𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵

MAEVE SLOAN FOUND HERSELF IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON WITH CHARLIE GILLESPIE. the two stayed in her apartment, charlie taking the spear room of course. when maeve went to visit her father and soon to be step mom yesterday, the two asked maeve for a very kind favor, to sing at their wedding. an idea immediately popped into maeve's head, she didn't know how her father would react seeing as he didn't know that she would be bringing a date

maeve grinned softly as she looked at her through her lengthy mirror. her soft light pink bridesmaid dress hugged her body nicely. her eyebrows furrowed when she heard a knock on her apartment door. as she walked out of her room she see's charlie gillespie walking out of the spare room as well

her eyebrows rose slightly as she takes in the nicely dressed man in front of her. as charlie comes eye to eye with the green eyed brunette his mouth parts slightly and his heart does a flip. she was absolutely breathtaking. the two were at loss of words, before anyone could speak up another knock is heard from the main entrance door

"i-i should get that" she chuckles nervously

charlie nods "y-yeah" he shifts awkwardly before walking into the kitchen to grab a water bottle

upon twisting the doorknob and opening the door, mark sloan rushes in panic. he starts pacing back and forth in the middle between the kitchen and living room. as maeve closes the door he turns to her, his back facing the man he is unaware of

"i'm panicking" he blurts, before maeve could even utter a word, he continues "i-i'm doing the right thing, right? marrying lexie?" again she didn't get the chance the answer "yeah of course i am" he nods. maeve was about to speak up when he cuts her off "i-i mean s-she's been absolutely amazing with you from the moment she met you, a-and with sofia as well" he chuckles softly "that's what every single father wants? that's what's most important, right?" he asks maeve, but once again cuts her off "why am i nervous? i'm never nervous, i'm mark freaking sloan" he chuckles nervously as he runs a hand through his hair "i'm doing the right thing" he assures himself "y-yeah i am. i love lexie. a-and she's amazing and i want to spend the rest of my life with her" he stresses towards his daughter

maeve and charlie's eyes widen. she's never seen her father be so nervous, other than the day sofia was born. on the other hand, charlie was starting to become nervous at knowing he's about to meet mark sloan

"we're meant to be" mark concluded his ramble. maeve didn't even try to speak, knowing he was going to cut her off again "yeah, we're meant to be" he smiled at the thought of fiancé. he turned his attention back to maeve "thanks for the advice, sweetheart" he grinned as he took in her appearance "you look beautiful by the way" he pointed towards her before turning around to walk towards the kitchen to grab a drink, but came to a stop when he comes eye to eye with charlie

mark sloan arches his eyebrow, he lifts his right index finger, as he looks over his shoulder towards his daughter "maeve?"

"y-yeah?" maeve awkwardly responds

"who is this and why is he in your apartment?" he asks before glancing back to charlie "who are you?" he asks the man

charlie suddenly forgets how to speak as mark goes all dad mode on him "i-i"

"well, i-i why are you here?" he asks as he crosses his hands against his chest

maeve sighs as she rolls her eyes "dad stop" she says as she walks closer towards mark

mark just glares at the brunette boy "this— this is charlie... my friend" she says as mark narrows his eyes at charlie "and my date"

mark's eyes widen, before letting out a laugh. maeve furrows her brows as she tilts her head in confusion, charlie also furrowing his brows. as his laugh dies down, he glances at maeve "i-i'm s-sorry, i just thought i heard you say he was your date" he says as he wipes his fake tears

maeve rolls her eyes, before shooting charlie a apologetic look "he is" maeve responds to mark's words

"no he's not" mark bluntly replied

"why not?" she asks. mark didn't reply, he was holding back and maeve could see it in his eyes. she sighs before grabbing his forearm "excuse us" she said to charlie as she drags her father into her room and closes the door

"careful with the suit" mark sighs as he dusts off his arm

"stop being mean to charlie" she warned

"oh come on honey, you can't be serious" mark folds his hands against his chest. as maeve does the same she glares at him to continue. he sighs "we both know that he isn't your type"

a scoff left maeve's lips "then what's my type according to mark sloan" she argues

mark chose to ignore that she called him by his name instead of 'dad' "the bad boys or whatever you guys call them nowadays" he shrugs "you know...like dean"

maeve raised a brow "oh you mean like the traitors? cheaters? liars?" she argues

mark sighs "look, all i'm just trying to say is that shaggy over there is different than dean" he shrugs

after mark left, both maeve and charlie headed to the chapel. maeve was tapping the steering wheel as she was driving "i'm sorry" she spoke up causing charlie to glance at her "about my dad... he tends to be very overprotective"

charlie chuckled lowly "don't worry about it" he expected this type of attitude from mark sloan. especially after all the things maeve has told him

as they pulled right outside the chapel, maeve sighs "time to meet the rest of my family" she said nervously

once the two entered the chapel, maeve was met with jackson "hey!" jackson greeted his person with a hug

"hey jackson" maeve grinned before pulling away "you remember charlie, right?" she points to the boy standing next to her

jackson nods "yeah, yeah. hey man" charlie sent him a nod "i was actually waiting for you to show up, lexie and meredith are waiting for you" jackson told maeve

"are you gonna be okay without me for a few minutes?" maeve asks charlie

"don't worry, i got him" jackson said as he patted charlie's left shoulder "just go down this hallway, and it's the first door on your left" he instructed

maeve sloan wasted no time and following the directions. as she pushed the door open she's eye to eye with lexie grey in a beautiful wedding dress "lex" maeve gushes in lust before shutting the door "you look absolutely stunning"

lexie smiled "thank you, mae"

"so, who's the lucky guy?"  meredith asks as she walks over to her granddaughter and greets her with a hug

maeve sighs "he told you" she mentally made a reminder to scold her father both lexie and meredith nodded. she groans "he's just a friend from work"

"a friend who is your date to your father's wedding?" meredith asks skeptically as she narrows her eyes at the green eyed brunette

"yes, a friend" maeve sighs

"well, i can't wait to see this goody two shoes" meredith replies as she uses the nickname mark gave charlie

throughout the whole ceremony, charlie gillespie could feel eyes on him. whenever he would turn his head either way, he'd find someone glaring at him. who scared him the most was callie, who maeve introduced him to. maeve on the other hand, made sure to avoid alex and cristina, knowing the two would either grill or make fun of charlie. which is why after the ceremony, maeve basically dragged charlie out of the chapel, announcing that she would meet the rest at the party venue
