Natasha grabbed Makena's hand and lead her into the compound before Makena could change her mind and fly off. "I'm not a child," Makena muttered.Β
"You just turned 25, calm down. That does not make you grown enough," Nat said and Makena mocked her under her breath like a child mocks their parents.
Walking in, Makena went opposite ways and seen Tony do something in the conference room. Makena walked in and sat down, tossing her suitcase on the table. "Natasha told me you were working on something. Can I check it out?" Tony asked, pausing what he was doing.
"It's not really finished but sure," Makena mumbled. She opened up the suitcase and the hologram showed up. She worked with technology since she was 14 so she knew a lot about how things worked and Shuri did teach her a lot as well. Shuri had to teach her to use it for good and not to completely rob or kill people. Unfortunately those lessons didn't exactly rub off on her considering not only a few days ago she was committing a crime.
Tony blinked in surprise, it was the exact same model he himself had done. It took him five years to make the time travel machine. "It's the exact same thing as mine," Tony mumbled, a bit taken back. Turning it around and checking it out, it was finished unlike what Makena said and it was like an exact copy of Tony's.
"What? Nah, you're messin' with me," Makena said, her eyebrow raised slightly in confusion.
Tony shook his head seriously and Makena sat you straighter, curious about what he meant. "How long did this take you?"
"About five months, why?"
"Five months? Mine took five years," Tony stuttered out in shock.
Makena raised her brows watching as Tony pulled up his model and it was the same exact thing as Makena's. "This is so weird dude," Makena mumbled.
"Yeah, tell me about it. Is it okay if I hold onto yours?" Tony asked. Makena shrugged carelessly, "Have it, I don't really need it."
Tony nodded and shut the suitcase before going to leave the room but paused and turned around to look at Makena. "Happy Birthday, by the way. I would've gotten you something but ya know, we're not really that close." He awkwardly said.
"Nah, it's good. I don't celebrate it anyways. Thank you though," Makena shrugged. Tony nodded and walked out, leaving Makena to her thoughts.
As Makena was dazed off, a small-ish box was dropped on the table and Makena snapped out of her daze. "I know you told me you didn't want anything but I couldn't help it." Rocket said, standing on the table and Makena chuckled.
"If it's a mouse trap I'm gonna rip your fur off," Makena threatened playfully but seriously, referring to last year when Rocket but mouse traps in the box and snapped Makena's fingers.
"Don't worry, it's not. I learned my lesson last year," Rocket muttered, cringing slightly from the memory. Makena chuckled at the memory when she had thrown Rocket off the building and caught him as the very last second before he could hit the ground and go splatty.
Makena cracked a small smile as she opened the box. Makena smiled to herself as she pulled out a purple pocket knife. The exact pocket know she had seen in one of her dad's books. It had special powers and it wasn't from Earth but some unknown planet. It had the power to turn into any weapon you wished for it to be. She rambled to Rocket about it all the time but he pretended like her didn't care or wasn't paying attention. Maybe he was paying attention after all.
Makena smiled seeing her name carved into the wooden handle. "Turn it over," Rocket said.
Makena did as told and turned it over, frowning in confusion when she seen the initials "M + S" carved onto the handle. "What's the S, stand for?" Makena asked, her brows knitted in slight confusion.
"Shuri."
Makena took a breath and nodded slowly, "Thanks Rocket."
Rocket nodded and patted Makena's head. "Oh yeah, one thing you should know about it. It only works for the names carved on it, which means it works for you and it'll work for her. When she comes back of course." Rocket explained.
Makena looked at the knife as Rocket walked out. Now she was hoping more than anything that they could bring everyone back. That Makena could get her Shuri back.

Rhodey and Makena walked into the room where Bruce, Scott and Nebula were getting the time travel suit prepared. "Time travel suit, notbad," Rhodey complimented.
Makena sat down and played with the purple knife in her hand, trying to distract herself from thinking about Shuri and the drug that she still had a bag of. Nat and Clint had thrown away what they seen but Makena still had a small bag of it in her backpack.
"Hey, hey, hey! Easy! Easy!" Scott exclaimed.
"I'm being very careful," Bruce replied. Oh yeah and Makena had found out that he was now mixed up with Hulk and Bruce, aka Smart Hulk now.
"No, you're being very Hulky."
"I'm being careful," Bruce argued.
"These are Pym Particles, all right? And every since Hank Pym got snapped out of existence, this is it. This is what he have. We're not making any more," Scott exclaimed.
"Scott, calm down." Rhodey added.
"Sorry. We've got enough for one round-trip each. That's it. No do-overs. Plus two test runs." As Scott went to put the thing of particles in the suit Makena reached out and grabbed his hand before he could press the button to accidentally use the particles.
"Yeah, I dont think you're the right person for this," Makena mumbled. She took the particles from him and handed them over to Bruce before they could go to waste.
"She's right. I'm not ready for this," Scott nodded.
"I'm game," A voice spoke up, Makena turned to see Clint leaning on the door frame. She pursed her lips, not aware he was standing there nor that he had a tattoo sleeve on his left arm. "I'll do it," Clint said.
"Since we got two test runs, I'll do it to," Makena shrugged. Nebula nodded, "Yeah I would feel better if you did it," she agreed.
Makena and Clint were now both in the suits, one of them perfectly designed for Makena's body type, courtesy of Nebula. "Clint, Makena, now you're gonna feel a little discombobulated from the chronoshift. Don't worry about that." Makena and Clint both nodded understandingly in reply.
"Wait a second. Let me ask you something. If we can do this, you know, go back in time, why not just find baby Thanos? You know, and..." Rhodey used his hands to mimic strangling a baby Thanos and Makena had to contain her chuckle.
"First of all, that's horrible," Bruce pointed out.
"It's Thanos," Rhodey concluded.
"And secondly, time doesn't work that way. Changing the past doesn't change the future," Bruce stated.
"Look, we go back, we get the stones before Thanos gets them. Thanos doesn't have the stones. Problem solved." Scott added. "Bingo," Clint agreed.
Makena shook her head feeling like she was surrounded by a bunch of idiots. "That's not how it works," Nebula said and Makena gestured to her in agreement.
"Well that's what I heard." Clint added.
"Wait, by who? Who told you that?" Bruce asked Clint frustratingly.
"Star Trek, Terminator, Timecop, Time After Time," Rhodey named movies and Makena face-palmed.
"Quantum Leap," Scott added.
"Wrinkle in Time. Somewhere in Time."
"Hot Tub Time Machine."
"Hot Tub Time Machine. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Basically, any movie that deals with time travel. This is known," Rhodey finished.
"So you're gonna believe movies that are based on people's imaginations? Wow, and I thought you guys couldn't get any more stupid," Makena mumbled, shaking her head in disappointment.
"I don't know why everyone believes that, but that isn't true. Think about it. If you travel to the past, that past becomes your future, and your former present becomes the past, which can't now be changed by your new future." Bruce explained, dumbing it down for them and Makena laughed in her head.
"Exactly," Nebula stated.
"So Back to the Future is a bunch of bullshit?"

Before Makena went to step on the time travel machine, Tony had built, with the help of Rocket, she walked over to Tony and Bruce. "Hey um, can you send me to February 14th, seven years ago?" Makena requested.
"Yeah of course, but you can't talk to her," Tony said. Makena nodded understandingly and Tony put the time watch on her, Clint wearing a similar one. "I'm gonna give you three minutes, okay?" Tony said.
Makena nodded gratefully before stepping onto the platform. "Alright, Clint, Kena. We're going in three, two, one." Their helmets went on and they were both sucked into the time machine. Both going different ways and Makena went farther than Clint.
Makena groaned as she landed on her feet, but inside of her closet. Makena slowly pushed open the blinds and looked through the little slit. She watched in complete disbelief as she seen Shuri enter the room and her past self sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Okoye said you asked for me," Shuri spoke, sitting down beside Makena, her hands in her lap.
"Yeah, I wanted to tell you something," Makena mumbled, standing up and walking over to the balcony with Shuri following her.
"Tell me what?"
"I'm leaving," Makena blurted out.
"Leaving? What do you mean leaving? Like to go visit somewhere?" Shuri questioned in confusion.
"No, I mean like I'm leaving Wakanda. And I don't think I'm gonna come back."
"So, you're leaving me? Why? Did I do something? Tell me what I did," Shuri begged, taking Makena's hands in her own, holding tears that threatened to fall.
"You didn't do anything, this is my choice. I need to leave. I want to leave." Makena said, but her voice wasn't super convincing.
"Give me one good reason why I should let you go," Shuri demanded, not even sad but more furious about the conversation.
"Because..."
"Exactly! You don't have any good reason to go! This is a horrible idea!" Shuri argued. Makena sighed in frustration and pulled her hands out of Shuri's, "I need some air. And when I come back, I hope you understand," Makena said.
Makena watched as her past self exited the room and Shuri leaned on the balcony, choking on a sob.
Makena wiped her tears and took a deep breath, as she went to click the button to send her back early, she accidentally knocked over one of the guns in the closet. "Shit," Makena cursed under her breath.
"Who's there?" Makena heard Shuri asked, taking steps towards the closet. Shuri grabbed Makena's gun on the bedside table and pulled open the closet. "Makena? You just left...and what are you wearing?" Shuri lowered the gun in confusion.
Shuri noticed the few locs in Makena's hair and shook her head, this definitely wasn't her Makena. "Makena doesn't have locs...who are you?" Shuri raised the gun, backing up slightly.
Makena looked at the time watch, noticing she had only few seconds left. "If I could go back change what just happened I would. Go easy on her, okay?" Shuri frowned in confusion and Makena vanished.
Everyone waited nervously, not seeing Makena back yet and it made them nervous. "Maybe she pulled the watch off-" Bruce suggested.
Before anyone could respond to that, Makena appeared, on her knees trying to catch her breath from the suddenly regrowth of her body. Natasha was the first one to run over and kneel down next to her. "Breathe, you're okay," Nat comforted.
Makena took a deep breath and leaned her head on Natasha, "It worked. It works." Natasha nodded, running her hand over Makena's hair and pressing a kiss to her head. "You're okay, you're okay." Nat said, knowing Makena saw Shuri.
"Okay, so the how works. Now, we gotta figure out the when and the where. Almost everyone in this room has has an encounter with at least one of the six Infinity Stones." Steve announced. They were now all in the conference room, discussing the plan to get the Infinity Stones and bring everyone back. For the first time in five years, Makena finally had some hope.
"Or substitute the word 'encounter' for 'damn near been killed' by one of the six Infinity Stones," Tony corrected.
"Well, I haven't but I don't even know what the hell you're all talking about," Scott imput.
"Regardless, we only have enough Pym Particles for one round-trip each. And these stones have been in a lot of different places throughout history."
"Our history. So, not a lot of convenient spots to just drop in, yeah?" Tony said.
"Which means we have to pick our targets," Clint added.
"Correct."
"So, let's start with the Aether. Thor, what do you know?" Steve asked. Everyone looked over to Thor who appeared to be sleeping but he was probably just drunk and dozed off. Makena felt extremely bad for him. He lost a lot and she understood, and drinking was obviously his coping mechanism. It wasn't a good one but it was still there. She wanted to help him but she just didn't know how.
Makena dozed off as Thor had begun to tell some story about Jane, the Aether and just not get to any point they were looking for. Scott seemed to be super invested into the story though. Once they moved on from Thor's little story, Rocket was telling everyone about his encounter with the Power Stone whilst everyone was eating the Chinese takeout Tony ordered.
"Quill said he stole the Power Stone from Morag."
"Is that a person?" Bruce asked.
"No, Morag's a planet. Quill was a person."
"Like a planet? Like in outer space?" Scott asked, genuinely curious.
"Oh, look. It's like a little puppy, all happy and everything. Do you wanna go to space? You wanna go to space, puppy? I'll take you to space." Rocket teased, petting Scott's hair like he was a dog.
"Alright, give him a break, he's new to this," Makena defended, remembering when she was knew to the whole thing.
They next morning they were all gathered in the room, taking notes and such as Nebula discussed the Soul Stone.
"Thanos found the Soul Stone on Vormir."
"What's Vormir?" Makena asked, popping a veggie stick in her mouth.
"A dominion of death...at the very center of celestial existence. It's where Thanos murdered my sister."
Makena glanced to her right at Natasha who had paused her note taking, hearing Nebula's explanation. It was almost like Nat knew something they didn't.
"Not it," Scott mumbled. Makena shook her head gently and patted his shoulder, "Yeah, not the right timing dude."
Makena sat by the window as Nat and Tony were laying on the table full of books and Bruce on the floor next to the table. They were all discussing the Time Stone.
"That Time Stone guy."
"Doctor Strange "
"Yeah, what kind of doctor was he?" Nat asked.
"Ear-nose-throat meets rabbit-from-hat." Tony imput.
"Surgeon, I'm pretty sure. When I got shot a few years back he was the one to do surgery on me." Makena spoke up, recalling the old unfortunate memory.
"Nice place in the Village, though."
"Yeah, on Sullivan Street?" Tony questioned Bruce.
"Mm...Bleecker Street."
"Wait, he lived in New York?" Nat asked.
"No, he lived in Toronto..."
"Uh yeah, on Bleecker and Sullivan," Bruce argued.
"Have you been listening to anything?"
"Guys. If you pick the right year, there are three stones in New York," Nat pointed out.
"Shut the front door."
Makena sat next to Thor, leaning her head on his shoulder as Steve had finished explaining where each stone would be. Everyone was now gathered back in the conference room, looking at the three files of where each stone would be. The Space, Mind, and Time Stone would be in New York. The Reality Stone would be in Asgard. And the Power, and Soul Stone would be in Morag / Vormir.
"All right. We have a plan. Six stones, three teams, one shot."
