Notes:
Markey is most known for their hair - best described as a patchy-buzzcut. They got diagnosed with Alopecia about 3 years ago and tried to hide it for a long time because it made him feel very insecure, but since shaving his hair he feels much more confident in himself. He has a square, lean face and big, striking hazel eyes. He likes to wear jewellery- both his ears are pierced and he often paints his nails. He looks both quite masculine, but embraces his feminine side often in dressing androgynously.

Illnesses/ailments:
Alopecia - an autoimmune disorder that causes your hairloss. Hair comes out in clumps of varying sizes (often coin sized) over a (in Markey's case, gradual) period of time.

Post-Traumatic Stress disorder from being a child in a war torn state. It doesn't often surface as he has enabled quite a lot of emotional distance, but some things can trigger it, like loud noises, construction sites, A&E hospitals

Personality:
Confident, but not in a brash way. In quite a calm, attractive way. Confident in their sexuality and you feel like they're someone who knows what they're doing in life. Effortlessly cool, perhaps somewhat distant and aloof at times. Yet also friendly - they are not disdainful ever, but only aloof when they don't feel like talking.

Markey is kind, sort of bubbly but in a cool way. He embraces his queer side, and when feeling good about himself he's not afraid to show it. He has the self confidence to make being queer actually cool, which especially amongst young boys is not common.

Yet when you meet Mark you know they're not all sunshine and rainbows. They have this stillness to them that suggests a darkness. A sadness perhaps. They don't talk about it, and rarely publicise their struggles. They hate being pitied, and can often get quite defensive around those to try.

Background:
Lived in Syria for the first 13 years of his life. His father was a British-Syrian diplomat, and his mother worked in childcare as a primary teacher. He also has a younger brother named Aaron.

One year into the war, their lives had already been destroyed. Their home had been bombed to ruins. It was not safe. In the year and a half, despite being quite middle class, Mark had seen things no young boy should see. The fear of being bombed was there every minute of every day. Despite your economic status, it was a civil war. No one was safe. His dad found a way for the family to leave, but decided to stay and help. He said he would join them by the end of the year, but he never did.

They haven't heard from him since. He is either alive and hiding his identity (as a diplomat), or died as one of the many casualties.

He, his younger brother and Aaron moved to Brighton, England. They had good lives there. At first it took a while for the boys with funny accents to fit in, but by age 16 the only thing that recalled his past was the scar on his left cheekbone. By 16 he had grown in confidence. He was considered one of the cooler kids in school. Sure, he wasn't a sporty kid, but he was confident in being himself and passionate about what he wanted. He had 4 girlfriends and three boyfriends at school. He hasn't been in a relationship for the past three years.

Since graduating school, he studied contemporary dance at Trinity Laban in London. Since then he has been working in hospitality, trying to get dance gigs and work up his repertoire for choreography.
