(Y/N)'s head was pounding due to all the stress that the Sokovia Accords brought into her life. She could've been just fine if that document hadn't found its way to her doorstep, and it would've probably saved her the dozens of decisions she had to make. It wasn't an easy task, especially when you're dating the most impatient man in the entire world, who was also in the middle of it all. She wanted all of this to be over in a snap of two fingers, but that was just a fantasy. Now she had to decide, whether people approved of her conclusion or not.

Word on the street was that the UN in Vienna β€” where the signing of the Sokovia Accords was taking place in β€” had been bombed by no other than Bucky Barnes himself. Knowing Steve, (Y/N) knew he'd be stubborn and try to move water and earth to prove his innocence without listening to anyone who tried to stop him, especially considering the tragic background his friend had. She would lie to you if you asked her, but (Y/N) could sympathize with Barnes; the terrifying idea of someone brainwashing you and twisting your own memories for their own benefit was something she was familiar with, and she knew how terrible it was.

(Y/N) also knew that Natasha had gone to Vienna in order to assist the meeting, so she was worried to hear if she got injured or not. Without thinking of the difference in time zones, she dialed her friend's cellphone and waited on the line until someone answered.

"Yes?"

(Y/N) was relieved to hear her voice, and she pressed a hand over her heart to stop it from pounding way too fast. "Oh, thank goodness. Are you okay? I heard what happened."

"Yeah, I'm okay," Natasha replied with shakiness in her tone, and there were police sirens in the background. "I was lucky."

"Good," (Y/N) felt a weight being lifted off her shoulders, and she was about to ask something else about her well-being when she was interrupted.

"Hey, have you heard anything from Steve?"

"Steve? No," she frowned at the mention of her friend's name. After he had left the room yesterday, she hadn't heard a word from him. "What about him?"

Natasha took a pause in her words, and there was quite the commotion in the background before she returned. "You and I both know how much he would risk to save Barnes."

"I do," (Y/N) sighed, suddenly checking her surroundings to see if someone else was eavesdropping on the conversation. "But why are you telling me this?"

"Because I'm not one of his favorite people right now," Natasha lowered her tone on the phone. "And you're on his side. Maybe you can tell him to back down before he does anything stupid."

(Y/N) pressed a hand against her forehead, that annoying pounding of the head returning. She scoffed at Natasha's request, knowing it might be impossible. Instead, she decided to change the subject. "Same thing goes for Tony, you know."

"I know," Natasha sighed deeply. "Have you talked to him since yesterday?"

"No," she replied, and a knot of anxiety tightened in her stomach. "He left before I woke up. Didn't leave a note or anything."

She sighed and he'd head still hadn't left her forehead. "What if I screwed up, Nat?"

"Why do you say that?"

"Maybe I messed up in disagreeing to the Accords," she rambled, her voice cracking. By now, she was certain her head was about to explode due to the stress. "You should've seen the look on his face when he realized I didn't back him up. What if I threw away the entire year we spent together because of one disagreement?"

"Okay, listen to me," Natasha's voice turned stern on the phone. "If I learned something about you all these years of knowing you, is that you don't let others influence the opinion you have on something. You analyze a situation and you draw a conclusion before expressing your opinion about it, and don't allow anyone else to change it."

(Y/N) didn't know where Natasha was going with this, but she stayed quiet to let her continue.

"What I'm saying is that you already made your decision, and even if Im not behind you on it, I respect it," Natasha concluded. "If Tony cares about you as much as I do, he will realize that about you and do the same. You don't have to throw away that part of yourself because of one single doubt."

(Y/N) felt herself smile at the phone, and she could imagine Natasha replicating the action. A weight was lifted off her shoulders, and even if there was a hint of fear to face Tony again because she wasn't the biggest fan of confrontation, she knew that her decision over the Accords wouldn't change.

"I don't know what I would do without you, Nat," she said to her redhead friend.

"Die and perish," Natasha teased, and she was certain that she was smirking over the phone. "Look, I gotta go. If you hear a word from Steve, don't hesitate to give me a call. I'll keep you updated."

"Got it."

And with that, she hung up. (Y/N) took a look around the area of the compound she was in, still trying to find if anyone was listening to her phone call, but didn't spot anything. Her original plan was to head back to her temporary room and lock herself inside for the rest of the day, but when a strong smell of food hit her nostrils, (Y/N) couldn't help but deviate and head her way over to the kitchen. She hadn't realized how hungry she was until the smell hit her, and her stomach grumbled in a way to insist on the food. She hoped it was something she liked, otherwise she'd be forced to go outside and buy something for herself, and she wasn't up for that today.

When she reached the kitchen, she found Wanda stirring a hot pot over the stove with Vision sitting across from her in a stool, sharing a quiet conversation between each other. A part of her softened at the sight of the unofficial couple, which was a topic that was always discussed whenever (Y/N) would check up on her teammates.

"You two lovebirds cooking dinner?"

Wanda and Vision both jumped up at the sound of her voice, startled by her sudden presence. It made (Y/N) chuckle at their innocence, especially with them being part of the newest members of the group.

"Vision here said he wanted to lift my spirits," Wanda explained to her, her usual accent slipping through her voice. Her hand was still holding onto the spoon that was stirring the pot.

"Oh, how nice of him," (Y/N) replied to which Vision smiled at the compliment and raised his shoulder in a shrug.

He was still sitting down on one of the stools and (Y/N) felt free to join him, her eyes flickering between them and noticed the tense atmosphere.

"I interrupted something, did I?"

"No, absolutely not," Vision did his best to reassure. He looked back to find Wanda's eyes and have her back him up. "We were just talking β€” "

"My powers," Wanda cut him off. Her eyes were casting downward to the pot, stirring it while avoiding gazes. "I was just wondering. . .Are you afraid of yours?"

(Y/N) wasn't expecting that question at all. "Oh."

"It was a stupid question, I shouldn't have β€” "

"I was," (Y/N) answered her prior question. She leaned her elbows on the table and Vision was staring at the side of her head with curiosity behind his eyes. "In the past. You see, after I got them, there were people who were pointing me toward their enemies and wanted me to take them down. Like a weapon. When I broke out of their control, I knew there was no way of getting rid of them, so I decided to use them on my own will. If I was still going to be out there in battles, I wanted to make sure I was fighting for the good guys."

"Is there a part of you that still doesn't want them?" Wanda asked with intrigue.

"I wouldn't have met you all without them."

Wanda avoided her eyes and cleared her throat, clearly overthinking (Y/N)'s words through. She thought it was best to change the subject. "I don't know what's in this but it is not paprika."

There was a hint of confusion in Vision's eyes, one that was mixed with embarrassment. Since he wasn't able to eat anything, he wasn't sure how food was supposed to taste in order to be good.

"I'm gonna go to the store," Wanda announced, cleaning her hands with the kitchen towel.

(Y/N) thought it would be a good idea to go outside, especially with company. "Mind if I go with you?"

"Not at all," Wanda shook her head. "We'll be back in 20 minutes then."

Before Wanda could take a step out of the kitchen, Vision phased at the speed of light and rapidly interfered in her way. He blocked her path in order to stop her from moving, and (Y/N) stood up from her stool with a questioning glance directed at Vision due to his actions.

"Alternatively, we could order a pizza?" he suggested, trying his best to get her to back down.

"Vision, are you not letting me leave?"

He lowered his head in shame, avoiding Wanda's eyes. "It is a question of safety."

"I can protect myself."

Vision placed his arm in front of Wanda to prevent her from moving, his hand resting on her arm. "Not yours."

"Vision, what do you mean?" (Y/N) was now deeply curious to this sudden act of overprotectiveness.

"Mr. Stark would like to avoid the possibility of another public incident," he explained, his eyes flickering between her and Wanda, as if he were referring to both of them. "Until the Accords are on a more secure foundation."

"He said that? I can't believe him," (Y/N) crossed her arms with a scoff. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and looked back at the couple. "Excuse me."

She walked away from the kitchen and dialed a familiar number on her phone, urging to know wherever Tony was around the globe so she could have a word with him. (Y/N) placed the phone to her ear and waited for the right time to speak, her sudden anger growing with every passing minute.

Maybe the unwanted confrontation was coming sooner than she expected.
