"Candice, we need your help." There it was. The girl could never get one ounce of rest in this family. "Bloody hell. A girl can't wallow in self pity in the room she once shared with her dead lover?" Elijah inhales sharply at the casual mention of his brother. He didn't expect Candice to mention Kol as much as she did. Candice sat up, her body wrapped in the sheets as she stared at the portrait of herself that hung on the wall. "I can still feel him, Elijah. I feel him, yet I have no idea where he is."

Elijah cleared his throat, stepping inside the room, he leaned against the wall in front of her. "Perhaps, it could just be your subconscious. You loved him. You were connected to him. Maybe, it's your way of handling your grief." He suggests. It wasn't a bad theory, but it didn't explain the ring. It glowed, before her own eyes. Candice sighs, pulling the covers off of her. "I suppose you could be right. Anyways, what can I do for you? As long as it doesn't involve magic, I'm your girl."

Elijah gave her a look and she groaned, walking over to her wardrobe to change for the day. Candice quickly changed before walking out of the bathroom, seeing Elijah and Niklaus sitting on the sofa in front of the coffee table. "I would like to clarify, my mother is still somehow haunting me from the bloody grave. I can try to help you the best to my abilities, but if she doesn't agree with this, she will stop me." Candice kneeled down in front of the table, setting up the dark objects she was going to channel.

"We need you to locate the white oak stake," Niklaus explained.

Candice exhaled, "oh yes, she's definitely not going to like that." Candice clears her throat, shutting her eyes and chanting under her breath. The two brothers watched with curious eyes. Blood began to spill from her eyes, she continued, fighting against her mother to try and locate the stake. Blood begins to spill from her nose and ears, she didn't seem to care, but the two Mikaelson's did. "Candice, stop the spell!"

Hayley entered the room hearing all the commotion. "What's going on?"

Elijah looks towards her as Klaus tries to get through to Candice with his words. "Her mother is manipulating her magic, if she doesn't stop soon, it will kill her." Elijah stood up, remembering that Kol had a few objects lying around that would bring Candice back if she ever got lost in a spell. "Hayley, there is a silver box lying around in this room. Help me find it, now."

Hayley nods, the two immediately beginning to search the room. "Elijah, check behind the portrait. The wall is hollow right there." Klaus instructs, seeing the blood was now beginning to pour from her mouth. Hayley takes down the portrait and Elijah punches through the wall, feeling his hand in the shallow wall. His hands land on the box and he grabs it, taking it to Klaus. "Crap, it's locked. We need a key."

"Wait, look at the size of the engraving. It's a diamond," Hayley points out. Klaus furrowed his brows, not understanding. "The ring around her neck! It's the key!" Hayley reaches for the ring that was hanging on the silver chain and hands it to Klaus. He unlocks the box, opening it, nothing was in it. But it seemed to work cause Candice stopped chanting, holding her head she screams in pain. "Close it! Close the box!" She cries out.

Klaus slams it shut, causing her to sigh in relief. "Out of all the things you use. You chose the most painful one." Candice groaned, remembering that Kol only helped make it as a emergency one in case the other objects didn't work. She hated that box. "It seemed to be the most effective," Elijah points out, getting a glare from her.

"Did you at least find the stake?" Klaus asks.

Candice sighs, shaking her head. "No, but I can feel it. It's close. My mother knows exactly where it is, and who possesses it. She's hellbent on making sure I don't find it. Which makes me want to find it even more." Candice stood up, grabbing her jacket and phone. "Where are you going?" Klaus asked. She wipes the blood from herself and reaches over to take her ring back from Nik. "I'm going to dig up my mother, and take her magic so she can no longer manipulate my power."

Hayley purses her lips, watching as Candice walks out abruptly. "I want to hate her, but I can't. She's just so likeable. Am I the only one feeling like that?" Klaus smirks at Hayley's words. "Candy tends to have that effect on people. Trust me, it's better to give in." Klaus pats her shoulder before exiting the room.

Kaleb Westphall walked the streets of the French Quarter beside another witch known as Alec Channing. The two witches could otherwise be known as Kol Mikaelson and Anthony Parker. Alec rolls his eyes when Kaleb steals an apple from a man's stand, manipulating the apple's to fall so he would get away with it. "Really enjoying this aren't you? Manipulating everything to get what you want," Alec spoke, he and Kol always argued like brother's so this was nothing new for them.

"Don't you have some stalking to do, mate?" Kaleb scoffs, taking a bite of the apple. Alec rolls his eyes for the millionth time that day as he loans on the post, his eyes following the witch of the name Davina Claire, per Esther's orders. "You're just jealous that your mother chose me to handle this rather than her own son." Kaleb shoots him a glare and Alec smirks. "Shouldn't you be keeping an eye on my lovely sister?"

Kaleb smirks, "speak of the angel." Their eyes landed on Candice who exited a store with a shovel in her hand and bloody fingertips that she hadn't bothered to wipe off from the spell earlier. "Alright. Follow her, and I'll follow, Davina. Meet back up at the cemetery in two hours tops." Kaleb nods and the two witches both go their separate ways.

Candice stopped in her steps, turning around, she raised a brow at Kaleb, clearing he was horrible at stalking people. "If you're going to stalk me, the least you can do is try to be just a little bit discreet." Kaleb chuckles, raising his hands in defeat. "Alright, you caught me. Guilty as charged. But, hear me out. You said you would consider dinner, and then I remembered you don't have my number. So even if you agreed, you couldn't contact me."

Candice exhaled, blinking in amusement, she took a step towards him. "You're quite the persistent one, aren't you?"

Kaleb shrugs. "Runs in the family." She chuckles, shaking her head. Candice turns around, heading towards her car as he caught up to her side. "So, where you off to?" Candice stopped at the car, unlocking it, she turned around to face him. "If you must know, I am off to dig up my mother's remains so I can steal her magic, which would prevent her from manipulating my magic and trying to kill me from hell." Candice tosses the shovel into the trunk and slams it shut as Kaleb seemed to be processing that information.

He cleared his throat, his eyes finding hers as she leaned on the car. "Want some company?"

"Uh, sure. I hope you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty." Candice climbs into the car and unlocks it for Kaleb. He sits in the passenger seat of the familiar car. "I'm not opposed to it. Though, I would much rather just get dirty with you, love." Kaleb smirks, glancing over at her. Candice rolls her eyes, starting the car to drive towards the place she buried her mother centuries ago. "Keep dreaming, witch boy. I'm quite spoken for already."

Kaleb scoffs under his breath, not believing that for one second, but he had to play along before she got suspicious. "Then where is the lad, and why is he not with you?" Candice cleared her throat, glancing over at the witch before putting her eyes back on the road. "Not that it's any of your business, but he's busy." Kaleb nods slowly with pursed lips. "Well, if I had a smoking hot girlfriend, I'd want to be with her every day."

Candice chuckled. "And, why don't you have a smoking hot girlfriend already? Assuming that you're not insufferable to the female population. Or male, for that matter." Kaleb shoots her a small glare, getting a small smile for her, happy that she got under his skin. He clears his throat, deciding to get back at her. "Probably, the same way everyone is always plotting your death. Your terrible communication skills. If you can call shoving people into a wall and pressing on their throats, skill?"

The car stops and Candice turns to face him. "Let's get one thing very clear. You are trying to pursue me, and I have been trying to make it clear that I am not interested. The only reason you're in my car is because I need another witch with me incase my dreadful mother decides to pull me from the present. Do you understand me? Or do I need to be anymore thorough?" Kaleb hums, shaking his head. "Whatever pleases you, darling."

He exit the car, leaving a very stunned Candice. No one except Kol, ever called her darling in that tone before. It caught her off guard before she quickly shook off that feeling as a coincidence. Stepping out of the car she seen as Kaleb grabbed the shovel and headed towards the tall tree, she furrowed her brows wondering how he knew where it was located. "How did you know it was right here?"

"Uh, witch intuition?" She squint her eyes at him, not sure how she should possibly believe that. But, her mother was buried in New Orleans so it made sense for a New Orleans witch to know where she was buried. "Okay. Let's get to digging up the old hag." As Kaleb began digging, he knew it was probably best to question Candice about her mother or it would look weird that he didn't, seeing as any normal person would be curious. "So, uh, why bury your mother under a tree and not the cemetery with the witches?"

"Well, I do happen to own this particular land. And, my father was buried here, therefore why the tree is here. It's centuries old. He passed when I was young, but my mother preserved his body and wanted for him to be buried on this land, as it's where he grew up. It wasn't my first choice to bury her here. I personally, didn't think she deserved to be with him." Candice inhaled, leaning her head on the tree as she thought of Kol. "But, a very special man, convinced me that it was only right to reunite them in death. After all, it's what my father would've wanted."

Kaleb, obviously knew this, but it was nice to hear Candice praising him. "Is this "very special man" the same one you're hung up on?"

Candice pushed up from the tree, raising a brow as she took the shovel from him. "You're pushing it, you realize that, yes?" Kaleb smiles, climbing out of the large hole with her help. "I'm just curious. You're a bit of a mystery." She shrugs, throwing out her hand to push the dirt away, revealing her mother's remains. "I prefer to be mysterious. That way, people such as witches, don't have anything to use against me."

Candice begins to walk towards the car, Kaleb following her over, tucking his hand in his pockets. "Yet, you seem to be telling me quite a lot about you, at least for someone who's such a mystery." Candice scoffs as she grabs some items from the backseat. "Don't flatter yourself. What I've told you is only a small percentage of my life." He shrugs, "it's still more than you've told anyone else, I'm sure."

"I'm convinced you want me to kill you." Candice mumbles, and as he was not a vampire, he couldn't quite catch what she said. Candice jumps down into the hole. She sticks her thumb in the black powder and wipes it across the skull of her dead mother. "I need you to watch me very closely, study my movements, look for anything that could reveal what is causing my mother to be linked to me. This is a very powerful spell, she will try to fight me, to kill me, and you will see blood, don't fret. Do not for a second stop me unless you see blood surrounding where my heart lies."

"What does that mean? Blood surrounding your heart?" Kaleb questions, watching as she sets the spell up. Candice looks up at him as she holds her mother's skull. "It means, she's pulling out my heart." Taking a deep breath, she sets the skull down and looks down at her ring that connects her with her brother Anthony. It was so she was able to channel him in case of emergency spells. Closing her eyes she chanted, that stops when she realizes it's not working. "Brother, please, I need you to hear me. Hear me, brother. Hear me, Anthony!"

Defeated at the lack of answer, she looks up, feigning concern and confusion. "I don't know what's wrong. I can't, he's not answering me. It's like he's not even there. I think, she got to him somehow." Kaleb takes a breath, feeling a bit guilty that he couldn't tell her what was actually keeping her from contacting her brother. "Well, uh, then channel me. I know, I'm probably not as powerful but it's something."

Candice sighs, gesturing him to come down. Kaleb jumps down quickly and stands beside her. "I'm going to siphon you, and it will hurt like hell. It won't take all of your magic, but it will take enough to help me fight my mother. New Orleans magic can hold her back to a certain extent. But don't worry, I will replace your magic with my mother's. Take my hand, and do not let go or it will stop the spell. And that would really piss me off." He nods, intertwining his hand in hers and he had to admit, it did feel good to feel her soft skin against his.

Candice took a breath and closed her eyes, hovering her free hand over her mother's remains as she chanted in a foreign language. Kaleb clenched his jaw, feeling his magic being taken, and she was indeed right. It hurt like hell. But he stayed strong, studying her body as she held his hand tighter, their intertwined hands glowing a bright red. "She's fighting back. Don't let go." Candice spoke before chanting louder, blood spilling from her eyes, she didn't stop.

Kaleb takes his eyes away from her face to look at her wrist, noticing it begin to glow black. Kaleb immediately grabs the bracelet and rips it from her wrist. The blood stopped spilling from her eyes and she chanted further, finishing the spell. Though, the minute the spell was complete, her hand slipped from his and she dropped to the ground suddenly, unconscious. "Candice!" Kaleb knelt down, lifting her head, she woke with a gasp, her hand subconsciously grabbing onto his. "We did it. We took her magic." A smile grazed her lips, finally feeling free of her mother's chains.

Kaleb grins, wiping the blood from under her eyes as he looks down at her. "I could kiss you right now, darling." Her eyes widened, "please don't." She cleared her throat and they both stood up, looking down at her mother's bones that had began to turn a dark black. Candice smirks, and climbs out, helping Kaleb out as well. As she went to cover the remains, she noticed her bracelet in Kaleb's hand. "Why do you have my bracelet?"

He looks down at it, "oh, uh, it was glowing black during the spell. I think this is what your mother used to influence your magic." Candice sighs and takes it, looking down at the bracelet with sad eyes. "Just when I thought she couldn't get any more evil." She clears her throat, going to explain to clear up any confusion. "This belonged to my father. He made it for me the day I turned five. And now I have to destroy the last thing I have that connects me to him." Candice stepped towards the hole, and mumbles a spell, destroying the gem that lied on the bracelet. She drops it into the hole with a sad expression.

"Goodbye, father."

"Well, you were right to be suspicious. Davina's hiding something in that attic. The door was locked with a rather complex spell." Alec spoke, walking beside Esther was took over the body of a harvest girl named, Cassie. Finn Mikaelson was with them, on the other side of Cassie in the body of a powerful witch known as Vincent Griffith. Kaleb caught up with them, taking place near Alec as they walked the cemetery.

"Could be a weapon, source of power. I'd prefer not to leave anything to chance. Better we know what she has and whose side she's on. So, you'll take her to dinner." Cassie says. "I just stood her up for coffee. She probably hates me by now," Alec replies. Kaleb smirks, nudging the man, "wouldn't be the first." Finn turns to face the man who was siblings with his old best friend. "Just do as you're told, Anthony."

Alec scoffs, he never was fond of Finn. They all turn a corner, Kaleb smirks, hoping for Alec to get into it with Finn. "Of course, Finn the sycophant speaks up. You gonna grovel at your mother's heels for eternity, or what? Ya know, I never understood how Candy tolerated you." Kaleb chuckles as the two men glare at each other. "Stop it, both of you. There's enough conflict to come." Cassie says.

They stopped in their tracks, facing the pack of wolves who were currently there for moonlight rings. Kaleb overlooks them. "Look at this pack of freeloaders."

"Nonsense. These are our friends. Wolves in need of a gift only I can provide. Moonlight rings." Cassie led the three into an area that revealed a ton of witches making the rings. "The witches have been working day and night. Soon we will have enough rings for an army. And when we do, we will pay your brother's and Ms. Parker a visit." Cassie picks up a stone from the bowel. "And we will teach them the unfortunate error of their vampire ways."

Kol and Anthony both share a look, not sure they're ready to let that happen. Esther wasn't admitting it, but she had other plans for Candice. Cassie clears her throat, turning to Kaleb. "Speaking of Candice, where did she take you today?" Alec glances at Kaleb, remembering how earlier that day he had felt Candice trying to channel him. Unfortunately, he had to ignore her calls.

Kaleb knew Cassie would find out from Chelsea so he needed to be the one to tell her. "If you must know, she took me to her mother's grave. As you already know, her mother was influencing her magic. So she dug up her remains and performed a spell to take Chelsea's magic and break the link. She needed to siphon me so I let her, and in return she replaced the magic she took with her mother's."

Cassie inhaled, clearly not too fond of this information. "Well, that doesn't work out in our favor if she has Chelsea's magic. We need something to weaken her." Cassie walked towards a box and pulled out a necklace, she smiles and sets it in Kaleb's hands. "Take her out to dinner tonight, and give her this. When she puts it on, it will link you to her, so you will be able to influence her. I am trusting you with this, Kol. Do not let me down." Cassie stated in a warning tone at the last sentence.

Kaleb clears his throat, holding onto the necklace. "Got it. Won't let you down, mother."
