It was the next day, and the four were hard at work, gathering materials.

"GUYS I JUST REALISED YUYU-CHAN HAS NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED!"

(y/n) yelled at Taiju and Senku. 

"ooh you're right (y/n), okay here's what happened. Thousands of years after everyone turned to stone, (y/n), Senku and I came back to life! And the first person we brought back to life was Tsukasa, the strongest primate!"

"Whoaa! so you guys started with nothings at all?! And you maid the revival fluid?"

"Senku and (y/n) did! I didn't do squat."

"No you were so good at getting us things, Taiju!!"

(y/n) said, patting the brunettes back. 

"Thank you (y/n)! Back to the story! Tsukasa started smashing stone people with is basically murder! That's why we gotta fight him!"

Taiju stopped talking to take a breather, however Senku started talking.

"heh heh, that is why we came all this way! We finally have the three ingredients for gunpowder! Now we simply combine them!"

"WOOOO GUNPOWDER COOKING CLASSES, WE CAN LIGHT SHIT ON FIRE!!"

(y/n) said excitedly, gathering the ingredients all together.

"Okay okay the number 1 ingredient is Sulfur from the hot springs! Then charcoal, and our last one was hard to get so Senku prepared us some! potassium nitrate, which takes a long long long time to make!"

(y/n) explained all the ingredients while mixing them together.

"hmm... that nitrate stuff sounds familiar.."

Taiju said out loud. 

"NITRIC ACID IS THE MIRACLE FLUID! YOU GOT IT FROM THAT CAVE!!"

"That overcooked brain of yours is rarely so quick. one hundred billion points for you!"

"Senku don't be cuck! Taiju is doing his best."

"Well (y/n), stop being so impulsive, you didn't even add any sugar!"

Senku said, yanking the bag away from the girl. She pouted, before getting a small log to smash the bag to harden the mixture up, however Taiju beat her to it. Big mistake on Taiju's part.

"SMASH IT?! LEAVE THE HEAVY LIFTING TO ME!!"

The three others screeched. Yuzuriha ran in front of him. 

"Taiju, it seems like a bad idea Taiju!! If you smash it with your strength, it could make a spark and go boom! like flint!!"

Yuzuriha reasoned with him, making him put the rock down. (y/n) interjected.

"Sparks actually can't be sparked from striking rock against rock!"

"huh really??"

"ohh you're right!"

Taiju said, smashing the rock against the sand softly. 

"(y/n) the gorilla is right, a piece of flint isn't just ordinary stone. Unless there's iron in the mix there won't be sparks...."

Senkus' voice slowly trailed off as he made a realization, Taijus strength + iron pyrites... AN EXPLOSION!

"FUCKING HELL TAIJU!"

(y/n) yelled just as the explosion went off. Senku grabbed onto her clothing, it was kind of like a pathetic attempt to protect her. When they all fell to the floor Senku quickly checked if (y/n) was okay, she was perfectly fine, but it made Senku realise something. If (y/n) was actually in any danger, he'd be almost powerless to stop it.

 "THAT WAS AN AWESOME EXPLOSION TAJI-KUN!"

(y/n) said with stars in her eyes. Yuzuriha was mortified.

"I HAD NO CLUE GUNPOWDER WAS THAT POWERFUL!! I THOUGHT IT WOULD JUST FRIZZ HIS HAIR A BIT!"

she giggled, getting a 'same here' from Taiju. Senku then chimed in. 

"Kids have had experiments with this stuff go wrong since forever, it's not uncommon for someone to lose an arm or leg like that."

"oooh yeah back at the hospital we used to have kids come into the ER all the time after experiments gone wrong."

(y/n) said in response. 

"It could easily be a lethal weapon if we wanted to use it that way."

Senku explained to Taiju and Yuzuriha. Cursing the brunette's eyes to widen. 

"Wait, we're gonna attack tsukasa with this..? But (y/n) said we wouldn't hurt him!"

"No (y/n) is right, we'll make a deal with him. There's no reasoning with a murderous fiend like Tsukasa. Remember what he said when you fought him, Taiju?" 

Taiju whispered a bit of backstory to yuzuriha, while (y/n) started to shake a bit. She knew Tsukasa was stubborn, (y/n) knew that better than anyone. But he would stop if death threatened him, right? Senku continued.

"But what if we had him on the ropes, ready to make a deal? having gunpowder on our side might just put us in a better bargaining position."

Senku was going to talk more, until he saw (y/n) shaking a bit. 

she must know that if the encountor goes bad he will be killed, she's not stupid. As useful as she is when she's happy, I can't sacrifice all of humanity for her smile, that's just illogical.

Senku sighed.

"Taiju hurry up and put the fire out! If Tsukasa actually did come after us, then this will 100 percent lead him after us!"

Senku yelled, getting Yuzuriha and (y/n) to get water. However after a few buckets (y/n) saw something.

"Yuzuriha, look."

Yuzuriha did as she was told, her eyes widened.

"Senku, Taiju. look over there."

Everyone was staring at the smoke signal. Yuzuriha and Taiju started to panic. While (y/n) and Senku just stared in disbelief.

"IS IT TSUKASA??"

"IS IT A FOREST FIRE?”

"Tsu-kun isn't stupid, he wouldn't tell us his location, and it's not the time for forest fires... so that must mean..."

"There are people besides us!"

Senku finished (y/n)'s sentence.

They must think it was a volcano! But they're just being sure.... we should light it up again but Tsukasa will fine us. Fuck this is hard.

(y/n) bit her lip in thought, it was about to bleed. Senku was faced with the same dilemma, but he was far more decisive. 

"WHAT DO WE DO SENKU? PUT IT OUT OR LIGHT IT BACK UP?!"

Taiju yelled to his friend

"LIGHT IT! RAISE  THE SMOKE SIGNAL!!"

"BUT SENKU TSUKASA!"

"IT'S FINE (Y/N), THIS MIGHT BE THE FUTURE RIGHT HERE, USE THE IMPULSIVENESS THAT YOU HAVE FOR ONCE AND HELP TAIJU!"

(y/n) ran to go get some sticks, the gunpowder was running out. Senku knew the smoke signals were a risky idea, but all we could do was pray that Tsukasa was nowhere near. His prayers weren't answered.

Tsukasa took Yuzuriha hostage, he approached. Senku could hear his footsteps.

"Once a weapon of science appears, the strongest no longer sits at the top! It looks like you're throwing a tantrum here, Tsukasa. You don't want to embarrass yourself when (y/n) gets back."

Tsukasa only replied with a simple smile, as he held his spear to Yuzuriha's neck.

"Sure. If that;s what you want to think. If you succeed in making your weapons, you'll bring us back to darker times. people will fight our self interests, dragging us back to the sordid world of the past. If it means preventing that, I'm not above ruling with an iron fist."

Senku was sweating, he had nothing on tsukasa, the gunpowder wasn't ready, and (y/n) wasn't here to bargain with. He was nowhere near where he had planned to be. 

"That would mean killing me, the great scientist senku. And then killing the great doctor (y/n), the world would be touched by your kind death sentence."

"Right, well i have no intentions of killing (y/n), but you on the other hand, how about you tell me the revival fluid recipe?"

Tsukasa's grip on the spear tightened, it also got closer to Yuzuriha's neck. Senku just smirked. 

"Sorry, but I'm not as sweet and caring as you, the only way I know how to think is logically. I couldn't care even one millimeter about that girl. Plenty of other women out-"

A slash sound was heard, and Yuzuriha's hair was cut off, now it was above her shoulders. Shanku's smirk was completely gone now.  His trick didn't work.

"Your tactics are useless. How do I know? Because you didn't bury her. Your optimal strategy would've been to take the purified yuzuriha and bury her somewhere far away, so this situation wouldn't happen. But you did it for either Taiju's sake or Yuzuriha’s... no for both of them."

Fuck can Taiju or (y/n) hurry up i can't reason with him by myself right now.

Senku thought, the sweat on his face building up. Tsukasa continued to speak.

"You say you're all about logic and reason, but you have friends you care for. I may have given legions of fans, but no one actually mattered to me. Which is why, senku... this is my win."
