CHAPTER NINE

Chicago was interesting, to say the least. Margot didn't have any strong feelings toward the city other than the fact that she hated wind.

"Where are we going?" Stefan asked from the backseat of the car, watching as Klaus's hand spun on the wheel as they turned.

"We're going to see my 2nd favourite witch. If anyone can help us with our hybrid problem, it's her."

"Stefan! Stefan!" A sixteen-year-old Margot yelled as she ran down the stairs of their shared home.

"Yes?" Stefan answered as he wiped a drop of blood from his lower lip as he dropped a woman's body to the ground.

"Look!" She shouted excitedly as she turned herself invisible.

His eyes widened as he glanced around the room, "Where'd you go, sweetie?"

She only giggled as she continued to move around the room completely invisible. "Come find me!"

Klaus held open a door, letting Stefan and Margot enter the bar before he did. "Looks familiar, doesn't it?" He commented, glancing at the vampire.

"I can't believe this place is still here."

A woman walked out from the back, "You gotta be kidding me."

"So a hybrid walks into a bar, says to the bartender–"

The woman put her hand up, "Stop. You may be invincible, but that doesn't make you funny..." She paused, glancing at Margot, a scowl on her face, "Her kind aren't welcome here. You can wait outside."

Margot chuckled while Klaus and Stefan glared. She should've seen it coming. Witches hated siphoners. It was a fact. That didn't stop the sting though.

It felt like her father was standing right in front of her. She shouldn't be scared, she should be angry. Why is she scared? What's wrong with her?

Stefan's hand slowly moved down to hers as he restrained himself from killing the woman.

"My friend stays," Klaus warned the witch after he heard Margot's heart rate spike. Dead or alive, young or old, witches were a pain in his ass.

Gloria, the witch, looked Margot up and down, her eyes taunting her. "Alright. The abomination can stay."

"Nice to meet you too," Margot said sarcastically as she walked away, going behind the bar to make herself a much-needed drink.

She poured a couple of shots of vodka into a glass before adding orange juice and grenadine. Once she was done, she quickly downed the vodka punch before making another.

Soon enough, Stefan joined her, mixing a drink for himself and Klaus as he stood beside her. "You okay, sweetheart?"

She nodded as she mindlessly stirred her drink, mixing the contents to create a soft pink colour.

"Hey, how about when we're done here we get some pizza? I remember this one place in the 20s', it was amazing."

A smile tugged on her lips as she turned to look at him, sending him a small nod.

"That's my girl," Stefan said with a smile as he put his arm around her shoulders, her head leaning against his shoulder as he continued to make a drink for the hybrid across the bar.

He glanced at the pictures strung on the wall, frowning when one stuck out to him. He stared at the image in confusion as he tore it from the wall. Margot glanced down at the picture, a frown appearing on her face as well.

It was Klaus and Stefan. In the twenties.

"What is this?" Stefan asked, holding the picture up to the hybrid.

"Well, I told you, Stefan. Chicago's a magical place."

"But this is me. With you."

— — —

She was running as fast as her little legs could go through a forest. Dirt and mud covered her dress but she didn't care. Her father would be angry but that was the last thing on her mind as she reached him.

"I found you!" She yelled excitedly as she jumped on his back, the boy grunting out of surprise.

He grinned, his blue eyes lighting up as he spun her around, "You did! Good job, Ellie."

Ellie smiled brightly, showing off her missing two front teeth.

He gasped, "They fell out? Already?"

She nodded excitedly, "Does that mean the tooth fairy is coming tonight?"

"It sure does, little princess," He answered before tickling her, sending her into a fit of giggles.

"Kai! Kai!"

— — —

The three of them, now joined by Rebekah who Nik had just undaggered were in a luxury clothing shop just a few streets away from Gloria's bar.

"What do you think?" The blonde woman asked as she walked out of the dressing room, doing a spin before facing Margot.

The brunette looked her up and down before shaking her head, "Try this one, blondie."

Rebekah took the red dress from Margot's hands. "How do you find all the good ones?" She asked after looking at the dress and seeing its beauty.

"It's a talent. Now go try it on, I'll be waiting."

"What about you? Don't you want to try something?" Rebekah asked.

Before Margot could answer, Nik did, "Actually, there are a few things in your dressing room that I want you to try on, love... Hop to it."

Margot sighed before entering the empty dressing room only to see three boxes, delicately wrapped with dark red ribbons. She opened the first box, seeing a pair of black Louboutins. She rolled her eyes before moving to the next box, seeing a black silk dress.

Then there was the last box. It was black, rather than the other two which were white.

She almost laughed when she saw the contents of the box. It was black, much like the other gifts. It was a mix of lace and mesh, mesh covering the stomach, while lace covered the chest.

Before she could even attempt to put on the strappy article, her phone dinged.

'Wear it tonight, love'

It was from Nik, of course. Who else would send her that?

She rolled her eyes but put on the one piece nonetheless before putting her normal attire on overtop. She wasn't going to wait until tonight. She was still pissed from meeting Gloria and she needed to let off some steam.

The easiest way to do that was to fuck the hybrid with a nice body.

'Does it fit?'  Said the next text she received.

'Like a glove. Though I think we both know we won't be waiting until tonight.'

'Once we're done with the witch, we're going to a hotel. Room 228, floor 17.'

'And my father and Rebekah?'

'1st floor. If they hear anything they'll think it's a random couple.'

'Good.'

Margot exited the dressing room, her plain green t-shirt covering the garment underneath it as she walked over to Stefan who was peacefully drinking champagne on a couch.

"Hey, sweetheart," He muttered as he glanced up. He was in a pissy mood.

"Hey, dad," She answered as she moved to sit by his side.

The vampire glanced out the window, his eyes widening slightly at the sight before looking back at Margot, "I'm gonna get some air."

Before he could leave, she grabbed his hand, "I'm going to. I think my head is about to explode."

As the father and daughter walked out of the shop, they crossed the road where a certain doppelganger stood.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Stefan asked, still holding onto Margot's hand.

"You three look chummy. Is Klaus your new bestie?"

"You know, if he finds out you're in Chicago, you're dead," Margot said as she glanced around, chuckling as she watched someone trip on air.

"Happy to know that you still care. So tell me if I'm wrong... Rebekah's necklace that Klaus is looking for... That's the necklace that you gave to Elena."

Stefan rolled his eyes, "Goodbye, Katherine."

The vampire grabbed his arm before they could turn to leave, "Hey, hey. Wait. You two are up to something, tell me..."

"They don't know where the necklace is. I just have to keep them from figuring it out. I have it all under control."

"Please, tell me you have a better plan than that... You do. Come on, Stefan. You're not the diabolical type. Whatever you're planning, it's not going to work."

"Well, if the most diabolical woman I know can't seem to figure it out, then I must be doing something right," Stefan retaliated.

"Uh-huh. I forgot. You're bad now. Don't get too cocky. Klaus is smarter than you. He's smarter than everyone. And I've heard about that sister. Be careful. She'll ruin you. You should be careful too, Maggie. He's a dangerous guy."

"Happy to know you still care," Stefan said before leading his daughter away from the doppelganger.

— — —

Margot sat on the floor, eating a burger while the Original vampires and Stefan snacked on a few girls from a frat house down the street.

Said vampires had just gotten back from Gloria's bar. The woman hadn't gotten very far, only telling them that the person who was in possession of Rebekah's necklace was a girl and she had two friends. Safe to say Rebekah wasn't very happy.

Klaus glanced over at the girl, noticing a heartbroken look on her face as she stared down at the empty wrapper.

"What's wrong, love?"

She glanced up at him before whispering, "I'm still hungry."

He sighed, how could someone so hot be so adorable? "I'll take you to-"

"I'll do it! I mean, she is my daughter," Stefan said, cutting the hybrid off.

Margot glanced over at Klaus, seeing a needy look on his face before smirking, "I'm sure I'll be fine with my dad. Why don't you go back to your sorority girl? Looks like she still has some blood left in her."

The hybrid sucked his teeth as he looked at her with a look she couldn't comprehend. It looked as though he wanted to kill her, fuck her or... buy her a boat? She couldn't tell which. She was hoping for the boat though, she always wanted one.

— — —

"There you are," Gloria said as Margot and Stefan entered the bar.

Stefan looked at her, "Thought you were resting."

The witch smirked, "Well, now we both have a secret."

"What did you see?" Margot questioned as she moved away from her dad, grabbing a bottle of bourbon before taking a sip.

"It's what I heard that's interesting. You know, the girls with the necklace, they were talking about both of you. One of them seems to have quite the affection for the abomination oddly enough."

"Just because you don't have men and women lining up to date you doesn't mean you have to be jealous, sweetheart. I'm sure you'll find someone... even with that bad hairdo."

The witch sent her a forced smile while Stefan spoke up, "Why didn't you tell Klaus?"

"Cause' I wouldn't help that hybrid half-breed with anything. The necklace is a talisman from the original witch herself. I want it."

"Well, I'm sorry. I can't help you," Stefan argued as he moved closer to Margot.

"Don't be difficult. You know, I'd hate to have to tell Klaus what a liar his sidekick is and... whatever she is is."

Stefan sped over to her only for him to grab his head in pain as he fell to the floor.

Margot stared in shock as she watched her father pass out from the pain, however before she could do anything, her vision went foggy.

The witch grinned, "Now I didn't know which bottle you'd go for so I doused them all with a little sleeping powder, nothing too dangerous, don't worry."

The siphoner breathed deeply as she held onto the bar, her legs shaking as her vision went black. Gloria quickly caught the girl before she fell to the floor before she strapped her onto a table.

"Guess I've got to get it out of you two the hard way, huh?"

Margot groaned as she opened her eyes. All she could see were the ugly tiles on the ceiling of the bar. She sighed, glancing to her left only to see Stefan, bound to a table, blood dripping from wounds on his wrists.

"This is creepy, even for me," She commented, seeing candles laying on the floor around them as Gloria continues to cut into Stefan earning groans from the man.

"What is this? Why can't I move?" Stefan asked, his eyes wide as the witch put a clamp into one of the slits in his wrists, keeping it from closing.

"Relax. It's just a little paralysis spell. Nothing major. Just got to get the information out of your pretty little head. You know, witches nowadays, they're into that new age stuff, but...I'm a little more old-school voodoo."

Stefan grunted as his blood poured into bowls on the ground. "Why Margot? What do you want with her?"

"She is your motivation," The witch explained as she walked closer to Margot, grabbing onto her hair as she pulled up her head, "See, if you don't tell me, I'll hurt her. I'll start slow, keep it to the less major arteries before moving on to the bigger things."

"He won't tell you anything," Margot groaned out, before a small smirk appeared on her face, "How'd you know I liked to have my hair pulled?"

Stefan groaned, "Seriously, Margot?"

She shrugged, "You raised me to tell the truth, what did you expect?"

Gloria rolled her eyes before grabbing a small knife and stabbing it into Margot's thigh. The girl hissed in pain, "That's it? Come on, you gotta do better than that."

The witch scoffed. She hated overly confident people. "I will kill her if you don't tell me, Stefan."

Margot glanced over at him, sticking her tongue out, playing dead as Gloria stabbed her in the stomach.

The vampire had to stop himself from laughing. Of course his daughter would make fun of their torturer.

"You know this is pretty kinky. Didn't know you had a thing for father-daughter duos," She commented as she smiled at the witch. "I mean I get it, we're hot but come on, it's a little too incesty for me."

Gloria scoffed before holding a knife down to her throat, "Shut up."

"Dominant are we? Reminds me of my ex-girlfriend, man was she good in bed."

If Stefan wasn't temporarily paralyzed he would've kicked her for that. He did not want to know about her sexual endeavours with Brie.

"If you don't tell me, Stefan, I'll kill her and then I'll go into your head. It's not a good feeling, trust me."

Gloria sighed. It had been an hour of torturing Margot and all she had gotten was dirty jokes and a bloody bar. "I'm impressed. You've got discipline, Margot. It's not going to do you much good, but...Just let go, honey."

Margot groaned as a knife entered her shoulder before it was pulled out only to be shoved back in.

Stefan opened his mouth to say something only for Margot to shake her head.

"There you go, there you go. Come on, Stefan, tell me."

"Don't do this. Don't do this," Stefan groaned, feeling the witch enter his head.

"The girl I saw earlier... She's the doppelgänger. She's supposed to be dead, and that's why Klaus can't make hybrids, isn't it?" The witch said with a laugh as she walked back over to Margot, holding a knife against her heart.

"Come on, answer me, Stefan. Or I'll have to do something none of us want."

Margot grinned as blood poured out of her mouth, "Oh please, you've been wanting to do this since the moment you met me."

"I hate to say it, but you're right," The witch answered before stabbing the knife into Margot's heart. Stefan screamed as he heard his daughter take her last breath. "No, no, no. Maggie! No." He whispered, his voice defeated as he fought against the paralyzation and restraints.

"This is creepy," A voice spoke up from the doorway. "You killed my little witch. I liked her."

"Katherine," Stefan whispered, unable to take his eyes off his dead daughter's body.

Gloria turned only for her heart to be pulled out of her body and thrown to the other side of the room.

"Maybe you do need my help, after all," Katherine said as she pulled the restrictions off of him before moving over to Margot. She sighed when she didn't hear a heartbeat.

Stefan stood from the table, speeding over to Margot, his hands going to lift her head, "Hey, hey, Maggie. Come on, wake up, sweetie. Please, baby. Just open your eyes," He sobbed as he held onto her.

Katherine sighed, glancing at the blood that was slowly drying around the girl's lips before grabbing a cloth, and wetting it before wiping the blood off of her face. "I don't say this very often but I'm sorry, Stefan. Even if she was a bit of a bitch, she didn't deserve this."

What the two vampires didn't know was that Margot had vampire blood in her system and was slowly becoming the monster her father always said she was.

— — —

"What's wrong with him?" Klaus asked as he walked inside the warehouse, noticing Stefan sitting on the floor, while Rebekah sat across from him.

"I don't know. He hasn't said a word since he got here. Somethings wrong."

"Obviously," Klaus answered as he walked over before kneeling in front of Stefan, "Where's Margot? I thought you were bringing her out for lunch?"

Tears filled the man's eyes earning confused looks from the Originals. "What happened to her, Stefan?" Klaus asked, his voice tense as he held onto Stefan's jaw tightly.

"Gloria..." He whispered as a tear fell from his eye.

"What did Gloria do, Stefan?"

"She- She killed her. She killed her and I couldn't do anything to stop it."

Klaus stared at him. "Where is Margot?"

Stefan gestured his hand to the other room, one filled with couches and coffins.

The hybrid quickly stood before speeding into the room only to see Margot's bloody body lying on a couch. If it wasn't for the blood he would have thought she was merely sleeping.

He let out a sigh as he moved to sit beside her, moving a strand of hair out of her face.

Even in death, she still managed to look stunning.

He took one last look at her before leaving the room, "She'll be fine. She had my blood in her system. Now, why would Gloria kill her?"

Stefan stared up at him. "She's gonna be okay?"

"Why did Gloria feel the need to do this? What did she find?"

"Nothing. She did it because Margot's a siphoner. Witches hate siphoners, you know that. You saw the way she looked at Margot when she entered the bar."

"She wouldn't kill her for that. She knew Margot was with me. She knew I would kill her in a second if she touched one of my comrades. Now tell me the truth, Stefan, or I'll kill her for good."

He was lying. He would never lay a hand on Margot... not to kill her at least. Stefan didn't know that though.

"I-" He paused. Margot or Elena. His daughter or the woman he loved. It didn't take him long to make the decision. He would pick her over anyone.

"Elena's alive. You didn't kill her during the ritual. She's fine, living her life to the fullest in Mystic Falls."

Klaus grinned, patting Stefan's back, "There, that wasn't so hard, was it? Snap his neck, we're leaving tonight."

"Wai-" Before he could finish the word, Rebekah snapped his neck, leaving him dead on the floor.

"What are we gonna do with Margot?" The blonde woman asked as they walked away from Stefan's body.

Klaus smiled as he heard a new heartbeat, "I'll deal with her. You go start the car and take Stefan with you. Margot and I will be a moment."

"What are you gonna do to her?" Rebekah asked as she threw Stefan over her shoulder.

"We're going to have a little chat, her and I."

Her head ached. Her whole body did. Everything was loud, the cars outside, a man yelling at another across the street, even her own heartbeat was loud.

The fluorescent light shone down on her, she hated it, it was too bright. She groaned as she sat up, holding onto the couch for support.

It was at that moment that Klaus decided to walk in, "Morning, love."

"What's wrong with me? Am I hungover again?" She grunted as she leaned her head against the back of the couch, her eyes screwed shut.

"To my knowledge, Gloria killed you while you had my blood in your system. And now, you're a hybrid freak just like myself."

"You're not a freak, Nik. You're just different," She answered, still unable to open her eyes.

"Here, drink this," He said, his heart skipping a beat at her words as he handed her a blood bag.

She glanced up at him unsurely.

"You can do it, love."

"What if-"

He stared down at her, grabbing her chin with his hand, forcing her to look at him, "There are no what if's when it comes to you, my love. You will be incredible, the best heretic the world has ever seen."

She smiled slightly, her mouth opened slightly as she stared up at him through her lashes. The look, god that look killed him.

"Stop looking at me like that, love. I should be mad at you. I should not be thinking you're the most beautiful woman I've ever met."

She grinned as she took a sip of the blood. Everything changed with that single sip. Everything was clear, including the thing she wanted most in that moment.

She stood up, throwing the empty blood bag on the floor as she moved closer to him. Her finger trailed up his chest, tracing his jaw as she stared up at him with a look of desire.

"Nik..." She trailed off, her voice was seductive as he looked down at her.

"Margot," He whimpered at her touch. "Why did you lie to me?"

"I never promised you the truth, Nik. I only promised you my body. Now it was you who broke our deal... My little hybrid has been a naughty boy, snapping my father's neck and all. I should punish you..."

Klaus breathed out. The things she did to him. The things she could do to him. "What are you going to do to me?"

"Well, I could kill you... or I could sleep with your sister. It's whichever you prefer."

"She wouldn't..." He whispered, though his voice was unsure.

"We both know that's not true, Niklaus. Make your choice."

When he stayed silent, she sighed. "I'll make it for you then," She whispered into his ear before walking off, "Rebekah!"

The hybrid sped over to her, grabbing onto her arm before speeding her against the wall, "Kill me. Kill me, love."

She smirked. "Get on your knees and beg."

Klaus stared at her, his eyes filled with an unknown emotion.

"Go on or do you want me to fuck your little sister? We both know I will. And we both know she'd love it."

He exhaled sharply before doing what she asked. So there he was the hybrid king on his knees for a heretic.

"Now beg," She said, her hand cupping his face as she stared down at him. She almost pitied him, keyword being almost. If anything she loved this. Seeing a man on his knees, ready to do whatever she asked.

"Kill me, Margot. Please, do whatever you want to me. Just don't touch Rebekah, you are mine, not hers. You aren't hers to touch, so please, kill me. I'll do whatever you want, anything."

"Anything?" She trailed off, a small smirk on her face. He was right where she wanted him.

"Anything."

She grinned, placing her hands on his shoulders as she kneeled in front of him. They were at the same level now.

"Good boy," She whispered into his ear before she began to siphon him.

He grunted, staring into her eyes as hers turned a dark blue, a small smirk on her face. She liked seeing him in pain. Maybe her father was wrong when he said she wasn't a sociopath.

"Margot," He grunted as he breathed heavily.

"Nik," She said with a smile as she continued to siphon him. He was getting weak. They both knew it.

"Wanna get dinner after this? The outfits a little bloody but I'm sure we can make it work," She suggested as his breaths became shaky.

"Ye- Yes."

"What was that?" She questioned, a small smirk on her face as he fell to the ground, practically unable to keep his eyes open as his heart slowed.

"We- We can make it work. If not- If not I- I'll buy you a ne- a new one."

"That's right, baby. Now, where is that pesky little credit card?"

He was barely breathing now. "Pocket- front pocket."

She grinned as she pulled out his wallet, taking a few of his hundred-dollar bills and stuffing them in her bra. "Thank you for your cooperation," She whispered as he took his last breath.

A/N

Fuck she's hot and a heretic. Good combination if you ask me.
