do anything. Just watching him do what he wanted.
His breath heaved as he had your breasts in his hands; He held them harder and harder, making you lose some moan.

Obviously that wasn't enough. He wanted to hear more of that. Without warning and without any preparation, he stuck a finger inside you.

You had never done such a thing and it was starting to scare you. Last time he looked like he was going to have sex, but his ways were kinder to you than now.

It hurt as he pulled it out and then in. As the other hand was also needed, he raised it from over your mouth.

《S-stop it!》  But it was all in vain. Michael didn't even think about quitting and he seemed to like it, since every time he moved his finger your moans turned into screams of pain.

Finally, he stopped. He looked at his own finger, wet and lightly stained with blood. He lifted the mask, right up to his nose, to lick it.
In the meantime, you tried to struggle but it wasn't that simple.
You petrified when you felt his zipper slide; by no, you understood what was going to happen and you tried to hold back.

What a fool I was...

That thought crossed your mind, still capable of reasoning.
On the contrary, the words of the killer weren't really understood and he continued to undress, under your eyes full of terror.

The pain was hallucinating when he put it inside you. Even though he had spent his life killing, he easily understood what he had to do with that...

You bit your lip to try to hold back any sound; Michael reached down to lick the wound you had made.

You looked at his knife. To the ground.
A thousand hits from that weapon would have been better than the one it was pushing hard inside you.

His big dirty hands gripped your hips tightly. Your legs were free again, but at the mercy of that psycho.

You looked him straight in the eye, beyond the black holes of the mask.
《M-Michael...》  Your voice came out muffled.

《Don't you remember me...?》

- - -

Y/n's POV:

Finally it stopped. My body looked dead, from the hips until down.
It's normal, as it was the first time for me, but it was hard to accept that it would be so horrible.

But that wasn't what worried me now.
In that silent half-light, I could only hear the heavy breathing coming from his mask, staring at me.

I didn't say anything either, if it was a big mistake.
He pulled out his organ and, with a snap, grabbed both of those black paws that were blocking my arms on the floor.

I didn't understand what was suddenly happening and I wasn't sure it was back to the way he was...but maybe, he had never been.

The Entity decided it was time to leave and free me. I was having a hard time getting up, as I felt pain everywhere, even inside my head.

I didn't know what to think anymore.

《Maybe I was wrong...》  The killer's attention returned to me.
《I was hoping you could be different from others and from this world, but now I know it's not like that.》

Michael reached a hand towards me, but I pulled it away.
All I wanted was to go back and get everything back to the way it was before, as if this nightmare never happened.
Of course, Michael didn't listen to my request and grabbed me, to hold me tight.

...

Y/n.

Finally he spoke my name with his hoarse voice.
My clothes had been torn apart, along with my spirit and my stupid illusions.
Still, I wanted that hug so much.

I returned the gesture by grabbing his back and crying against his hard chest.

《Why...why did you do it?》  I asked him; despite the silence, his heart quickened with every second that passed.
He nodded upward.

Why had the Entity asked a killer in its realm to do such a thing to a survivor?

Before I could find an answer, I found myself catapulted back to camp...once again, the game was in the hand of the Entity.

《Y/n?! Answer me!》  Someone was calling me shaking my shoulder.
My gaze was fixed on the earth as I was lying, bent over.

I looked up and found Jake.
His gaze was concerned, but it wasn't the only one; behind him the others were watching me.
I noticed for a moment the frightened look of the girls and the inexplicably disgusted look of David and Laurie.

I understood why, after looking at myself.

I was trembling, even though I wasn't cold and I wanted to run away, away from everyone, but my legs couldn't get up.

My life had been turned upside down against my will and since I had tried to overturn the rules of this world, I had been punished.

I got up slowly, without Jake's help.

Luckily, I was wearing pants, although they had been taken off shortly before, but the rest was completely destroyed leaving me with only my bra.

"Shame"...that was what I had to feel, but I didn't want to.

I looked my companions straight in the eyes and some looked down.
Someone, and I already knew who, had whispered words I didn't want to remember.

The only place I could hide was the forest, so I headed there.
I sat down on a cold rock in the middle of the darkness. I was used to that by now.

I was about to close in on myself, when I heard footsteps approaching and then gloved hands grabbing my shoulders from behind.

His quiet presence still reminded me of my old home, now too far from me.
