Chapter 12 ~ Cannibals Kidnapped Us

Episode: Season 1 - The Benders Pt. 1

I stuck my hands in the pockets of my ripped jeans as I walked through the newly-deserted parking lot of the bar back to the Impala. Sam had insisted I take a nap before we hit the road again. He said it was for my health while Dean - dirtbag, that he is - said it was because of my sour mood when I woke up early.

"Whatever, I'll just go read Harry Potter while I wait on them. Ron, my love, here I come..." I said to myself cheerily as I opened the door to the backseat of the Impala and dug out the book.

Just then, I heard a crash to my left. I stopped dead in my tracks, reaching for the flashlight behind the seat. My brown orbs flicked from side to side, trying to find the source of the sound. Gently, I set the book down on the car. I squatted down on the ground then and peered under it. An orange tabby cat clawed out at me and I shrieked before laughing at myself.

I rolled my eyes as it scampered off. Little cutie.

"Parker?!" Sam's voice cut through the darkness and I saw him walking towards me.

"It's fine! Just a cat!" I called out to him.

I stood up then but something knocked me off my feet and everything went black. When I awoke some hours later, it was dark. Pure darkness met my eyes. I half wondered if my eyes were even open, it was so dark. My head pounded and I put a hand there. Pulling it away, my fingers came back dotted with blood.

I let out a hiss of pain and lied my head back down on the hard-packed earth, my eyes finally adjusting to the darkness. I scanned my surroundings and sighed. I was in a cage. Someone or something had kidnapped me. Well...thank goodness Dean wasn't here, I'm sure he'd have some smart remark about me being in cage. A sudden groan came from my left and I glanced across me to see Sam in the same predicament.

"Looks like we've been kidnapped, Sammy boy," I sighed, staring up at the bars above me.

Silence passed between us a moment before I broke it.

"Hey, Sam?" I called out.

A sigh.

"What, Park?" Sam responded.

"Do you have any Sour Punch Straws on you?" I asked him, feeling my tummy grumble with hunger.

"Parker, why would I?" he sighed and I could tell he was running a hand through his hair in agitation.

I shrugged from where I lay sprawled out on the floor.

"Just thought I'd ask..." I mumbled sadly, still thinking of sweets.

The next few hours were much the same. Although Sam did find a pipe that he pulled and pulled on before it broke free. A bracket clattered to the floor. But before I could say anything, the door to my cage popped open. My brown eyes widened in surprise and I grinned at Sam. I got up from the floor and slipped out of the cage.

"Maybe you knocked something loose!" I whispered to him excitedly.

"I think you should get back in there, Parker," Sam advised me but I just waved him off.

"It's fine, Sammy. Stop being such a stick-in-the-mud!" I told him, walking further into the room.

"That was too easy! Parker, please, just come back!" he called after me.

"Don't worry! I'll go get help. I'll get Dean." I said, slinking out the door just as the began to protest again.

Night had already fallen outside and rain was coming down by the bucket-loads as I squelched my way through the trees. The rain soaked me thoroughly, making ebony hair stick to my cheeks. Suddenly, I heard loud footsteps and the sounds of twigs breaking. Someone was after me. I began to run, raindrops threatening to cloud my vision. Muddy water splashed on the legs of jeans, wind whipping at my face.

A man jumped out at me then, a large spear in hand and I bit my lip, only a knife in my own hand. Not near enough match for that spear. He lunged at me but I slashed my knife at his arm. He let out a howl of pain and I smiled maliciously before sprinting away through the trees. My wet t-shirt clung to my body, specks of grime and dirt covering me already. Finally, I reached a small clearing in the dark copse of trees and I stopped a second to catch my breath.

I wish I never had. For in that moment, a sharp burning pain erupted in my leg. I let out a shrike of agony and my knees buckled underneath me. Glancing around, I realized I'd been speared. My cold stare met those of the strange men and he grinned wickedly, blood dripping from his arm, courtesy of moi.

"Nighty-night! he spat before hitting me in the head with the end of the spear.
