I just finished writing Government and went to the cafeteria to have my lunch before going to write my second paper which is English, there's nothing hard in English so I just decide to use it as a period to relax.

Throughout this week it has been test upon test, the teachers made it hard for ss3 students especially by bringing topics from ss1 and ss2.

Today is the last day of mid terms, meaning the school is going to give us one week to rest before we continue our studies.

As I ordered my food which consisted of fries and ketchup, I sat down at the far end of the cafeteria. There weren't really much people in the cafeteria because some were either still writing exams or decided not to come.

I was about to dig in to the scrumptious food, but a shadow hovering over me restricted my actions.

I looked up only to meet the devil I've been avoiding this whole time, since this week started.

After he sent that message, I just haven't been at rest. So I blocked him and avoided him through out. He was in science class, so avoiding him wasn't that hard.

But now I'm face to face with him.

"Mind if I have a seat?" He asked.

I reluctantly nodded as I munched on my fries.

"What exactly are you doing here, I thought science students were writing physics today?" I found myself saying.

"There was nothing really important about physics, I wonder what's making the others so tense." He said.

Then I remembered he was the head boy and the most smartest person in our set.

I muttered an okay and continued eating my food trying to pretend he was not sitting close to me. Key word on trying.

After some awkward moments of silence he finally spoke. "Did you block me?"

I knew this was going to happen anyway so I decided to answer him. "Yes I did. Is there any problem?"

"Yes there are a lot of problems, that was so rude of you." He said.

"And telling me to be your girlfriend unprovoked is what?"

"Was it because of that you freaked out?" He asked.

"Well yes, a boy who hasn't even noticed your presence before just comes out of nowhere and asks you to be their girlfriend is just weird to me."

"Did you just say that I don't notice your presence? Well anybody who doesn't notice your presence is just blind or plain stupid in my opinion. Your beauty is ethereal."

I was astonished by his choice of words, maybe because no one has said such things to me before. His sentence left me speechless, but after some seconds I finally found my voice.

"Thank you, no one has said something like that to me before." I say sincerely.

"Not even your boyfriend shooting daggers at me." He said with a chuckle.

I turned back only to notice Derrick starring daggers at our table. I shuddered at the intensity and looked backed.

"So are the two of you good?"

"Not really. I wouldn't want to talk about it." I said straightforwardly.

"It's all good, I actually don't want any trouble, and I'm also sorry if my text sent you off guard. But..." He was reaching into his pocket to grab something.

"I'm throwing a party to celebrate the half of the term gone so I was just wondering if you could come?" He stretched the invite to me for me to receive.

I reluctantly grabbed it knowing that I would have nothing better to do at home anyways.

"See you later." I watched as he walked through the corners of seats and eventually exited the cafeteria.

I just looked at the invitation and sighed. I wasn't even sure of going, considering what happened in the last party I went to.

I put the card in my bag and continued to munch on my slightly cold food.

I felt like murdering him right on the spot. Removing all of his intestines and sell it to the babalowu. Just wipe out his existence from this earth.

The way he smiled at her, made her laugh and made brief body contacts just made me boil. My anger right now could boil rice right now.

"Derrick how far na, why you dey keep face light pregnant goat?" Dexter said eating his noodles.

"Can't you see where he has been looking at this whole time." Desmond pointed to the direction of Sonia and Victor.

Realization now hits him. "Na why you dey vex? Aren't you the one that was ignoring her or should I remind you that you haven't even made an effort to talk to her since the incident at that competition."

I ignored everything he said and focused on Victor who gave Sonia a paper of something and how their hands touched.

I watched Sonia staring at Victor as he walked out of the cafeteria.

I felt at peace now he was gone do I decided to eat my good, but as I grabbed my spoon to dig in I noticed that the two pieces of chicken had disappeared and what was left was the bone, the rice was also half which was weird because I ordered for two cups of rice.

I looked at the only people who could be capable of doing this. They were trying to stifle their laughter but failed badly.

"What is wrong with you guys?" I asked them actually annoyed at the situation.

"In our defence we never thought that you were going to eat the food anyway with the way you were so focused on shooting daggers at Victor, so we split the food and decided to remain a little for you." Desmond explained still stifling his laughter.

"Is that suppose to make me feel any better?"

"Next time eat your food on time." Dexter said causing Desmond to laugh boisterously.

I carried my bag and left the cafe out of annoyance. I hope they choke on the food.

As I walked out of the cafeteria I bumped into something or rather someone.

"Hey you good?" The person tried helping me to balance.

When I became aware of my surroundings I noticed the person who I bumped into. And I wasn't even expecting to encounter this person.

Me and Victor aren't really friends, I would just call him someone I've known for the past five years and haven't spoke to.

"Yes I'm good." I replied.

I was about to sidestep and leave but he called back.

"I hope we're good tho?"

"What are you talking about?" I asked in confusion.

"There's no need to act oblivious, I saw when you were shooting daggers at me when I was talking to Sonia."

Realization hit me, that's when I figured that I was glaring at him indiscreetly.

"What's your deal with Sonia anyway?" I asked out of the blues.

"What are you saying bro? Can't I talk to her."

"I don't even trust you one bit. No offense but you're too shady for my liking, and please avoid Sonia she doesn't need you."

I say with finality in my tone but his words brought me back.

"And what if I don't stay away from her? What will you do?" He asks daringly.

"Are you daring me?" I move closer to him.

"No I'm not daring you, but you're acting like one overprotective boyfriend when the two of you aren't even dating. Or are the both of you dating in your dreams?"

That was the last straw, I grabbed the collar of his shirt and looked at his eyes, even though the both of us were practically the same height he looked so small to me.

"I'll not say this again, stay away from Sonia or the consequences aren't going to be favourable to you."

"Baba no dey rumple my uniform." He pushed me off him to my surprise.

"Sonia doesn't think that I'm a bother to her so why should I stay away from her? If not for my reputation as the head boy I for don beat you here."

With those last words of his he left me standing there like a fool.

It was the end of school and everyone was excited to go home to enjoy their mid term break. I was busy packing my books then I noticed Zainab coming into the class with a sullen look on her face.

She looked like she just got into a fight with someone, because her veins were popping out of her head and her fists were balled tightly making her knuckles white.

"Zainab are you okay?" I asked immediately she was about to go to her seat.

She seemed shocked that I asked that question but she later replaced it with a nonchalant expression.

"I didn't think you cared about me up to this point." She muttered as she started backing her books from her locker.

"Well I do care, so what's wrong?"

"Have you ever loved someone up to a point that you're ready to sacrifice everything for them, but the person you love is just indecisive about what he truly wants."

I knew for sure that she was talking about Victor.

"Is this about Victor?" I found myself asking.

The colour drained out of her face when I said that but she still regained composure. "I don't know what you're talking about?"

"I've seen you guys on several occasions fighting and arguing about one thing or the other."

"I have to go." She hurriedly packed her stuff in her bag.

I watched as she ran out of the classroom bumping into people without saying sorry.

With a release of breath I grabbed my backpack and walked away till I reached the school gate.

Even though things aren't perfect at least I'm going to be away from this school for one week.

A car pulled up in front of me and the window came down revealing Victor.

"Hi Sonia get in we'll drop you home." He says referring to his driver.

I decided to hop in because I can't be trekking under this hot sun.

As I got in, I saw Zainab afar looking at me with dead eyes.

I removed my head from her direction and got comfortable.
