The statue was now crumbling away, one whole of its arm was gone. Yuzuriha teared up in front of the three. Causing Taiju to yell in concern, (y/n) to just look at the brunette with concern, and Senku to pick at his ear.

"WHAT'S WRONG YUZURIHA?? WHERE'S THE JERK WHO MADE YOU CRY?! WAS IT ME?? IF SO I'M SO SORRY!"

"NO I'M NOT CRYING! WELL I MEAN I AM, BUT NOT LIKE YOU THINK TAIJU!"

Yuzuriha yelled in response, trying to calm the brunette in front of her. She continued speaking.

"I only just woke up today... so it hasn't really hit me until now. Seeing the great Buddha, it just sets things in that this is Japan,  and that thousands of years really have gone by. Mum, dad, my friends, everyone I used to know is gone."

Yuzuriha's tone was so sad, (y/n), taiju and senku probably all felt the same with how they looked at her.

"kukukuku there's no need to worry, we're gonna save all of humanity and beat Tsukasa."

"Yeah and we'll get to be in history books until the end of time!"

(y/n) and Senku said, giving the girl a warm smile.

"THE GREAT BUDDHA HERE SHOWED US THE WAY! HE STAYED IN TACT FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS!"

Taiju yelled. 

"No, it's still standing because it's made of bronze, whose chemical composition is resistant to corrosion."

Senku said, crushing the poor Taiju's dreams. He was still positive though!

"LOOK THERE ARE NO PLANTS SURROUNDING THE GREAT BUDDHA! THE BIG GUY MADE IT EASY FOR US TO FIND HIM!"

"Actually... hate to break it to you Taiju but the copper ions probably just got into the soil, it's really toxic for almost all vegetation."

(y/n) said, breaking the boy's spirit a bit more, however it gave Senku an idea. 

"BRONZE OF COURSE! PERFECT FOR MAKING A MIRROR! THAT WILL IMPROVE OUR SEXTANT!"

Senku started mining at the statue. 

"SENKU OH MY STOP! YOU CAN'T GO TO HELL PLEASE!"

"DON'T DO IT! YOU WANNA INCUR HEAVEN'S WRATH!"

Taiju and (y/n) yelled at Senku. But the two knew that nothing could keep that man away from science. The four kept walking along, (y/n) even shot a bird for them to eat. The three slept under a tree while Taiju stayed up to keep watch. 

The next day they were on a makeshift raft, Taiju in the water for some extra man power. While Senku and (y/n) used sticks to paddle. 

"kukuku that big old body of yours finally breaking down?"

"I HAVE A LOT LEFT IN THIS TANK DON'T WORRY!! I CAN DO THIS."

"Oi don't be rude you pompous bastard, Taiju is doing his best!"

Senku and (y/n) started having a small argument, nothing serious. However, in the corner of his eyes, Taiju noticed Yuzuriha's toe still had stone.

"YOUR TOES STILL HAVE STONE, YUZURIHA!"

"Yeah, I didn't wanna bother anyone about it. It;s my own problem so who cares?"

"AH YUYU-CHAN NO! WE HAVE TO FIX IT."

The four went to the shore to pour the miracle water onto her foot. 

"So cold! But it feels like even the pain is washing away!"

"oooh does this revival fluid also have some kind of healing thing?"

Taiju asked Senku and (y/n).

"Don't be ridiculous!"

"well when we were unpetrified we sustained a bit of damage, so it doesn't really fully, even with these cracks on our faces, though we're still alive."

(y/n) said. Picking up her bow and a few other things. 

"Once we reach our destination, we can take a dip in some recovery fluid!"

Senku said to the three, making Taiju's and Yuzuriha eyes light up.

"you mean our our goal in hakone is the hot springs!"

The two yelled. Their happiness over taking them as they hopped to their goal. Taiju and Yuzuriha walked ahead, leaving (y/n) and Senku.

"oi why are you being so quiet? You've only told me not to be rude once, what the hell is wrong."

Senku asked, his voice barely above a whisper. (y/n) looked over to her best friend, her (e/c) eyes were duller than he's ever seen them. 

"Senku, have you ever lost anyone?"

She asked, looking back to the path. 

"Not anyone important, no, why? Everyone's still alive, you just have to wait until we defeat Tsukasa and then-"

Senku was interrupted. 

"I don't think I can do that, I can't choose any one of my best friends over the other. I know his morals are bad, I know his actions are bad, but I just can't bring myself to hate or even dislike him in any way!"

(y/n)'s eyes teared up a bit, but she was still smiling. 

"Be logical (y/n)! 3 friends over 1, there's an obvious choice, I don't know why you're stressing over it so much."

"No you're wrong. I'm not like you! I can't just think about logic, I'm sorry... I don't know if i'll be able to be there for you."

Senku stayed silent, all he could do was pat (y/n) on the back. He didn't get what she was saying, he couldn't get the emotional side of the decision, only the rational one. It hurt his heart a bit, he couldn't sway her to his side, he wasn't her favourite. 

"Well I'll still be here, no matter what decision you make (y/n), I..."

He paused, trying to think of what to say next.

"You're really useful to me, And I can't lose you to the other side."

Senku said, trying to comfort her. 

"Alright thank you Senku. You make me feel better."

(y/n) gave Senku a smile, 

Senku is so sweet! Trying his best to comfort me! I might just catch some feels! But not that’s weird he’s my bestie westie. 

(y/n) thought, before looking at the yelling Taiju.

"WE'VE REACHED IT! THE HOT SPRINGS!"

The four immediately jumped into the hot springs, obviously putting a barrier between the men and women.  

"Ahhh It's so warm, don't you think so yuyu! It's really helpful if anyone is feeling like they're getting a bit sick."

(Y/n) said, turning to yuzuriha, both their faces were beet red from the steam. 

"Yes! It's so soothing that I could stay here for ages!"

Yuzuriha exclaimed (y/n). 

"Our first bath in 3,700 years!"

"heh heh heh... We didn't come here for the spa treatment!"

Senku exclaimed to Taiju, pulling out his mining tools. 

"Thankfully, japan is a volcanic nation, so we might as well take advantage of the raw ingredient for gunpowder.... sulfur! Heh heh It's time for the showdown between Tsukasa and the Ultimate weapon! The rebirth of black powder is here!"

Senku said menacingly, while the two girls went to the edge of the hot springs to talk.

"Hey (y/n), what is Senku going to use the black powder for?" 

Yuzuriha asked the girl.

"For a gun!"

"A GUN?! AND YOU'RE OKAY WITH THAT???"

"Of course, I'm certain Senku would not kill Tsukasa, I'm sure Senku would keep Tsukasa around. He also knows that he's my best friend so I'm sure he wouldn't do that to me."

"woah, you and Senku must be really close! Have you maybe li-"

"NUH UH DO NOT SAY THINGS WHEN YOU COULDN'T EVEN CONFESS TO T-"

"(Y/N) DON'T BE RUDE AND OUT ME LIKE THAT HE'S NEXT TO US!"

The two whisper-yelled, before laughing their guts out.

"I'm really glad we're friends, (n/n)."

Yuzuriha said, giving (y/n) a smile.

"Yeah yeah, me too I guess."

She said, rolling her eyes playfully, With Yuzuriha giving her a light punch on her arm. Before getting ready to get out.

"where are you going now (y/n)?"

"Well someone has to get food! And I think you should have some private talk with your boyfri-"

"(Y/N)!" 

"OKAY BYE!"

(y/n) yelled, before rushing to get her clothes and bow.

fuck... what if Senku actually wants to kill Tsukasa...
