πSALVAGE YARD, AFRICAN COAST
ββββ±*.q:qβ±*.:qβ§*.qⰠβββ
The man they were looking for was inside one of the many cargo ships that were across the African coast, but it didn't take too long for the group to find him. The seven spread out through the ship to surround their enemy, and kept a quiet profile unlike other times. The stench of sweat, rusty old machinery and gas radiated through the entire ship and filled (Y/N)'s nostrils, a smell she'd be remembering for the rest of the day.
"Stark is. . .He's a sickness!" a robotic voice, a familiar one at that, exclaimed in anger and that's when they decided to announce their presence.
(Y/N) stood in between Thor and Steve, both men holding their respective weapons while she had her fists balled up if the situation called for it.
"Ah, Junior," Tony was the first one to speak, his voice inside the Iron Man suit and dropped to the floor with a thud. "You're gonna break your old man's heart."
Ultron turned at the sound of his voice and (Y/N) took in his appearance. He was much taller than before and his body was distinct than the Legionnarie one he was possessing before. The red light that represented his eyes was glaring up at them, and (Y/N) looked away just to see that he wasn't on his own. The twins she'd been informed about were alongside him, taking cautious steps next to Ultron.
"If I have to," Ultron taunted.
"Nobody has to break anything," Thor warned, trying to ease the situation down without violence.
"Clearly you've never made an omelet."
Tony turned back to look at (Y/N). "He beat me by one second."
She exchanged a quick frown with Thor on her right before focusing back on the people in front of her. But the attention of Tony's remark was suddenly forgotten when one of the twins, Pietro, moved forward from his spot and spoke up.
"Ah, yes. He's funny," the accent was easy to spot in his voice. "Mr. Stark. It's what? Comfortable? Like old times?"
(Y/N) saw him glance on the lower level of the ship, especially towards the place where missiles were stacked.
Tony lowered his head. "This was never my life."
"You two can still walk away from this," Steve took a cautionary step forward, his usual firm tone laced in his voice.
"Oh, we will," the girl, Wanda, responded and flashed him a sarcastic smile, mocking him.
"I know you've suffered β "
Ultron scoffed at this, interrupting Steve's sentence. "Captain America. God's righteous man. Pretending you could live without a war," he fake laughed at the silence he had caused the man. "I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but β "
"If you believe in peace, then let us keep it," Thor cut him off.
"I think you're confusing 'peace' with 'quiet'."
"Uh-huh," Tony spoke up again, before questioning him. "What's the vibranium for?"
"I'm glad you asked that, because I wanted to take this time to explain my evil plan."
Ultron raised his fist and a magnetic force pulled Tony from the chest and off his feet before he fired a laser out of his fingers, and three other robots took the opportunity to attack the remaining three of the group. Tony was able to recover from the blast and took off in the air, Ultron copying his movements and proceeding to fight in the air.
(Y/N) was able to turn the robot head away from her and punch a hole through its chest, making it shut down. The twins, who had been watching the small fight she, Steve and Thor were having with the robots, decided to take action. Pietro ran to Thor and knocked him off balance in a second, meanwhile Steve tried to advance toward Wanda and was thrown back with a red hue from her fingers.
(Y/N) saw how Wanda was preparing to do the same to her, but could read the hint uncertainty and conflict in her eyes. Hesitantly, she knew she had to strike first and fired a golden blast toward the girl, who was knocked off her feet because of it.
After that, gunshots rang through her ears and her attention was now fixed on Klaue's henchmen that were headed in her direction and were raising their guns at her. She raised an arm to block and dodge the bullets that were raining on her, scanning the area for a way to knock the majority of them out in a single blow.
She looked up to see how the rest of the team was handling the attack and was just in time to see Thor in an above floor, staggering in his step.
"Thor, you all right?" she dared to ask.
"The girl tried to warp my mind," he explained. "Take special care. I doubt a human could keep her at bay. Fortunately, I am mighty."
Silence followed in comms, and (Y/N) was about to speak again in worry for him but the men were getting closer and the range of their bullets got narrower to the point that she had to duck for cover. She couldn't call for help of any kind because her teammates were busy fighting off their own henchmen, so she concentrated in a solution. From the corner of her eye, she saw a crate a few meters away and read out what was written in it with red letters 'Hand Grenades. Explosive'. This made her smile, perfect.
(Y/N) stood up from cover and whistled to call the henchmen's attention, challenging them to fire at her. It worked, and the bullets kept flying all around her figure as she dodged them and ran away toward the direction of that crate. More bullets were fired, and at some point she fired a blast but at the higher level of the ship to remove the men out of Steve's back.
Once she got close enough to the crate, she stood right behind it and at that exact second, one of the henchmen fired one last bullet which flew directly toward the crate, exactly where she wanted it to go. In a swift motion, (Y/N) mustered all her strength and pushed the crate toward the henchmen, where it exploded.
The impact of the explosion knocked them all of their feet and they were out unconscious on the floor. Since (Y/N) was in a close distance to it, she staggered back a few feet and tried to regain her balance, ignoring her surroundings.
Pietro took this to his advantage and ran in her direction, throwing her off her feet into the hard ground. (Y/N) groaned in protest and got up to her knees, but felt a slight tug on her shoulder and saw Wanda by her side, a red hue shimmering out of her fingers and clouding her irises.
(Y/N) shook her head to resist the pounding of her head. "Nice try, kid."
In an act of stubbornness, (Y/N) got up to her feet and walked a few steps, not able to see how the twins shared a look of confusion between themselves, questioning to why she could still stand up after the effect. She did, however, feel their presence behind her and fired a blast blindly toward their direction, only being able to knock Wanda over since Pietro dodged it in full speed and pushed her again.
This time, the impact was much harder than before, and (Y/N) didn't have that much strength anymore to stand up to her full height. She closed her eyes in an attempt to stop her headache, but that was the worst decision she could've done.

"(Y/N)!"
She heard a voice call her name, but she didn't know where it was coming from. She found herself not in the cargo ship as she expected, but in some sort of beach. The sand covered her boots and the tall, green pine trees surrounded the entire area she was in. This looked oddly familiar, but she did not want to recognize it.
She shook her head frantically, trying to blink away from whatever this was. "No, no."
"(Y/N)," the masculine voice said her name again, but this time it sounded strained. It had pain laced on it, and her blood ran cold.
She followed the sound of that voice through the small beach but she wished she hadn't, because the sight in front of her made her recoil. Tony was laying on the ground, putting himself up by a rock on his back. His skin was baldly burnt, all the way from his hands to his face. Smoke emitted off him and the smell of burnt flesh stung her nostrils quickly.
(Y/N) knelt down in front of him and tried to question him but no words seemed to leave her mouth of out pure terror. A whimper escaped her lips, and she resisted the urge to touch his skin.
"You," Tony spat out blood as he spoke. "You. . .you did this. You caused this."
"No," (Y/N) shook her head in denial. "What are you talking about?"
"You brought them to us."
"No."
His weak hand grabbed her wrist. "This is all your fault!"
The light extinguished in his eyes and he dropped her wrist, head lolling to the side in a limp manner. (Y/N) couldn't resist a cry for her friend's name as she tried to shake him alive, but nothing happened and the heat from the burnt marks was starting to sting in her hands.
"Please, Tony," she tried. "Wake up."
"Vau," another voice called, firmer this time, and it sent a chill down her spine. It was taunting, and a smirk was visible in the tone. She thought she'd never have to hear that voice ever again.
Without thinking, (Y/N) turned around and was faced with the figure of Yon-Rogg behind her, eyes glaring at her like he did the last time she saw him. He was holding a blaster in his hand and was wearing the green Kree suit, it almost made her flinch.
"We said we'd find you, didn't we?"
'We'? (Y/N) wanted to ask, but her eyes suddenly noticed the several figures of her former Kree comrades surrounding the entire beach, all holding their weapons and pointed them directly at the unconscious figures on the ground. She squinted her eyes to get a better look at who those people were, and caught a glimpse of the fiery red hair underneath Minn-Erva's boots.
This time, not even her hands could muffle the horrified scream that left her lips, recognizing her teammates dead on the sand floor.
"Time to go home, Vau," Yon-Rogg spoke again, walking up closer to her. "You never belonged here."
(Y/N) balled her fists when she saw the Kree marching their way over to where she knelt, but saw that no spark came out. An evil laugh escaped Yon-Rogg's lips, and he joined the rest of his team in surrounding her completely.
"NO!" she punched the closest to her. "Stay away from me!"
She tried to hold onto something as they began to tug on her arms, grasping onto Tony's corpse because she did not intend to leave him there, but they were much stronger than her. They picked (Y/N) up by the arms, legs, and someone restrained her head as Yon-Rogg placed back the chip in the back of her neck.
She squirmed against their hold, but it was no use. Another cry left (Y/N)'s lips in an attempt for someone else to hear her, but no avail. She shut her eyes closed because of the pain the chip was causing her, and could not feel how she slowly started drifting into unconsciousness.

(Y/N)'s screams had echoed through the entire cargo ship, alerting Clint of her location after he had guided the rest of the team toward the jet. When he found her, he noticed how she was squirming out of an invisible grip and her eyes were slightly opening to reveal the red hue everyone else had.
"Shh, it's okay," he tried to lull her down. Clint wrapped her arm around his shoulders and rubbed them up and down to bring her out of whatever she was dreaming. "(Y/N), it's okay."
Sweat covered her forehead and she seemed to realize she was being restrained and began to fight back out of Clint's arms. He shushed her whimpers again and tried to even her breathing out. The rest of the team were usually staring at nothingness or just lost in their own head, but this was a new reaction. He wondered what she might be seeing that caused her to react this way.
"Vaughn, I could really use your help right now," Tony called in through comms.
"That's not gonna happen," Clint spoke up, trying to get (Y/N) up her feet. "Not for a while."
"The whole team is down."
so, there's that. i apologize for the long weeks without updating. school's been hard.
opinions on y/n's nightmare? please tell me what you think about it! mixed her fears with a traumatic part of her past and it might include foreshadowing :) if some of you are confused by what yon-rogg called her, remember how carol got her 'kree' name in the movie.
-see you soon, bex
