28. Westview

Wanda's POV

I drove calmly and silently, the only sound was that was being made was a very silent Jeannie who was playing with Y/N's dog tags.

Eventually arriving in the car park of the SWORD headquarters. I parked my car and waited for a moment, thinking about opening the box Y/N left, but I wanted to do it after burying him.

Jeannie: Where are we Mama?

She asked innocently and turned around and gave her a smile. I unbuckled my seat belt before I answered with a soft tone, my throat was dry from all the crying.

Wanda: I have some business to do. I'll come back.

Jeannie: Don't leave me, Mama.

She began crying again. At this point, I couldn't blame her. She lost her me before and now her dad. I have to be there for her, she's the one caught in the middle of this.

I nod, bushing hushing her with my soft voice. I opened my door and closed it after getting out. I access the back door and unbuckled her out, picking up the sobbing girl and closing the door.

After locking the car, I held her close to my chest as we headed into the headquarters.

-

I was now at the reception desk, Jeannie was by my leg holding it close. The receptionist had a confused look as I requested seeing Y/N. Making me more angry as they weren't letting his partner and daughter see him.

Wanda: I know you have him.

Receptionist: I'm sorry but like I said-

Wanda: Please...

I said with a shaky breath, looking down at my hands as I rubbed them, I was frustrated and depressed as I held myself back from crying. Fiddling with my the ends of my cardigan I spoke up again.

Wanda: When I came back, I only saw him for ten minutes before he sacrificed himself for the universe.... his... body... was taken away for so called 'research', so I know he's here.

I looked at him with passive aggressive rage in my eyes, I picked up Jean and held her to my chest.

Wanda: He deserves a funeral at least. My daughter and I deserve it.

It was true, even though there was honorary service for Y/N and Clint, I didn't get the body back to bury him properly. It felt as if they were using his body for their personal gain, which is obvious because he was special, physically and mentally.

The receptionist then gets a call a takes it as I wait, I leave a quick kiss on Jean's cheek and rub her arm softly. The man then gets off and looks up at me from his desk.

Receptionist: Through the doors, two lefts and a right.

I waste no time in shielding my girl with my hand and walk away from the desk, going towards the restricted door.

Receptionist: Hey I need to buzz you in!

Wanda: I got it. Thanks!

I replied nonchalantly and used my powers to open the doors, before storming through the white halls with my daughter. Irritated and heartbroken.

I eventually find the door and push it open with one hand as my other supported the child with me.

A man stood up with a smile and came towards me as I entered the room.

???: Wanda Maximoff, it's an honor to meet you... truly.

The door shuts behind me as I look up at the man, still appalled by everything. He smiles at Jean and tries to give her a handshake but I swat his hand away.

Wanda: Who are you?

???: Director Tyler Hayward. I understand you're here to see Wolverine-

Wanda: Y/N. His name is Y/N.

Hayward: Right. My mistake. You're here to recover the body if I'm correct?

Wanda: Well I'm his next of kin.

Hayward: Of course... I'd like to show you something.

Wanda: Then you'll give him back to me?

I spat with a hidden layer of venom with my words, I was angry but I didn't feel like starting a fight. These were my basic rights and they were not being met... he tried to nod which he merely did before signalling me to come.

Hayward: Please, just come with me.

He points to a large window to our side and I follow him unamused, opening the glass door, we were now in an overhead viewing area of what was happening.

And I felt my heart drop to my stomach.

It was Y/N's corpse, wearing one peice of garment to cover his crotch while he laid there. Eyes closed. The burning from the snap somehow was removed and they were re-inserting the vibranium claws that were chopped off from Thanos.

This mirrored too much of his traumatic abuse back in Hydra when he was used as a weapon. It made me sick. They weren't respecting his body. A real human body.

Wanda: What... are you doing?

I ask slowly as tears begin to brim my eyes, Jeannie looks and gasps, seeing her father lifeless below her.

The workers below began to use a saw to chop off his final bone claw, making my breath harder to breathe. My hands slam against the glass as they screw on his metal claws.

Wanda: Stop... stop...

I mumbled to myself, Jean's grip on my cardigan getting tighter. I cried as they began to work on other areas of the body. I immediately turned around to face the director with tears in my eyes and my voice cracking.

Wanda: What are you doing to him?!

He sighed, not wanting to tell me before he confessed out of his mouth.

Hayward: We're... re-initiating the Weapon X program.

And with that I got angry, fighting in my lungs to get what I wanted to say out without being destructive.

Wanda: Y/N isn't a weapon, he's a human being!

Hayward: Wanda... Y/N is a Mutant, there is nothing human about that...

My eyes glowed red when he said that, I pull my hand out and send him backwards with a ball of red wisps. I wasn't going to have it. He groans in pain before I turn back and send vibrations through the glass, making it break.

I grab Jeannie and keep her close to me before lowering down to be met with the hostile and scared workers who all pulled out their guns.

Jeannie quickly tucked her head in my neck at the sound of guns cocking. I never thought she'd have to go through this and it broke my heart having to retrieve my husband's body like this.

Before any damage was done, Haywards voice from above called out who was still recovering from the act of defense I did upon him.

Hayward: Fall back. It's fine. Let her take the body.

I landed on both feet before I took a few steps forward slowly to Y/N's body. He looked so vulnerable like this, innocent. I wasn't going to question this organisation's ethical issues.

I ran my finger through his hair, each inch causing me to tear up before I ultimately thought of all the emotional moments we had. His kisses, hugs, soft touches, and anything he was able to be as a father.

My thoughts caused me to remember the first time I had a nightmare about Pietro, when he comforted me by making me listen to his heartbeat...

Wanda: I can't feel you anymore...

I sobbed for a moment before I gently lifted his body with my magic and exited the building with Jean clung to my chest.

3rd Person POV

Wanda got a blanket to cover up his body, making sure to fold the backseats flat so he could lay down while she made Jean sit in the front with her.

She had an idea from what Tony had told her, he suggested that he could be buried at his childhood home in Westview. A place that he wanted to rebuild and live in happily with Wanda.

Driving to the address, she enteree a very gated neighbourhood and town like area. Y/N had told her many stories about his family here.

In many ways, they both lost their families and their homes. It was one thing that had brought them together.

Except, they didn't want Jean to go through what they did. But it seems it slowly was becoming that way.

Wanda's eyes began to examine the different people in the town, they had all experienced what was known as the blip and were very, very slowly getting back to the things were.

Only Wanda could not. Her happiness went away in order to save the universe.

She parked infront of Y/N's childhood house. Well what was left of it. A large patch of dirt. Wanda exited the car and brought Jean out too.

Then, she proceeded to use her powers to dig a hole into the ground, before building a coffin. She used red wisps to carry Y/N's corpse into the box before slowly and slightly hesitantly, placed the coffin into the hole.

She wasn't ready to say goodbye. The Avengers did, but not them. The two important people of Y/N.

He promised them so much yet fate controlled them. It made her dejected when she thought how cruel the world was to her. She just wanted to live peacefully.

Jeannie then ran to coffin in the ground and carefully removed the dog tags from her neck. The infant then placed them in her father's hand as she was also struggling to let go of her best friend. A best friend who took care of her for four years of her life.

Jeannie: You wanted these back. Here you go, daddy.

She ran back to her mother and lightly sobbed against her knee... it was very hard knowing this wasn't meant to happen at all.

Wanda then carefully opened took out the box from her cardigan, seeing what was inside, carefully revealing two items...

An Envelope.

A Ring.

This was clearly meant to be a proposal gift but Y/N wasn't alive to hand it to her. Her breath hitched at the sight of the ring. It was a scarlet ring, similar of the color of the first thing he ever bought her. The red blanket.

She shakily slipped the ring on her finger, feeling awful that it should've been him to put it on her finger. And then she opened the envelope which revealed a plan for the house. He was intending on rebuilding it into the perfect family home.

Something they both dreamed of...

He was going to propose.

They were going to have the perfect wedding.

They were going to have more kids and have a beautiful family.

They were going to live a family life filled with joy, tears and even more. Something they dreamed of together.

And they were going to grow old together seeing their kids flourish into amazing beings.

But she was unlucky. No matter how hard she tried, something was snatched from one of them.

Why was it always them? she wondered.

Wanda's parents. Y/N's parents. Pietro and Jimmy.

Wanda's death.

And now Y/N's.

Why?

She held the torn apart dreams close to her, remembering all the moments they had together.

"What's the point in grieving, if we don't continue to love?"

That caused the woman to lose it.

She collapsed on her knees and cried out loud, letting every ounce of emotion pour out. Jean watched unable to help her mother as she was caught up in her own sadness.

She tried to breathe but she couldn't and before she knew it, she let out a huge scream.

And all of a sudden, her emotions became her source of power, causing all the red chaos energy as a reality manipulator, creating some sort of... Hex.

The house was rebuilt and created in the way she desired, Jean watched in confusion as what was happening...

Because from her ground view, she saw the physical body of her father being brought back to life.

The house was being built all around and even outwards, stretching all the way towards Westview...

After several moments, it finally stopped and Wanda was stopped, breathing heavily from all the exertion of power.

Jean then ran to Wanda, scared as to what was happening, she crouched down and put a hand on the little girls cheek.

Wanda: A-Are you okay, baby?

She kissed the top of her head before turning to see someone that left her in a shocked state, standing up to see if this was truly a dream or not.

Y/N was there, alive and smiling. Giving the same look her gave to Wanda the moment he fell in love.

Jeannie: Daddy!

The girl ran towards her father, suddenly becoming a part of the setting in the 1950s, supporting a flower summer dress. Y/N picked his daughter up and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Y/N: My little Phoenix.

Wanda was still astounded, taking a few steps closer, still very confused but somehow the sadness was already leaving her body.

Y/N: Are you going to join the hug, my beautiful, beautiful Wanda?

It was him. It was Y/N.

This made her dawn a smile, a grateful and supportive smile. They were finally going to live their dream.

She nodded and enthusiastically swayed her way forward to meet her husband with a hug. Kissing Jean on the cheek before softly leaving a gentle kiss on Y/N's lips.

Wanda: I missed you, my dear.

Y/N: So have I.

She looked up at him and stroked his cheek, still hugging on to her family of three, she couldn't afford to lose them anymore.

Wanda: I love you guys.

Jeannie: I love you more.

Y/N: And I love all two of you more than infinity!

The family laughed, seemingly knowing what to do as they separated and sat on the living room couch. Jean was in the middle as Y/N and Wanda touched the sides of their head.

Smiling.

-

Start of WandaY/N!! Will it be wholesome? Yes.

Will I give you guys a happy ending?

Ummmmm.
