I woke up and looked at my watch.

5:55 a.m.

Shuck! I'm late.

I quickly got up and got dressed as fast as I could. When I walked away I saw that Newt was still in his bed. I got outside and immediately walked to the Doors without eating anything.

While walking towards the Doors I saw that Minho and Thomas ran into the maze. A few seconds later I did too.

Nothing had changed in the maze. Section seven was still closed and nothing else was different, just like every other day. It was getting bored to run in the everyday without anything special happening, but I couldn't do anything about it.

When I got out of the maze I walked to the Map Room and made some notes. Then I looked trough all the papers to see if something was different or strange, but it was all normal.

I did some last researches and when I got out of the Map Room it was already dark outside. I walked to Newt' and my room and got to sleep.

I didn't talk to anyone today. I had to rush in the morning and after that I was in the Map Room, Newt wasn't in his room yet. I just went to sleep on my own.

The next day I woke up an hour before the Doors opened. I tried to fall asleep again, but I couldn't. I got out of my bed and did my hair, got dressed and brushed my teeth. When I got outside no one was there and the sun wasn't up yet.

I walked to the kitchen to get some food, because it had been a while since I ate something. When I got there I noticed the lack of food. There were just a few breads left and some fruits. If this was all we have then we can't last more than two weeks.

I decided it would be better to spare Chuck some more food so I went outside again. I needed to wait half an hour more until the Doors would open, so I went for a walk.

I walked around the whole Glade and trough the forest, and it slowly started to get lighter. I heard more voices and sounds coming from the Homestead.

I looked at my watch and saw that the Doors would open in one minute, so I started walking towards them. Just when I arrived they opened and I got in.

Nothing had changed again. It was all the same and I was getting bored. I sighed and got in the Map Room. None of the Runners were there, so I was alone. I mapped some things and looked at the papers again, even though I would never find anything new.

After a while I got up again. Should I go to the boys?

I saw all of them sitting around a fire. I looked around and saw that it was already getting dark.

I need sleep, I've got to wake up early tomorrow.

I sneaked into the Homestead without anyone noticing, and fell asleep.

Newt's POV

I woke up and looked besides me. Raven wasn't there and she also wasn't lying in her own bed. I got dressed quickly and walked outside, just to see Raven disappear into the maze.

I sighed and started working.

'Hey.' I joined Minho, Chuck, Teresa and Thomas for dinner. Frypan had made us a small meal, our plates were filled with a piece of bread and some soup.

After a while I was starting to wonder where Raven was.

'Where's Raven?' I asked no one in particular.

'I don't know.' Minho said.

She got out of the maze, right? I was getting worried.

I finished my food and got to our room real quick. I saw Raven lying on her bed, her dark hair covering the whole pillow. I smiled in relief and left her alone.

The next morning I woke with no one next to me again, and also not in the other bed. I quickly got up, hoping I could see Raven before she went into the maze.

When I arrived downstairs I got breakfast, but didn't see Raven. I knew the Doors would open any minute now, so I got up and walked to the Doors. Halfway there the ground started to shake and the Doors were opening. Before I could say anything I saw Raven get in there.

I wanted to run after her, but I was too late.

I was standing in the line to get some food with Minho. Some guy in front of us was screaming at Frypan.

'Why do we get these small portions?! Can't you give us more?!' He screamed.

'Sorry, man. We don't have more.' Frypan sighed and ignored the kid who continued screaming.

'Thank you.' Me and Minho walked to a table together after getting our food.

'Did you see Raven today?' I asked him.

'Yeah, she got out of the maze already.' Minho simply said.

'Where is she now?'

'Map Room.'

I nodded and ate my food. When I was done Alby had made a fire and they were sitting around it with a few others. I was just about to walk to the Map Room when Chuck stopped me.

'Come on, Newt!' He wanted me to join their game.

'Sorry, Chuck.' I left the fire and walked to the Map Room.

When I got in the room no one was there. I looked around and saw all the mapping papers laying all around the table. I walked to a small note book and took a look in it.

'Minho likes pie.'

I chuckled and looked at a few more pages. Most of the papers had notes on it, but then I saw a page completely blank. I took a better look and saw some small letters in the corner.

I looked closely and saw what it said.

'Raven likes Newt.'

I smiled. Did she write this?

I grabbed a pen from the table and wrote something under the sentence.

'Newt likes Raven.'

I smiled and put the notebook back.

When I arrived in the bedroom I saw that Raven was already asleep. I quickly put on my pyjamas and walked towards Raven her bed. I laid down next to her and wrapped my arms around her.

Raven's POV

When I woke up I felt two arms wrapped around me. I moved my head and saw it was Newt. His eyes were closed and he looked very cute.

I'm so lucky.

I didn't feel like getting up yet, so I turned my head again.

Suddenly I realized how distant I've been the last few days. I moved closer to Newt until my body was completely against his. I almost completely got under the blanket and fell asleep again.

I opened my eyes when I heard Newt making a slight noise. I turned my head and looked at him.

'Hey, love.' He whispered.

'Hey.' I turned my whole body so it was facing him. Then I moved closer to his body again.

We stayed in this position for a few minutes. One of Newt's hands was in my hair, slowly drawing circles.

'I didn't see you for a while.' He whispered.

'Sorry, just been mapping a lot of stuff.' I said back.

'It's alright.' He stayed silent for a second. 'I saw your notebook.'

'Okay.' I didn't really know what he meant.

'And I saw the notes.' He added.

'Alright.' I was still confused, there weren't much interesting things in my notebook.

'Did you write that down?' He asked.

'Write what down?' I really didn't know what he was talking about.

'Raven likes Newt.'  He said.

'Oh, yeah, I did that.'

'I wrote something back.'

'Really?' I looked up. 'What did you write?'

'Newt likes Raven.' He said.

I smiled and got even closer to him. I wish I could stay like this forever. I moved my head closer to Newt's chest and I could hear his heart beating. I closed my eyes at the comfort.

'Raven?' Newt asked, a little quiet.

'Yes.' I opened my eyes again and looked into Newt's brown ones.

'I think,' Newt started, but then he stopped.

'You think?...' I asked.

Newt seemed to think for a few seconds, but then his eyes met mine again.

'I love you.'

My whole body froze for a second and I didn't know what to say. My heart fluttered and I felt the corners of my mouth turn up.

'I love you too.' I said quietly.

Newt wrapped his arms around me and I hugged him back. I closed my eyes and again I wished we could stay like this forever.

~

Sadly me and Newt had to get up eventually. The Doors had already opened a few minutes ago so I quickly said Newt goodbye before leaving. I didn't eat before I went in, but that was alright.

I ran towards section seven, but it was still closed. In three days it would open again, until that I had to wait.

~

I got back in the Glade on time, and headed to the Map Room. I wrote everything down and mapped some things. Before leaving I grabbed my notebook and looked in it.

Newt likes Raven.

I smiled and grabbed a pen. I putted a big cross trough 'Raven likes Newt' and under it I wrote down 'Raven loves Newt'.

I put the notebook away and walked to the picknick tables. I sat down somewhere and waited. After a few minutes Chuck joined me with a plate of food.

'Hey, Raven.' He smiled.

'Hey, how're you doing, Chuck?' I asked.

'Great!'

I smiled at him while he ate his meat. Soon Teresa joined us.

'Hey.' She greeted us.

'Hey.' I said. 'How are you?' I asked.

'I'm good, what about you?'

'Good.' I replied. I didn't really know what else to say to her, but that wasn't necessary because Minho and Thomas joined us a few seconds after.

Not a single minute after Minho and Thomas arrived Newt joined us. We were now a full group and everyone was talking to each other.

After a while everyone was done eating and I got up. My vision turned blurry for a second but then got clear again. I blinked a few times and ignored it.

Newt motioned for me to come with him and I grabbed his hand. Together we walked to our room.

Newt was already asleep in his own bed. I laid down on my bed and stared at the ceiling.

Section seven will open in a few days, then you can go and explore. I need to go see the cliff again, and the hole. Why wouldn't it open when me, Thomas and Minho were there? Maybe it was because it was just the three of us instead of more.

If the door had opened would the three of us go in? No. I wouldn't leave Newt behind.

I'm gonna check out section seven tomorrow, hopefully it is open.

I really need to check out a few things, should I go to the Map Room? No. I need to sleep and run tomorrow.

I laid down for a few seconds.

I don't care, I just need to map a few things. It won't take me that long.

I got up and put my shoes on. As quietly as possible I left the Homestead, towards the Map Room.

I managed to get there without waking any boys up. I looked trough all the papers again, trying to find a pattern. Then I took a look at the model that Minho hat build of the maze. I studied everything of it, and tried to see if there was a difference between the notes and the model.

It took me an hour an a half to do all this, and when I wanted to leave I couldn't resist it to clean everything up. I grabbed all the notes and sorted them by section.

When I was done I looked at my watch.

2 a.m.

That's alright, it could've took me longer.

I made it back to my bed and quickly fell asleep.

I was woken up by the sounds of someone walking. I turned around and opened my eyes. Newt was putting on his shoes.

'Hey.' I said.

He looked up. 'Oh hey.' He smiled.

'Sleep well?' I asked.

'Yeah, what about you?' He frowned.

'I did too.'

'You sure?' He looked at me.

'Yeah, why?'

'You just look a little tired.' He continued putting on his shoes. 'Have you been mapping again?' He sighed.

'Maybe.' I got up.

'You shouldn't be doing that.'

'Alright.' I chuckled.

After I got dressed we walked towards the kitchen. My stomach rumbled but I ignored it. I looked in the kitchen and saw that we didn't have much left.

How am I gonna tell Newt that I don't want to eat, because the others need it more?

Before I could say anything Alby walked towards us and motioned for Newt to come.

'Sorry, love. I'll see you at dinner.' He gave me a quick kiss and followed Alby.

I sighed in relief and walked over to Thomas.

'Hey, Raven.' Thomas said.

'Morning.' I sat down.

'No food?' Thomas looked up.

'Already ate.' I simply said. Thomas shrugged it off and continued eating.

'I'm gonna leave already, bye.' I said goodbye and started walking to the Doors.

I had to wait a few more minutes until they opened and then I went in.

I immediately ran to section seven, but just as usual the section was closed. I sighed and went back.

I wiped the sweat of my forehead as I was running trough the maze. I was running harder then normally, I was on full speed actually and there was no reason for it. There was no Griever chasing me, it was just myself trying to out run everything. All the thoughts, all the memories, everything in the maze.

I turned a lot of corners, not caring what way I went. After an hour I stopped and took a breath.

What am I doing?

I sighed and got up again. Then I headed back to the Glade.

I immediately went off to the Map Room once I arrived in the Glade. I wrote everything down and took a look at the other runners their notes. Then I grabbed my notebook and sat down on a wooden chair. I started writing.

Dear w.c.k.d,

I'm asking u to let the Box down again, please. I don't know if u will listen to this, but I'm just asking. We don't know how long it's going to take to get out of the maze, and we have a lack of food. I noticed that people are getting moody because of those things. All I'm asking is to give us some more time and food. I have been trying to spare food by giving the others more, and giving myself nothing. I don't know if it's working, but I've been doing it for three or four days now and it's not making my health any better. I don't know how long the others will last without food, I just want them to get out of here safe.

So please.

I ripped the paper of the notebook and read it.

Stupid.

I made a ball out of the paper and threw it somewhere in the Map Room.

I sighed and walked out of the Map Room.

'Night.' I got up from the table and got ready for bed. Newt was still talking to Minho and Alby as I walked to the Homestead.

Before getting in bed all alone, I needed to go to the toilet so I walked into the bathroom.

Newt's POV

'Night.' Raven said goodbye and walked to the Homestead. I continued talking to Alby and Minho for a while until I was getting tired.

'I'm gonna go to sleep, see ya.' I left the two boys and walked to me and Raven her room.

When I got there I immediately noticed that Raven was not in her bed. I thought that she might went to the Map Room, so I walked out of the room towards the Map Room.

'Raven?' I said once I arrived in front of the Map Room. I opened the door and looked around. No one was there. I looked at all the papers that were sorted perfectly. I sighed and wanted to walk away, but then my eyes caught a crumpled piece of paper. I walked towards it and bend down to open it.

I saw the familiar handwriting, so I knew it was Raven who wrote this. Then I started reading.

I felt tears in my eyes as I was reading the letter.

Why? Why would she do this? Sparing food? Why is she thinking this?

I rubbed my eyes and put the letter in my pocket.

When I arrived in our room I saw Raven lying in her bed. I wanted to wake her up so badly and talk about the letter, but I let her sleep, she looked so peaceful.

Raven's POV

I woke up earlier than normal the next morning. I saw that Newt was still asleep and I kept it like that. I smiled and looked at his cute face and messy hair.

I put on my black top and green shorts and walked downstairs. I wanted to walk to the kitchen, but stopped myself. No one was awake yet and I wanted some time for myself, so I walked around the Glade.

It's already been an hour since I woke up and the Doors would open any minute. I've noticed that more people had woken up, but I didn't feel like talking to them. I quickly walked to the Doors and started running.

Section seven was closed, again. And I was getting tired of it. I ran back and explored some other sections.

And nothing was different, again.

I sighed and let myself fall down against the wall. I took a few deep breaths and got ready to run again, but when I got up my vision was blurry. The world around me started to shake, and slowly went black.

No, no, no.

I immediately sat down again and took a few breaths. My vision slowly started to get better and I could run again.

Newt's POV

'Where's Raven?' I asked Alby the next morning.

'She already left.'

'Oh.' I sighed and joined Chuck for breakfast.

'Did you see Raven today?' I asked him.

'Yeah for a split second. She got into the maze a few minutes ago. I didn't talk to her.'

'Okay, thanks Chuck.'

I needed to talk to her, but sadly I had to wait.

I sighed and got to work.

It was getting a little darker and I saw Raven get out of the maze. I quickly ran towards her and saw her confused face.

'Hey, can I talk you?' I asked and I saw a flash of worry appearing in her eyes.

'Yeah.' She said unsure.

'Come on.' I grabbed her hand and I lead her to our room.

When we arrived I sat down.

'So, what did you wanna talk about?' She asked.

I thought for a second not knowing how to tell her, but then I remember that I had the letter in my pocket.

I grabbed the letter and showed it to her. Her skin turned pale and I saw the panic in her eyes.

'Newt,' she started, but then she looked down.

We both stayed silent.

'Why?' I asked.

'It's all in the letter.' She didn't look at me.

'I want to hear it from you.'

'I just wanna spare some food so the others have more.' She got up and I could see the tears in her eyes. Then she walked away.

Raven's POV

I needed to get some air. I ran outside and felt tears dripping down my cheeks. I wiped them away and started running. I didn't care how dumb it looked, I ran and ran rounds around the Glade. I didn't stop until I was completely out of breath.

When I stopped running I sat down against a tree.

Why does he always find out?

I then realized how lame I was, because I ran away from Newt. I sighed and got up, on my way to say sorry to him.

I opened the door to our room and saw that Newt was sitting on his bed. The letter was still in his hand.

I sat down next to him and he immediately looked up.

'Sorry.' I said. 'I'm so sorry.' I got closer to Newt and waited for his reaction.

'It's okay.' He said with a hoarse voice. I laid my head on his shoulder.

'Just don't do it again, alright?' He said. 'Promise me.'

'I promise.'

'Now let's get you some food.' He got up and grabbed my hand. Together we walked to the kitchen.

'What do you want?' Newt walked around in the kitchen.

'I don't know.' I shrugged.

Newt grabbed some left over soup and warmed it up in a pan, then he grabbed a plate. He laid some bread on the plate and put the soup in a cup.

'I never knew you could cook.' I smiled.

'It's my hidden talent.' Newt sarcastically replied. 'Here you go.' He handed the plate to me.

'Thank you.' I smiled and we walked outside, to a table. It was already dark outside, but we sat down anyways.

Newt made me eat everything. 'Alright, good job.' He smiled and grabbed the plate. He put the plate back in the kitchen and together we walked to our room.
