Queen
I hung up the phone and looked down at the floor. Any question of this being my imagine was out of the window. The blood the baby was now covered in was a large indication of just that. He did this.
I looked down at the body next to my foot and frowned as I saw a familiar outfit on the body. I couldn't exactly pinpoint where I saw it but it was familiar enough that I crouched down and flipped the body.
My eyes widened and I gasped when I saw Mary's lifeless eyes. I covered my mouth with one hand and walked to another body to see Paul, then Moses, and then lastly Jesus.
He killed the Seers. Somehow, someway...he did it.
The beings that had destroyed my life were dead. I didn't know how to feel. I was overwhelmed with happiness but fearful at the harsh reality of what this meant. This baby was dangerous and beyond powerful. How he managed to do all of this himself was beyond me.
At just a baby...managing to kill the most powerful beings in existence. What did this mean if he became an adult? Surely he would only get more powerful from here. Thinking about that was terrifying.
I thought back to the moments before the bodies appeared and I closed my eyes as I realized why he did it.
It was for me.
I remembered how he watched me cry at the sight of them on the television. I believed it was because of the curious mind that most babies had, but it was more than that. I had so many questions in my mind that couldn't be answered and I ran a hand through my hair.
I turned to him slowly to see him looking up at me and I took a deep breath. "Thank you."
"Mother," he growled lowly as he held his arms out.
I jumped at the sound and looked at him in shock. It didn't sound like his deep voice from last time. It was still baritone, but there was something else. It was almost like a low rumble. As if he collected all of the evil souls in Hell and used their voices to sound so demonic.
I hesitantly picked him up from his spot and held him as I looked at the bodies. He seemed to return to his babyish self as he sucked on his hand and looked up at me with big brown eyes.
What am I going to do with you?
"Mama," he said in a baby voice as he looked up at me with a big smile and giggle. My heart softened at the word and his adorable actions and I closed my eyes and sighed.
Maybe we should keep him...
Maybe. I opened my eyes when my bedroom door opened. I looked to see Syn slowly close the door behind him as he stared down at the bodies in shock as I did.
"What...happened in here..." he said in confusion as he looked around.
"He happened," I said softly. "He killed the Seers."
Syn looked down closely at the body and his mouth dropped as he realized who they were. "How?" He asked in awe.
"I don't know. We were watching the celebration in Heaven for the Seers and he saw me crying. Next thing I know the power goes off and he disappeared. When the lights turned back on, the bodies were here and he was covered in blood."
"Shit," Syn whispered as he came towards us and ran a hand through his hair. He sat down on the bed next to me and the baby reached out his small hand. Syn moved to take his hand and he wrapped his small hand around Syn's finger.
"I'm so proud of you, buddy," Syn said in a baby voice as he tickled him.
The baby giggled loudly and I laughed softly as I shook my head. "Syn stop, we're screwed. If everyone finds out that we have him...they'll kill him. They'll probably try to kill us too."
He sighed and nodded slowly. "We won't tell anyone who he is," Syn said as he looked directly into my eyes. "As far as anyone is concerned, his mother left him here and we adopted him."
"Okay," I whispered with a nod. I looked back to Saint who was still covered in blood that was now on me and I sighed as I stood up. "We're going to get cleaned up."
"We?" He asked with a raised brow. "An hour ago you wanted nothing to do with him..." He stood up and moved to take the baby from my arms. "I think you're right about getting rid of-"
"No," I said sternly as I stepped away from him and moved Saint. "We're keeping him."
"Hmm," Syn hummed with a smirk. "Well, I'm going to clean up here and take the bodies to Hell. Will you be okay alone?"
I nodded in certainty as I rocked the baby. "I'll be fine." Syn gave me a quick kiss on the lips and rubbed the baby's head before we turned to the bathroom.
I closed the door behind us and played with the baby in my arms. "You're kind of stinky, aren't you?"
"No."
"Yes," I argued. "You get to take a bath in the sink."
After almost two hours, we were both finally cleaned up. It would've been a lot quicker if he didn't fight me every step of the process though. He cried, made the lights turn off, made light bulbs burst, and growled at me multiple times. It got to the point where I had to compel him to stay still.
I got dressed in a baggy shirt and shorts and wrapped the baby in a towel. None of his clothes were in here considering I've been avoiding him like the plague.
I walked back into the room with him and my arms and I was stunned when I saw my room spotless. It was even cleaner than it was before. I looked to my side to see Syn wearing gloves and cleaning the clear balcony door.
"I think it's clean," I said with a small laugh.
"Is it?" He asked unsurely.
"It's clean enough, Syn," I assured him.
"Alright," he muttered. He removed the gloves and put the cleaning supplies away and carried them out of the room.
I looked down at the baby who had his hand in his mouth and gently pinched his chubby cheeks. "You're an adorable little Anti-Christ, aren't you?" He looked up at me with his big eyes and my heart melted again.
The door opened and Syn entered with diapers and a small furry onesie. He kicked the door shut from behind him and set the clothes on the bed. "Here, I got it."
I passed him the baby and he laid him on the bed and began dressing him. "So..." I started.
"So..." he copied as he glanced at me.
"So we're adopting him..." I said slowly.
"Yes, I plan on adopting him and James."
"Hey," I said. "What about me?"
"You want me to adopt you?" He asked as he picked up the baby.
"Obviously not," I said. "You keep saying 'I am adopting...'. What about me? Are we not together?"
He smiled before shaking his head and sitting on the bed. "I just didn't know how you felt about it. I didn't want to force anything on you as unbelievable as that may sound."
"Well, I love James. If you're doing to adopt him, I'd like to as well. I-if he's okay with that of course. If not then that's cool too b-"
"Relax," Syn whispered. "We'll both go talk to him and my father one of these days. He's so used to Lucifer that it may not even be what he wants."
"Okay."
"And what about this one, huh?" Syn asked as he held up the baby. "You want to adopt him too?"
"I think I do," I said. "Besides, it looks like he has the ability to drive people insane so it may be best to have him with us."
"That's very true."
"So are we calling him Evil like his mother did?" I asked.
"Evil SinClaire?" He asked with a sour look on his face.
"It has a nice ring to it, no?" I asked unsurely.
"Ahh, I just think back to my name. Julius chose it, you know? Because I was supposed to be the embodiment of sin..." He said. "I don't want him growing up to know that someone that was supposed to care about him thought about him like that."
"I'm sure he already knows," I pointed out with a grimace.
"Maybe," Syn whispered as he looked down at him. "I just don't like the name for him."
"You already have a name for him in mind, don't you?" I questioned as I crossed my arms.
"I mean it was hard not to think about it," he shrugged.
"So.." I began. "Tell me it."
"I'm thinking 'Saint'."
I laughed softly and looked down at the baby. "You want to name the Anti-Christ 'Saint'?"
"Why not?" He asked. "It's kind of like a fuck you to Heaven, you know?"
"Saint SinClaire," I said as I looked up at the ceiling in thought. I repeated the name in my mind and a few moments later, I looked back at Syn. "I love it."
"Great," Syn said. I could detect the excitement in his voice and I held back a smile. "Now we need to talk about if we're telling anyone in the palace..."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"My mother, father, Xavier...everyone. Should we tell them about Saint or keep it a secret?"
"I think we should tell them."
