▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

There she was, born under a glazed full moon, met with cold blue slits upon her own. Her mother was utterly disgusted on what she had borne. She did not want a girl, she wanted a boy, not some weak, fragile thing she could break so easily. It was a good thing her husband agreed to it too.

Chiyo was absolutely dumbfounded when she heard she was going to have a girl. How could she run a business like her parents? She would be utterly useless. Having to lounge around all day, in the luxury of her own home, while her parents work full time, nonstop just to provide her with food. A son would have been a blessing from Buddha. Not only that, but he could take over their business, make it his, marry a smart and rich wife, and have their own family, because men were responsible, wise, and especially charming. But a girl? She couldn't stop thinking about it. A girl?!

A small squeak was heard from behind, as another woman peered from behind, making the floorboards creep which each approaching step.

"Chiyo-sama, your husband will come in some time. He is currently arranging some bets on the final round of your underground business. He told me to ask you, but what will you name this child of yours?"

"Tch, who cares about her name. Think of one yourself. Let me be and you take care of the child."

She handed her baby over to the maid, who was just sent to deliver a small message, now tasked with handling a child. She carefully rocked her side to side, hoping not to startle the baby, who had just fallen asleep by the time she arrived in her hands.

"But Chiyo-sama!"

"Tch. Be quiet. It's best if you start doing what you were told to do."

By then, she had left the room, and slid the doors shut in front of her caregiver. How was she supposed to take care of someone's baby? She wasn't even qualified to handle children yet, let alone some woman with nerves?? She'd quickly place the child on the small futon, wrapping it with multiple layers of blankets to keep her warm.

"Chiyo-sama..."

Her eyes fixed on the bundle of joy she was tasked with, now moving and wriggling to find comfort in her sleep. She looked so pretty against the harsh bright moonlight.

"Oh, a name... let's see."

She wandered around the room, coming up with various names that sounded reasonable enough for her master to like. Would Miyako-san work? Would the master like it? The name meant 'Beautiful night' and would be partially reasonable, due to the baby's overwhelming beauty. Never mind, Miyako-san it is.

"Hello Miyako-san! I'm Hana-chan! I will take care of you since your mothers busy. I will cook you food, clean you, and spend time with you! Would you like that?"

The baby continued its peaceful sleep, only arriving at a small hum, probably because of a dream she was experiencing. Was she too young to be dreaming?

Oh, how much she pitied the baby. Soon, she knew, another would be born, to satisfy both her parents. If another girl was born, she was sure they would enrol her into the underground arena they both own. How was some innocent and pure child supposed to fight against blood hungry fighters? They would never hesitate on some opportunity like this, they would think it would lure in more customers to bet and watch! Oh, how horrid they were. The only reason why she kept working under them as their maid was because of the money they would pay their workers, especially ones who do their job well enough that they notice.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

"Hana. Please take care of Miyako again. I am terribly busy with some business me and my husband are currently working on, it looks as if one of our contestants wants to dip in on the fight..."

"Yes Chiyo-sama."

"Ma-ma..."

"Don't worry! Hana-chan will take care of you again!"

The two girls were led out to the garden, filled with the many scents of flowers her master had carefully picked, just to look good whenever she was outside. Hana chose a small pink flower, and laid it on Miyako's hair, a faint smile plastered on her face as she watched the 5-year-old pick a few more flowers, ones that resemble lilies and tulips, and a few daisies.

"Hana-chan, this is for you!"

"Ah! Thank you Miyako-san!"

The held the flowers in a small bouquet, bringing it up towards her caregiver. A small laugh escaped her mouth as she received them, propping one of her extra hair stands to the side of her hair to better see the child.

"Hana-chan! Do you like it?"

"Mhm! Thank you for your wonderful gift! You should make one for your mother!"

"Would Mama like if I made some too?"

"I'm sure!"

"Ok Hana-chan!"

There she ran off again, collecting a new set of flowers for her mother, gathering ones especially of the colour pink, since it was her master's favourite colour.

"Hana-chan, is this pink, or red?"

Hana went up to Miyako, inspecting the flower brought upon them, and on closer inspection, was a small red spider lily. She wondered to herself, remembering that her master wasn't fond of these flowers, especially blue ones, so why was it here all of a sudden? She'd watch the child gather more flowers, using a small leaf she found on the ground to tie it all up into bouquet, done up with a ribbon in the front, and handed to Hana. She'd pat the child head, telling her she made a great job of picking ones she thought her master would like, while contemplating whether to dispose of the spider lilies or not.

"Oh, Hana-chan! I forgot!!"

Miyako grabbed a quick flower, a small spider lily to be exact. Blue. She knew Hana's favourite colour was blue, just by seeing how many times she'd sign notes with a special blue ink, but one of the spider lilies? What if her master saw this?

"So lovely- thank you Miyako-san!"

"No problem!"

"I'm gonna find mama! Wait until we can find the cat again soon!"

The child hurried back inside, her gift still at hand rushing to her mother's room, while Hana, standing out, watching her do so, dropped the spider lily on the ground, stomping on it with her okobo, hoping the master wouldn't spot her holding it before she did so. She cleaned up her robe, laced with beautiful patterns of flowers, as she hurried for the girl, making sure her shoes wouldn't have made the floors all dirty. Her master, or the child's mother surely wouldn't want that.

"I'm sorry Miyako-san..."

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

It was another late night, as she helped Miyako pull out her pins from her long blonde hair, getting ready for her sleep. Both were sitting on Miyako's futon, as Miyako complained wildly about how her mother had scolded her for leaving her shoes on in the house, presumably because she was in a rush to find her mother so she could give her gift. She did give it, but her mother, as you may have guessed, wasn't amused.

"Miyako-san, you could have taken the time to remove your sandals, instead of charging inside..."

"Hana-chan but! I wanted mama to have my gift, so she wouldn't have to go looking for it..."

"It's alright, I could have given it to her once I came inside."

"But you were dusting of your clothes! I was already running through the corridors, left and right! There was no way you could have catched up to me!"

"I guess you're right..."

She'd finished removing all her pins, placing them in a small box she wrapped up for tomorrow's use. She'd glance back at Miyako, whom was already tucking herself with the multiple layers of blankets, so you could barely see her head sticking out.

"Miyako-san, I must go now, Hana-chan wants to sleep too!"

"Awh, mama said I can't see you tomorrow, because I'm going to her workplace!!"

Hana remembered the promise made by her master. If another girl was born, she would force both of them into her business, because they were a 'curse' to the family. If a boy was born, it meant Miyako wouldn't have suffered in the arena, all because of some belief that boys were way superior to girls. It was of course true with strength itself, but punishing a girl because she was born a girl instead of a boy was just horrible! How could Miyako survive in an arena like that! It was near midnight, as Hana hurried out of Miyako's room, heading towards her master's for a small message to be sent to Chiyo.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

"Chiyo-sama, I-"

"Hush. Can't you see I'm busy?"

On her master's tables were handfuls of money, stacked in multiple piles and kept in many areas of her desk, all collecting from the bets from recent fights in the arena. Truth be told, their business wasn't supposed to be running, and was illegal in most villages, but her master, Chiyo-sama, and her husband, Nakashima Kaido-sama, were all for the money. They ran their underground arena all for the likes of money and wealth, having customers bet on who would win in the arena. Most competitors in the arena were surprisingly samurai's hoping to make a few bucks if they won their round. Of course, they would loose and get themselves either killed or broke, if they did survive, which would be highly unlikely, deeming the arena a hell's paradise.

"Uhm- your husband... he's coming soon."

"Oh, thank you Hana. If you may, please go."

"Yes Chiyo-sama."

Just on her way out, she'd find her master's husband, already in his robe, trotting the halls. She slept passed him, watching as he went to a whole other direction from her master's room.

"Excuse me! Sir, are you on your way to Chiyo-sama?"

"Yeah, aren't you Miyako's caregiver?"

"Yes, actually- uhm, Chiyo-sama is in that room. May I do anything to help you guys prepare?"

"No. I don't need fucking help from some maid my wife bought to take care of my useless daughter."

"Oh- alright. Good night."

She made her way back to Miyako's room, hoping that the child she took care of would comfort her. She missed her too much, and even though of her as her own child. She was still very young, and experienced her first time being sold to the Nakashima's just after she turned around age. She wouldn't have guessed she became overly protective of her, since she had siblings herself, but her parents were the worst! All they were looking for was money, so they could retire in a nice grand mansion, taken care of by many servants and maids, while their son would take over the business. But because Miyako was born, she was a hinder to their greedy dream, and would snatch away her freedom if another girl was born. Both of them!

"I will only stay for a few more months Miyako, I hope you take care of your sister..."

She was sure her master would borne another girl, since the chance of birthing a boy was somewhat low in their village. That's why they were so valuable, so precious, worth having children for, I guess.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

There, she sat, watching Miyako celebrate her sixth birthday, as she happily spun around the small plush cat Hana had given her as a gift. She had many gifts from Hana not so much her parents, but on her fourth birthday, she was given a small hair clip of a cat, and on her fifth, she got a hair pin of a cat. Hana knew how much she loved cats, because she'd always find Miyako roaming around the backyard looking for her neighbour's cat. When she did find it, she'd always invite Hana to come over to play with it as well, thus her knew found obsession.

Her smile was as pure as a melody, so bright, so perfect, she wasn't sure why her parents didn't like her ever! But - with the news of how her mother had given birth to another daughter - she had to protect Miyako at all costs, even if it meant her life. Poor Miyako, she was about to visit her parent's workspace again, all because her parents would introduce her to some of her future opponents. How was her master that cruel? And when her sister turned of age, she'd be fighting in that arena too! She'd visit the underground arena only a few times, only just to send messages to her master's husband, but she took a look at some of the competitors, and they were full grown men! Even worse, what she had talked about earlier, swordsmen!

"Hana-chan! Hana-chan! Will you come with me, mama, and dada to their secret base again??"

Her parents had introduced their underground arena as a 'secret base' just to make the kid not suspicious of anything, but she would find out soon... She had held onto her hand, doing her signature puppy eyes to convince Hana to come with them, and of course she couldn't say no, mostly because this could be the last time she would see her, and that if anything did happen, she would take care of her.

"Of course, Miyako-san!"

The child happily led her towards her parent's room, her plush cat at hand, as if another friend she brought along. A few hallways to the left, then right, upstairs until she slid the doors open, revealing her mother carrying another baby, a baby girl. Miyako didn't even know about how her parent's had tried and knew they would be really busy these past few months. She looked in awe at her new sister, as her father pushed them away, making room for him to escape his wife's rage, as she had planned to drop the baby, until her maid, Hana, and her daughter, Miyako, barged in through the door.

"M-mama... who's t-that?"

Miyako approached her, reaching for the baby in her hands, pointing straight at what was now her new sister.

"Meet your sister, care to name her?"

Her mother said, in her all so innocent, abusive motherly voice.

"M-mama... I don't know any names..."

Hana brough herself forward, hoping to relieve the girl with a name she came up with herself.

"How about Mirei!"

Hana proposed, the friend who took her life at the entertainment district. Mirei Kawaguchi, all because some guy had tried to threaten her if she didn't abide by their rules, until she took her life just after she was sold, couldn't bear to be left alone by Hana. One of her biggest regrets, to be sold to the Nakashima's.

"O-okay... Mama! H-how bout Mirei?"

It was abnormal for her to stutter in front of her mother, almost as if Chiyo had changed all of a sudden. She gave a glare at Hana, before accepting the name.

"Mirei it is. Nakashima Mirei, and Nakashima Miyako."

Sounded so well to be announced on the speaker. 'Would Nakashima Miyako come on the arena to fight, Nakashima Miyako?' or 'Would Nakashima Mirei come on the arena to fight? Nakashima Mirei?'

"Hana- collect this child for me, I have some more business to do. Afterwards, I will come back for our little trip to our secret base."

Chiyo was most likely going to register both names as contestants in her arena, and would be a short time until after she brough Miyako, that she would force her to look around, to get used to the place she'd be staying at for a while.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Mirei was about five years of age, while Miyako was eleven. Their last day at the family household before they would be forced to live with blood hungry savages, well, that's what Hana knew off. She knew after the final paperwork, her children would officially be a part of their underground business. And today, was Hana's real last day with both of them.

She barely spent time with Mirei though, since she had her own caregiver, but she was almost exactly like her master. Rude, unapproachable, abusive, (After Hana had witnessed her master slapping her own daughter once when she broke her vase on accident, or when she accidently spelled her name incorrectly, because she wasn't able to have proper schooling. Also, another one when she had her sandals in the house, where she found Miyako with red marks around her wrists, and a huge red spot on her cheek.) and filled with disgust once she found something that unsatisfied her.

Mirei walked beside Miyako, hands intertwined as they followed behind their mother, Hana right behind them. She was leading them towards their secret base, but both knew that it was a punishment, even if they had done nothing, all because of the look their mother gave them when she told them to follow behind her.

"Mama, w-where are we going? Don't we go to that entrance over t-there?

Miyako pointed at the entrance everyone uses to enter the arena to watch the match, as it was always where their mother and father had led them, instead, they went behind a door only made for mama and Dada to use, finding their father unlocking the doors for them from the inside.

Mirei was only here once, only to company her sister when they went to visit again. She didn't know much about the place, only that people usually fight in that arena, because Hana had told her beforehand, but didn't have time to tell Miyako due to her conversing with her mother. It was the arena they were standing on right now.

Miyako had though this was where they kept all the other people in their secret base, since her mother didn't want her to find out about their plans, oh but their youngest did.

The rest of the stands were pitch black, void from any light as it was all focused on the middle where the two children stood. Their mother pushed Hana out of the way, letting the kids wander the stage as the lights finally turned on, only to be met with a mass crowd, all cheering at the kids. People who had gambled their money thinking these kids would have died in the arena.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen, to tonight's special guest performance! Here we have our two daughters, Nakashima Miyako and Nakashima Mirei, up against a favourite of yours, Kyoshiro Yamamura!"

There, a broad-shouldered man came from the shadow in front of them, scars on his arms that held a samurai sword, one whose sword was so pointy, it could pierce your soul of it came any closer.

He looks disappointedly at the pair of children, as they both cowered by the rails, watching the youngest start sobbing at the sight of him.

"Hey, Madam Chiyo- I ain't seeing what I'm supposed to see. What are these kids doing here??"

He first pointed at Miyako, who was blocking Mirei from his presence, while still hanging on to the fence that separated the stage from the stands.

"These are your adversaries! You will fight against them for this round!"

"Pfft. These aren't real opponents, at least get a real man to fight! I don't care about these weak children!"

Chiyo was at utter shock, her plan hadn't work, to get them both killed by one of the arena's best fighters. She stood behind the gate, just blocking the entrance back to the stands for her children. She tried to think of a retort, hoping to threaten her best fighter with the loss of his betting money.

"Bitch. Just get them out of this arena."

There, she didn't hesitate out of full anger and dragged her kids out of the stage, pulling them back to where Hana was begging to let them go.

"Chiyo-sama! Let them go, please!!"

She dragged them out of the stands, Hana right behind, pulling on Miyako's kimono as she continued pleading.

"Please Chiyo-sama!! Let them go!! Miyako-san! Miyako! MIYAKO!"

There, both girls under the grasp of their mother were sobbing waterfalls, both yelling Hana's name as she led them to the outside, pushing them both onto the ground. Hana was still behind them and started tearing when she found both kids on the ground, hugging each other for the only comfort they had.

"Hana! Get away from me! I don't give a fuck on what you are planning to do to them! They're my kids! And I can do what I want!"

Hana broke into a fit of tears, kneeling down to the kids to hug them back, but her master had pulls her away, making her stumble backwards as Chiyo stood menacingly in front of her.

"Get away Hana! Get away! Away, away!! AWAY!"

She wasn't able to think straight anymore, the kids, already at a loss for both their wellbeing and their parents, and know, the only person that could keep them safe, were leaving them. She could see Miyako's swelled up face, hugging her sister's head so tightly, trying to yell Hana's name.

Chiyo picked them up again, pulling them away from Hana, who couldn't continue her pursuit on the children. She just watched them being grabbed by their own mother, crying out loud for the single person they could trust, now out of their grasp. Chiyo's screams became louder and louder, trying to shut the children up as they called for Hana's name.

"Hana-chan! Hana-chan! Please save us!!"

"SHUT UP. JUST SHUT UP."

She heard her ex-master say.

Hana crumpled on the ground, Miyako and Mirei wasn't hers anymore, but an animal's. She could no longer here their pleads anymore, reaching for her, wanting her protection, but now- she was utterly useless. All she did was just watch them get pulled away by a mother who couldn't even take care of them for a single minute, for a single second where they could call Chiyo their mother. They were better off being sold off then to be taken care of by Hana, otherwise, she was too attached to the girl.

It was nighttime, as cold crispy flakes started to fall from heaven, reaching Hana's head as it was now laced with twinkling white snowflakes, as some danced while it reached the ground. It was pretty cold, as Hana only threw on a quick Yukata for the evening's fight she was about to spectate, not realizing it would be including Miyako and Mirei.

She stood up, brushing off dirt from her rear, and looking back at the shed far away, were all of the arena's fighters lived if they didn't have a place to stay. It was filled top to bottom with all sorts of criminals, corrupt samurai, or people only there to clench their thirst for blood, and killing, and death. Chiyo was an absolute monster. There was absolutely now way she could do it with a bunch of kids barely able to experience the world themselves, all because of some stupid belief that boys were better.

Hana left in a hurry, packing her stuff to leave the mansion they all lived in. She couldn't bare to experience heartbreak ever again, once with her best friend, and now with a child she befriended because of a simple task to be her caregiver. No way would she ever look back at the family home.

Upon arriving at the gates, all her stuff nicely wrapped in a cloth, she read the sign that stood upon the gates 'Nakashima Household' and ran away, leaving the poor village behind, as Chiyo only watched from the Arena's walls a figure, running away in the dark.

She didn't care who it was, but only that the problem she had to deal with for years, was finally over. With her kids being subjects to the arena, she didn't have to care whether they were alone, whether they needed a bath, whether they needed anything at all, those fighters of hers will do anything to shut them up.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Mirei lay on the spare futon found by the corner of the room, while Miyako only sat and watched, her chest rising up, and down after each breath. Each fighter of her mother's had their own private sheds, chained and locked up from the outside, only brought back when it was their turn to fight again, or if it was training or eating time, which could probably give Miyako and Mirei a chance to escape if they were silent enough.

"Fucking shits." She heard her mother say for the last time.

Miyako didn't know how long it was after her mother locked her shed door shut, and the only light beaming from the outside were multiple cracks on the wooden walls, casting misty shadows on Mirei and her futon.

It was morning, as the calls of small birds rested on top of their shed. She was awake for a few hours, unable to shake off some event that would have almost certain kill her if that guy didn't stand back. But after that, she heard a familiar voice, just out of her shed, calling her family name. Were they calling her mother? But mother should be waking up right now, and this place is kinda far away from home...

"Hey, Nakashima, or whatever your name is... you alright kid?"

Kid. He was taking to them. Should she pretend she was still asleep, or just answer back?

"I'm alright - sir..."

"Did you even sleep?"

"N-no sir..."

"How about your sister over there?"

She could see eyes poking from one of the larger gaps, squinting from the sun that shown above him.

"She's - asleep s-sir."

"Alright, well, I should probably unlock this for you."

The sun's rays bounced off on every direction of the small shed, revealing two girls with dirt on their faces, not a single shine in their eyes. Both looked messed up from last night, being forced to fight from such a young age would have scared them, especially when you lived in a mansion your whole life. The little girl sleeping had dry tears on her face, still holding on to her sister's kimono as she sat beside her, a hand on her head.

"Hey, are you alright kid?? I'm sorry for what happen yesterday..."

He spoke less loud than before, kneeling down to the same eye level as Miyako, whose face was left on the wooden floorboards of the shed. She didn't look up, still staring at the boards as he tilted her head up, a small smile on his face.

"Hey, it's okay, it's okay... I'll take care of you two, and make sure nobody hurts you, alright?"

She finally looked up, realizing he was just like Hana, the same, small smile she gave Miyako when it was bedtime, or when she played with the neighbour's cat. He was the guy from earlier, the guys that called her mother back for her actions, the guy with the sword in his hands.

"O-okay..."

"It's breakfast now, but I didn't ask, what's your name kiddo?"

"Miyako... and my sister's M-Mirei."

"Alright, Miyako. wake your sister up, and let's go for breakfast."

He stood up, watching the girl shake her sister to wake her, watching the girl groan because of the sun's light, coming on her face. he was so sad, watching kids younger than the required age to fight in an arena, or even watch fellow peers get killed for the sake of money. That's what everyone was here for, even him, but now with the child under his wing, it was both for money, and for the safety of this girl and her sister, to help them any way they can, until they could finally escape.

Character info chart!!:

Nakashima Chiyo:

Age: 31 (When Miyako was born), 46 (current timeline)

Race: Human

Hair colour: Blonde

Eye colour: deep sea blue

Extra: By the time she realised her childhood, she was always fond by the thought of money, as she required a large sum of it when she turned around Miyako's age, because of her wealthy upbringing. With that in mind, she'd do everything to reach her ultimate goal, to be one of the richest in the country. In doing that, the only way to farm money, without having to be spied on by other rich politics or other higher superior was to run an underground business, which she ran herself before meeting her husband. She was always known as caring and careful, but deep inside, she didn't care about being perfect, having a family, (though she did fall in love) or even attaining certain achievements. All she wanted was the wealth others had, to be rich, to be richer than anyone else, to have all the money she coud ever have. That's what she wanted.

Nakashima Kaido:

Age: 33 (When Miyako was born), 48 (current timeline)

Race: Human

Hair colour: Black

Eye colour: Amber

Extra: He met Chiyo when he went shopping with his mother, seeing how pretty she was, and had fallen in love by first sight. He was just a teenager back then, but mustered the courage to talk to her, as they both scavenged the market for beautiful kimonos and hakamas. She had told him she went to the market daily, and was now head over heels over her because he was able to visit and see her, since he was allowed to go shopping himself. He didn't come from some extravagant childhood, maybe when his mother had started a small stall right by the entertainment district, but otherwise, that would be one of his greatest memories, but after meeting Miyako's mother, things started to change drastically. After finally having her hand in marriage, he found out she had been obsessed with the thought of money, and by being the guy to fall for her first, though that by sharing the same goals and interests as her would deepen their love. Helping her with the business was no problem, as his job was to settle bets made by customers or arena participants and would help think of ways to secretly scam them to steal a bit if they had won, just to pleasure his wife. (Yep, she was more dominant T^T)

Nakashima Mirei:

Age: 10 (current timeline)

Race: Human

Hair colour: Black

Eye colour: Blue

Extra: By the time she started to remember stuff, she was already distancing herself from her mother, where she had watched her older sister get slapped in the face for a pathetic reason. She knew her sister liked cats and wanted to give her a drawing she drew of the neighbour's cat she always played with, but that was going to be just a day afterwards if they didn't go to the arena that faithful night. Merei likes dogs. Merei it isn't as good as her sister with swords and prefers more hiding and helping people.

????? Hana:

Age: 20 (current timeline), ??? (current timeline)

Race: Human

Hair colour: Black *Edited: She has brown, but like a light brown, having a lot of black-haired characters might be confusing*

Eye colour: Pearl pink

Extra: Born to be immediately sold to the entertainment district, all her life was filled with rules of the household, under the watch of lustful men who only wanted her for her body and looks. She was polite and trust-worthy, always following the rules of the fellow geisha in the house she worked at, which allowed her to be sold to a lovely couple she thought she would love, the Nakashima's. Before that, she had a fellow friend, Merei, another one of the women she worked alongside with, and eventually became friends with. She was the only thing that could keep her sane before being sold off, and promised her they would escape this place, and run for their lives until they were tired. It was them that that same night they were planning to leave, she was especially requested to be sold, along with other women from different houses, leaving Merei by herself, without the only person she trusts. Just a day after, they'd start sending each other letters about their current lives, but because of the timeline they were in, it took time before the letter was delivered, making some of the news they were talking about passed the current date, but of course, it was just the timeline. The last letter she received from Merei was when she had told Hana she was being sold to a man looking for someone to take care of him. Only with that piece of news, she was happy to have finally let her friend out pf that place, until just a few days after, her master, Chiyo-sama, had given her a letter from the house she originally worked at, and told her that Merei took her life due to the abuse that man was giving her. Not just following his rules but being the least sensitive to any of her concerns, ultimately leaving and leaving Hana shook of the news. From there, she started to fear everyone, scared something like that would happen again, until Miyako was born. That was when she had to stop fearing and take the role in protecting and helping this young girl, like the young girl she was, without a childhood, but to give this girl the love and attention she needed.
