Ever since Michelle had been wrong about the Doctor coming to Sherlock's home, she hadn't had any more visions. She wasn't sure if she should be glad about that or not. She felt empty inside without her vivid dreams, but she was also glad that for once, she didn't see everyone's future and their deaths. Yet a part of her wondered with every stranger she encountered, if they were going to die soon and if she should be the one who could prevent it from happening.
But without her dreams she didn't know anything and she didn't know how to change it.
With a small sigh, Michelle closed her apartment behind her and ran a hand through her long, red hair. She nodded at her neighbour who came around the corner and tried to push her thoughts aside. If the visions would return, they would, but for timebeing she would have to learn how to cope without them. After all, hadn't she lived without them for most of her life? Michelle walked down the hallway and descended the stairs, within a few minutes she was standing outside and closed her eyes for a moment to enjoy the warmth of the sun on her face. Perhaps this wasn't too bad; before she always had been busy to safe people from their faith and hadn't had any time left for herself. But now, she could do what she wanted to do without running to somewhere with a mission.
And with all that extra time, Michelle had decided to go strolling through the city center. It had been a long time since she had bought some nice clothes for herself. She went to the nearest underground station and only had to wait for a few minutes before the tube arrived. As most of the time, it was very crowded inside and there was no place to sit. She clutched her hand around the nearest pole and tried to ignore the fact that she could barely move. Everyone stood as close by as if they were animals in a cage. Which now they kind of were. The doorsย closed with a hissing sound and everyone shook along with the movements of the tube as it started to move.
After a few stops, Michelle tuned out the annoying: 'Please mind the gap between train and platform'. Why again had she chosen to go with the underground? O right, the absurd high prizes for parking a car in the downtown area.
She looked up from her hand, to which she had been staring at, when some foreign words reached her ears. It was rather quiet in the tube, most people stared at their cellphones, listened to music or were lost in thoughts. Michelle observed the two young women for a while and a small smile crept on her face as they made bad impersonations of the woman's voice who warned passengers for the gap. They chuckled and Michelle smiled while shaking her head lightly. Tourists...
The tube approached the next station and Michelle set her jaw when somebody next to her bumped into her when it slowed down, and he stepped on her feet in attempt to regain its balance. She looked with a glare at the man but her expression softened when she noticed it was a very old man.
"Sorry, dear," he apologised, but Michelle shook her head.
"It's fine, sir." She wondered why no one had the decency to stand up for him. She was about to ask someone to give up his seat to the old man, when the door opened and almost everyone exited the tube. The old man as well. Suprised, Michelle looked up to see by which station they were and noticed she had to leave here as well. Quickly, before the doors could close again, she left the tube and followed the people towards the exit of the station. Again, it felt as if they were animals, all guided by fences and walls to one point. She couldn't say she enjoyed it.
Once outside, Michelle breathed in the fresh air and the claustrophobic feeling drifted away. For a while, she walked around, ordered a coffee from the Starbucks and entered several shops. She looked through the clothes and tried several on, but with most of them she wasn't overly pleased and put them back on the shelves. She let out a sigh, she just couldn't seem to find the right clothing.
Suddenly, she felt someone staring at her and she looked around curiously. Her eyes spotted the old man from the tube. What a coincidence. At the moment, Michelle didn't ask herself why he was in the women's department of the shop as he clearly was alone. She smiled kindly at the man but when his piercing blue eyes crossed hers, she let out a yelp of pain.
Her head felt as if several ice cold daggers were being stabbed into it, again and again. Tears sprang in her eyes and her hands flew to her head. She screamed when the pain became worse, her vision blurred and she slumped down on the floor. The pain was sickenly and Michelle feared that if it wouldn't stop soon, it would turn her brains into a liquid.
"Let it stop!" she screamed in fear. It had to stop! But she couldn't shut out the pain as it was inside her. Then it spread through her body and her limbs shocked. Her body was freezing cold and at the same time it felt like she was on fire. Ice cold electricity scorched her nerves and a high pitched screech left her throat. So much pain. So much agonizing pain.
"Let it stop," she begged while the tears ran down her face. "Let it stop, let it stop," she repeated over and over again, but it became softer as she was drawn into a darkness. A neverending darkness and her eyes rolled back in its sockets. On the edge of consciousness, she saw the old man hovering above her, but then she embraced the darkness. She just wanted the pain to stop.
"It's alright. I'm her grandfather, she sometimes has these panics attacks. It's alright."

A/N: Dun dun dunnn...! Will Michelle be alright?
So sorry for the long wait, though. Life's been... busy. Hectic. Awful. A pain in the arse.
