We got to Flora's house in less than 20 minutes and Derick's driver horned at the gate.

A man who should be clocking his late thirties, wearing worn out clothes and bathroom slippers opened the gate and the car drove in.

We entered the compound and I just had to take in the ethereal beauty of the environment. The colours cream and silver made the house so aesthetic to look at.

"So should I follow you or I should just wait here?" His question snapped me back into reality.

"I think you should just wait here, I just want to check up on her." I replied him.

"But if things get out of hand promise to call me." He told me just as I stepped out of the car.

After I reassured him that I'll be fine I took slow strides to the house. I took in a deep breath before ringing the doorbell that was placed on the right hand side of the brown mahogany door.

"Coming." A voice of a lady said.

The door opened, revealing a short woman who looked like she was in her forties or so.

"Hi I'm here to see Flora." I said straight to the point.

She looked at me from head to toe before gesturing for me to come in. I came inside and was blown away by the interior decoration of the house.

Cream chairs placed adjacent each other with a wooden table at the middle and a television placed below a fireplace. It looked so homely and expensive at the same time.

"Just take a seat, she'll be out to see you soon." The lady's voice snapped me out of my trance.

I stayed for like a few minutes before I heard the sound of somebody's slippers hitting the slabs of the stairs. I looked around expecting Flora but I was greeted with a confused looking Florence.

She walked slowly towards me like I was an alien that lost its way.

"You miss road?" She queried at me.

"Miriam o!" She shouted someone's name and the lady who opened the door for me came rushing in.

"Yes ma." The lady answered looking confused.

"Why did you allow her in?" Florence asked the confused lady. When the lady took too long respond Florence snapped. "Are you deaf or what?! I said why is this girl here?"

The lady was finally in her right senses and responded, "she came to see Flora so I let her in."

"Are you stupid? So one random person just came in and you let them in. If she is a kidnapper nko? Are you foolish or what!"

I was actually surprised at me way she was talking to the lady in front of her. I didn't expect it at all.

"Florence please can you just stop being childish!" A voice stopped Florence from her incessant ranting.

Flora was on the staircase looking at the whole scene happening clad in a robe and a bonnet. She completely descended the stairs and walked towards us.

Her face looked pale and her eyes were heavy. I suddenly started feeling guilty, guilty of not being there when she needed me. I've just been focusing on myself and not being there for her.

I remembered her standing up for me when everyone was against the idea of me being part of the competition. I remembered it just like it was yesterday and also her words of reassurance.

"Why are you down here, aren't you supposed to be resting?" Florence directed her question to a weak Flora.

"I was, then I heard a sudden display of madness and I decided to check it out." She replied her shifting her gaze towards me.

"Hi Sonia." Flora waved at me weakly.

I offered a small smile at her and she smiled back but our moment was disrupted by Florence clearing her throat.

"Sonia get out and Flora go back to your room right now!" Her voice was raised to the core.

"Florence please shut the fuck up! Stop acting like an imbecile for once." Flora shouted on top her voice clearly frustrated, she then started coughing and beating her chest.

The lady from earlier whose name I guessed was Miriam rushed to the kitchen and came back with a glass of water. She gave it to Flora who accepted and started patting her back.

Flora stopped coughing after sometime and used her hand gesturing for me to follow her.

I silently followed her not saying a word while I ignored Florence's death glares.

She led the way, taking a left turn which a cream door was situated. She opened the door and the whole room screamed Flora. The walls were painted lilac with some flowers and a few Ayra Star and SZA posters pasted. A queen sized bed was also placed at the wall with lilac bedsheets.

It all seemed welcoming and calm. She sat down on her bed while I stood there awkwardly, so I decided to break the silence.

"So how are you feeling?" I asked with a small smile placed on my lips.

"Do I look like I'm fine?" She redirected the question back to me.

She sighed and started playing with her fingers before she shifted her gaze to me again.

"You know, they always expect me to be fine but I'm not. That's what I get for keeping this personality of mine, they always think I'm happy and I'm sick of it. They don't know the demons I'm battling!" She shouted on top of her voice and tears started spilling out of her eyelids.

I quickly made my way to her and engulfed her in a hug. I always knew that behind the always happy and energetic Flora was just a girl that's struggling with life.

I released her from the hug after sometime and watched her clean her eyes.

"You know sometimes I don't want to be in this darn place called earth." Flora said looking outside her window where a terrace was.

"SZA once said life's better on Saturn, and I totally agree. There are no people there to judge you and criticize you. You can just stay there and be yourself. It's very hard you know, being happy cause that's what everyone expects from you."

I took her hands in mine and reassured her. "No matter what you're going through always feel free to express the emotion, you must not hide you're feelings cause of what people will say."

She nodded to my words and gave a little smile.

"And I guess you're feeling this way cause of Dexter right?" Her face fell at my question but she still nodded her head positively.

"Listen just give him sometime he'll surely come around, just don't beat yourself about it."

"And how do you he'll do that?" She questioned, expecting me to answer.

"I just know." I gave her a smile.

My phone vibrated indicating a text message from Derrick, I opened it and it read; 'Are you good? You've been in there for like 24 hours🤧'.

This boy and exaggerating, I'm sure I haven't even spent up to one hour in this place. I inwardly laughed at the message before putting my phone away.

"I better get going now, call me if you need someone to talk to." I told her and she waved at me before I exited the room.

As I descended the stairs, a raging Florence greeted me. I subconsciously rolled my eyes, I seriously don't have time for this.

She looked at me head to toe before she hissed and walked away.

Only God knows what's doing that one sha.

"So what's going on that you almost spent three days there." He said as soon as I entered the car.

Three days kwanu?

"Can you just stop exaggerating." I said laughing. " I didn't even spend up to an hour there."

"Even though, I was even scared they kidnapped you."

I burst into laughter again as he spilled those words.

"You are there laughing, if they kidnap you you I'm not paying money for them to release you o." He said jokingly before telling his driver to drive.

"But on a serious note how did it go?" He asked again this time without his joking nature.

"She's just sick and she's also being emotional because of what that your friend did to her."

"You better tell him to resolve this matter, since that your stupid plan didn't work."

He feigned shock. "Did you just call the greatest plan in the world stupid."

"It's not only greatest." I laughed.

"Yeah I better take you home, it's getting late." He said.

"But please tell Dexter to do something about this, I don't really like the state Flora is in." I told him sincerely.

"You know I would do anything for you." He looked me straight into my eyes as he uttered those words causing my body to tingle.
