My smile slowly dropped as Queen hesitantly pulled away from me. She hid the awkwardness with a laugh and I looked at her in confusion. "I'm going to get out."

I nodded and removed my arms from her. As soon as I did she sunk into the water and I held back a laugh as she struggled to stay afloat. Finally deciding to stop trying, she wrapped her arms around me and caught her breath as she laid her head on my chest.

"Here, I'll take you," I laughed. "Get on my back."

She quietly lifted her head from my body and I helped her swim around me. I smiled as she wrapped her arms around my neck and I began swimming back to shore.

I helped her get out of the water before pulling myself out and I passed her a towel. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," I muttered as I began drying myself off.

She gave me a small smile before heading back to the car and I sighed. Only Queen managed to confuse me this much with her mixed signals. We were doing amazing less than five minutes ago and now it seemed like she wanted to get as far away from me as she could.

I removed my wet swim trunks and wrapped my towel around my waist. Now would've been a great time for alcohol. I needed to calm my nerves. I didn't bring anything since I thought she'd be the thing to calm me down but here I was.

I grabbed a bottle of water from the cooler and sat down on the blanket. I looked around at the forest that my imagination had created and sighed. I never thought I'd ever bring someone here.

Hopefully, in the future, I'd come back with Queen and our dozen kids. Well...if things worked out. I wouldn't give up on Queen but I didn't know how she felt since she was upset at me every other day.

I turned to my side when I heard her footsteps and I smiled up at her. She held a small gift bag in her hand and adjusted the rope on her robe before lowering herself in the space next to me.

"What's that?" I asked curiously.

She sat down on the heels of her feet and held it out to me. "It's for you."

A slow smile spread across my lips as I raised a brow at her. "What is it?"

"Open it," she said with a laugh. She held the small bag with her finger and I took it from her and set it down in front of me.

I neatly removed the decorative paper from the bag and pulled a smaller gift box out from the bottom. I glanced at her to see her watching me excitedly and I turned back to the gift.

I pulled the tied ribbon off of the gift and let it fall as I opened the box. A shiny silver simple bracelet was revealed to me. It was nice but that wasn't what shocked me. It was the waves of magic that I could feel radiating off of it. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to feel Queen's energy radiating off it and I smiled.

"This is for me?" I asked as I opened my eyes.

"Duh," she replied. "It's like the necklace I had that you saw in that car that one time."

"The one that someone important gave you?"

"Yeah," she answered sadly. "You were the one that gave it to me."

"I figured."

She smiled at me before looking back at the gift with a sigh. "I made it before you died and I was going to give it to you after our wedding but...you know. But after you died it was just laying around so I tweaked the spells on it and made it better."

"I don't recognize any spell on it," I said as I eyed it.

"Well you wouldn't, they're ones I made myself. It was created using Angel tears and Hellfire," she said. "You'll be protected and you won't die if you wear it."

"This is different from your necklace," I said. "I can't accept this, Princess. If it prevents death then I want you to wear it."

"No, I made it for you, Syn," she said as she picked it up from the box. "I already lost you once."

I couldn't find the words to say to her to and I sat in silence as she took my wrist and put it on. As soon as the lock clicked, my wrist heated and the sensation floated through my body and I winced.

"That's the fire, sorry," she said. "It'll create a sort of barrier around you. Also, this is handcrafted for you so if you tried to put it on someone else it'll be useless...just in case you decide to try to be a hero again."

I laughed softly and she smiled at me. I looked down at the bracelet on my wrist and a thought that I had forgotten went through my mind. "I think I'm mad at you, Princess."

"What'd I do?" She asked with an innocent smile.

"You fuck with my heart," I said.

"You don't have a heart," she whispered.

"You know what I mean."

"How do I do that?"

"I don't know what you want from me," I admitted. "One day it's like, 'Oh Syn, I'll marry you and I more than love you'. Then the next day it's, I won't marry you but I'll let you fuck my brains out. And now it's, we're taking it slow...I'm not marrying you...but I'll give you an incredibly powerful bracelet because I can't lose you.' Do you get me?"

"Not really," she whispered in amusement. "Well, I mean kind of."

"I just want you to choose a feeling and stick with it. These next few months our relationship needs to be solid, and I don't want to have to question how you feel all the time."

She nodded slowly at my words and I continued. "I know that I disappeared on you but I had no choice. You need to accept the fact that I may never be able to tell you why I was gone, but know that I love you and wouldn't do something to hurt you. You can't just keep leaving me over misunderstandings."

From looking at our past with these types of arguments I patiently waited for her to argue back with me. She usually didn't take well to me putting her on the spot.

"Okay," she said softly with a nod.

"Okay?" I asked in shock. "That's it?"

"I mean you're right. I can be very indecisive and self-absorbed. I never really thought about how my impulsiveness could affect you."

"Yeah," I whispered. "It breaks my nonexistent heart."

She let out a small laugh and sat back to hug her knees. "I'll try not to do that again."

"Break my heart?"

"Yes."

"Fuck try," I said seriously. "I'd rather you just not do it, Princess. It hurts a little." I looked out at the water to distract myself from the uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I was obsessed with her but these talks still made me want to throw up.

"Okay," she nodded. "I won't. But I want you to do something as well."

"What?"

"No more secrets, from this point on. I'll try to forget the fact that there are past ones but from this second on, I want to know everything."

"I can do that," I said simply as I took her hand. "I more than love you."

She laughed softly and sat up. She laid a hand flat on my chest and pushed me down until my head hit the pillows and I raised a brow at her.

She bent down to press her lips against mine and I relaxed completely. My hand moved to the part in her robe and when it connected with her naked skin, my cock hardened. Her tongue dove into my mouth and I pulled her leg to my other side.

I devoured her sweet taste and my chest ached at the sound of her moans. I kept my lips on hers as I sat up and her hands got lost in my wet hair as she gently tugged it. I groaned at the small pain and squeezed her ass through the silk robe.

"Hmm, was just telling me that not enough for you?" I teased.

"It is, but this was fun," she said. I looked into her brown eyes and she gave me a shy smile as she glanced down at the tied strings of her robe.
