I sat in the Olympian Hall, surrounded by the silence since Haruki left to chase the twins and there's was only a couple of students this break. My nose was buried in a worn-out copy of The Iliad, a gift from the high council Sir Haru. The ancient tome was a source of comfort and a reminder of the world I belonged to - a world unseen by mortal eyes.
Suddenly, the seat beside me creaked under the weight of someone new. I looked up to see Haruki, the demigod son of Nemesis, sliding into the seat. His face was serious, a stark contrast to his usual carefree demeanor [to his fellow dorm mates and situationship, he is a bit of an asshole to others]. I raised an eyebrow and turned a page on my book, but he still has my attention. "You look mad," I said, curiosity piquing. "What's the new problem again?"
Haruki scoffed, running a hand through his dark hair. "It's Park Raewoo again," he grumbled, referring to a hot-headed demigod from our dorm. "That guy never knows when to calm the fuck down. Maybe I should try breaking his arm once."
I chuckled, turning a page without looking. "Well, you two aren't far from different," I said. "You get mad easily, too."
Haruki shot me a glare even though I wasn't looking, I knew Haruki since the day I got here. "I get mad for justice, not because I can't control my emotions." He argued before I cut him off.
"Besides," I added, "Raewoo isn't that bad. He just needs to learn when to control his temper. Sir Haru could teach him."
Haruki rolled his eyes, but he didn't argue. Instead, he started talking about school duties, his voice low and thoughtful. As he spoke, I felt a cold whisper in my ear. I turned to see a ghostly figure of a girl around 15 years old, her face twisted in a malicious grin. "The people from the Home of Hestia Dorm are looking at you," it hissed. "Naomi is pointing at you."
I looked over and sure enough, Naomi, the demigod daughter of Apate, was pointing at me. When she noticed me looking, she subtly gave me the middle finger. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes and instead, flipped her off in return. She huffed and turned away.
Haruki followed my gaze and scoffed. "Lee's making up rumors again. Ignore her."
I couldn't help but let out a snort. "She's just a bitch who thinks she can do whatever she wants."
Haruki nodded in agreement, turning his attention back to me. "Back to school problems-"
Haruki started yapping and complaining about his school duties because he is a prefect of our dorm. He was mostly doing all the talking, because I was engrossed in the book I was reading. But my happiness was short-lived as the ghostly whisper returned, this time revealing that there was a new student, an undetermined demigod and is with Naomi and Yue, students in HOME OF HESTIA, according to the girl.
I couldn't help but feel a twinge of curiosity. I glanced up towards their table and sure enough there's a new one around here, he gave us a tight lipped smile before looking back at the girls in front of him, hopefully he doesn't get Lee Naomi's virus.
Haruki was still watching me with a bemused expression. "What is it?" he asked.
"Nothing," I replied, shaking my head. "New kid who is currently with Lee, hope he doesn't obtain the Lee Virus."
Haruki shrugged. "It doesn't matter, I trust Yue to be the vaccine."
"Speaking of new stuff," I shut the book I was reading. "Heard about Aether Lee? There's a rumor that he kept a hidden place under the school."
The son of nemesis looked at me weirdly, "Dude, there's always rumors about him, everyday to the point my fingers can't even count how many."
I shrugged, "You never know."
