3⋆Nightmare

Yeosang yanks the strap of the heavy bag, which keeps dropping down over his shoulder as he walks. Although his body is pretty sore from the wild night he had with Lucas, he still managed to get up fairly early and head towards Wooyoung's place. Lucas had to leave for work as well anyway, and Yeosang is looking forward to having some time by himself.

Lucas has been nagging him endlessly about wanting them to move in together in connection with their move to Seoul, but Yeosang had kept denying the offer. Despite his love for the handsome man, he also needs to be alone sometimes. And with that thought in mind, the knock on Wooyoung's door happens a bit hesitant.

"WELCOME HOME, SANGIE!" Wooyoung shouts the second he opens the door, almost blowing Yeosang away.

As soon as Yeosang sees Wooyoung in person again, he realizes just how much he has missed his best friend. Texts and Skype calls really aren't the same thing as hanging out in real life after all. Wooyoung throws himself at Yeosang, almost suffocating him with his hug.

"I can't believe you left me! Me! Your best friend through FIVE years!" Wooyoung complains, while leading Yeosang to the room that is about to be his new home. "I guess it's nine years by now though. NINE YEARS! Do you have any idea of how much I've missed you?"

"Oh God, here we go again," Yeosang mumbles, followed by a light chuckle as he turns to look at Wooyoung.

"Anyway, I'm making dinner for us tonight!" Wooyoung then says with a wide grin.

"You will make dinner?"

"Fine.. I will order take-away," Wooyoung corrects himself, pulling a grimace at the lack of trust in his, well, non-existing cooking skills. "Oh, I think San just came home! Let's go say hi!"

As Wooyoung turns around, Yeosang lets go of a silent sigh before following him into the living room. And sure enough, San has just returned home from work. The only contact Yeosang has had with San the last four years, has been when he was on video call with Wooyoung, and San had been forced to join.

"Hey, San..." Yeosang mumbles, and pulls a strained smile.

"Hey, Yeosang..." the blonde returns the greeting, with a just as forced smile on his face.

Yeosang can't explain why, but there's always been some weird vibe going on between him and San. Both of them have been hiding it though, avoiding making it even more awkward, but Yeosang has no doubt in mind that San feels the exact same way. Maybe it was their constant fight for Wooyoung's attention, one which Yeosang eventually had started to give up on though. It had become too tiring for him, and he had had other things to think about back then. And other people...

"I'll go unpack real quick, okay?" Yeosang says, trying to distract himself from the aching memory, of the one he should have forgotten a long time ago.

The first night in a new place is always strange, and Yeosang has yet to fall asleep despite the late hour of the night. While staring at nothing in particular, he taps his fingers against the mattress underneath him.

Tomorrow he needs to join Lucas at a welcome party held by Vogue - something that Yeosang isn't all that thrilled about, but of course he will go and support his boyfriend. But a large gathering like that, with all those fancy, shallow people isn't exactly what is the most appealing to him.

Lucas has texted him several times, reminding him to be ready at 3PM sharp, when his assistant will come and pick Yeosang up.

Yeosang rolls over to lie on his stomach instead, and he searches with his hand in the darkness for his phone. It's past 4AM already, but he doesn't feel tired at all. Instead he just scrolls through the meaningless posts on the news feed of his social medias, not really paying attention to any of it anyway.

He knows he should feel happy, grateful that his life is turning out pretty damn good. He has a place to stay, with his old friend, and despite not having a job yet he doesn't have to worry about anything financially. But the latter is really bugging him. Yeosang hates when Lucas spends money on him, and he refuses as much as he can. First of all, he doesn't like being spoiled - and second, he doesn't want to owe anyone anything.

And of course, he should feel happy that he has a handsome and successful boyfriend. Lucas is a real man, tall with broad shoulders, big hands and of course, a big dick. On top of that is he charming, speaks six languages and knows everything about anything in the world. Lucas is determined and a coldhearted businessman, and he is dominant in bed - knowing exactly how to satisfy every twisted need that Yeosang might feel. He is everything Yeosang could ever dream of, but sometimes Yeosang catches himself thinking that maybe Lucas is too perfect for him. And Yeosang has never been one to chase after the perfect things in life.

At exactly 3PM, there's a knock on the door. Yeosang is sitting in the living room, waiting to be picked up, he wouldn't dare being late on a day like today.

Outside the door is Lucas' assistant waiting.

"Hello, Mr. Kang. Are you ready to leave? Mr. Wong has asked me to accompany you to the city today, to pick up an outfit for tonight."

"Ah, Renjun... Please, just call me Yeosang, you know I don't like all that formality. And Lucas isn't here right now, so..." Yeosang replies with a small laugh, grabbing his jacket and keys before leaving the apartment.

"Oh, yes, I'm sorry Mr. K- I mean, Yeosang!" Renjun smiles, while they walk down the stairs of the apartment building.

Yeosang sighs heavily as the car pulls up in front of the Galleria East. It might not be a place he's ever actually been to, but he is knows that this is one of the fanciest luxury brand department stores in all of Seoul.

He reluctantly follows Renjun inside, the light-brown hair is bopping up and down with every step Renjun takes, and Yeosang can't help but smile. Renjun has always been so nice to him, and he is always so kind and cheerful. Too bad Lucas' assistants aren't allowed to get friendly with anyone associated to Lucas.

"Hello, Mr. Wong has made an appointment for us today," Renjun says as they are approaches by a sales associate.

"Ah, yes of course. Right this way," she smiles politely, and gestures for Renjun and Yeosang to follow her into a private fitting room, the sound of her stilettos echoes as she walks across the marble floors.

A rack of suits are already lined up and ready for Yeosang to try on. Lucas always goes way overboard, with anything actually, to Yeosang's big discomfort. Just walking into the store has made him feel uncomfortable and out of place, and he tries on the first suit, extremely carefully as he is scared he might ruin it.

"That looks astonishing on you," Renjun says excitedly, when Yeosang steps out from behind the curtain.

"I don't know... I feel rather awkward. Can't we go somewhere else? Somewhere, not as expensive?"

"Mr. Wong strictly told me to only take you to this place. I'm sorry. You'll have to choose one here. These suits are the ones he has pre-chosen for you. He'd be disappointed if you didn't take one of these."

"I know... It's just..." Yeosang fiddles with the tag hanging from the sleeve, and he freezes complete when he sees the price. "This is like $7.000! N-no way! I-I can't..."

"You shouldn't worry about the price, Yeosang. Any brand would be lucky to dress the boyfriend of the new editor-in-chief."

"But this is insane!" Yeosang complains, now too scared to even move around. Spending this amount of money on something like a simple, black suit jacket doesn't make sense to him. And he doesn't care if the brand will give it for free, it is still nothing but completely insane.

"Stand still, please. I'll send a photo of you to Mr. Wong. His request," Renjun says, yanking out his phone while avoiding Yeosang's continuous complaints about the prices.

A couple of hours later, Yeosang is sitting at a nicely decorated table in the middle of the large event hall. The room is filled with all the most important people in the fashion world; designers, editors, stylists, even celebrities. And then there is Yeosang. He might be disguised in a Tom Ford suit, but that doesn't mean he isn't feeling awkward being there.

As soon as all the formality and speeches are done, Yeosang finds his way to the bar, the wine served at the tables are no where near enough to keep him calm. He will never get used to people knowing his name, when he has no clue who they are, to have his picture being taken on the street when he is out with Lucas, and definitely not having to fake a smile all night while having empty conversations.

"Ah, babe, there you are!" Lucas calls out behind him. "There's someone I'd like you to meet."

Yeosang turns around, and he almost drops the drink he has just acquired. While everything about this evening has seemed like a strange dream of luxury, and people speaking with words Yeosang will never understand - it has now turned into a dark nightmare.

"Please say hello to the new head of my financial team, my new CFO! Park Seonghwa."
