I listened to my friends talking about the incident that happened hours ago, but my only concern was Sonia. I wonder if she's still angry.

"Wetin this one dey think about." Dexter's words were accompanied by a slap at my back making me wince in pain.

I glared at him but he wore a nonchalant expression.

"Why are you even sitting down here, aren't you suppose to be comforting Sonia?" I didn't answer the question, instead I focused my attention to the students walking in the love garden.

"Anything that's on your mind you can tell us, we listen and we don't judge." Desmond said taking a seat on the bench adjacent us.

After taking a deep breath I opened up to them about the fight me and Sonia had and how it's hindering me from talking to her.

When I finished my explanation they just stared at me like I was mad.

"You well so?" Dexter attacked me instantly, slapping my head.

"Guy now, I thought you said you weren't going to judge." I whined still massaging my head.

"I judge you and you're guilty of being a stupid person. If you know what's good for you carry your two legs and go and meet that girl." Dexter dragged me up from my chair and started pushing me to the direction of the female hostel.

"Guy are you mad? I can't be seen here." I shrugged his hands off me as soon as we reached the gate.

"If you don't do this now, she'll probably get more angry at you than she is now, and all the staff are having a meeting you're good." Dexter without turning back took off and left me there alone.

I took a deep breath and said my prayers. I inhaled one more time before opening the gate. I regretted coming here because the things my eyes laid on weren't pleasant at all. I almost forgot this was a girls hostel.

Some girls were in there underwear, some half naked and some were... Let me not even go there. I tried to act stealthily and make my presence unaware but that didn't work at all.

As soon as a particular girl pointed at me the rest looked back and they continued pointing and pointing until it became known that there was a boy in the hostel.

I inwardly cussed, some girls were looking at me seductively while some were probably wondering why I was here.

I just wanted to carry my legs and go to where I was coming from but I had to see Sonia first.

A girl wearing only short biker shorts and a half cut came walking towards me seductively.

Dexter was not lying when he said the girls here were beautiful, but I didn't have time for that I just wanted to see Sonia.

"Hi handsome," she said stroking my chest with one finger. "Can I help you?"

"If she's not here then I'll be on my way then." I was about to walk away when I felt hands on my body restricting me from moving further.

"Derrick what's going on here?" Sonia's voice rang in my ears causing me to look at her. Behind her were Kelechi and Flora. As she got closer I noticed her eyes were red and swelled up.

"Are you kidding me!" The girl I pushed away earlier exclaimed in anger as she got up from the floor.

"You rejected me because of her, a daughter of a fraud and thief, are you for real?" She looked at Sonia in disgust.

"No o, he's for fake, ozour." Kelechi answered the question for me. "See how you're there forcing yourself on him like someone that does not have home training, omo your parents for just sleep that night."

I've always known Kelechi for having a sharp mouth, being brave and having an unfiltered tongue, so none of this really surprised me.

"Is it me you're talking to, if I-" She was about to pounce on Kelechi but I held her back.

I quickly removed my mind from her and noticed we were now here. She opened the door and gestured for me to go in.

I followed her inside and was greeted by the smell of lavender. She closed the door and sat down on one of the bunk bed, bringing out her laptop and started paying attention to it.

After some moments of silence I decided to ask. "What are you watching?"

She removed her gaze from the laptop and fixed her attention on me. "I'm watching Riverdale my comfort series."

She answers and focuses her attention back on her laptop.

"Look I'm sorry." I say without thinking twice.

She sighs before closing the laptop and focusing on me. "What exactly are you sorry for?"

"For everything, for the fight we had, for not understanding your point of view, I really don't know what I'm sorry for but I'm sorry please it's killing me." I move to the bed were she sat and held her hands.

"Um, it's okay we're all cool. I honestly don't want to fight you, if anything I really need your company right now." Tears come out of her eyes as she hugs me so tightly like her life depended on it.

"Everything will be okay Sonia." I reassure her.

"Nothing is going to be ever okay, since people keep on blaming me for my fathers crimes. I just want all this to stop, what did I ever do wrong by coming to this earth? Even the people I thought I trusted backstabbed me. Am I cursed?"

I hated seeing her like this, seeing her cry. I want the Sonia whose skin always glows when she smiles, her brown eyes that gleamed were now red from much crying.

"Sonia you're not cursed, you came to this world for a purpose, you may not know but you're a grace to some people, 'like me', don't think that your existence is a mistake. People in this life love you for who you are 'like me'. Now please stop crying it's spoiling your beautiful face." I say with a smile causing her to chuckle before cleaning her tears.

"I'm happy I have you in my life please never leave me." She held my hands, her eyes pleading that I'll always stay no matter what.

"I would never leave you." I promised her.

In the moment, I realized that our faces were so close to each other. Sonia also noticing it glanced at my lips before biting hers.

"I think you should leave now, the teachers would soon be back from their meeting and you should have a proper rest do we can leave tomorrow." Sonia pushed me out of the room without making eye contact.
