      "GIRLFRIEND?!" everyone, minus Kuroo, shouted in pure shock and awe.

       Kenma blinked a few times while Shoko just smiled softly. His hand remained on top of her head while the two just stared at their flabbergasted faces.

      "It's not that big of a deal," Kenma deadpanned. "I'm a little insulted that you all are this shocked about me dating someone."

      "HOW COULD YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND BEFORE ME?!" Yamamoto cried, tears swigging down his face as he dramatically gripped his own chest. "I-ITS NOT FAIR! IF THIS BLONDE LONER COULD GET A GIRLFRIEND, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!"

      "I can think of a lot of things you do wrong." Kenma shot back, glaring at him a little.

     Shoko giggled, nudging her boyfriends arm a little. "Kozu-chan, be a little nicer, will ya?"

     "No," he replied, not even looking at her.

     "We're just shocked that you associated yourself with someone else outside of this team and outside of your video games," Yaku explained, smiling a little nervously. "But anyways, it's nice to meet you, Nakagawa-san. It's especially nice to see someone who was able to bring Kenma back into the real world."

    "He's told me about all of you, actually." Shoko said, smiling at all of them. "He said that you all are a bunch of idiots but he loves you all."

     "Yeah, that's sounds like Kenma." Lev chuckled out. "I'm Lev Haiba, you can just call me Lev."

     "Names Kai Nobuyaki," Kai introduced himself kindly. "So nice to meet you, Nakagawa-san."

     "I'm Yuki Shibiyama," Yuki added on.

     "Shōhei Fukunaga, please to meet you," Shōhei said, bowing respectfully.

     "And I'm Taketora Yamamoto," Yamamoto shoved Shōhei out of the way, grabbing Shoko's hand. "Your friendly neighborhood boyfriend material, at your servic-"

        BONK! Yaku hit him on top of his head hard, making him fall to the ground. "Stop being weird! That's Kenma's girlfriend! Have some respect!"

     Shoko giggled at all of them, thinking they were the most hilarious bunch in the world. "Kozu-chan didn't tell me how funny you all are."

   "That's because they're not," Kenma deadpanned again, giving them all a blank look in his eyes.

   "Aww, Kenma, we're not that bad," Kuroo chuckled out, circling his arms around both him and Shoko. "Kenma, actually, introduced me to Shoko last year and it's been nothing but smooth sailing ever since."

   "More like you forced me." He mumbled, trying to inch away from his arms. "Anyways, as I was trying to tel you all, I had plans with Shoko after school."

   "What we're you two going to do for his birthday?" Lev asked curiously.

   "I was going to take him to the same Cat cafe we had our first date in for his birthday," Shoko explained, tucking a piece of her long hair behind her ear. "Kozu-chan loved it so much, I thought it would be a great place to celebrate his birthday. But if you all already had plans, I can totally-"

   "No, stay." Kenma cut her off, grabbing her elbow gently. "Please don't leave me with these vultures."

   "Oh nice!" Kuroo hummed, "Now that we know you, you should join us!"

    "Wait, we're really doing this?" The birthday boy deadpanned, thinking they were joking. Or more like hoping they were joking.

   "Hell yeah we are!" Lev boasted, smacking the back of his shoulder. "Like we said, coach is letting us leave early for this so there's no way out of it."

     "Where are we going?" Shoko asked, suddenly excited about their new plans.
  
    Much to Kenma's dismay. "Don't encourage them."

   "We're taking Kenma to this restaurant he's said he's always wanted to go. It's near the Shibuya passing." Yaku explained. "We hung out there one weekend and he said it looked interesting."

    "Oooooh, Kozu-chan has mentioned someplace there before." Shoko mumbled, remembering their past conversation.

    He mentioned it in the middle of a game of Mario Kart with her two weeks ago. He said he has heard of the place and wanted to stop by with her some day. So she thought this was the perfect opportunity to go. And on his birthday, too.

   "That sounds like fun~" Shoko's light eyes glittered with cheer as she smiled at them adorably.

    Such an action made them all pause and widen their eyes. Their faces turned pink as they gazed at her with amazement. They have never seen such a cute girl such as herself ever in their lives before. Her smile just radiated sunshine energy and they felt like they needed sunglasses while looking at her.

   "So cute." They all mumbled in unison.

    But their gazes stopped when they noticed Kenma was shooting them a very ferocious and scary glare. While her aura was sweet and sunny, his was dark and fearful.

     This was the first time they have ever seen Kenma act jealous in any way. And it scared them. Almost as scary as when he gets serious during a volleyball game.

    "Ahem! anways, you wanna join us for our practice and then go with us?" Yaku spoke up first, shaking the blush from his face.

    Shoko gave him a sunny grin as she tilted her head to the side a little. "Of course~!"

       All throughout practice, Shoko would cheer Kenma on wholeheartedly. And it didn't matter what he did. He successfully blocked a spike, she's on cheerleader mode. His receive got a bit better, she's cheering loudly. Even if he was only doing practice games, she's there with an awestruck smile.

    To her, Kenma was the coolest guy in the world and her heart raced as she watched him do something he actually loved doing. Even if he didn't always express it. Volleyball became a part of his life and he wholeheartedly accepted it. Secretly, though.

    It was also a funny sight to see Shoko, all smiles and happiness, stand next to their coach, Nekomata, who was stoic and serious as he watched everyone. Also, it was very amusing to see Kenma get all awkward and flustered at his girlfriend's cheering.

    He told her how much he hated getting attention drawn to him. But he knew that she couldn't help it. Shoko has always been a hyperactive and sunny girl. It was one of the things he really liked about her. How she can fill him with hope and happiness. It was a strange feeling but he loved her for it, anyways.

    After practice, the boys hurried to the locker room. Barely giving Kenma enough time to even think about kissing his girlfriend, sadly. But they were more happy to get out of practice an hour early. They didn't want to wait for their manager to change his mind.

    Once everyone was dressed, they drug Kenma out of the gym together. Shoko, being a smiling ball of sunshine, just carried her cake and followed behind closely. On the way to the resturaunt, they couldn't not stop asking Shoko all sorts of questions about herself. But mainly, they wanted to know how she ended up dating Kenma.

    "What type of magic do you have?" Yamamoto asked. "Anytime we try to get him to open up to us, he acts like a grumpy cat. I swear one time, I asked for his favorite color, he hissed at me!"

    Shoko giggled into her tiny fist as Kenma blushed, burying his nose into his phone. For the record, he didn't hiss at him. Yamamoto kept following him around, asking him useless questions and he finally snapped a little at him. That's what really happened.

    "Kozu-chan is like a cat, huh?" She agreed a little. "He'll receive affection whenever he feels like. But Kozu-chan and I met online. We just started playing Mario Kart together and from there, we just kept talking."

    "You make it sound so easy." Yaku chuckled, shaking his head a little. "Our Kenma barely likes uttering more than three words at a time."

   "Well, now we know who to call when we want him to do anything." Kai joked, nudging Lev.

   Who chuckled along with him. "Yeah, it will make him a lot less lazy during practice."

    "You're the king of laziness, Lev." Kenma retorted back, lifting his glaring eyes at him.

   Shoko laughed at all of them. Seeing them this close was heartwarming to her. She had no idea that Kenma was really this close to his teammates. Any time Shoko would ask him about Nekoma, he would tell her about each member but would always keep details out. He wasn't someone who showed affection boldly to anyone, not even her. But when he did or when she knew he was only doing that to hide his true happiness, it was so cute to see.

   She was happy she got to meet his volleyball team. It was him opening up to her even more. Uncovering who he really was and she was grateful of every little opening he gave her.
