The wait for her answer felt like hours. I had just asked her less than a second ago but I was anxious. After reading the vows, all the love and emotions that I had for her came rushing back to me like a wave. And in my drowning state, her answer would be my only lifeline.

"Yes," she said simply.

"Yes, what?"

"I'd still love you," she whispered.

I was hoping she would say she would but just hearing the words come out of her mouth stunned me into silence. There was nothing I could say back to her, I just wanted to kiss her and be wrapped up in her all night. But I wouldn't do that. Not yet.

"This is where you're supposed to kiss me," she pouted adorably.

"Queen," I said as I took her hands into mine. "You need to rest."

"It's just a kiss, are you trying to make out while running a mile or something?" She joked humorously.

"No, it's just that— after everything that happened with Dimitri, I think we should take things slow until you feel better," I said cautiously. I didn't want her to think I didn't want her since that was the furthest thing from the truth.

She laughed softly and nodded her head as she slowly removed her hands from mine. "I understand," she said. "Do you mind if I shower first?"

I shook my head quickly. "No, go ahead."

She muttered a quick thank you and scurried to the restroom and closed the door behind her. I couldn't help but feel like I hurt her feelings but I said it in the nicest way I believed I could. With a sigh, I sat back on the couch and turned on the television.

I flipped through the channels in boredom and rolled my eyes as I saw my name repeatedly on the news channel. I stopped changing channels when a headline caught my eye.

Dimitri Russo Paying Respects To Deceased Step-Daughter Xavia SinClaire

Dimitri's name anywhere near my daughter's filled my body with an unexplainable rage. After all the shit he's done, he had no right to even step foot in the cemetery.

The camera moved to a shot of him laying roses on her grave and my blood boiled. He turned to the camera and gave it a solemn smile.

"I just come here sometimes to visit her, I never got the chance to meet her but my wife tells me she was amazing. A part of me is thankful she doesn't have to see the type of man her father became. I would've been an amazing dad to her. I love you Xavia," he said as he looked back at the grave.

It was almost like he was trying to taunt me. What other reason would there be to involve my daughter in this?

The only good this news report brought me was the location where my daughter was buried. The camera then zoomed into her headstone and I was taken aback to see both of our names. Did they bury us together?

Now I just needed to know if she was still in there. When a person dies, their soul travels to either heaven or hell and finds a permanent home there while their body stays underground. But when a soul switched through realms, its body disappears.

This is why my body shouldn't be in the casket, but if Xavia was truly gone, hers would. I still had plans to dig up the grave and check for myself but I couldn't exactly do it without Queen. She'd be livid.

She'd most likely also be upset if I asked her to do this crazy shit with me. I stopped up and paced the small area as I thought about what to do. My mind ran in circles and time flew by. Before I knew it, Queen was standing at the doorway with a towel wrapped around her and giving me a weird look.

"Are you good?" She asked slowly.

"Yeah," I said as I rubbed the back of my neck. "I just umm—...can you come somewhere with me?"

She glanced at the clock and laughed softly. "It's almost 3 am. Where do you want to go this late?"

"Just somewhere," I said. I couldn't exactly tell her, but I'd tell her when we got there. Perhaps looking at our daughter in the cemetery along with my story at the bar would convince her to help me.

"Okay," she said as she walked to the closet. "Shower while I get dressed and then we'll go."

I walked to the restroom and took a quick shower. When I was done Queen passed me a towel through the door and I wrapped it around my waist. I left the restroom and smirked at Queen as she eye fucked on my way to the closet.

I pulled out a long sleeve black shirt from the closet with matching jeans and put them on quickly. I was in a huge rush to do this and I wouldn't calm down until I saw the casket.

I stepped into the living room and Queen tied up her sneakers and looked up at me. "Still not telling me where we're going?"

"Not yet," I said.

"I hate surprises," she whined as she stood up. "Am I at least dressed okay for it?" What attire did one wear to dig up a grave, anyway? I didn't know so I smiled at her and gave her a thumbs up.

"We just need a car," I said with a grimace. How was that something I didn't think about?

"I have a motorcycle," she said cheerfully.

"Why do you have a motorcycle?" I asked as I felt my jaw clench. I knew she couldn't die easily but her being on something so dangerous frustrated me.

"Because I like it," she replied with a shrug.

I wasn't a huge fan of them but we didn't have much of a choice. I held out my hand and she looked down at it. "Give me the keys."

She walked to a hook in the shelf and pulled it off. She walked back over to me and laid it into my hand. Our eyes connected as her hand lingered on mine and she smirked at me smugly. I rolled my eyes and took the keys from her and walked to the door. "Let's go."

"What if someone sees us?" She asked as she followed behind me.

"It's almost four in the morning, no one will see us."

I walked out of the door to the apartment and waited for Queen to walk out. She locked the door behind us and we held hands as she led me to the parking lot. We walked past a few cars until we stopped in front of a black motorcycle.

"Ta-da," Queen said with an excited grin as she gestured at the motorcycle. I didn't bother to look at the bike as my eyes remained on her. It felt good to see her this happy. She looked back at the bike and sighed. "She's beautiful, isn't she?"

My eyes lingered on her and I smiled. "Yes, she is."

Queen happily walked around the bike and wrapped her arms around it. "I've missed you so much, Rocky."

"You named your bike Rocky?" I asked dryly.

She stood up straight and waved her arms around. "Mmmmm no, I don't like this attitude, Syn. You treat her with respect, her name is Rocky and she's a motorcycle, not a bike."

"And you're insane, Princess."

She laughed and I shook my head. I hopped onto the bike and Queen moved to get behind me and I turned to her. "No, no, no, no, no. What are you doing?"

"Getting on?" She said in an amused tone. She lifted her leg to get on and I stopped her once again. "Syn-"

"Where's your helmet?" I asked.

"I don't use one."

"Queen..."

"Syn..." she copied.

"You don't wear a helmet?" I asked in exasperation.

"No, it's not like I'm going to die," she said with a shrug. She moved to get back once again and I stopped her and pulled her to me. Our mouths were inches apart and our breaths mingled but I resisted the urge to kiss her and looked directly into her eyes.

"We are going to go buy a helmet," I said slowly with condescending nods as if she was a kid.

She grinned and copied my movements and I sighed. "What store is open at 4 am?

"JuMart," I suggested.

"Right," she said in remembrance.

"Well Princess, hop on," I said. She quickly got onto the cycle and wrapped her arms around me. Her hands were in an unusually low in placement and I bit my lip as she glided it across my abdomen.

"Well Syn, are you going to do it?" She whispered from behind me as her hand glided over my crotch.

"Do what?" I asked as my breathing changed.

"Start the motorcycle, silly. What else?"
