(Y/N) knew they had everything covered for loading people up into the lifeboats, so when she saw about six robots flying towards the helicarrier, she knew where to head next. Her glowing figure was ready to fire at the robots when she saw a gunshot from above and a smoke trail that didn't belong to Tony's suit. (Y/N) immediately knew who it was based on the suit and by the yell of enthusiasm on comms.
"Yes!" Rhodey cheered, and he knocked out another one of the robots. "Now this is gonna be a good story."
Rhodey fired at the other robots with the machine gun on his suit's shoulder, meanwhile (Y/N) twirled in the air to blast another robot, and the last one exploded out of nowhere a few feet away. She recognized the red and gold outline of the Iron Man suit and she was preparing herself for any type of remark he had.
"Yup," he firstly said, and (Y/N) flew in between both of them in midair. "If you live to tell it."
"You think I can't hold my own?"
"We get through this, I'll hold your own."
"You love making it weird, don't you?" (Y/N) remarked as she spotted another group of robots flying around the helicarrier.
"You know me so well," Tony dramatically said and added more speed to his boosters.
The three of them circled the robots in the air, all of them using their respective weapons against them. While Tony and Rhodey fired from a distance at the robots, (Y/N) flew near them to punch holes into their chests or either blast them apart.
(Y/N) couldn't help but cheer and whoop every time she blasted one of the robots, and Tony made sure to throw the robots that were on his grip her way just to hear her enthusiastic yells again. She swerved the attacks as Rhodey fired at them, easily falling into rhythm.
"I got it," Tony's voice announced. "Create a heat seal. I could β I could supercharge the spire from below."
(Y/N) kept firing until she heard a blast not that far from her position. She saw how one of the lifeboats was losing balance in midair, just as one of the robots fired at the side of it. Rhodey and (Y/N) finished off the robot responsible for it, meanwhile Tony rushed to level the lifeboat with his own strength.
"Thor, I got a plan."
"We're out of time," Thor responded to his call. "They're coming for the core."
"Rhodey, get the rest of the people on board that carrier," Tony ordered to his best friend.
"On it."
"Avengers, time to work for a living."

(Y/N) followed Tony in the air until the exact center of the city, where the core was placed. It looked like an abandoned church of some kind, but she didn't pay that much attention to its details. Thor and the Vision were already surrounding the core, throwing off whatever robot that tried touching it.
Steve came in just a few seconds later, having gone through his rough share of fights once he got there. Wanda was with Clint, and the sight of his sister made Pietro rush over to her.
(Y/N) blasted one robot flying in and Tony did the same, not before he dropped his defensive position. "Romanoff, you and Banned better not be playing 'hide the zucchini'."
(Y/N) flickered her eyes to the side and gave him a look. He didn't seem to get why. "What?"
"I'm not even going to say anything."
"Relax, shellhead," Natasha replied before Tony could defend himself, with an annoyed tone. "Not all of us can fly. Keep your little boyfriend in check, (Y/N)."
(Y/N) scoffed at the redhead's words, though Natasha made a mental note that she didn't deny it. A crash was heard close to the scene, and Natasha appeared in the church not a few seconds later. She joined the couple's side, and immediately questioned the plan in action.
"What's the drill?"
"This is the drill," Tony pointed toward the core. "If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we lose."
The Hulk jumped right on top of a bunch of robots, crashing them instantly. The ones that weren't crushed by his landing were teared apart with a roar in a quick motion, and just after that he joined the team's side with no hesitation. (Y/N) saw a few other robots through the dust the wind had picked up, and a much bigger figure was seen hovering in the air.
Ultron was lowering himself down to make himself known to the team, yet he stayed in the air to keep a sense of superiority against them.
"Is that the best you can do?" Thor challenged. He yelled out of anger, tired of the robot's tactics.
Ultron raised a hand in the air. An army of a thousand more robots swarmed the scene, either running or flying toward them. (Y/N) resisted the urge to gulp at the sight of the army, yet she grew annoyed that Thor had involuntary caused this. This was going to be a long day, she thought.
Steve side-eyed Thor. "You had to ask."
Ultron had his arms extended outward. "This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted. All of you against all of me. How can you possibly hope to stop me?"
"Well, like the old man said. . ." Tony began, and Steve looked back at him since he knew who he was referring to. "Together."
And just like that, the army of robots charged in their direction. A roar escaped the Hulk's lips, and it was so loud that it nearly drowned all other sounds. (Y/N) blasted the robots that were coming in her direction, since all of them swarmed from every opening in the church. She punched a hole in the chest of a robot, unconsciously punching through a second chest since there was another robot behind that one. As she freed her hand from the destroyed robot, she used her leg to kick the flying robots and then throw the dismembered parts at them.
(Y/N) pushed herself to the air and crashed through several of other robots along with Tony, Thor and Vision, who were the others in the air. Wanda enveloped her share of robots in red mist before crashing them into pieces, meanwhile Pietro ran through them in a second. Clint threw exploding arrows at their cores and Natasha used her electric batons to pierce through them. Steve sliced them in half with his shield, and the Hulk kept tearing through them like they were made of glass.
(Y/N) dodged a blast from one robot but didn't get the time to react at another one flying her way, causing her to slam against the wall of the church. The robot pinned her to the wall and was heating up the blast gun in one hand, and this caught Thor's eye.
"Vaughn, heads up!"
He threw the hammer in her direction, and she caught it with the hand that was pushing the robot away from her. (Y/N) grabbed onto the handle of the hammer tightly and swung it toward the robot, instantly removing it off her. She cheered at her first use of the hammer, and she raised it up the air to summon lightning just like she'd seen Thor do all the time. Just like she predicted, lightning appeared at the tip of the hammer and (Y/N) did her best at directing it toward the approaching robots. Lightning struck on half of them, making them drop to the ground.
Satisfied with her experience with the hammer and realizing it that he probably needed it, (Y/N) threw it back to Thor. She made a quick note. "Is it always that unbalanced?"
The Vision flew by, chasing a robot that happened to pass right above them. "I made an identical comment."
"Well, if there's too much weight you lose power in the swing, so β " Thor tried to explain.
Ultron had been watching the fight from the sidelines, but he grew angry at the side of the Vision fighting against him. He flew right toward him, and Vision did his best in holding him in place, yet Ultron overpowered him and threw him against the wall of the church. Vision didn't give up then, and he used the gem on his forehead to shoot a yellow beam at him.
The power of the beam knocked Ultron back, getting him to his knees. Thor went to back him up, summoning lightning again and aiming it at Ultron's chest. (Y/N) balled her fists together and forced a large photon blast, adding more power on their part. Tony joined them too and raised his hands in the air to fire his own blasters. Too much hot power melted the side of Ultron's face, and that's when the four decided it was time to drop their respective blasts off.
Ultron's metal body was letting off steam, and he seemed weak. "You know, with the benefit of hindsight β "
The Hulk punched him, and the force of it made the leader of the robots fly into the air and disappearing out of sight. After that, the Hulk faced the other robots and could only offer a roar before they ran away, trying to flee the flying rock.
"They'll try to leave the city," Thor called out.
"We can't let them, not even one," Tony remembered. "Rhodey."
"I'm on it," Rhodey's voice returned to the comms in (Y/N)'s ear. "Oh, no. I didn't say you could leave."
Tony left the church, ready to start his plan on stopping the city from getting even higher. (Y/Nh was left with Steve, Natasha, Clint and Wanda at the church, who were debating on what else to do. (Y/N) did a mental note to check if the little children from before were alright.
"We gotta move out," Steve announced. "Even I can tell the air is getting thin. You guys get to the boats. I'll sweep for stragglers. Be right behind you."
"What about the core?" Clint asked, eyeing the vibranium structure in the center of the church.
"I'll protect it," Wanda offered herself. She looked back at Clint. "It's my job."
A shared understanding was visible between Wanda's and Clint's eyes, the latter nodding in respect. (Y/N) was uncertain to leave the girl alone, not because she believed she couldn't do it, but because she was afraid something might happen. She didn't have time to voice her hesitation since Clint called hers and Natasha's names to head back to the lifeboats.

"I know what I need to do," Clint spoke as they headed their way back to the lifeboats. He and Natasha rudely declined (Y/N)'s brilliant idea in carrying them back to the edge of the city, so they resulted in stealing a convertible and driving through the abandoned streets.
"The dining room," he continued. "If I knock out that east wall, it'd make a nice workspace for Laura, huh? Put up some baffling. She can't hear the kids running around, what do you think?"
"Is this the last remodeling you'd do on the house?" (Y/N) teased him, knowing that Laura had asked him the same thing before.
"If there's nothing else to fix, yes," Clint replied, not removing his eyes off the road.
"You guys always eat in the kitchen anyway," Natasha added her own opinion to the matter.
"No one eats in a dining room."
Clint stopped the car at a walking distance from the lifeboats, but just as they got close to the scene, the familiar roar from the Hulk rang through their ears. Natasha was one of the few who could lull the Hulk back into Bruce, so she was already unbuckling her seatbelt.
"We don't have a lot of time," Clint told them.
Natasha opened her door. "So get your asses on a boat."
(Y/N), along with Clint, made their way to one of the last lifeboats. The local police and the medics from S.H.I.E.L.D. were reassuring everyone that they were safe and that nothing would happen, while others were tending people's injuries or reassuring some of their losses.
(Y/N) searched for a free seat, and hoping that everyone else made it out. She wasn't sure if she could live with the guilt of knowing that someone didn't make it to the lifeboats in time.
The universe seemed to hear her thoughts. A blonde woman sat on the floor with a blanket draped over her figure and blood dried on her brow. She was deeply worried. "Costel!"
She called the name several times, looking for someone to hear her. "We were in the market."
From the corner of her eye, she saw Clint looking amongst the abandoned city with a set look. (Y/N) couldn't see what he was seeing from her point of view, but due to Clint's set jaw and how he ran back into danger, she knew he spotted the boy. She just hoped he would grab the boy and make it back safe and sound, but that wasn't the case.
Shots were fired from above, and she recognized the jet they had flew in with. (Y/N) knew who could possibly be firing down at the civilians, but that was the least of her worries. She saw how the jet flew through the street and didn't stop shooting, approaching the zone where Clint had the boy in his arms. (Y/N) set herself on doing something, so she flew in direction of the jet to stop who was firing,
Ultron saw her coming from inside the jet and gained altitude, flying away from the city. The dirt he had raised due to the shots was beginning to disappear, so (Y/N) was able to see what had happened between Clint and the boy. It certainly made her breath hitch, but for a very different reason.
Pietro was standing right before Clint, barely standing due to all the bullets pierced into his skin. They were everywhere. His chest, his stomach, his legs, even his shoulders. He had moved a car just in time to cover Clint, yet he ended up suffering for it. (Y/N) couldn't help but hurt for Wanda.
"You didn't see that coming?" Pietro muttered under his breath before his legs gave up.
He fell unconscious toward the ground, his eyes still open. (Y/N) would never be able to remove that sight from her head. With sorrow, she assisted in carrying Pietro's body as Clint carried the young boy back to the lifeboat. As much as it was reassuring to see the woman reunited with her son, she couldn't help but feel guilty because of the fallen hero.
(Y/N) sat back down in her seat in the lifeboat, and tried to block the metallic smell coming to her nose. Her hands were stained with blood, but it wasn't hers. She gulped down her nausea, and looked up to the sky to stop from getting emotional. The last few people were piling up the lifeboats, rushing for any sort of aid for their injuries; (Y/N) was sure she'd also seen a dog running to catch up with its owner.
Everyone was already on the boat and the others were already down at the surface, hopefully out of danger. What (Y/N) didn't expect, however, was to watch the city to give up and plummet down to the ground. The flying rock was falling toward the surface with an insane amount of speed, smoke covering the entirety of it. (Y/N) sure hoped that the plan Tony had in mind worked.
Her suspicions were correct, since she was able to watch how lightning blue and smoke covered the entire rock before it blew into pieces with a powerful blast. The enormous rocks that the city was exploded into fell into the lake, along with the remains of the buildings and houses in Sokovia.
(Y/N) let out a breath at the thought of it being over. No more Ultron, no more army of robots. She hoped this was the last battle they would be confronting, since she wasn't sure if she could handle any other losses.
