Makena hopped out of the plane, just outside of the border of Wakanda. Erik dragged out the body of Klaue and Makena pulled her gun out warningly when one of the Royal tribes of Wakanda walked towards them, still staying in the border.

"What is this?" A man, Makena assumed he was the leader of this tribe.

"Just a little gift." Erik stated, unzipping the body bag, revealing Klaue with a bullet wound in his head. Makena noticed relief wash over the man's face, boy did Erik have this all figured out.

"Who are you?" He asked, speaking Xhosa. Makena understood as Erik had told her about the language and she made an effort to learn it.

"All right, where am I?" Mr. Ross said, looking around Shuri's lab with confusion written on his face.

"Don't scare me like that, colonizer!" Shuri huffed, glancing at the man before looking back to her work. "What? My name is Everett." Ross stammered in confusion and offense.

"Yes, I know. Everett Ross, former air force pilot and now CIA," Shuri said, casually listing Ross's career.

"Right. Okay, is this Wakanda?"

"No, it's Kansas," Shuri replied sarcastically. Ross sighed, questioning himself on why he just asked that dumb question, "How long ago was Korea?"

"Yesterday," Shuri mumbled.

"I don't think so. Bullet wounds don't just magically heal overnight," Ross said.

Shuri chuckled softly, "They do here. But not by magic, by technology." Shuri glanced back seeing Ross look at her projects, "Don't touch anything. My brother will return soon."

Ross nodded and walked over to the glass windows that overlooked the trains that transported the vibranium. "These train things...that's magnetic levitation, right?"

"Obviously," Shuri glanced up.

"Obviously, but I've never seen it this efficient.

"The light panels, what are they?" Ross asked.

"Sonic stabilizers."

"-Sonic what?"

Shuri then walked over to stand near Ross, "In its raw form vibranium is too dangerous to be transported at that speed..so I developed a way to temporarily deactivate it." Ross furrowed his brows, "There's vibranium on those trains?"

Shuri chuckled softly, "There's vibranium all around us. That's how I healed you." She walked over to her desk and her Kimoyo Beads went off. She raised a finger signaling Ross to be quiet.

Okoye's face appeared from Shuri's bracelet and she spoke. "Where is T'Challa? His Kimoyo Beads have been switched off." It was clear Okoye was not fond of this as it was her duty to make sure the King was safe at all times.

"Well, we are not joined at the hip, Okoye."

"A man showed up at the border who claims to have killed Klaue. He was also with a teenage girl," Okoye said.

"What?"

"W'Kabi is transporting them, as we speak, to the palace. We need to find your brother!"

Shuri walked over to a see through board and scanned over it so a very life size picture of Erik Killmonger showed up and details about him. "An outsider?"

"No, a Wakandan."

"He's not a Wakandan. He's one of ours." Ross imputed.

Minutes later, T'Challa and Nakia were at Shuri's lab.

"Erik Stevens. Graduated Annapolis age 19, MIT for grad school. Joined the SEALs and went straight to Afghanistan where he wrapped up confirmed kills like it was a video game. Started calling him Killmonger. He joined a JSOC ghost unit. Now these guys are serious. They will drop off the grid so they can commit assassinations and take down governments." Agent Ross informed the three Wakandans.

"Did he reveal anything about his identity?" T'Challa asked.

"He has a War Dog tattoo but we have no record of him." Shuri said.

"And what of the girl?" T'Challa asked.

Shuri pulled up the exact thing she did with Killmonger and it showed a life size image of Makena. "Same thing for her. Tattoo but no record. When you asked me to find what I could about her, I only found out what the US government has on her. And just things about her family life."

"Makena Ahmed. Seventeen years old and a very highly wanted criminal. She's a professional hacker. She was officially on the run when she helped her brother escape the police when he turned on his ops team. There's hardly anything to go on by her, she leaves no traces wherever she goes. I've been trying to find her for months. I don't even have a record on her parents," Ross said.

"You don't?" Shuri asked with a raise of her brows.

Agent Ross shook his head and Shuri pulled up Makena's birth certificate. It was hard to find as Makena tried to hack into the system to completely erase it but Shuri found it. "Her mother's name is Zenna Ahmed, a woman who is a mix of African American and Egyptian. Her father's name is Kenni. Son of Badu and brother of Zuri," Shuri informed.

Nakia let out a gasp of shock, she didn't think Kenni had any children. T'Challa looked down with disappointment. Kenni was known to be a very good person. He didn't think someone so nice could be hiding a secret so big. And that they could leave their children and not look back. "I wonder if she knows he's no longer with us," Nakia mumbled.

"If she doesn't, then it will be very hard to tell her."

"What else do we know about her?" T'Challa asked.

"She was a subject for Hydra when they were testing children. I think she has abilities but I don't think she has ever used them or learned to use them. I don't think she herself knows she has them," Shuri explained. This wasn't anything new to Ross who knew she was a test subject for Hydra but he wasn't aware of Makena having any abilities.

"Then we must talk with her alone. Without him talking in her ear."

Makena let out a small impatient sigh as they were lead to the throne room. Erik had cuffs behind his back but Makena was cuffed from the front as she had refused to have her arms behind her. The doors opened and they were escorted inside. Makena looked around, they clearly had a lot of protection in this room. Makena looked at the man on the throne, she assumed he was obviously the King and the Black Panther.

As she looked away from his she noticed a girl on his left, already looking at her. Makena smirked to herself and looked at Erik.

"Speak," The King said in Xhosa.

"Speak," W'Kabi translated.

"I'm standing in your house...serving justice to a man who stole your vibranium and murdered your people. Justice your king couldn't deliver." Erik stated. The King stood up and walked over, Okoye following behind him and the Dora Milaje nearby in case. Makena stepped away slightly and watched everything unfold.

"I don't care that you brought Klaue. Only reason I don't kill you where you stand is because I know who you are. Now what do you want?" The King asked Killmonger.

"I want the throne."

A few tribe leaders laughed, not taking Erik seriously and that was something they would learn to regret.

"Y'all sittin' up here comfortable. Must feel good. It's about two billion people all over the world that looks like us. But their lives are a lot harder. Wakanda has the tools to liberate 'em all." Makena glanced down at her cuffs, trying to figure out how she would be able to break them off.

"And what tools are those?"

"Vibranium. Your weapons."

"Our weapons will not be used to wage war on the world. It is not our way to be judge, jury and executioner for people who are not our own." The King responded.

Makena glanced up and scoffed, grabbing everyone's attention. "Not your own? But didn't life start right here on this continent? So ain't all people your people?" Makena raised a brow and the king looked at her. "I am not king of all people. I am King of Wakanda. And it is my responsibility to make sure our people are safe and that vibranium does not fall into the hands of people like you."

Makena clenched her jaw and glared at the King who had now turned to look at Erik who wasn't happy with what he just said.

"Son. We have entertained this charlatan for too long. Reject his request." Makena glanced over, she assumed this was the King's mother.

"Oh, I ain't requesting nothing. Ask who I am," Erik said.

"You're Erik Stevens. An American black operative. A mercenary nicknamed Killmonger. That's who you are." Shuri interjected and Makena smiled to herself.

"I see she's done her reading," Makena chuckled.

"That's not my name, Princess. Ask me, King."

"No."

"Ask me."

The King turned around and started walking up to his trone. "Take him away," he ordered.

"Who are you?!" The leader of the River Tribe asked in Xhosa.

"I am N'Jadaka, son of Prince N'Jobu." Erik exclaimed.

"Son of N'Jobu?" One of the leader questioned in confusion, unaware N'Jobu had a son.

"I found my daddy with Panther claws in his chest! You ain't the son of a king. You a son of a murderer." Erik said to the King who's back was turned.

"You're lying!" Ramonda yelled in disbelief. "Lies!"

"I am afraid not, Queen Mother." W'Kabi held up a gold chain with a ring attached to it. It must've been something similar to T'Chaka's ring. Ramonda held out her hand and W'Kabi set the necklace with the ring in her hand.

"Hey Auntie," Erik smirked.

"I'm exercising my blood right to challenge for the mantles of the king..and the Black Panther," Erik stated.

"Do not do this T'Challa," Ramonda warned her son.

"As the son of Prince N'Jobu, he is within his rights," the border tribe elder said. "He has no rights here!" Ramonda shot back.

"The challenge will take weeks to prepare!"

"Weeks? I don't need weeks. The whole country ain't gotta be there. I just need him. And somebody to get me outta these chains."

"T'Challa, what do you know of this?"

"I accept your challenge," T'Challa answered.

As W'Kabi went to take the two away, T'Challa stopped him. "Leave the girl."

Erik looked at Makena in concern, "You gonna alright?" Makena nodded and they escorted Erik out, leaving Makena by herself in the room.

T'Challa stood up and walked towards her, she held no fear unlike how many people would act. "What is your goal here? What do you benefit from sticking by his side?" T'Challa asked.

Makena smiled to herself, she found everything amusing, it was something her brother hated about her. She could never take anything seriously. "If you wanna know why I'm here you could just ask. I mean there's not much to hide, it's not a secret. He promised me when he becomes king he'll help me find my father," Makena shrugged.

T'Challa looked down with a sigh and turned around, sharing a look with Shuri and Makena squinted her eyes in suspicion. "What? Is there something I need to know?"

Shuri stepped forward and Makena looked at her. "You're father is Kenni, son of Badu." Makena's eyes lit up from the sound of her father's real name. Her mom told her that his name was Joseph. The tribe elders were obviously shocked to hear Kenni had a daughter. As was the Queen.

"Well where is he? Is he here? Just tell me where, please," Makena practically begged the princess.

Shuri couldn't escape the tear that fell from her eye, and Makena's hopeful face dropped. "He is no longer with us. He is with the ancestors," Shuri said.

Makena blinked away her tears, she didn't want to show vulnerability in front of anyone she hardly knew. "Makena. I need to know if you are a threat to us," T'Challa spoke up.

Makena looked at the King with sadness on her features. "A threat? I just wanted to see my dad. I know it may seem like I'm a bad person but everything I ever did in my life was for my family. And now you just told me exactly why it was all for nothing."

"It was not all for nothing, you can still have a purpose here," Shuri said.

"What purpose?! He was the last important person in my life and now he's gone! That means I can finally die and not feel guilty," Makena said. Makena broke the cuffs and grabbed the knife in her shoe before stabbing herself in the stomach. "No!" Shuri ran over as Makena fell to the floor.

"We must take her to my lab," Shuri ordered and two of the Dora's nodded and lifted her up. "Shuri you have an hour," Ramonda said, already sensing how much Shuri had taken a liking to the girl despite not knowing her very long.

Maybe if Makena could change then they would be good friends. Ramonda thought.

Shuri nodded and followed them off to the lab.
