Next morning it was Nandini who woke up first. She found herself totally wrapped in Manik's arm. She admired Manik for sometime. She was ruffling his silky hairs which were falling on his face. She caressed them lovingly and pecked on his forehead, then left from there without breaking his slumber.

She came back to Alya's room. Alya was still sleeping. Nandini sighed seeing her. She freshened up and went down. Elders were already there.

Nyonika called Nandini near her. "Nandu, you are up so early? Come here."

Nandini passed a soft smile to her. "Good morning, chachi."

Nyonika reciprocated in the same way. "Good morning. Nandini, take this saree with you and keep it with yourself. It's for you."

Nandini took it but she was confused. "Why this saree suddenly? Is there anything special?"

"I had worn this one for my marriage." Nyonika caressed the top of the saree with an affectionate look on her face.

Nandini smiled and looked at the saree properly. "Wow, this is so beautiful."

"I have always thought that whenever Manik will get married, I will pass it to his wife. You are going to be Manik's wife and I don't think this saree would have looked better on anyone apart from you." Nyonika caressed Nandini's face lovingly. "Did you like it?"

Nandini nodded at that very instant. "Yes. It's so pretty. I loved it."

"Okay. Then wear it on your and Manik's engagement."

Nandini blushed at the mention of engagement. Nyonika noticed the red hue on her cheeks. She chuckled seeing Nandini's face. "Won't you wear it?"

Nandini nodded her head still blushing.

"I forgot to tell you, we have fixed your engagement date." Mohini too joined her.

"Yes, it's two days after Mukti's wedding. Mukti will leave and you are going to come here permanently." Bhavna added.

"So soon?" Nandini was not expecting them to fix the date so early.

"Mukti is getting married today. That means only two days." Alya exclaimed with the new found information.

Nyonika cupped Nandini's face. "I can't wait for the day when you and Manik will get married and you will be here to handle my crazy son."

"I am more eager than you. I feel like I take a leap of two days and reach to the day of the engagement. What do you say, Nandini bhabhi?" Alya hit Nandini's shoulder with hers.

Everyone chuckled seeing them.

"It's enough. Now both of you go and have your breakfast. It's Mukti's wedding today. There is a lot of pending work." 

Then three of them left from there leaving Nandini and Alya alone.

"Nandu, whose saree is this?" Alya noticed Nandini holding the saree.

Nandini blushed.

Alya chuckled seeing her cheeks turning red. "Let it be. No need to tell anything. I have got it. It's engagement, right?"

Nandini nodded.

"You will look really pretty in this saree. Manik already keeps on staring at you all the time, now he won't be able to move his eyes from you. His eyes will stick to you only."

Nandini ran away from there blushing.

Alya smiled.

Later that day Manik was searching for Nandini as he didn't see her from morning. When he woke up, she had already left.

Manik saw Aryaman going, he stopped him and asked, "Did you see Nandini anywhere?"

"No, I haven't. She will be somewhere here only. You go and get ready. Till then Nandini will be here too." Aryaman left patting his shoulder.

"Where is this girl? She never did something like this. Where did she go?" Manik thought in mind.

"Manik, did you meet Shreekant? He was looking for you." Nyonika asked Manik.

Manik nodded in no. "I will meet him later. Now I have something really important to do."

Manik didn't wait there any longer and run out of there. He directly went to Nandini's room in search of her. He saw Pari standing out of Nandini's room.

"Pari, where is your sister?" Manik asked seeing Pari.

"She is inside the room."

Manik was about to go in when she stood in front of door and stopped him from going in.

"What?" Manik gave her a confused look.

"You can't go inside." Pari uttered in a stern tone.

"Why?"

"Di is changing her dress."

"Okay. No problem." Manik shrugged his shoulders.

Pari covered her face with her palms. "What do you mean by no problem? I said she is changing her dress. It means you can't go inside."

"What kind of trouble is this? Now how will I make her understand that I can go inside. We have already done everything. There is nothing to hide."  Manik sighed thinking it.

"You wait here. When di will call me, then you can go inside." Pari said like a strict teacher.

"Pari, where is aunty?" Manik asked trying to divert her mind.

"Mumma has gone to your place."

"Then what are you doing here? Everyone is having so much there. You will get so many chocolates there. You should go to the party fast."

Pari became confused.

"Why are you getting so panicked? I am here, right? I will see, if anyone is going inside or not." Manik added.

Pari looked him suspiciously. "What do you think I don't understand anything? I know it all what are you thinking." 

Manik's eyes went wide hearing her. "What did you understand?" 

"That if I went there then you will go inside." She rolled her eyes.

"Why do you understand everything so much? Why are not you sweet like your sister?"

"See she is here."

Manik turned back and his eyes widened seeing her. She was liking like an angle in that lahenga.

Nandini came close to Manik "What happened, Manik? Why are you looking at me like this?"

"Di, why are you so stupid? He has got a crush on you. Why don't you understand?" Pari muttered in a wise tone.

Nandini's eyes went wide hearing her. "Oye!!! Do you even know the meaning of crush?"

Manik came back to reality from his Nandini's world. "What, Nandini? This little kid knows the meaning of crush and you don't know it? It's so shameful."

Nandini glared at Manik. "I know the meaning of crush. I was just..."

"Let it be. We got to know how much you know this." 

Pari laughed whereas Nandini glared at him. If look could burn someone, then Manik would have turned into ashes till now.

"Nandini, if you will turn red like this, then you won't need make up anymore."

"Shut up." Nandini shouted gritting her teeth.

Then Nandini entered into her room being hell angry on both of them. Manik and Pari's eyes widened in horror seeing Nandini so angry.

"Pari, what did you do?"

Pari looked at Manik angrily. "What did I do? You did it."

"Now?" Manik asked in a worried tone. He looked at Pari for some help.

"Go and get some chocolates for her. She will be okay." 

"Good idea. But I don't have any chocolate."

Pari slapped her forehead. "You are really stupid. Di is more intelligent than you. Bent down."

Manik frowned but bent down hearing her. Pari moved close to him. She gave a peck on his cheek.

Manik looked at her on shock knowing what she meant. "Really?"

"Hmm."

"You know you are a savior?"

Pari raised her imaginary collar feeling proud. "I know."

Manik laughed seeing her act. "Okay, now you go. We will be there in a while and it will be our secret." 

Pari left from there nodding her head. Manik entered into Nandini's room. He saw her applying makeup. He smiled and stood behind her.

"Nandu, baby love." Manik uttered in a sweet tone.

Nandini didn't say anything. She kept on doing her work. Whatever she was going to take, Manik was taking that before her and then gave it to her. Nandini wanted laughed out loud at his antics. She controlled herself with a great difficulty. She pretended that she is really angry.

"Nandini, what's wrong? I am speaking to you?"

"So what?" Nandini gave him a stern look.

"Then why are you quiet? Say something."

"Then what am I doing? Dancing?"

Manik nodded his head slowly.

Nandini made a bad face. "You are making fun of me again, Manik."

Manik nodded innocently. "No. Never. Why will I make fun of you? I was smiling because, if you dance, then I will also dance with you. Thinking that only I was smiling."

Nandini gave him a blank look.

"Okay let me get you ready."

Nandini smiled and nodded her head in disbelief. "You are unbelievable."

"Only for you."

Nandini blushed.

"Now give it to me."

Then he took the earrings from her hand and made her wore them. One by one Manik made her wear all her jewelries.

Manik opened Nandini's hairs from bun and slide them to one side and kissed on her neck. Nandini's heart started beating fast. Manik was lost in her. He slowly traced his finger slowly from her neck to her breath. Nandini had a hard time in controlling her raging breath. Manik's closeness affects her badly Manik knew that.

"Nandini." He whispered in her ear in a husky tone.

Nandini was lost in his touch. She closed her eyes tightly. She could only manage to hummed.

"Why are you so soft?" Manik whispered in her ear.

Nandini got back to her senses. "Manikkkkk." She shouted. "You were supposed to help me. Then what are you doing now?"

"I am helping you only."

Nandini pushed him a little away from her. "No need of helping me. I can manage. You go."

"No. I want to see you getting ready." Manik spoke like a stubborn kid. 

"Manik, we are already late and you are not ready yet. Go and get ready. Everyone will be looking for you."

"First you get ready and then I will go."

"What's this, Manik?"

Manik out his finger on her lips. "Not a word more, Nandu."

"Okay. But you won't disturb me." She pointed her finger towards him.

"Fine. I will just stare at you."

"Hmm."

After two long minutes,

Manik moved Nandini's hair and caressed the marks of her neck with a teasing smile on his lips. "Nandu, why this place is so red?"

Nandini rolled her eyes. "Manikkkkk."

Manik passed a tight lipped smile to her. "Okay. I can understand."

"Manik it's enough already."

"But...."

Nandini threw a stern look to him. "You are going or not."

"Okay... I'm going. But."

"Again?"

"Okay." Manik sighed.

Nandini wanted to laugh at Manik but controlled herself.
