chapter 1
DON'T ASK ME FOR UPDATES!
___________
Soft sniffles filled the livingroom while a figure curled up into themselves on the couch, tears streaming down their face as a storm of emotions welled up within them.
Anger, betrayal, hate, disgust, guilt and so many others drowned the teen that was so desperately trying to swim to the top. Yet was unable to do so.
She couldn't- didn't want to believe that her grandmother gone.
Gone for good, unable to return.
And it was all her fault.
If only she had listened to her Grams, if only she had listened to her gut and had not given into the screams and cries of anguish coming from her friend then her grandmother would still be here.
She'd be her ranting about the students in her classes, she'd be here telling her of her ancestors, of their magic, of their spells. She'd be here to hold her, to tell her that everything would be okay, that she could stand against those that want to do nothing but hurt and use her. She would be here to tell Bonnie that she did not need to damage her hair just to fit in. That she could be herself, people would still her if she was.
But Sheila wasn't here.
And Bonnie blamed herself for that fact. Why did she care about Elena so much when the girl clearly doesn't give a fuck about her?
God, the Bennett teen felt stupid. She felt used.
She should have left Stefan and Damon in that tomb, she didn't even like any of the brothers, only getting them out of it because her so call friend was whining about it. Couldn't she have waited? Just for a few weeks or so? Why did the two have to get out on that exact night??
That could have waited until she and her Grams got their strenght back. But Elena wanted them out that exact night, saying no when Sheila suggested just waiting.
It was as she needed Stefan to breathe or some shit and Bonnie wouldn't even try to understand why Elena felt bad for the oldest Salvatore brother.
He's an asshole and she wasn't even sure what all the male had done to Caroline.
Though a big part of her believed that Elena knows exactly what happened.
But if she did, she would have told her right? Wrong. Bonnie believes that the teen was hiding from her and Caroline seemed to have holes in her memory.
Bonnie felt as if she knew why but her mind was too foggy to really think of it right now.
She hated the fact that they opened the tomb for Damon of all people. And said person wasn't even in there. Her Grams died for fucking nothing but she enjoyed the look of sorrow and pain on Damon's face. She felt like she should feel bad for him but he's a horrible person so too bad honestly.
He deserved more pain in her eyes.
Because atleast the woman he wanted to get is still alive, her Grams isn't.
She really do wishes that the Salvatore's had never stepped foot in the town.
Caroline wouldn't have gone through all the things that she did, her Grams would have still been alive and Elena would've been her old self.
But now that she thinks about it, was the old Elena just a fake? Because she wasn't the same as before and the change seem to have happened overnight.
I'm so fucking stupid, she thinks as a sob passes her lips. She can feel that she was starting to get a headache from all of the crying she did and is still doing.
The doorbell suddenly rang and the girl lets out a groan. As much as she loves Caroline and adores Jeremy for caring, she wasn't really in the mood today. So maybe if she doesn't answer, they would leave. She feels bad for doing this as the two were the only ones that cared for her but she just couldn't deal with any sort of coddling right now.
Well, maybe from one person.
But said person hasn't been answering her calls and she can only hope that they are okay.
She hears the doorbell again and lets out another groan.
"Bon, open the door!" She hears and she instantly perks up, her heart pounding in her chest as she knew that voice. It's the voice of the person she's been trying to call. "I'm melting out here girl!" They yell out and the teen couldn't help but let out shaky laugh as she drags herself off of the couch, nearly falling to the floor.
Her legs trembled and ached, maybe she shouldn't have stayed curled up on that couch for as long as she did but but that didn't matter right now.
She was here. She's okay and she is here. Unless Bonnie is dreaming and she has a feeling that she isn't.
Because eversince her Grams had died, it was all she dreamed about.
Though the dreams were worse than the reality.
The dark skinned teen slowly inches to the door, careful on her aching legs that felt as if they want to snap, crackle and pop underneath her weight.
"It's not even that hot." An voice speaks up and Bonnie furrows her brows as she blinks in surprise. Who was that? And is that an accent she's hearing? "Ugh, Shut the fuck up, Enzo." Her favorite person says with a scoff and it brought a smile to Bonnie's lips.
Of course they'd be the one to get her to laugh and smile in such times without even trying.
She quickly rushes towards the door as carefully as she can, this wasn't a dream. This was real. She was here.
For her.
She unlocks the door and it swings open causing Bonnie to flinch from the sun as she lets out a hiss. "The fuck are you??" The taller woman outside mutters as she eyes her niece as the girl does her very best to cower from the sun, shuffling to the side behind the door.
"Bitch do you not go outside anymore?" Sonali questions the teen blankly as her best friend behind her snorted but it was cut short when he's nudged in his side.
The male huffs lowly. "Abusive ass," he mutter and Sonali rolls her eyes she will show his ass abusive if he keeps testing her.
Bonnie only rolls her eyes, blinking as she tried to get used to the sun again. It hasn't even been that long but again, it's the fucking sun. This bitch hates on all it can.
"I do," she lies and Sonali pursed her lips as Bonnie eyes the woman.
She looks rich and expensive. Of atleast that's what it's giving with her outfit and the jewerly she was wearing and is that an engagment ring??
[Sonali's outfit, heels, purse, hair and nails.]
[Her necklace, ring, engagement ring and sunglasses.]
"Sure, invite me in hoe." Sonali tells the teen. As she could tell, she has a potty as hell mouth. Best believe that Sheila had tried keeping her from being around her niece alone because who the hell knows what words she would have taught the child.
Bonnie furrows her brows at that. Invite her in? "Come in," she says. This was her aunt afterall and there was no one that she trusted more.
"Thank ya," the older woman says as she walks into the house and instantly tugs her niece into a warm hug that the girl melted into as she hugs her auntie back. Fresh tears wells up in her eyes as she squeezes the woman, face burying into her chest. "S-she's gone," Bonnie cries out softly and Sonali felt her heart ache at the pain in Bonnie's voice, her grip on the teen tightening.
She wasn't as close to Sheila as Bonnie is because of being an outcast and all but her mother still loved her. And she loves her mother still, even when she's gone.
"I know, Bon." She whispers softly as her eyes welled up with tears, rubbing her niece's back gently.
Enzo eyes the two with a soft sad smile on his lips. "I'll get the bags," he mutters lowly and see's the slight nod from his best friend before he turns away and heads to the car.
"It'll be hard but it doesn't mean that we still can't talk to her and see her," Sonali says and Bonnie looks up at her with a confused gaze, sniffling slightly. "What do you mean?" She mutters.
It made Sonali arch an eyebrow. What has her mother been teaching Bonnie? Has she even taught her anything at all?
"Oh, we're Bennett's honey. We can do anything we put our minds too," she says with a soft smile Enzo returned with her bags in hand.
She glances over at the male before she looks back at Bonnie.
"This is my best friend," she tells Bonnie as she points at Enzo, causing the teen to look over towards the handsome as hell male who gives her smile which she had shyly returned. His voice is hot and so is he.
How could her aunt be only is friend?? No wait, she's engaged it seems- why in the fuck didn't she know that? She was going to to ask in a bit. Her eyes trailed over Enzo, yeah, he's one fine man. Her Grams wouldn't hate her for thinking all this at the moment right?
She nearly rolls her eyes, imagining the woman in her ghostly form yelling at her to 'get it, girl'. Yeah, her Grams may only hate her if she doesn't go for it.
But then again, every guy she had liked- which isn't many- only went for Elena.
Why would this time be different? And she could imagine Grams and her aunt smacking her thinking such a thing to be honest.
"He's a vampire but a trusted one." Her aunt adds, snapping her ass out of her thoughts. She looked back at her aunt for a moment then back at the male who smiled almost nervous.
Oh- well damn- what a fine ass vampire. Bonnie thinks. She doesn't believe that all are bad, plus this one is friends with her aunt who has the best judgement.
"We won't force you to inv-" Sonali says but is quickly cut off. "You can come in." Bonnie tells the vampire who thanks her before walking into the house as Sonali eyes her niece. "Horny fr-" she starts to say but is once again cut off by Bonnie who was very glad to be black or her face would have bee a dark red. "Aunt Ni!" She exclaims and the woman just holds up her hands in surrender.
Damn, she was just saying.
But she knew a horny freak when she saw one.
She should Bonnie upside the head but she honestly has no right do so.
"Well, now is not the time to say it but I told you so." Sonali sighs out moments after Bonnie told her exactly what had happened and how Sheila died. The two sat on the couch that Bonnie was rotting on. Enzo was in kitchen, making a meal for Bonnie, Sonali and himself.
He had decided to cook after Bonnie had let it slip that she hadn't eaten much. It didn't sit well Sonali nor Enzo.
"Always hated Elena." The oldest Bennett mutters in distaste. She didn't know why she hated Elena- well disliked her but at the moment, she has a good reason to do so now. Something just always felt a bit off about the child.
Her magic didn't seem to like the girl. It would spiral out of control even when she hadn't even siphoned any magic. It was weird so she just kept her distance from the child. Therefore she hasn't seen Elena since the girl was 11 or 12.
A sigh passes her lips as she gently rubs Bonnie's arm as the girl deflated. She'd really saw Elena as her friend, a real one but she shouldn't have.
"Listen to me, Bon." Sonali says and the looks up at her with tears eyes. It tugged at the siphoner's heart.
She's going to make Elena pay and those Salvatores too. "We both know that mom wouldn't want you beating up youself," she starts softly, wiping away a tear that slid down the teen's cheek. "She would smack the shit out of you for doing so." She adds, making Bonnie choke out a laugh, shaking her head slightly but she knew that Sonali was right.
"I know Auntie Ni, I just miss her." She sighs out softly with a sniffle. "Then lets speak with her, hm?" Sonali says and the teen furrowed her brows. She still isn't sure what her Aunt meant by that.
Sonali soon took Bonnie's hands into her own, squeezing them. "Close your eyes, think of nothing but your Grams." She tells the teen who slowly nods her head as she watches her Aunt close her eyes first. Bonnie soon follows after. "Relax, take a deep breath." Sonali says softly and the teen does just that, taking a deep breath as she feels the weight lifted off her shoulders.
It was a good feeling. It made her feel so much lighter.
"Now think of her, Bonnie. Think of her being here with us." The woman states and Bonnie gulps as she lets out a soft breath, imagining her Grams here with them. Imagining that she was here and that she was sitting with her, hugging her.
"What the fuck?" Bonnie lets out as her eyes snapped open when she infact felt someone hugging her. "Oh, teens these days." A very familiar voice sighs out and the teen eyes widen as tears well up in her eyes as she stares at her Aunt who just winks at her before pulling both of her hands away.
Bonnie turns around and a sob of utter happiness and disbelief passes her lips when she see's her grandmother.
"Grams!" She exclaims as she throws herself into the woman's arms, hugging her tightly as she was hugged back.
It would have been embarrassing if she went through the woman and fell onto her face in the couch, rolling onto the floor after.
Sheila smile softly as she hugs Bonnie, glamcing over towards Sonali who gives her a small wave, making her soft smile on her lips grow.
They may not be the closest but Sonali is still her daughter no matter what she is and she loves her. She's glad that Sonali came here, she can do things that Sheila could only dream of doing.
The main one is breaking Bonnie out of her shell. She's a Bennett, a strong one and she needed to be confident in herself and her magic.
