CHAPTER SEVENTEEN:
YOU DIDN'T SEND THIS MESSAGE?

"CALL HER." ELAINE QUICKLY SNAPPED.

"I don't have my phone on me!" Scott panicked.

"Stiles." Elaine turned towards the boy who was quick to pull out his phone and hand it to Scott who immediately dialed Allison's number.

After a few rings, she picked up. "Stiles?"

"No, it's me, where are you?" Scott quickly told her.

"I'm in the school looking for you. Why weren't you at my place?" Allison questioned.

"Where are you right now?" Scott ignored the female's question as the group hurriedly walked down the halls.

"On the first floor. . ."

"Where? Where are you exactly?" Scott rushed.

"The swimming pools." The female answered.

"Get to the lobby. Go now."

"Okay. Okay, I'm coming." Allison told him before ending the call. With that, the trio were quick to run towards the lobby, busting through the doors just in time to see Allison arriving. Scott was quick to run up to the female.

"Why did you come? What are you doing here?" Scott stuttered out.

"Because you asked me too. . ." Allison answered with a confused look covering her face.

This time it was Scott's turn to give her a confused look. "I asked you to?"

Allison swallowed before saying, "Why do I get the feeling you didn't send this message?"

"Because I didn't." Scott simply answered. Elaine exchanged a worried look with Stiles before the duo went back to looking at the duo.

"Did you drive here?" Stiles quickly asked the female.

"Jackson did." She answered.

"Jackson's here, too?" Scott's eyes widened.

"And Lydia."

"Lydia?" Elaine spoke, her heart rate seeming to accelerate at the mention of her best friend.

Allison looked between the group of three before saying, "What's going on? Who sent this text?" That's when she got a call, making her quickly place the phone to her ear. "Where are you?" And just as she said that, Jackson and Lydia walked through the door, making Allison hang up the phone.

"Finally." Lydia breathed. "Can we go now?"

Allison looked at the redhead, nodding her head. However, the group all looked up when they heard something above them. Loud stomping and crashes came from above, making Elaine swallow thickly. Elaine found herself grabbing onto Stiles' hand out of fear, the boy quick to interlace their fingers.

"Run!" Scott quickly ordered, making the group all take off just as the alpha fell through the roof. It chased after the group, letting out growls and snarls as it continued to gain on them. When they finally made it to the double doors at the end of the hallway, Elaine and Stiles were quick to push them open, making everyone enter the room and Allison and Scott being the ones to seal the door shut. However, that's when both Stiles and Elaine noticed the many lines of windows that were in the classroom.

"Scott, wait." Stiles spoke. "Not here."

However, Stiles was ignored as Scott and Jackson continued to push things up against the door to keep it sealed whilst Allison asked, "What was that? Scott, what was that?"

"What came out of the ceiling?" Lydia anxiously questioned.

"Just help me!" Scott ordered the two. "The chairsโ€•๏ธŽstack the chairs." The two girls quickly did as they told whilst Stiles attempted to grab Scott's attention once more.

"Guysโ€•๏ธŽ" They continued to ignore the boy. "Can we just wait a second? You guys, listen to me, wโ€•๏ธŽ" Elaine glanced at the boy with a small frown, watching as he got frustrated by the second. "Can we wait a second? Guys? Stiles talking. Can we hang on one second, please?"

Elaine let out a groan before yelling out, "HEY ASSHATS!" This quickly grabbed the groups attention. "Let the boy speak, will ya?"

Stiles gave the woman a thankful look before looking back towards the others and saying, "Okay, nice work. Really beautiful job, everyone. Now, what should we do about the twenty-foot wall of windows?" He motioned towards the windows with both of his hands as he continued to look at them expectantly.

"Can somebody please explain to me what's going on, because I'm freaking out here. And I would like to know why." Allison quickly said, sounding as if she were about to go into hysterics. She looked at Scott who then glanced at Elaine who gave a subtle shake of the head before he turned back towards his girlfriend as she called out his name. However, he just ignored the question and quickly walked away from her.

Scott walked over to a desk, leaning against it as he glanced over at Elaine and Stiles, along with the windows. Elaine frowned before moving from Stiles' side and walking over to her brother, placing a hand on his shoulder. Her attention was moved from her brother and towards Stiles who started towards the other three.

"Somebody killed the janitor." Stiles told them, making Elaine look at him with wide eyes.

"What?" Lydia breathed out, fear clear in her voice.

"Yeah, the janitor's dead." Stiles nodded.

Allison let out a scoff before saying, "What's he talking about? Is this a joke?"

"What? Who killed him?" Jackson quickly questioned.

"No, no, no, no. . . This was supposed to be over. . . The mountain lion killedโ€•๏ธŽ" Lydia stuttered only to be cut off by Jackson.

"No, don't you get it? There wasn't a mountain lion."

"Who was it? What does he want? What's happening?" Allison quickly fired out questions before turning her attention towards Scott who still had his back facing the group with Elaine standing at his side. "Scott?!"

Scott met Elaine's eyes before hesitantly saying, "I-I don't know. I-I justโ€•๏ธŽIf-if we go out there, he's gonna kill us."

"Us?" Lydia asked with wide eyes. "He's gonna kill us?"

"Who? Who is it?" Allison quickly asked.

After a moment of thinking, Scott quickly answered. "It's Derek. It's Derek Hale."

"Scott!" Elaine looked at her brother in disbelief. She wasn't one to trust Derek, but to blame a murder on him? Which they've already managed to do once before? That just didn't sit right with her.

"Derek killed the janitor?" Jackson asked in disbelief.

"Are you sure?" Allison questioned with a frown.

"I saw him." Scott spoke.

"Scott!" The girl snapped once more, making him look at her apologetically. Elaine exchanged a look with Stiles before turning her attention back towards her brother.

"The mountain lionโ€•๏ธŽ" Lydia started only to be cut off again.

"No! Derek killed them." Scott quickly said.

"All of them?" Allison whispered in disbelief.

"Yeah. Starting with his own sister." Scott nodded. Elaine clenched her jaw, shaking her head as she moved away from her brother and over towards the windows with her arms crossed over her chest.

"The bus driver?" Allison asked.

"And the guy in the video store. It's been Derek the whole time. He's in here with us. And if we don't get out now, he's going to kill us, too."

"Call the cops." Jackson quickly instructed.

"No." Stiles shook his head.

"Wh-what do you mean, "no?"" Jackson furrowed his eyebrows.

"I mean, no. You wanna hear it in Spanish? Noh." Stiles then continued by saying, "Look, Derek killed three people, okay? We don't know what he's armed with." Elaine turned on her heels, looking at her best friend in disbelief at the fact that he was following through with the whole Derek being a murderer thing.

"Your dad is armed with an entire Sheriff's department. Call him." Jackson snapped.

"I'm calling." Lydia said, pulling out her phone and calling the police department.

"No, Lydia, would you just hold on a secโ€•๏ธŽ" Stiles tried, going after the girl only for Jackson to push him back making Scott stop the boy from starting anything.

"Yes, we're at Beacon Hills High School. We're trapped, and we need you toโ€•๏ธŽ" Lydia spoke on the phone, only to frown. "Butโ€•๏ธŽ" She then pulled her phone away from her ear, looking at the group before saying, "She hung up on me."

"The police hung up on you?" Allison asked in surprise.

"She said they got a tip warning them that there are gonna be prank calls about a break-in at the high school. She said if I called again that they're gonna trace it and have me arrested." Lydia spoke.

"Okay, then call again." Allison quickly urged.

"No, they won't trace a cell, and they'll send a car to your house before they send anyone here." Stiles informed the group.

"What theโ€•๏ธŽwhat-what is this? Why does Derek wanna kill us? Why is he killing anyone?" Allison asked, placing her head in her hands. The group all turned to look at Scott.

"Why's everyone looking at me?" The boy frowned.

"Is he the one that sent her the text?" Lydia asked.

"No. I mean, I don't know." Scott stuttered.

"Is he the one that called the police?" Allison pressed.

"I don't know!" Scott snapped in frustration. Allison quickly turned away from him, making Elaine narrow her eyes at her brother before walking over to Allison and offering her gentle smile.

"All right, why don't we ease back on the throttle here, yeah?" Stiles quickly spoke, placing a hand on the male's shoulder. Scott and Stiles quickly moved away from the rest of the group whilst Lydia checked on Allison who just brushed her off.

"I'm sorry about my brother." She softly told the brunette. "He's just under a lot of stress and is acting out in frustration." Allison offered her a sad smile before the two turned back towards the group just as Jackson snapped at Stiles and Scott.

"Okay, assheads! New plan. Stiles calls his useless dad and tells him to send someone with a gun and decent aim. Are we good with that?" Jackson quickly asked, glancing around the group.

Scott sighed before turning towards Stiles and saying, "He's right. Tell him the truth if you have to. Just. . . just call him."

"I'm not watching my dad get eaten alive." Stiles denied, shaking his head.

"Alright, give me the phone." Jackson said before quickly walking up to Stiles and grabbing onto the boy making Stiles turn and quickly punch the boy in the face.

"Jackson!" Elaine called with a frown, looking at Stiles with wide eyes. She walked up to the two before glancing between them. "What the hell is wrong with both of you?" She snapped her gaze towards Stiles before saying, "Call the sheriff. If you don't we are going to all die in here. And I'd rather live to see another day in order to kick both of your heads in." With that the girl walked away and over to Jackson, kneeling down in front of him and making sure that he was alright.
