Makena ran over to the secret wall to the garden of herbs where she noticed another woman already there. Makena pulled out her gun and the woman immediately turned around hearing the gun cock and put her hands up. "Who the hell are you?" Makena asked.
"I am Nakia. Who are you?" Nakia furrowed her brows as Makena had lowered her gun.
"I'm Makena. My dad told me about you. You're like T'Challa's ex girlfriend right?" Makena questioned.
"Uh yes, that's me. May I ask how you know about this place? And who your father is?"
"My dad is Kenni, uhm Zuri's brother. He told me about this place," Makena explained.
"I didn't know Kenni had a daughter. You must be the girl who just escaped Shuri's lab?" Nakia asked. Nakia saw Kenni as a second father so she didn't know why Kenni had never mentioned a daughter but Kenni always had his secrets.
"Yeah, man yall for real got bad security because I just slipped outta there without a glance back," Makena shrugged.
"Yeah you're definitely his daughter," Nakia mused and Makena smiled. "I'm guessing you went to the ancestral plane after you stabbed yourself?" Makena nodded and Nakia hummed and gestured Makena to kneel down.
"The only way I know you're telling the truth is if you know how to open this door," Nakia mumbled and Makena raised a brow. Nakia shrugged and Makena sighed and took a Kimoyo Bead she stole from her pocket and scanned the door. The small door opened and Makena looked at Nakia.
"You just had me do that because you don't have beads right?" Nakia smiled innocently and Makena shook her head amusingly.
"Wait here, I'll grab the herb. If he sees me he'll go easy on me," Makena mumbled before jumping down inside the tunnel.
Makena walked down the tunnel and finally made it to the garden. Makena looked on as Killmonger was talking to a woman in blue who was explaining what the Herb was for. "Yeah, go ahead and burn that."
"My King, we cannot do that it is our tradition-" before she could finish Killmonger grabbed her throat and lifted her up, choking her, clearly his new powers giving him that strength. "When I tell you to do something, I mean that shit." He dropped her and looked to the others, "Burn it all!"
Makena could see the people begin to start burning it and jumped down and grabbed the heart shaped herb from the plant before rushing back into the tunnel before Killmonger could see her.
Makena stepped out of the pathway and Nakia shut the door. "I'm assuming you know what my plan is?" Makena asked.
"Yes, it's the same plan your father told me to do if anyone was try and rule Wakanda the wrong way," Nakia replied as they took off away from the garden.

Makena followed Nakia through the forest, pulling her jacket closer to her from the coldness of the night. "Do not pull out your gun or they will see you as a treat," Nakia warned and Makena rolled her eyes and nodded. "Whatever you say girl."
Nakia moved the branch in their way and Makena walked ahead. They turned the corner and were met with the queen and princess, and the white guy that Makena had thrown over a table in the lab. "Queen, Princess. This is Makena, the girl is here to help us," Nakia said and Makena gave them a nod.
Ross furrowed his brows at Makena, "Yeah how do we know we can trust her exactly? She threw me over a table."
"Not to agree with him, but I agree. Why are we trusting her? She's friends with Killmonger," Shuri pointed out, Ramonda agreeing with her daughter.
"Ya know for someone who doesn't trust me you sure went out of your way to try and save my life," Makena shot back, a little offended but somewhat understood.
Shuri glared at Makena but Makena only smirked teasingly and Ramonda nudged Shuri. "Enough."
"To my defense, when I tried to kill myself I uhm saw my dad. And look, I'm not here for you, frankly I don't really care about you either. But I owe Wakanda my life so that's why helping you," Makena spoke.
"If we can trust you, tell me something only Kenni knows about me," Shuri asked, Ramonda raised an eyebrow at her daughter and Shuri shrugged. She was really close with Kenni before he died so he knew a lot about Shuri.
"You sure you want me to say it out loud in front of your mother?" Makena mused, her dad knew Shuri would be suspicious so he told Makena something that only he knew about Shuri.
Shuri squinted her eyes and gestured Makena over to whisper it in her ear. Makena stepped forward and put her mouth close to Shuri's ear, causing Shuri to shiver slightly from her breathing. "You told him you were lesbian the night of your thirteenth birthday party. He was bisexual so you knew he'd accept you," Makena whispered.
Shuri's eyes widened, it was true but she didn't think Kenni would actually tell her that, to tell anyone that. "Don't worry I'm also lesbian so you ain't gotta worry about me knowing," Makena said. She didn't know what drove her to tell someone she barely knew one of her biggest secrets but she could sense how worried Shuri was about Makena knowing.
Makena walked back over to Nakia who was watching the little interaction in curiosity. "Yep, she's trustworthy." Shuri spoke, ลamonda wanted to know why Shuri changed her mind so fast but she trusted her daughter's word.
"Okay well, now that we know she's trustworthy. What do we do now?" Ross asked.
Makena opened her jacket and pulled out the Heart-Shaped Herb. "My dad told me that I have to get this to a guy named M'Baku. Apparently he's the only one who can rightfully challenge for the throne and maybe he can help over throw N'Jadaka." Makena said, putting it back in her pocket and zipping her jacket back up.
Makena backed up and leaned on a tree as Nakia discussed more of the plan with Shuri and Ramonda. It took them a minute but they were finally on board with the plan. "Okay. We need somewhere to sleep overnight," Ramonda spoke.
"I know a place," Makena spoke up and they looked at her. "Where?" Shuri asked.
"My dad's old place. He told me where it would be if I needed anywhere to stay. It's not too far from here," Makena explained. Nakia nodded, "Okay let's hurry."
As they finally arrived to Kenni's old place, Shuri and Ramonda took what was supposed to be Makena's bedroom when Kenni planned to bring her home. Ross took what was supposed to be Zach's room and Nakia took the guest bedroom. Makena decided to sleep on the sofa as she didn't want to sleep in what was Kenni's bedroom. It would bring way too many emotions for her to deal with.
Makena closed her eyes with a soft sigh as she had been leaning on the window to look at the stars in the night sky. But suddenly she could hear footsteps and grabbed her gun, immediately she turned around and pointed it at the person. They stepped into the natural light and raised their hands with wide eyes. "Bast, do you always point a gun at something whenever you hear a noise?" Shuri said.
Makena sighed and set her gun back on the coffee table. She turned back to the window as Shuri walked up to stand next to her. "I've been on the run for a long time so I'm always on guard. My bad," Makena mumbled apologetically. "It's okay. I would probably do the same if I've been on the run all my life."
"So, does your family know? Like, your sexuality?" Makena asked, a bit curious if maybe Shuri's family was accepting. And maybe she just wanted to know more about the princess.
"Uh no, my mother doesn't know. My father didn't know either, he was the one always trying to find me a nice Wakandan boyfriend. And I told T'Challa when I turned fifteen. He was very accepting of it. Have you told anyone? Besides me." Shuri said, glancing at Makena who had her eyes softy on the stars.
"Nah, the only alive people to know are Erik and you. I never got to tell my brother because he was killed. My dad knows because if he didn't then he wouldn't have told me your secret. And sorry that he told me, it wasn't really his place," Makena mumbled.
"No, it's alright. I trust him, and he obviously had good intentions. I know he wouldn't tell anyone unless necessary. And I'm sorry about your brother," Shuri looked back at the stars and Makena could see Shuri was clearly thinking of her own brother.
"Sorry about yours. I know what it's like to lose family, shit sucks. At least there's a chance to get your revenge. I sure as hell got mine. Maybe you can get yours," Makena shrugged.
Shuri looked at Makena and shook her head, "I don't think getting revenge can truly ever make it better. It just drives you into a vengeful state which only drives you to murder. I don't want to kill anyone. Revenge is only good if you do it the right way."
Makena glanced at Shuri and smiled to herself. "Don't you ever get tired of being so...moral?" Shuri chuckled and shook her head, "It was what my brother would want me to do. It is only right to live up to his legacy."
"Yeah but you can't be livin for what someone else would want. You gotta live for yourself. You gotta make your own decisions whether it's right or wrong. But shit, you ain't gotta listen to me because I ain't got a single selfless bone in this body. When someone hurts someone I love, that's the end of what they call life," Makena said.
Shuri looked down and Makena glanced at her hands, so much blood was shed to get revenge for her brother but she still blamed herself. "Yes you do. You are being selfless right as we speak. You could be ruling Wakanda by N'Jadaka's side and instead you are helping to overthrow him. That is a selfless act, not a selfish one. You are a good person if you like it or not."
Makena went to argue on that but Shuri raised her finger over Makena's lips. "Do not argue, you know I'm right."
"Alright princess, I'll let you have that one," Makena shrugged and Shuri smiled.
"So what are you doing up?" Shuri asked.
"I could ask you the same princess."
"I noticed the lamp on and came to check on you. You still haven't told me why you chose to stab yourself," Shuri raised his brows.
"And you still haven't told me why you chose to try and save me," Makena shot back and Shuri scoffed. "No no no, I asked first. You answer."
"You know you're lucky you're pretty or I would've killed you already," Makena mumbled. Shuri scoffed and hit Makena's arm, "That's rude. We both know the only reason you haven't tried to kill me already is because you like me." She teased.
"Oh is that so, princess?" Makena crossed her arms with her brows raised and Shuri copied her movements and nodded with a smirk. Shuri glanced down at Makena's lips and looked back up noticing Makena had just done the exact same thing.
"What is going on here?" Nakia interrupted, looking between the two with her arms crossed and brows raised.
Makena backed away and walked back over to the sofa. "Nothing. Just having a chat. Why are you up?" Makena said and Shuri walked over to Nakia who was still looking between the two with squinted eyes of suspicion.
"I heard talking so I got curious."
"Ah you're still a little suspicious aren't you? It's alright I get it, I'm not the most trustworthy person. But I'm not dumb enough to tell my plan to someone in the same house as the people I would be turning on. So, you don't have much to worry about. Goodnight now." Makena sat down with a small smirk of amusement on her face. She loved when people would assume such amateur moves from her.
"Goodnight. Come on Shuri," Nakia walked up the stairs and Shuri gave a small smile to Makena who waved her fingers, before walking up the stairs. Makena smirked to herself and shook her head before pulling the covers over her body and laying down. Makena closed her eyes, spending her entire sleep dreaming about a specific girl she may or may not have been taking a liking to.
It was gonna drive her crazy.
