Queen

It's been three days since I've seen Cain or Dimitri. I had my guards search up and down the underworld for them but they came up empty. I became worried about him and I even tried to do a location spell on him but there was nothing that he had a close enough connection to for me to use.

I was surprised to see that Mia was even more worried than me. She skipped work to drive around these past days looking for him and he wouldn't pick up her calls.

No one had spoken to him, he just disappeared off the face of the Earth. I knew that was something he was good at doing but I never expected him to do it to me. I sat up in my bed and tried his number once again, but it went straight to voicemail.

The door to my bedroom opened and Cain strolled in laughing as if nothing had happened. I stood up from the bed and walked straight towards him. "Where have you been?!" I snapped. "We were worried about you."

He removed my hands off of him and scoffed. "Chill out."

"What's wrong with you?" I asked as he walked past me and sat on the bed.

"Nothing at all."

"Where is Dimitri?" I asked as I looked at the door. Hopefully, he hadn't killed him, I still didn't know where Dimitri's stashed evidence was.

"I'm right here." I turned around to see Dimitri walk into my bedroom and my heart dropped. I looked back to Cain who had a blank look on his face as Dimitri approached me.

"Did you miss me?" He asked as he pulled me into a hug and kissed my head. I remained paralyzed and Dimitri turned to Cain. "Didn't you have something to tell us?"

"Yes," Cain said as he stood up. "I hope you two have an amazing marriage."

I ignored the rambling coming out of Dimitri's mouth about a Sebastian and I walked to the duffle bag. I grabbed the sharpest knife I had and spent the next hour attempting to draw a self-portrait of myself onto his back. It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted since the blood got in the way of everything but I managed to do a decent job.

"Please stop," he begged. His cries and pleas only seemed to fuel my anger as I thought about what he did to my sister.

"I'm not stopping shit," I said as I held the blood knife to his neck.

He looked me in my eyes and cried as he shook his head. "I swear to you I didn't do this. I wouldn't hurt anyone."

"Yeah, I don't believe you."

"Kill me," he begged. "Just kill me and he'll be gone, please."

"What type of bullshit are you on?" I asked with a laugh.

"I'm telling the truth," he insisted.

"I can prove it," Dimitri said. "Please I-...I can prove it to you."

I stepped back with a sigh and nodded for him to continue. Relief flooded his eyes at our distance and he closed his eyes. A moment later they opened and he looked different...more uninhibited. He gave me a crooked smile and I crossed my arms. "You're going to pay for this, Cain."

I rolled my eyes and Dimitri's eyes closed and opened once again. "Did you see him? I can't control him."

"Umm...I saw you blink and do weird shit. I'm not into whatever this is," I said boredly. I turned to my guards and snapped my fingers as I walked towards the exit. "Everyone grab a bat. I assure you candy won't fall out of him but I want you to beat him until something does."

I heard the shuffling of feet and Dimitri's screams behind me and I smiled to myself. If I thought about it, I was going a lot easier on him than he deserved. I fished in my pocket for cigarettes and my lighter and pulled it out. I lit it as I leaned against the wall outside and looked out at the dark and empty street.

I smoked and looked around aimlessly until I heard the sound of heels against the pavement coming towards me. I looked at the source of the noise and I scoffed as I saw Lilith coming towards me. How did she find me?

"What the hell do you want?" I asked.

"You're going to do exactly as I say," she said as she stood in front of me.

I let out a loud laugh in her face and she waved as a cloud of smoke went onto her face. "What the fuck can you do?" I asked. "You don't have your powers anymore."

"No," she said. "But I have someone to help me with that."

I looked around but I saw nothing. When I looked back at her, she grinned at me and I screamed out in pain as my head began to throb. I held on to my head to stop the pain but it only increased. The dark city around me became a blurry mess of darkness and I fell to the floor.

Lilith crouched down to my level and laughed as she ran her hand through my hair. "Someone wants to speak with you. When you wake up, you won't remember any of this." My eyes fluttered shut and I fell into a deep sleep as my body sunk against the hard floor.

My eyes opened and I was sitting in an empty white room...or at least it looked somewhat like a room. I couldn't see an actual wall since it sent on for miles, but the table I was sitting at made the place seem more...enclosed?

I heard footsteps and a door close from somewhere but there was no one near me. Maybe I'm dreaming. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself down. When I opened my eyes, I jumped when I saw my mother sitting across me with a smile on her face.

"Eve," I said in disgust.

"Son," she said brightly.

"You and Lilith? Partners?"

She looked at her nails and shrugged. "Well, I'm not alive anymore so I needed someone down there." She said with a laugh. "Certain circumstances, require her and me to be partners of sorts."

"Why am I here?"

"Do you ever think about your brother Abel?" She asked, clearly changing the subject.

"Why would I?" I asked dryly.

"I still can't believe that you...the two of you were always close as children. Did you do it for attention?" She questioned. "Did me and your daddy not spend enough time with you?" I rolled my eyes at her baby voice and she cackled.

I stayed quiet and unfazed by her words. My mother was always interested in one thing and one thing only: getting a reaction from people. That was what motivated her to continue her games. I knew her well enough to know that if I didn't react, she'd slip up.

"Why am I here?" I asked again.

She frowned and crossed her arms. "Because you've stumbled upon something you shouldn't have."

"And what is that?"

"It doesn't matter. I'm going to make you forget it," she said. She stood up from her seat and moved directly in front of me. Her hands reached for the side of my head and I slapped them away. With a frustrated groan, she stood up straight and muttered a chant.

Suddenly, I was no longer able to move in my seat. My body was frozen and I could look around but I couldn't move. Almost like I was out of my own body and watching her from another one.

I felt her lay her fingers against my head and the same throb came back. "You don't know the reason why you kidnapped Dimitri. All you know is that you need to stop your men from hurting him and take him home. Repeat what I said."

"I don't know the reason I kidnapped Dimitri. Stop my men from hurting him and take him home."

She nodded and smiled. "Yes. You know nothing about him except what you knew before today and that he's a great man to your sister."

I nodded and she dropped her fingers. "Well Cain, I'm glad we have an understanding. I'll be seeing you soon."

Queen
Present Day

Cain walked out of the room and I was left alone with Dimitri. My heart was beating quickly but I wasn't as afraid as I was yesterday. The worst had already happened. I'd just have to deal with whatever happened next.

Dimitri walked to the door and closed it and his head snapped to me. "Did you think you could leave me?!" He snarled.

"I didn't leave you," I said.

"You left with Syn!"

"He didn't really give me a choice," I mumbled.

Dimitri wrapped his hand around my neck and pushed me down onto the bed. "I guess I'll just have to keep punishing you for the things you do." His hands moved to his belt buckle as I tried to gasp for air.

I couldn't breathe and fear began to rise in me but it was abruptly cut off with a knock at the door. Dimitri removed himself from me and adjusted his pants as I took deep gasps to get air. He shot me a glare to silence me and walked to the door.

I laid my head on the mattress to continue taking breaths. I closed my eyes and didn't bother to pay attention to the whispers he was having with someone on the other side of the door. The door slamming shut made me look up at him and he ran his hand through his hair.

When his eyes met mine, anger flashed through his and he stormed towards me. "You fucking bitch!" He whispered loudly.

"What did I do?" I asked as I moved away from him on the bed.

"Did you know Syn was moving into the palace today?!"
