CHOOSING A FUNCTIONAL USERNAME

Usernames are more important than you might think. Technically, there are no rules for usernames, but these are my personal tips.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: I've noticed that I'm now kind of 'stuck' with my username and profile picture. Since my amount of followers has grown to crazy numbers, everyone recognizes me by my profile picture and username. This is why you have to choose your username carefully: it's a difficult decision to change it later on, unless you don't care about people not recognizing you anymore, if you know what I mean.

SIMPLE: Honestly, keep your username simple. If you're promoting your fanfics, people will be more motivated to search for you on Wattpad if you have a simple username (like mine, I guess?) instead of 'eifogkeoepgorjejfi'.

HOW TO KEEP IT SIMPLE:
- don't use too many random combinations of letters, numbers, or symbols.
- try to use real words.
- don't make it too long.
- I wouldn't always recommend replacing letters with other letters or with numbers (like turning an 'o' into a zero). You are 100% free to choose for yourself but others might not be able to find your username as easily.

WHAT KIND OF USERNAME: You can base your username off multiple things. Just your name, maybe your occupation (writer/reader), a fandom you're in, etc. Combine it with something else or make it creative somehow— whatever you want.
