Makena rubbed her eyes as she removed the duvet covering her body. "Woah, be careful, you're still not fully healed." Shuri warned, sitting up in the bed and setting her book on the nightstand. "I thought I died again," Makena mumbled as she laid back down, wincing at the pain from her stomach.

"No, you just lost consciousness. I was able to get the remainder of the vibranium out of your system, you didn't get all of it therefore why you lost consciousness. It's still late so you should get some rest," Shuri said.

"Mhm. I'm guessing I'm in your room?" Makena said. Shuri pursed her lips awkwardly, "Uh, how'd you know?"

"All the technology and gadgets everywhere. You sleeping next to me kinda gave it away," Makena chuckled softly. "I just wanted to make sure you would be okay." Shuri defended.

"Uh huh, totally. So, uh not to make this awkward but who changed my clothes?" Makena asked lowly.

"Oh it wasn't me, don't worry. Nakia did, we knew you'd be uncomfortable with anyone else so Nakia was the only other choice," Shuri explained. Makena hummed and pulled herself up right. "Where's Erik?"

Shuri looked down in sadness, not for Erik but for Makena. It was clear she truly cared for Erik. Makena sighed, the silence already told her what she wanted to know. "I need to go," Makena stood up and grabbed her grey cardigan on the hook.

Shuri stood up, "Why? Where are you going?"

"I just need some air. I'll be back tomorrow," Makena mumbled. She grabbed her shoes and slid them on before going to walk out but Shuri grabbed her wrist. "Can I come with you? Please."

Makena let out a breath before finally agreeing and Shuri smiled. "We can't let the Dora see us though or they'll tell my mother we left," Shuri said. Makena nodded and walked over to Shuri's balcony. "Do you trust me?" Makena asked.

Shuri pursed her lips in thought, "Considering you took a spear for me then yeah, I trust you." Makena smiled softy and grabbed Shuri's hand before jumping onto the edge of the balcony. "Are you sure this okay to do when you're not at your full strength?" Shuri asked as Makena signaled her to jump onto her back and Shuri did as told.

"Uhm, I don't know but I feel pretty good about it," Makena shrugged. Shuri's eyes widened and she held on tighter as Makena jumped off the balcony and onto another one, doing it each time until she finally jumped down to the ground.

"You're insane. We could've died!" Shuri whisper shouted as they jogged off into the forest. "But we didn't! Come on, losen up a bit, Princess!" Makena smiled as she ran a but faster so she had to pause so Shuri could catch up. "You're a slow runner. Come on, get on my back," Makena said.

Shuri groaned dramatically, "Ugh this is so embarrassing. I hate this." Makena chuckled and began to run off with Shuri latched onto her back. "Hey I wasn't the one who begged you to come with me," Makena spoke and Shuri flicked Makena's head with a small scoff.  "Only because I can't trust you by yourself just yet."

Makena finally stopped, letting Shuri jump off and raise her brows when they were right in front of Kenni's house. "Why would you need to go to Kenni's house?" Shuri asked as they walked in.

"Because my dad has a ton of books to help me with my telekinesis. If I want to be good at it then I need to practice." Makena said, shutting the door and walking to the library.

"Well then I'm glad to help," Shuri said, putting her arm around Makena's shoulder.

"So was my dad actually dating M'Baku? Or was he just messing with me?" Makena asked as they both began to search through the books.

"Oh no they were together, it was blantly obvious. Well to me. Nobody outside of me and T'Challa knew about it, well besides the Jabari. They were really perfect for each other," Shuri smiled. She knew telling Kenni about her sexuality first was the right move because Kenni never judged anyone on their physical appearance or sexualities. Or really anything. It was one of his best traits.

"So how's M'Baku?" Makena hummed.

"He's good, he wasn't the happiest person when he seen your state but when your vitals went back to normal he calmed down. He was planning to come by and check on you tomorrow."

"Yeah, that's good. I wanted to talk to him anyways."

"About?"

"Just things..."

Shuri raised a suspicious brow and Makena chuckled. "If I told you then trust me, you would probably hate me," Makena mused.

"How could I hate you? You risked your life to save my own, without even knowing me for more than three days. I could never hate you."

"Well, we'll see when the time comes."

"I found the book!"

Makena smiled as she ran around the young boy and got the basketball in the hoop. "Yeah! We won!" The other boy cheered, him being on the same side with Makena.

"Good game, good game," Makena leaned down to high five each little boy and grinned. "Another go?"

"Maybe later. I gotta deal with some business," Makena smiled and gave him a small handshake before jogging back over to T'Challa and Shuri.

"When you said you would take me to California for the first time, I thought you meant Coachella, or Disneyland. Why here?" Shuri questioned her brother. Makena smiled to herself, she knew exactly what this place was. Erik took her to it quite a few times. It was where he was raised. Also where his father was killed.

"This is where our father killed our uncle," T'Challa said, leaning against the metal fence.

"They're tearing it down. Good." Shuri said.

"They are not tearing it down. I bought this building. And that building. And that one over there," T'Challa gestured to the two buildings on the left and right. "This will be the first Wakandan International Outreach Center. Nakia will oversee the social outreach. And you will spearhead the science and information exchange." T'Challa explained.

"You're kidding." Shuri chuckled softly.

"Eh?" T'Challa pressed onto one of his Kimoyo Beads and they turned to see one of their very own Wakandan aircrafts hover over the court.

"Hey yo. Man, what the hell is that?" They heard one of the kids say. "That's like a Bugatti spaceship!" Makena chuckled at the kids description and leaned on the fence.

All the kids ran over to the aircraft except for one of them who looked at Shuri and T'Challa. They had done their handshake before Shuri ran over to the aircraft as the kids discussed things about it. "Hey yo! This yours?" Makena glanced at T'Challa who smiled softly at the child.

"Who...Who are you?"

Makena sat at the bench near the big pond as three boys ran out of the hunt the Bucky Barnes was staying in. "Are you playing around with that man again?" Shuri chuckled at the boys.

"No."

"You're teasing him again. Don't wake him. He must rest." Shuri scolded playfully.

Makena glanced over her shoulder seeing Bucky walk over to Shuri. The kids always called him White Wolf from what Makena was told and heard.

"Good morning, Sergeant Barnes," Shuri greeted.

"Bucky," He said.

She nodded softly and smiled. "How are you feeling?"

"Good. Thank you."

Shuri smiled, "Come. Much more for you to learn. And I want you to meet someone."

Shuri walked over to Makena and Bucky made his way over. Makena turned around and Bucky furrowed his brows. "You're that girl that came to Hydra for powers. I thought they killed you. How have you been?" Bucky asked with a small smile. He had always wondered what happened to her.

"I'm doing good. It's good to see you out," Makena said. "I could say the same for you," he smiled.

"Oh yeah, you don't know my name. I'm Makena, it's nice to properly meet you," Makena stuck out her hand and he took it and shook it gently.

"Bucky. It's nice to meet you too."

Shuri grinned, "Alright, you two can chat all about your experiences later. My brother wants to speak with you."

Shuri wrapped her arm around Makena as they walked up the hill and Bucky followed. "So are you two like girlfriends?" He asked.

"What? No!" They both denied in unison.

"Okay, calm down. Just a question."

"It's a stupid one," Makena mumbled.
