↣ 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘞𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘛𝘰 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘸

Bailey entered the game, closely trailed by Steve.  They were present to support Lucas and encourage him during the game.  "Calm down, Steve; he will be fine."  Bailey remarks as they ascend to the bench.

Steve merely shakes his head and takes a seat beside him.  The crowd was enthusiastic as they awaited the formal commencement of the game.  Bailey surveyed his surroundings but was unable to locate Max or any of the boys, which caused him some disappointment.

The band ceased playing when the principal rose to address the assembly. "Everyone now please rise for our national anthem. Singing for us tonight, we have a very special guest. All the way from Nashville, our very own Tammy Thompson!"

Steve directed his gaze towards Robin as the audience applauded slowly.  Bailey was uncertain about the situation or the exchanged glances between Robin and Steve, yet he applauded anyhow.

A well-dressed girl entered, greeting everyone as she approached the microphone.  Bailey observed that she appeared rather kind and was genuinely pleased to hear her sing for them until she commenced her performance. Bailey's expression subtly shifted upon hearing her voice.

"Wow. She sounds amazing, doesn't she?"A girl adjacent to Bailey and Steve murmured.  Bailey merely nodded in acknowledgment before directing her attention to Steve, who regarded her with a critical gaze.

Following an excruciatingly protracted rendition of the national anthem, Tammy concluded.  She gestured to her admirers as she exited the gym once more.  The opposing squad that Hawkins High was competing against emerged to a resounding ovation from their section of the bleachers.  Both teams assumed their positions, and the referee blew his whistle, indicating the commencement of the game.

The ball was thrown into the air, and Jason caught it.  He commenced dribbling down the court, deftly navigating among opponents attempting to obstruct him.  Jason transmitted the ball to a teammate, who subsequently returned it to him as he approached the basket.  He fired and succeeded.  Applause reverberated across the gymnasium.

Lucas promptly rose and discarded his tracksuit, sprinting onto the court. "Look, Lucas is entering the court," Bailey remarked as he turned to Steve

As the game approached a critical juncture with limited time remaining, Hawkins High convened a huddle to formulate a new plan.  The huddle persisted for almost one minute, after which they returned to the court to conclude the game.  Nevertheless, Jason failed to make his shot, and the ball rebounded off the rim.

Lucas seized the ball from an opponent.  He dribbled the ball while running and executing a spin maneuver.  Only one second remained on the clock when he leaped and took the shot. The ball ascended through the air, and as the buzzer resonated, it struck the hoop, rebounded off the backboard, and fell directly through the net.

Instantaneously, the gym erupted in applause as the Hawkins High squad rushed to elevate Lucas.  Steve and Bailey expressed their enthusiasm.  Steve lifted Bailey in exhilaration as he rose his fist triumphantly and laughed.

Steve placed Bailey down as they hurried to see Lucas. "You guys made it."  Lucas remarked while seeing the two of them.

"Certainly, we would not have missed it under any circumstances."  Bailey stated while embracing the small guy.  Steve leaned forward and gave him a high five.

"We should allow you to relish your celebration," Steve remarks as the group begins to escort Lucas away.  Bailey saw their departure, incredulous that the young child he had encountered long ago was now a figure of acclaim.

Steve and Bailey exited, the frigid wind gusting about them as they approached Steve's vehicle.  "Prepared to return home and relish the remainder of the evening?" Steve remarked while gazing at Bailey.

"The thought of Chrissy keeps popping into my head; she looked so depressed today."  As they made it to his vehicle, he says.  The passenger seat was filled with Bailey. Suddenly, Steve grabbed his hand and raised it to his mouth.

"She will be okay. "As he planted a kiss on the boy's hand, he said.  With a grin on his face, Bailey watched Steve pull out of the parking lot.

What he failed to realize, however, was that Chrissy was in distress and that trouble was heading their way.
