Makena's eyes opened slowly as she heard something in her coms.

"Hey, Cap, you read me?" Makena recognized the voice to be Sam's.

She sighed in relief, realizing it worked, they brought everyone back.

"Cap, it's Sam. Can you hear me?"

"On your left."

Steve turned to his left and seen a sparkling gold portal. Out of the portal walked, General Okoye, King T'Challa, and Princess Shuri. Steve smiled in relief and T'Challa gave a nod back to him. Sam flew out of the portal, and Steve smiled, happy to see his friend again.

Makena pulled herself to her feet and looked around in shock as several portals began to open. Doctor Strange, Mantis, Drax, Peter Quill and Spider-Man all came from one portal. Makena smiled seeing T'Challa and the rest of their Wakandan army chant in Xhosa.

Another portal came from New Asgard. Valkyrie was on a Pegasus from what it appeared, Korg was next to her and more Asgardians joined them. Wanda Maximoff also landing in front of them.

More people who must've all been just like Doctor Strange, joined the fight, getting into their fighting positions. Makena also noticed a woman who must've been just like Scott. Then she noticed Pepper, land in the suit Tony had built just for her.

"Is that everyone?" Strange asked Wong.

"What? You wanted more?" He deadpanned.

There was a loud and heavy movement and they glanced over to the destroyed compound seeing Scott, triple his size, emerge from the rubble. He opened his hand and Bruce jumped off. Rhodey flew off and Rocket jumped on his shoulder, cocking his gun with a smirk.

Makena landed next to Spider-Man and pulled out her back up spear that actually shot out blasts made of vibranium energy.

"Avengers!" Steve shouted, and Mjölnir landed into his hand.

"Assemble."

Everyone charged forward with the intent to fight for their homes and to end the war once and for all.

Makena ran, rising from the ground and landing on Valkyrie's Pegasus and she and Valkyrie both sliced open one of the flying Leviathans. "You see lover girl yet?!" Valkyrie asked, shouting over all the noise.

"We're in the middle of war and your seriously asking me that?!" Makena deadpanned. Valkyrie shrugged, "Never answered the question."

Makena rolled her eyes and jumped off the Pegasus before landing back on the ground. She noticed Pepper and Tony teaming together like a power couple. Makena landed in front of M'Baku and they fought side by side.

Thor and Steve had both switched hammers and Thor shook his head, "No, no, give me that. You have the little one." Thor tossed Mjölnir back to Steve in exchange for Stormbreaker.

Makena flew back up and pulled out her gun, shooting down the three alien dudes coming for Groot. Makena glanced around, shoving her gun back into its holster. That's when she noticed someone coming at Shuri who was completely oblivious to it.

Makena landed in front of Shuri and quickly pulled Shuri behind her. The alien stabbing Makena with his sword and she cursed under her breath before using her spear to decapitate him. Makena pulled the sword out of her and tossed it to the side, luckily it wasn't vibranium or she'd probably die.

Makena turned around to look at Shuri and brought her hand up to her cheek. "Oh thank god you're real."

"You look...like crap," Shuri chuckled, and Makena scoffed. "Wow, thank you." She replied sarcastically.

They both looked at each other a bit awkwardly from the obvious tension. Makena could just hear Natasha screaming at her to kiss Shuri already. Kiss her dumbass! Makena sighed, knowing Nat would've teased her about this forever.

Shuri looked down awkwardly and Makena cursed under her break. "Oh screw it."

Makena cupped Shuri's jaw and pressed their lips together into a way more passionate kiss than she was used to. Shuri smiled as she kissed Makena back.
They both pulled away for breath and before Makena could say anything, Shuri grabbed Makena's gun from her holster and shot down the two aliens behind Makena.

"Woah," Makena mumbled, looking back at Shuri was an impressed look. "Now are we even?" Shuri smiled, putting Makena's gun back in the holster.

"Well, technically I saved your life three times and you saved mine once...so..." Shuri hit Makena's shoulder with a scoff. "Can you please not be so cocky for like five minutes?"

"Yo ladies! A little help here!" Rocket shouted, and Shuri and Makena both shot down the men coming at Rocket.

"Thank you! Now can you please finish this up later! I've gave you as much time as I could!" Rocket exclaimed, his arms flailing around in dramatic motion.

Makena nodded and looked at Shuri, "Is that a talking raccoon?" She asked in confusion.

"I would refrain from calling him that, he gets offended easily. But, I will see you later," Makena said. She kissed Shuri's cheek before flying off and landing next to Wanda.

"Make sure Thanos doesn't get the stones! Kill him if you have to!" Makena told Wanda as she fought off the alien men.

"You don't have to tell me twice," Wanda said in a deadly tone. She wanted to make Thanos pay for killing Vision, and she was going to.

Makena watched, continuing to fight as she seen Wanda land in front of Thanos. "You took everything from me," Wanda spoke, her eyes glowing a vicious ruby red.

"I don't even know who you are."

"You will."

Makena watched as Wanda fought Thanos one on one, unsurprisingly winning. Unfortunately Thanos was forced to call for the ships to rain fire just to get Wanda off.

Makena landed on the ground and ran over to Shuri, guarding her but soon enough Wong and the others put shields up to protect them. There was even more shots from the ship until they suddenly stopped. Makena looked up in confusion, curious as the why they stopped shooting.

But then they began to fire shots into the sky for an unknown reason. "What the hell?" Makena mumbled.

Makena watched and a grin appeared on her face seeing Carol come from the sky, completely blowing up Thanos's ship. The ship landed into the water and there was a look of fear across Thanos's face. Almost a look of defeat.

"I don't know how you're gonna get through all of that," Peter said to Carol. Wanda landed next to Carol, "Don't worry."

Makena landed on the other side of Carol, "She's got help." Valkyrie landed and Okoye and Shuri all came up in front. Pepper landed, her helmet coming off and Mantis joined Makena's side. Hope, Gamora and Nebula joined in the front as they all walked toward the army coming towards them.

"Took you long enough, Captain," Makena smirked, bumping her fist with Carol's.

"Had to save your butt," Carol shot back.

"Oh yeah, totally." Makena rolled her eyes playfully.

Carol flew forward as the women ran forward. Makena flew up as Wanda used her powers to hold the Leviathans. Makena used her spear to cut them down their body as Valkyrie did the same to the other one. Makena landed next to Shuri, throwing her hand out and tossing two guys to Okoye who impaled both of them with her spear.

Shuri grabbed Makena's gun and shot down more of the men. "Oh not this bitch again," Makena spat out, looking at the same blue bitch that Wanda killed five years ago in Wakanda. "You just can't stay dead, can you?"

The lady charged forward and stabbed her knife into Makena's shoulder. Makena looked at her unfazed and grabbed her spear shoving it into the woman. Shuri tossed Makena the gun and Makena turned it into lifesaber before slicing the lady's head clean off. "What is with you decapitating everybody?" Shuri blinked in shock.

"Gotta make sure they're dead," Makena shrugged. She pulled out the knife and felt herself healing already. Makena looked on and noticed Carol having the upper hand against Thanos until he was forced to pull off the power stone just to blast her away.

"He can't beat them so he continues to find a way out," Makena scoffed. Carol and Wanda could've killed him by now but he kept finding a way out. A way to get one up on them.

Tony ran forward to pull off the glove as Thanos placed the power stone back on the glove. Thanos shoved him off and Makena's eyes widened as Thanos raised his hand, "I am inevitable." The metal clanged together as Thanos snapped his fingers. Though nothing appeared to happen and Thanos looked at the glove, and the stones were no longer there.

Makena's eyes widened in shock even more seeing Tony his knees and the Infinity Stones on his glove. She furrowed her brows in confusion not sure how they weren't killing him immediately.

"And I...am...Iron Man." Tony snapped his fingers.

Makena sighed, watching as T'Challa, Shuri and Ramonda were on the balcony looking over Wakanda. Doctor Strange had let her use a portal to get there faster as she had stayed in at the compound to make sure everyone was okay. And she got held up when Rocket was introducing her to the rest of the Guardians.

Makena walked out of the room and ran a hand through her tangled hair. She was really considering getting rid of some of the locs now. "Makena!" Shuri ran over, catching up Makena who turned to look at her.

"I should go, you need to stay with your mother. She went five years without you," Makena said, scratching her head.

"So did you." Shuri pointed out.

Makena sighed, "Uhm, can I borrow your shower?" Makena scratched the back of her neck awkwardly.

"Of course. Come." Makena followed as Shuri led her to her bedroom.

Half an hour later, Makena walked out of the bathroom, a white tank top on with some grey sweatpants that she had left in Shuri's room when she stayed over. Makena raised her brows slightly noticing Shuri holding Makena's pocket knife.

"So, this little thing turned into a lifesaber?" Shuri questioned.

"Mhm. Rocket gave it to me as a birthday gift, it only works for me and you though," Makena mumbled, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Why does it work for me?" Shuri asked, setting it down on the dresser. "Because Rocket got our initials engraved on it." Shuri nodded, somewhat understanding but she still had a lot of questions.

"You said as a birthday gift...how old are you now?" Shuri asked. It really looked like Makena hadn't aged at all. The only think that really changed was her hair and her muscles getting a bit bigger.

"Well about a week ago, I turned 25."

"Oh you're old!" Shuri joked, and Makena scoffed in offense. "Don't be so rude, not everyone can skip five years of their life. Technically you're 24 but who's counting?" Makena smiled.

"I'm kidding! You literally haven't aged a day, it literally looks like you're still 20."

"I will take that as a compliment, Princess," Makena said as Shuri sat down next to her.

"So, Okoye kind of told me everything," Shuri mumbled awkwardly. Makena sighed, running a hand down her face. "And everything? As in.."

"The hallucination drug. Disappearing every few months. Destroying every room in your father's house. Everything," Shuri said. "I'm sorry, that you felt the need to use drugs to deal with the pain. I know how much drugs ruined your life so it must've not been easy."

Makena shook her head, not letting Shuri try to put any blame on herself. "No, no, don't feel sorry. I made choices. I chose to do the stuff I did to deal with it and faced the consequences. None of that is your fault. So don't feel sorry for me, I don't want pity," Makena stated.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to bring it up," Shuri mumbled.

Makena sighed heavily and stood up, walking over to the balcony and looking over Wakanda. Shuri stood up and stood herself next to Makena. "Ya know, these past five years have been absolute torture without you. And now that you're finally back, I still have no clue where we even stand." Makena said, leaning on the balcony.

"Where do you want us to stand?"

"If that kiss didn't say enough then I don't know what will," Makena mumbled and Shuri smiled to herself, catching onto what Makena was saying.

"Then maybe, you should show me again," Shuri said, and Makena turned to look at her. "Is that your subtle way of asking me to kiss you? Because baby it's not very subtle."

Shuri rolled her eyes, of course Makena says this in the middle of a intimate moment. "Shut up." Shuri said before leaning forward and pressing their lips together. Makena smiled and brought Shuri closer to her, pulling her in by her waist.

"Take me to the bed, love," Shuri mumbled into the kiss, wrapping her arms around Makena's waist. "You sure?" Makena pulled away, making sure Shuri wasn't just saying that because they were kissing.

"More than ever."

Makena raised her brows and smiled, "You sure you can handle me?" She teased.

Shuri rolled her eyes with a scoff at Makena's cockyness. "Don't be so cocky. If I couldn't handle you I wouldn't have asked," Shuri countered.

"My princess, can you please turn your coms off?" Okoye's voice came from the Kimoyo Beads and Makena laughed. "Sorry, Okoye," Shuri said, quickly turning them off along with her Kimoyo Beads.

"So which is worse? Okoye hearing you talk dirty? Or thinking you can handle me?" Makena teased with a laugh and Shuri rolled her eyes not finding her jokes funny. "You're so unserious."

Makena smiled and grabbed onto Shuri's waist, "And yet you love me anyways." Makena picked up Shuri and she wrapped her legs around Makena's waist as Makena carried her over to the bed. "Unfortunately I do." Shuri mumbled.

Makena set on the bed and before Shuri tried to unzip her dress, Makena stopped her. "Have you done this before?"

"Not really, no."

"Do you want me to be gentle?" Makena asked, pulling off her tank top so she remained in her black bra.

Shuri looked Makena up and down slowly with a hitched breath and shook her head. "Mhm, I'm gonna need words baby," Makena said, a bit amused by Shuri's behavior.

"You can do whatever you want."

Makena licked her lips and took a deep breath before exiting her car. She wore a black suit as she wasn't the biggest fan of dresses. She knew she was probably a bit late but it didn't matter, as long as she was there. Makena walked around the house to the back, where everyone was gathered. Makena walked over to Shuri, T'Challa and Okoye, placing her hand on Shuri's back.

"You okay, my love?" Shuri asked, knowing Makena was late as she had been busy visiting her family's grave.

"Yeah, I'm good." Makena replied lowly.

Everyone gathered in respective silence as Pepper set the flower ring (can't remember what it's called) into the pond. Makena wasn't close to Tony but she still held great respect for him. Him sacrificing himself to save the world when he had a daughter and a wife was the most selfless thing Makena had witnessed.

As the funeral ended, some began to leave, having stuff to do or just not wanting to stay around in their sadness. Makena leaned against a tree, watching T'Challa, Shuri and Okoye give their condolences to Pepper.

She looked out to the water noticing Clint and Wanda standing near the pond. She sighed, she felt bad for Wanda. Losing a lover was one of the hardest things to go through. She just hoped Wanda could deal with it in a healthy way. Unlike how Makena dealt with losing Shuri.

Makena blinked feeling a hand on her lower back and she turned to look at Shuri. T'Challa and Okoye most likely waiting in the car. "Did you want me to come with you?" Shuri asked.

Makena shook her head softly, "No, no it's okay. I'll be back in Wakanda soon. I need to stay here for a bit."

"Okay, give me a call when you arrive. I love you," Shuri said, pressing a kiss to Makena's cheek before walking back to the car to an awaiting T'Challa and Okoye.

A few hours later Makena walked along the somewhat peaceful graveyard. She held a small bouquet of flowers in hand. The wind blew, hitting her face amd running through her hair with a slight chill.

It took her a few minutes to locate it but she finally found it. Natasha's grave.

There was many flowers, and gifts and cards around her grave. Telling Makena that people were extremely grateful for Natasha and her sacrifice for the world. Makena leaned down on brushed away all the leafs. Makena pulled out the old flowers from the vase and put in the new ones before she sat down.

"Ya know, I was never one for believing in God or the Devil. Or heaven and hell. But I do hope you're up in heaven if it is true," Makena spoke, fiddling with her knife as she spoke.

"And before you try scolding me, I do plan to tell her I love her, I'm just not ready yet. And I hope you know that I couldn't have done it without you. Those five long years of my life would've ended a lot sooner if you weren't there. And I appreciate you giving me hope, because if I didn't have any hope I'm not sure I'd be here right now."

"I can go on and on about how much I appreciate you, but I'm sure you already know how much I do so I'll save you the speech."

Makena sighed and set her hand on the stone. "We're gonna send the stones back tomorrow. Steve wouldn't let me go with him so I have a feeling he's up to something. I don't think he ever really got over Peggy. I somewhat understand him. I don't think anything could let me get over Shuri. And with everyone I've lost you'd think that would be weird coming from me."

"Truth is, I'm so terrified. Terrified of losing anyone else. Losing you should've been my last straw but we both know you'd kill me if I didn't go through with the plan. But Nat, we won. And I really hope wherever you are, you're proud. I love you, Nat."

Makena stood up and dusted off her pants. As she walked to the car the wind blew harsher and then it suddenly stopped. Makena smiled and shook her head before hopping in her car and driving away.

"Remember, you have to return the stones to the exact moment you got 'em, or you're gonna open up a bunch of nasty alternative realities." Bruce instructed Steve.

They were back at the destroyed compound, Makena having managed to find her briefcase with her time machine in it and managed to build a smaller version of the Quantum tunnel to return the stones.

"Don't worry, Bruce. Clip all the branches," Steve responded, shutting the briefcases with all the stones in it.

"You know, I tried. When I had the gauntlet, the stones, I really tried to bring her back. I miss her, man." Bruce said, referring to Natasha.

"Me too."

Makena crossed her arms over her chest and walked over to Bucky.

"You know, if you want, I could come with you," Sam said. Makena and Bucky shared a glance, already having talked about why Steve didn't want Makena to come with him.

"You're a good man, Sam. This one's on me, though."

Makena stepped to the side as Steve walked over to Bucky. "Don't do anything stupid till I get back."

"How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you." Bucky and Steve shared a hug, and Bucky spoke once more. "Gonna miss you, buddy."

"It's gonna be okay, Buck."

Steve turned to Makena who held a small smile on the corner of her lips. "Do me a favor," Steve said.

"Sure."

"Tell the girl you love her before it's too late," Steve said. Makena smiled to herself and Steve turned around and walked up the steps to the Quantum tunnel.

Steve clicked the button to put on the time travel suit. "How long is this gonna take?" Sam asked, oblivious to Steve's real intentions to not come back.

"For him, as long as he needs. For us, five seconds." Makena watched as Steve picked up Mjölnir and looked at Bruce. "You ready, Cap?"

Steve nodded. "All right, we'll meet you back here, okay?"

"You bet."

"Going quantum. Three...two...one." Steve was sent back into time, and Makena knew he wasn't coming back. "And returning in five...four, three, two...one." Bruce flipped the switch but Steve didn't come back.

"Where is he?" Sam asked.

"I don't know. He blew right by his time stamp. He should be here."

Makena blocked them out and she and Bucky both turned around and noticed a man, sitting on the stone bench looking over the water. Bucky called Sam over and he walked over, standing in between them. Bucky smiled softly before Sam walked over to the man.

Makena leaned her head on Bucky's shoulder with a soft sigh. "You gonna be okay?" Makena mumbled.

"I think so."

"If you need anything I'm a call away."

"Thanks, Kena."
