James

The cartoon I watched with my dad...well Syn played in the background while I played with my legos. I guess being expelled wasn't so bad as I thought it would be.

Ethan told me that kids at school were talking about what happened during my conference but I didn't care. If Rodney wasn't a bad person I wouldn't have hurt him. That's something Syn taught me.

Protect the people you love and hurt the ones that harm them.

Ethan was my best friend so it was natural for me to go after Rodney for bullying him. While at the conference, I had no regrets. I only wished that I punched him a little bit harder, but I tried my best.

I wasn't a fighter. When Syn took me in I was already smaller than a lot of kids and even though I got stronger, I was still behind other supernatural kids.

A knock at my door made me look up from my position on the floor and I smiled at Leah. "Hey."

"Hey," I said kindly. She walked into the room and took a seat beside me on the floor and I waited for her to speak. When she didn't, I set the lego down and looked at her.

"Are you good?" I asked.

"I'm fine, just a bit worried about you."

I was confused at that. What reason was there to be worried about me? "Why?"

"You don't have many friends your age," she pointed out.

"People my age are weird," I said.

"Isn't weird good?" She asked as she nudged my arm.

"No, it's not," I answered. She seemed like she was trying to be nice but it was kind of annoying. Out of everyone in the world, the only people who seemed to understand my want to be alone were Ethan and Syn.

It wasn't that I didn't like people, I just didn't like getting to know them. I found out that as I learned more about them, the more disappointing they were.

"You're kind of weird, aren't you?" She joked.

"I mean a little bit, but there are different types of weird. I'm weird because I do puzzles and hang out alone, kids my age are weird because they spit on people and eat rocks."

"I'm sure there are some almost twelve-year-olds that don't eat rocks," she said.

"Good for them," I muttered.

"This conversation isn't going to go anywhere, is it?"

"Just like last time," I said. "But you did a better job this time, so maybe next time it'll work."

She smiled and got up from the floor. "I'll practice, but until then, I'm your friend, right?"

"You're my nanny," I corrected.

"I can't be your nanny and friend?" She asked with a raised brow.

I sighed and looked back down at my legos. "Sure."

She laughed and walked towards the door. Before she left she turned to me and gently hit the door frame. "Genesis and Lucifer are out and I need to go pick up groceries. Do you want to come with me?"

"No."

"I thought so, I'll be back in twenty. If something happens, scream, the guards are outside."

"Got it," I mumbled.

She gave me another smile before disappearing down the hall and I turned up the television once again. I watched the cartoon and continued playing but stopped when I heard a door close somewhere in the house.

"Leah!" I yelled. I got no answer in response and closed my eyes to pay attention to any more sounds. The sound of footsteps was evident in the house and I got up from the floor.

I wasn't dumb enough to go see who it was so I closed my door and put a chair in front of it. Whoever tried to enter would have a seriously hard time and that would buy me enough time to leave.

The footsteps were moving to the second level of the hour and I quickly slipped on my shoes and grabbed my backpack. I had a few dollars on me so I could take the bus to Xavier's house and stay there until Lucifer came back.

I heard a rattling at my door and ran to the window in my room. I moved to leave the room when someone grabbed me and I screamed. They quickly held their hand over my mouth and an arm around me.

"Please don't scream," a woman whispered into my ear. "I just wanted to see you."

I nodded slowly and she lowered her hand. "Who are you?" I whispered in a frightened tone.

"Why don't you look at me?" She asked.

I turned around to face her and she crouched down to my level and smiled at me. Her eyes were watery and I looked at her with a lost look. I looked back at the chair that was still blocking the door and I wondered how she got in.

"Who are you?" I asked.

She sat down on the floor and crossed her legs as she looked up at me. "I'm your sister."

"My sister is with my grandma somewhere," I said.

"Your other sister then. I guess I can't expect you to know since we've technically never met."

I looked at her for a long time and titled my head as I saw the eyes I had only seen on Syn before. I gasped and covered my mouth momentarily before I grabbed her head. Her eyes widened as I moved her face around and studied her.

"What are you doing?" She giggled.

"Xavia?" I asked.

"It's me," she whispered as she grinned up at me.

"I-how...how are you here?"

"I'll explain later," she said in a small voice.

"I thought you died."

"People lied."

"Who?"

She hugged her knees to her chest and looked around in fear. "What's wrong?" I asked as I sat on the floor next to her.

"I'm so scared," she whispered.

"Why?"

"Bad people are looking for me."

"Then why are you here?" I asked as I heard the footsteps again.

She crawled towards me on the floor and hid behind me. "Because remember when I was in my mom's stomach you promised to protect me no matter what? Because you're my big brother?"

"I remember," I whispered. A few years ago when Queen was pregnant, we were all watching a movie together and Queen let me feel Xavia kick. After that, I would come whenever I can to talk to her. I made that promise to her but I didn't think she could hear me, I was glad she did though.

"I need you to do that right now," she said as she cried softly. "I thought I was strong enough to do this on my own but I can't yet."

"We should tell dad," I said.

She quickly shook her head and wiped her tears. "No, no, we can't. They're in a lot of danger already. I can handle this...with your help, of course."

"I'm only eleven," I said.

"And I'm four," she said back. "Dad would want us to protect each other, right?"

"Yes, he would."

"Someone really bad is about to come to get you right now," she said and brought my attention back to the footsteps. "We'll take care of each other, neither of us is strong enough alone right now."

I looked at the door worriedly but I was a lot less nervous now that she was here. I held my hands out and she placed hers into mine. I nodded at her and she smiled. "What do you want me to do?"

"I need you to hide me," she said.

"Where?" I asked as I looked around my room. "My closet-"

"No," she whispered as she shook her head. "With a trembling hand, she placed it on my forehead and took a deep breath. "I need to hide there."

"In my brain?"

"Well, your mind but yes, I guess."

"Okay, do it."

"You don't want to ask anything?" She questioned. "You're not worried about any-"

"No, you're my little sister. If this is what will help you then I'll do it," I said seriously.

A tear fell down her face and she nodded quickly before hugging me. "Thank you, JJ."

"JJ?"

"Your name is too long."

"JJ is longer than James," I whispered.

"No, JJ has two letters and James had five."

I sighed and shook my head. "I have a lot to teach you."

The footsteps reached the door and my head snapped to it and then back to her. "Hurry up and get in."

The door quickly opened and my head shot in the direction to see Leah walk in. "Are you good?" She asked sweetly. I looked back to where Xavia was and found her gone and turned back to Leah.

"I'm fine," I answered quickly.

"I heard you talking to someone, are we sneaking in girls?" She said with a raised brow.

"No, it was the TV."

"Mhmm well, come help me make dinner," she said.

"When did you get home?" I asked.

"Like a minute ago."

"And you came straight in here?" I asked suspiciously.

"Yup, I left a child alone so the first thing I did was check on said child," she said with a laugh. When she noticed how serious I looked, her smile dropped and she raised a brow. "Is something wrong?"

Yes. If I was home alone up until a minute ago, who's footsteps did I hear around the house? I still heard them when Xavia was here so that meant it couldn't be her either. The only possibility left was a scary one but the most likely: Someone else was in here.

That must've been who Xavia was talking about when she said that bad people were coming for me. Good thing that Leah came in when she did.

"Nothing is wrong," I said. "I'll come to help you with dinner."

She nodded with a smile and walked back into the room. As soon I heard her footsteps on the stairs I looked around the room. "Xavia! Xavia!" I whispered as I looked around.

"I'm in here." I heard her voice in my head and my eyes widened. "This is so weird."

"I know, I'm sorry."

"Don't be," I said. "Do you know who was in the house?"

"Yes, and we need to find them."

"Why would we do that? Isn't the best thing to do to stay put?"

"No, we need to kill them before they kill us."

"I'm not strong enough to kill anyone that's looking for you," I said solemnly. As her older brother, I wanted to be able to protect her, but I was weak.

"You're not weak," she said.

"You heard that?" I asked. If she could listen to my thoughts this was going to be so weird.

"I'm in your mind...also yeah it'll be weird...but fun," she laughed.

"So who exactly do you want us to...kill?" I asked cautiously.

"God."

"Tell me you're joking."

Author's Note
I'm realizing that I have a hot-ass seat waiting for me in Hell after writing these books.
*Me In 50 years๐Ÿ˜ญ*

Now, let's get into this chapter chile...
Xavia went to go see her big bro๐Ÿ˜ญ. I guess it's only natural since she's so scared she went to someone who is supposed to protect her.

This was our first James POV and he has a bit of an attitude but I love him.

I suppose for the time being that Xavia will be in his mind, but her wanting to kill GOD has me like...yikes, be careful.
What do you think will happen?
