Background | Kira was born in the united states but moved to japan when she was 2 years old, so she doesn't speak English very well anymore. Kira's childhood dream was to be a kpop idol, she learned to speak Korean from a young age, and auditioned for jyp when she was twelve. she made it to the final audition (along with some of the Japanese twice members) but was eliminated because she wasn't a good enough singer. She was about ready to give up when an older friend introduced her to the online rap community, with which she actively participated in until she was cast by up-front in 2018. Music was always her passion, but she realized after being rejected from jyp that she wasn't really interested in the bubblegum, manufactured style of music most kpop and jpop groups produced, preferring to write her own songs. Because of this, she has yet to debut in japan. Her company doesn't believe that this dream is reasonable, but she convinced them to let her audition for the show to try to prove herself.

Background | Miyu was born in Fukushima, Japan. Her father is a taxi driver, but he sings at local bars too. Her mother is a housewife and she didn't want Miyu to become a singer in the beginning, but after seeing her daughter singing in her last middle school play, she understood that music was her biggest passion. Miyu auditioned for Avex in 2016 and she started to train to become an idol singer. Her agency proposed this show to some of its trainees and Miyu found it interesting and decided to audition.
